Level 4, thanks to DCS and Cart Life.

Little does one realize that translation of nerve signals into mechanical action requires an electronic device. Or even an electromechanical one. All you need do is break the weakest link, and that little controller would be it.

I already have the idea developed. It's on my shelf of shit to do. The last piece of the puzzle that I needed was Scopes' all-clear on moving character saves to the database. This would enable cross referencing data and thus proper validation of said data. I got the greenlight for that last week. This would enable the sending of IC emails to characters who might not even be in the round. Or via the website, as we already have the linking of web and BYOND accounts in development for the syndicate contract database idea. Before I do this, though, I need to finish the syndicate contract database.

Duty Officers only get deployed when they have a task requiring their attention. And they leave right after that item is sorted. High speed, low drag.

Killerhurtz' Server Moderator application
Skull132 replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
WELL, this is what happens when the staff discuss things. They actually read the threads posted up for review, and reply to them ;-; What has this world come to. Yadda-yadda-yadda: same deal as what Dea said, simply phrased by tired Skull. Actual things start here! As a matter of further note, these logs actually came up for discussion when we were gathering out thoughts about the Trial Mods a few minutes ago (hence how I ended up here). This is not something we'd like to see, so we are curious for further feedback on if something like this is repeated. In recruitment drives, we should probably return and more heavily enforce the point of contact system, so that we can have more instant feedback between the Trial Mod and staff team whenever issues like this are posted. This would primarily help them study. Though, it would also require more manpower. -
Dispute of Warning Issued by Garnascus
Skull132 replied to evandorf's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
For the record, the warning is/was removed. Archiving. -
Complaint resolved. Archiving.

Complaint resolved by involved parties. Archiving.

I do have to contest what you said. All recent notes on your account detail your responses to them over adminhelp. To claim that the admins did not talk to you every a note was added is rather false: you were informed of them. Regardless, involved parties resolved the complaint, so I'm archiving this.

11/29/15 - Player Complaint - Ffrances & Halorocks
Skull132 replied to SierraKomodo's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Also, have fun statistics: if our objective was to pile notes onto people we'd want banned, then one could expect people with the most amount of notes to be all permabanned by now. Only 7 out of 25 of the people with the most notes are banned. Anyways, complaint resolved, at this point, and an understanding of "Please be understanding with your silliness" bestowed. Hopefully. -

Da system, it is failzors. No, actually I've got very little to say about what you posted up. Why? Well, mainly because it's in the past, and going back to alter it is a bitch of a task that I am not yet capable of. Maybe if I ascend to godhood, we can try. But, anyways. I'm going to make sure that these issues simply are not repeated. And, since we have quite successfully communicated the issue to you here, I'd say that I'm on track. Unless there still exists something you fail to understand with this complaint here? -

In the span of a month, even less, you received one jobban, one note, one warning, one 3-day ban. All relating to similar offences and stacking ontop of one-another. The next step up would have literally been a permanent ban, as per the escalation of punishments. -

I'm honestly not even going to touch what you said and not, mainly because it'll turn into quote battles and not go anywhere. Anyways. Here's the deal. There's nothing wrong with being occasionally silly and otherwise rambunctious. But as I also said, there is a line. Once that line is crossed, the moderation takes action. And these actions went over that line in the great desert dunes. Because of this, and because you, FFrances, have a history which almost escalated to you being permabanned for it, we're going to issue a warning and see where you take us. If we end in the same situation as we did whenever Tenenza was handling your case, then it'll be closed. Otherwise, if it's a singular incident, then you'll be fine. There is a line, you are aware of it, and you know quite well where it runs. Regarding Halorocks, he was banned for similar offences, but this complaint did not factor into it, as actions to take were not decided yet. -
I tried to get rid of the rave once. I will try again. No srsly though, I keep forgetting what fucking icon_state it is.

I'd have to read the rest of the post to actually evaluate that crud, but here's the thing. There are good ways of going about it, and bad ways. Reference Mister Smile or whoever the fuck FarCry had. Very popular character, similar concept to this: But it was actually done well. Like, I have nothing against humor or lighthearted shit, but, seriously. OOC humor ingame, specially in a roleplaying environment, needs to be done with consideration given to the environment you're roleplaying in. If you just go and call yourself dank memes and run around being stupid, then you're doing just that -- running around being stupid. It is literally below grading, and shite, and serves no purpose on the server. So keep this view in mind. Anyways, off to work with me. -

Allow me to post something that kind of saddens me about all the things. We went from a nuanced, lighthearted character like Felix to just being blatant and boring about how we joke around. Like, seriously, memes ingame for days. It's just not quality anymore, it's lazy and it doesn't offer much beyond a kek. That is to say, it doesn't offer substance. The entire point of memes is that they lack substance. Also, memes for names/in FT are technically pop-culture references. Which are flat out against the rules. As simple as that. Beyond the simple on-the-surface shit I noted above, I'll have to read proper when I'm not at work. So tomorrow. Or tonight if I'm feeling like my masochism is high enough. -
I didn't even know they were removed/turned off. The Registered Users group has the permissions to like posts on off-topic, I just dunno why it isn't showing. And I can't remember where to enable likes. Hnrg. EDIT: there, maybe that fixed it?

Going to necro this. I was thinking, I had a patient die on me from something similar to what you lot are describing. I checked their bodies after a sweep of antibiotics and internal surgery, and they had no infections. But they were still gaining stupid amounts of toxin damage, very rapidly. After their death, I went through their vars to figure out wtf had killed them. I opened up their reagents, and saw 140 units of Spaceacillin in them. Overdose for spaceacillin is 30, meaning that after two full syringes, the drug is going to be giving them toxins damage. This leads me to believe that 90% of the times, these deaths are not broken code, nor ghost infections, but simple cases of very severe overdosing. I did some digging as well, and found out how infections are processed. http://puu.sh/lDhRn/4085c495a3.png <-- This is the curing process. You need to maintain at least 5 units of spaceacillin in their body every tick. (Simply-stupid: a tick is faster than a second.) At worst case, this takes roughly 5 minutes or so. http://puu.sh/lDigO/cf7b1a0d2e.png <-- This is the spreading process. Long story short: cryo-ing people stops the spread, and enables spaceacillin to be more potent. (As it doesn't have to fight the spread of the infection anymore, and can simply do its thing.) Germs will spread from one organ to another after about 15 minutes. After that amount of time, the initial organ will start taking damage. After another 15 minutes, roughly, the rest of the organs start taking damage as well. So yah. Stop cramming people full of them drugs, it ain't good for'em! And have some patience. EDIT: Also, the infection system is basically a lazy workaround to no one wanting to deal with actually fixing the health regeneration rates. The goal is the same: make wounds more serious, and punish people for skipping a trip to the medical bay in lue of simple first aid.

It needs a ckey in the body. It checks if you're dead, and then if there is a ckey in the body. For when there is no body in the cloner, it just sees if there is a ghost with the mind of the dead character. A mind is given to a ghost if they exit the body under the right conditions. (When you are actually dead, and then ghost. Ghost before actually dying doesn't transfer the mind, ergo, you cannot be cloned after that.)

Archived and marked as denied. The issue was concluded before my arrival, so if you ywish to have it reviewed again, please make a new post.

I lied, apparently. Damn work. Anyways, I have one question. If your objective was to destroy the console, why not just do that, and then buzz off? Instead of maintaining the engagement? Also, for the record, ban reason is here:
-
There is one damning thing about all of this. And I mean, from the viewpoint of resolving this effectively. The round took place in the date rollover timeframe, which means: no logs. Which really sucks. The reason basically breaks down into 50/50 gank/OOC. We discussed the gank bit, and since the hostage had the choice to leave or not and they chose to leave, it's not gank. Simple as that. And because we lack the logs to check up on what was said over OOC, and how much was said, we're going to lift the ban and run a few quick checks with the people that were reportedly involved. I would love to see the logs myself, but, yeah. Investigating this will literally take as long as the ban duration, which is why the ban is kind of egh. So yeah. Done. Deal. Let's party.
