    Biohazard waste

What are the official Nanotrasen rules for biohazard waste and the removal of such? In this case I'm mostly focused on the fungi removed from a case of K'ois mycosis, but also amputated limbs and other viscera.
  2. If there's a wish to clear the station from General spam, there's always the possibility of dubbing it an "Emergency" channel, swap the default headset channel to the departmental ones and then go on with our day. It wouldn't be as harsh as removing it fully and would be a nice experiment to see if we could work towards removing it fully.
  3. This would be an interesting experiment, removing the general channel from the headsets and only have headsets with departmental channels (and Command, of course). Something I'd gladly get behind.
  4. "The station keeps leaking oxygen from somewhere. Ensure that Engineering takes care of the issue." "Communism is against Nanotrasen regulations. Ensure that the station follows sound Capitalistic ideals." "There is an unauthorized clown on the station. Honking can be heard from the maintenance tunnels." "Guests will arrive at any moment and the station is filthy! Ensure that the station is clean before they arrive."
  5. As an aside, what's the Bigmac index on... let's say, Biesel? How much is a credit really worth? Because I'm going to assume that everything we purchase on Aurora is marked up a lot Edit: I know this is the wrong place to ask lore questions, but are Credits a corp currency that Nanotrasen is backing, or is it a legit currency?
  6. -1 There's a point in where fun turns into work. Clocking in and out like this would be it. As an aside, I'd love to see that there was some little tab on your ID or in your PDA where you set your status on the crew list as "on a break" but setting things up like proposed would just be a chore.
  7. Add Device chargers to R&D and the Firing Range in science.
  8. Somehow I can't help but see NT prosthetics as a rebrand of something else.
  9. We still have "Artifacts" with abandoned locked crates laying about, but they're still fairly rare. I'd be opposed to adding more "dangers" to mining, but I'd be all more for adding interesting and exciting stuff, such as more things to find that aren't crates like small crashed pods, space junk laying about. Perhaps even adding some things that the Xenoarchaeology can enjoy. Edit: And, mappers willing, that the trains could be more useful with some track already laid down in a route around the station.
  10. +1 I like either suggestions. It'd make a lovely addition to the paperwork for the station, and something to fidget with if you're bored.
  11. +1 Dragging a body bag around just feels messy and it's no fun hauling a dead body on a roller bed either. Would very much like to see that you could do this.
  12. Normally I'd be all for it, but this would be another thing for people to be annoyed about, and they already want to spend as little time in the medbay as possible. Folk (what I have noticed of it) already hate spending time in Medbay, and we now have to put them in the "time out" room because they ripped their suit? No thanks. If it was a spare room where you could have self-treatment adjacent to the medbay, built so you easily could toss people in there? Possible with some reskinned sleepers or even cryo tubes? Sure. Something locked deep inside the medbay where you have to constantly monitor it? Nope. Some thoughts from an MD.
  13. It's legit though. Human can withstand quite a bit of overpressure. The lungs will go way before other tissue starts to take damage. Humans can deal with breathing up around 150kpa and after that, the air starts to become toxic to us. Edit: And that's just for normal air.
  14. +1 As long as it doesn't mess with bolts, ID scan or locks down a door completely. It could make things more interesting, and be a less annoying "rampant brand"
  15. There could perhaps be the option to "Yield" a clone? Say, Steve is an engineer and has had a workplace accident. He decides that, "Naw, I can't deal with this anymore" and chooses the option in the Ghost menu to "Yield" any clones and resuscitation attempts to all ghosts and observers present. I know it'd be quite rare that anyone would actually decide to do this, but it could make things interesting.
  16. Perhaps something in the style with electric pulses or something as rough as a sonic cannon in order to perform non-invasive surgery for brains? Strap the patient to a chair and give them the non-invasive versions of surgery for brain damage, brain trauma, memory adjustment (and in the case of the antag) lowering someones intelligence. (as said in the brain surgery bit on the wiki. Edit.
  17. +1 I was hoping that if we do this, that it could be done to All the "official" books in the game. I was surprised when I couldn't find a single engineering manual that you'd find in Engineering but nowhere else. Why have them if they're not fully publically available?
  18. If you could add some machine such as, for example, electroshock therapy or just something to deal with the new trauma system then that'd be wonderful. Giving an additional way to deal with that permanently outside of surgery.
  19. +1 As someone who tends to work in medical, I'm all for this. Of course, this will bring up the entire "Folk in medical RP too much" complaining when we have to ask them about allergies, but hey, at least we've got an in-game reason for it.
  20. +1 More reasons to visit the bar would be nice. Perhaps with some more coffee and tea variants than just the standard plain or iced.
  21. I'll +1 this one if only for the ability for others to see what you are actually doing. I do fear that this will end up spamming the interface though if it's implemented for something usually done repeatedly.
  22. 1) As I have only focused on playing Medical Resident and Medical Doctor, I have no real opinion on the others, but those I have read have been understandable 2) Yes 3) There has been, to my eyes, some overstepping of bounds in emergencies. But when it's a quiet round and only one patient to deal with then there have been no issues. 4) I believe the issues of Virology and Emergency Physicians has already been brought up, and I agree with the points there. 5) The worst bottleneck on the station would be the surgeons. As it is, since the new cerebral trauma addition, if you don't have a surgeon you might as well not clone anyone because they'll only end up a drooling mess. MD's can't perform brain surgery and the anti-trauma medicines work very sporadically if they work at all. Currently, as it is, if you are on a graveyard shift then the priority for personnel would be Surgeon -> Chemist -> MD. Surgeons can do everything an MD can do, but an MD can't do everything a surgeon can do. (Well, except Virology. But a viral outbreak is only once in a blue moon) 6) The two jobs I've seen nurses do is to either sit in the lobby and greet guests, and watching the sensor monitor, something that otherwise usually is done by the EMT. There's RP opportunities, but every job they do could be done by a resident instead.
  23. *shrugs* We have been talking about sabotaging the cloning process and weighing the benefits of removing cloning for three pages now.
  24. To be frank, I wouldn't mind seeing an antagonist "Rogue Psyker". It sounds like it'd be the more subtle and stealthier version of a Wizard round. And the Antag in question could be starting on station.
  25. As has been pointed out, Cloning is a fairly simple procedure. Clone body, Stick in cryo, apply Alkysine. I'd instead like to see the cloning procedure directly dependent on chemistry. Make the initial cloning procedure require Clonexadone and make it use up a Lot of it. It'd also make the cloner easier to subtly sabotage with someone, for example, pouring a bit of acid into the containers.
