  1. I agree with Kaed, the "keep your distance" stuff doesn't really work when you factor in magboots, hardsuits, sprints, etc. In theory a unathi cultist with 3 papers can bumrush 3 ERT and fuck them over. I wouldn't mind a nerf in the form of having to use 2 talismans instead, enforcing the idea of working together to nab people and finding other ways to grab people.
  2. Ship of Unknown Make Discovered in Frontier 03.16.2459 Head Xenoarchelogist Randal Clerk, along with his expedition team, have made a startling discovery within the frontier. Following the star map they had discovered within the Sol planet of Tavos, they found what they describe as an ancient ship partially buried within a asteroid. Initial scans revealed that the ship had likely collided with the asteroid by accident, however the unknown alloy of the hull held strong and retained most of the ship’s structure. Most of the ship is currently visible, including a unknown spire resembling that of a ram in the front. Further investigations into the ship itself revealed numerous decayed corpses in unusual hardsuits and robes. The ship appeared to be that of some sort of cargo or troop transport. Many containers were found within a single bay, along with a large array of what seems to be some type or cryo pod or bed. Power systems were largely non functioning at the time. When an engineer on the team investigated the wiring of the ship, the team was able to successfully restore power by use of a P.A.C.M.A.N model generator. Later forays into the ship revealed what seemed to be a mostly empty armoury, a odd array of spherical engines, and a bridge with a large decayed skeleton the size of a hover-truck. The Frontier Alliance has expressed interest in this discovery, many nations offering to help investigate the ship further. A team of engineers along with miners from Astrodia are coming to aid the xenoarcheology group. The discovery is already making waves within xenoarcheology circles, many dubbing it “The discovery of the century.”.
  3. Not gonna lie, I've decapitated people before for the same reasons. On the issue at hand, I do agree it's kinda scummy behavior and shouldn't really be done unless for a good reason. Usually when I do do it, it's to take the head as a trophy or if the person was cloned before. Regarding the SOP cloning stuff, it's generally a bad idea to clone someone if they had a engagement with sec. Especially if they were a terrorist or raider. It just causes more issues for sec and others which is quite annoying in code red situations.
  4. New Xenoarcheology Site Discovered 03.12.2459 A sol Alliance expedition into the frontier has recently turned up exciting new discoveries within a planetoid in the edge of the Frontier Alliance systems. Xenoarchaeologist Randal Clerk, in a recent interview, has revealed that his team successfully found what they claim to be an “millennia old datadisk” on a dig in the Sol Dependency of Tavos. “It’s an interesting find, not what you normally find in old colony ruins” stated the excited Xenoarchaeologist. “Typically in these places you find things that date back a few centuries. Old mugs, guns, supplies, food, your standard colonial gear. We’ve never found anything like this before. While we couldn’t translate or retrieve any of the data, we were able to find some sort of map that we could cross-reference with our modern charts. We traced it to an old uninhabited world in Frontier Alliance territories and managed to get a pass into there with a minor escort.” When asked if it was traceable to any pre-existing civilization, Randal Clerk was unsure. The second expedition is believed to begin within 3 days, at which point it will leave the orbital docks of Tavos and head to the frontier to investigate the unknown location, now dubbed “The Tavos Mystery.”.

    [2 Binned] Blobs

If we are going to talk about nerfing blobs, I think that one thing that should be considered if that if a small core is taken down, it removes the blob walls around it within a certain area. Would help with slowing it down and keeping it contained.
  6. Protests Across Alliance Space! 03.01.2459 Recent protests have exploded across the Middle and Inner rim of the sol alliance in response to the 33rd fleet’s occupation of Biesel, with even Sol System nations joining in. With millions of protesters across the Sol Alliance rallying and uniting under a singular cause to demand the removal of the 33rd fleet from Biesel space. Some march for synthetic rights, believing the scrapping of IPCs to be unjust, some sympathizing with Tau Ceti citizens, and some who demand civilian control of the military., The protests seemed to have been co-ordinated on the Extranet, many of the organizers on separate colonies choosing exact days and sharing similar slogans to spread. Along with striking, protesters have also been spreading posters and pamphlets decrying Sol Alliance strong arming and painting biesel in a sympathetic light. Oddly enough, among the Unity station protestors was decorated and retired Admiral Chan Ling of the 12th Sol Alliance fleet. After our intrepid reporters were able to convince him to release a statement, he had this to say. After delivering the statement, Chan Ling retired to his home on Unity station’s upper floors. No other Sol Alliance Admirals could be reached at this time, including Admiral Frost.
  7. Unathi are slower on average, it's just that they have a higher speed boost for sprint than humans but have the shortest amount of time to sprint (Because they're burst hunters in lore) Tajara, I believe, are faster in general. I'm not sure on their sprint limit. Regarding the whole suggestion, I don't really mind it too much. It'd be nicer to give humans slight buffs than just nerf xenos into the ground.
  8. Elyra News Network “For Greatness, We Strive” Terrorist Vessel Linked Back To Sol Supporters 25.2.2459 Days after the deadly terror attack on the parliamentary palace, which claimed the lives of 34 Elyran citizens, the investigation has finally turned up evidence. All of it pointing to the neighboring Sol dependency of Dahis. The thorough investigation led by the Navy found that the corvette used in the attack, the SREV Aintisari, was in command of Captain Gurab Eckram. Further investigation by authorities investigating the attack indicated that Captain Eckram himself was not responsible for the attack, but rather a shell-frame model had mimicked him. When Elyran authorities approached the shell it opened fire on military police with internal weapons from beneath it’s synthetic skin. The mimic fatally wounded two military policemen before fleeing the scene. Pursuing Special Response Units were eventually able to disable the shell using ranged electromagnetic weaponry. After a thorough investigation of the mimic's positron, authorities were able to confirm that the machine had been taking the place of Captain Gurab Eckram for at least a month before the incident. Further data extraction revealed the location of Captain Eckram’s remains. Further investigation and prying had revealed it to be in use of and owned by The Dahis Republic military with the intent of infiltrating the Elyran Navy. The incident raises numerous concerns among the government, many believing that this is a cause for action against The Dahis Dependency. Dahis Republic Officals are yet to speak on this. The Prime Minister is expected to deliver a press conference soon.
  9. Backstory edited and expanded as suggested.
  10. More people would mine if it wasn't trash.
  11. I agree with this. While as engineering a explosion is fucking annoying to deal with, as with most issues, I prefer the sink taking a shitload of power then blowing up to it constantly draining power while hidden in some tiny alcove that engineering can't find.
  12. BYOND Key: CAnon35 Character Names: Eizki Yazikra, Azeazekal Karnaikai Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Red. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Vaurca are a interesting and different race compared to the others. They're one of the most alien alongside the vox and diona. On top of that, their lore is interesting and well developed to me. They're a fresh breath of air after playing similar species for so long. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Vaurca are radically different than humans. No sense of loyalty or showmanship, the bound exist merely as tools to the unbound, They're focused on their goals and commands of their betters and place their identity within their hive rather than themselves. While the unbound are more human like, they're still experiencing a culture shock among the new species. Character Name: Za'Akaix'Rok Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs A singular click, and Rok's paradise was gone. Retreated into his mind for years to live in a paradise as Titan Prime went through the stars. Now he was suddenly back. No more VR, and soon to vacate the ship. Taking his first awkward steps, Rok realized something quick. He was one of the last in the room to leave his pod. Settling back into the rhythm of 2000 years ago, Rok walked throughout the ancient vessel. Taking note of the changes over the millennia. Infomation moved through his mind as he processed it. 2000 years. New species. New system. New orders. New home. Rok cursed his new world. He cursed the ones around him, the xenos and fellow vaurcae, and he cursed his stiff and awkward body. The hive of Biesel was a strange one. Rok disliked it. Those few xenos who came by him stare and glare. They all hold different thoughts in their mind. Few wanted to help. Few saw that Rok was not a mindless tool like the bound and could be a ally or aid. There were those who could help, The ones who would allow Rok to progress as far as he could in this alien space. The hive of NanoTrasen. Tying around his loose cloak and adjusting his blinders, Rok waited for the close star in the odd sky to fade away. Odd that humans paid it no mind. The idea of a radiation blasting star this close to a inhabited world was insanity. With street lights it was hard enough to walk at night, but the sun burnt his eyes to near blindness. When it did not shine in day, it rained. The invading droplets bombarding Rok and splattering his precious cloak. Rok wished for the feel of the tunnels. The tighter spaces instead of the wide streets. The cave overhead that made him feel safe. Tunnel jobs were not for him, but oh how he wished he could have been a worker. Rok steeled his mind against those thoughts as the sun fell. No rain this night. Stepping out in his mottled cloak, Rok explored the streets he could. Passing by the noble IAC and aid workers, he found his goal. A building with the sign NanoTrasen Recruitment Center. Rok clicked together his mandibles and entered. "So." a human across the counter calmly stated, dressed in a odd suit that the important humans always seemed to wear. "You can't mine?". "No. Not worker." was the quick reply. The Tau Ceti basic of the humans was awkward. Stilted. Not meant for Vaurca. Rok detested it almost as much as he detested the bright white lamps overhead. Going through the motions, the human slowly went down a list of postings. One by one were they denied, until he had reached one opening. "How about this? NanoTrasen station security. You sit in a office, sometimes kill carp that sometimes come by, and just stand around watching people. How's that?". A single word question came from Rok "Zzztation?". The human looked over at Rok, quickly adjusting himself to avoid looking directly at the insectoid face. "Yeah, yeah. Station. It's a tight metal pressurized building in space. Held in one space, transports by shuttle or gateway. A little dark, but I think you wouldn't mind. Plus, you get to meet new people every shift..". Rok thought it over in his mind. Going back to the days he could remember. 2000 years ago, from what felt like such a long amount of time now. The tunnels, the low lighting. the tight spaces of his old hive. Could he find it on this station? "Yezzz. Will take.". The human grinned, pulling out a pen and paper. Motioning to a blank space with the pen he hesitated while handing it to Rok. "You know how to write your name, right?". Rok nodded and took the pen. What do you like about this character? He's straight to the point and holds loyalty to NT through the hive. He'll fill out orders to the best of his ability and will step down when ordered to or when needed.. On top of that, he's different from my usual characters personalty wise. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10 Notes: I prefer to build my backstories off experiences on station, as I've done with my unathi before. It's a bit awkward for me to formulate a full backstory before even playing the character.
  13. You should probably add that unathi have another language that was primarily spoken in the now gone kingdoms. Other than that, good job on this.
  14. I was going to post in this thread, but I realized we sadly no longer have pictures of my lizard.
  15. I unironically want a day or week with no rules.

    Shield room

That mapping suggestion between the core and teleporter looks like a pretty good idea to me. And yes, a dedicated shield room would be a nice addition to have.
  17. Hide in the frozen forests of Michigan, bring my followers and AKs with me. Set up snow traps and defences to prepare for the incoming blitzkreig.
  18. I set up my supplies in a shitty basement of a foreclosed house in Flint Michigan, and begin to preach to the water starved people about the VILE bourgeoisie who took their pure water.
  19. If there's a slot open, PM me.
  20. I try to get parts and supplies to create a AK factory.

    Fax Machines.

Minor suggestion. As it rests now, fax machines are locked behind a ID and only certain roles (Warden, Captain, command, etc) can use them. The fax machine isn't some console that can blow apart all the cyborgs or a machine that can gib anyone from across the station. It should not have a ID lock. What's the use of a fax machine in the vacant office if no one can even use it?
  22. I would play, but I have a pirated copy.
  23. Delta hit the nail on the head. You hardly see decent cargo nowadays, and even then miners are much rarer (Maybe because shitty bay mining?). This change would relieve a lot of headaches for roboticists players, and make things less of a stress for cargo.
  24. Bumping this, it's still a annoyance and issue with mining.
  25. Yes, for the love of god, please. I play roboticst half the time I'm on the server, and the material costs always piss me off. Even if mining is working, you usually only get one crate of materials to share between RnD and robotics. With xenobiology barely helping either, it's a big annoyance asking mining to get more materials when they would rather ignore you and keep fucking around on station.
