  2. I'm sorry my post may have confused you, but he was wrong in the sense of his attitude. I find his attitude to be the only thing he's done that is wrong. I standby the fact that he is not obligated to express details of a punishment/ruling. He just needs to go "It's been handled" or something along those lines, to keep you informed. Yes, if you tell a staff member you feel your situation is unresolved, they should delve further into an explanation, but generally, if you're asking to know what was done to the other party or parties, they are not obligated to tell you. I planned on discussing this with Goret. See above. Yes, if you are the offender in question. For instance, you kill an SSD person. SSD person comes back and ahelps, we bwoink you and deal with you accordingly. But we will not inform the player who reported the rule-break what we did to you/told you because it breaches your privacy if we do that. We'd simply tell them "They've been handled" or "We've spoken to them" etc. If they requested more information, I'd usually say "I dealt with them accordingly. I'm not going to explain what I did to them because it is none of your concern." Make sense? Okay, see, if you were the person being punished, and you wanted to know why you were being punished, then yes, a staff member should dive further in and explain what you did wrong. But, since you opened a ticket against the CE for poor command play, you knew it violated the rules, which is why you opened a ticket. So why would you, the reporting person, need to know how it violated the rules if you already knew it was a breach in the rules. Just because a staff member doesn't dive deeper, it doesn't mean you need to make a complaint. Hey uh... Honestly? I have no idea what you mean by "F.A."... If you could expand on the "F.A." for me, I can get back to you on this. Sorry! The reason I asked you to be more clear on this complaint, is because I couldn't tell if you're contesting the ruling, or contesting his conduct in the ticket. Or both. But, now you've made this clear to me, and we can move forward at a more efficient pace. The CE was spoken to by both Goret and Prate, they both explained what he did basically shut down roleplay and told them not to do it again. What more do you want from that? That's the same thing I would have done. So, regarding this, look at what I said in the first paragraph, please.

I didn't come personally speak to anyone, because I felt all that I needed was here onthe thread. @Pratepresidenten stated that Goret handed it off to him, albeit at a later time than it should have been. Which to me, is seeking help. If we take your ticket, your issue is being addressed. Goret is not obligated to say anything about the investigation, all he has to do is take it and get your side. It's optional for him to go "Ok, its handled" etc. Unless another staff member would like to correct me on that, it's what I've noticed for the past Year that I've been a staff member. The CE portion needs to be a player complaint. Why? Because Goret and Prate both spoke with the CE and handled it. You're contesting Gorets conduct in the ticket with you, not his decision against the CE. Atleast from my understanding. And when I call Goret innocent, I was being too vague. He had a poor attitude, of which I will discuss with him privately. But it is not enough for him to be ejected from the staff team over it. There is nothing else to investigate. I have gone over this complaint quite a few times now, and I come to the same conclusion each time. You need to be more specific regarding what you are not satisfied with, @Ornias.
  5. Okay so, after some long consideration, I think I have come to my conclusion. Goret isn't in the wrong here, they even sought after additional staff help to reaffirm their ruling. A staff member is not required to tell a player if another player was dealt with/what actions were taken. You're expected to just go "okay" when a staff member states it has been handled. Now, I will be speaking with @Goret after this complaint is wrapped up, regarding their attitude towards you in the ticket, but overall, they did nothing wrong. I'm not even going to touch the CE part of this complaint, considering this is a staff complaint, not a player/character complaint. @Ornias Does this sound good?

  8. Alright, after looking through pretty much all of these comments, reviewing your notes and warnings, along with the last temporary ban you received, I have to say I agree with Prate and Juani. This ban is ultimately justified. I hate that this seems like dog-piling, but you asked me for my opinion. In the last complaint/appeal you made regarding the week ban, I specifically stated that if you didn't clean things up, you would most likely be permabanned. I think that Goret is in the right, though, I do encourage you to make an appeal whenever you find yourself to be ready to return.

  11. Hi, sorry for the long delay. I needed to take a few days off. Little vacation. I'm going to try my best to break down my thought process during this complaint. I need to make something very clear, I have no issue with you at all, Rose. I find you to be one of the more likable members in our community and always pleasant to interact with icly and oocly. Right, so. Willow has a history of being a 'problem', for lack of better words. (I'm not trying to be mean, I'm really not, I'm sorry if I come off as a bitch/come off as mean.) There has been multiple complaints and warnings made against this character. While yes, Willow has improved significantly, she still isn't really believable in my honest opinion. I get you have or had a character arc planned for her, and I think that's awesome! But when analyzing this complaint, and other complaints/warnings you've been given, I felt that Willow has made some significant progress since the last major complaint. (The one we referenced in the complaint against you, which has led to this.) But, not enough to put you/Willow in the clear. House and I spent an extensive amount of time working on the complaint, and we did our best to come up with a fair outcome for you while trying to not completely shut down Willow. You mention that we essentially broke how Willow is meant to be played/her story. If a staff ruling breaks a character and their personality.. Perhaps the character shouldn't be around at all until they are fixed? I know I said I'd help out with how to essentially fix Willow, and I know I dropped the ball on it, I'm really sorry, that's on me, I don't want to go into detail on why I dropped the ball, I'll just pm you about it and make a formal apology in our DM's. I don't want it to be public, sorry. I hope this clears up some of what I was thinking during the complaint. You gotta remember it was 2 months ago and I have a horrible memory. Sorry if this isn't good enough of an answer for you.

  13. I'm not the person who will be handling this application, but I'm going to throw in my two cents. I've got to give you a hard -1. I'm sorry but, you have an extensive history with the staff team, some of it being recent. I don't think you are currently command material. I feel like you need to go a certain period of time without running into any sort of administrative trouble, along with improving the way Nick and your other characters are played. A huge red flag I see from this application is that you said "first off that was a non-canon round" when replying to someone's feedback. Canon, or non-canon, it doesn't matter. You're expected to keep the HRP standards we have here on Aurora. If you can't do that in an unwhitelisted role, like Security Officer, why should you be allowed the chance to do it in a whitelisted role, like Head of Security? Or possibly even Captain? I don't mean to be rude, but in my solid opinion, you are currently nowhere near command staff material. However; this could change if you straighten your roleplay and conduct up. Again, I'm not the person handling this application. A little edit: I'm aware Nick isn't the person you'll be using right away. I used them as more of an example of why I don't think you're command staff material.
  14. I'm glad you agree with the punishment, and that you understand why you've been banned, but this is still going to be looked at for the next time you are spoken to. (If that happens). Perhaps the ticket could have been handled in a better way, but, as I said before, a ticket is a ticket. I need to make sure you understand something. The next offense will most likely lead to a permanent ban. So before you return, you need to read the rules and be sure to understand them fully. Or it's going to lead to you being banned, and the only way you'll be unbanned is not by a timer, but a appeal. Anything else to add?
  15. So, calling back to what triggered this ban, or the escalated punishment... It was the power-gaming. Carrying a syringe gun around loaded with Chloral Hydrate darts. You've been warned for other things, which I won't get into for the sake of your privacy. And you've even been banned for a day due to another offense. When you first join the server, you're expected to read the rules. The prompt is there, etc. In some cases, players will skim them or not read them at all. You fell into the trap of skimming/not reading. And if you did read them, you may not have understood some of them, for instance, the one regarding power-gaming. (I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to make it as clear as I can.). Now, yes, this ban will be taken into consideration regarding future punishments, if you receive any. Something I also want to point out is that just because someone opens a ticket, doesn't mean they are voided from any sort of punishment. For example, I welder bomb someplace, and murder some people without roleplay/proper escalation. Then a security officer or someone else beat me down and I die. I open a ticket and explain what happened to me. But that doesn't mean I'm not in the wrong for not providing sufficient roleplay and escalation before murdering crew and bombing place. TLDR, opening a ticket does not exempt you from punishment.

  17. I will be handling this unban appeal. Now, I see two main issues. One, carrying a syringe gun around on your person is fine, yes, but when it's loaded with a chemical such as Chloral Hydrate, it ventures into the powergaming. Which is the reason for your ban it seems, not so much sedating the officer, but the fact you had a loaded ready to go chloral syringe gun.. Again, super powergamey. Now; regarding your recent history with notes, warnings and even a one-day temp ban. I'm going to lower it to a three-day temporary ban since the person who banned you was directly involved and shouldn't have had handled it themselves. If you are not content with this resolution, you're more than welcome to make a staff complaint against me in the staff complaints subforum. Cheers! Locking and Archiving within the next 24 hours.
