As the title reads! Please be honest, but gentle. I'm squishy! Thanks ^^

1) we knew they were armed so were we. 2) falls into the same category as numbed one 3) i discovered the nuke while sniffing around their ship which is when priorities shifted massively. During that time i saw no signs of life, sprinted back a few paces for the tank and proceeded. To a quick smash and grab while they were supposed to be raiding the station. It was just south of us from the surface cargo level. We were investigating the breach in the window with a welder tank a half screen away so ot wasn't out of the way to get. Security had been barely trying to hold together in the crossfire round or so it sounded. The nuke was haphazardly left in the cockpit of the ship. The welder tank was placed away where it would create a small hole away from where the nuke was sitting. Miners make holes. It would have been no different then planting one of the seismic charges that we get It was an easy grab to which once my char had grabbed it, he started yelling to the AI for help on what to do with it. As far as the fight with the raiders? Yes we knew they were armed. So were we. We also thought they were still on station. When they came out right as we blew a hole in their ship, they were bumbling over each other outside of the cover of their ship were mainly perusing the Unathi leaving their ship behind. I had a jetpack and superior range while they were leaving every advantage they had behind so my char had quite a bit of confidence until he was shot. Once hit, i grabbed the nuke and left. Gave the Unathi who slugging out with the vox a few shots in support and continued on. No idea what happened to the second one. Didn't wait to see. What my character did know was a hostile force was actively engaging the station and had a potential weapon of mass destruction sitting in their laps so his mindset was to take their toy before they realized it. And he did versus giving them a chance to use it.

BYOND Key: Abigbear Staff BYOND Key: Drwago Game ID: b3d-djgj Reason for complaint: Warning applied for finding the nuke while investigating a breach and stealing it back. They said we were valid hunting and avoiding fear rp while going out of our skillset. My character had a sniper rifle. He had material scanners combo'd with mesons on and saw the nuclear device. No doors or activity was happening inside the shuttle. He reported it but was afraid they'd come back to stop them or detonate the device so he seized the opportunity to crack it open on the far side with a welder tank with another unathi miner. At this point their airlock opened and two raiders charged out firing. My char fired a few pot shots and jetpacked away. My companion however was on a void bike and could not escape as easily so he engaged. I dropped back down further away and used the scope to help him. I was fired at and when a spike thrower impaled me I decided it was time to go and jetpacked out of the line of sight, dropped down, stole the nuke and left. I'm not sure how this is avoiding fear RP as when you see a device with a massive nuclear symbol on it, you don't need any special training or skillsets to know it will kill everyone. It was *not secured to the floor* and the intent was to heist the heisters while they were supposed to be inside the station. We had been told to arm ourselves prior by security and did so. My character chose a rifle with a scope. No advanced combat tactics other than using a scope and his jetpacks to move away from his attackers were used, CQC never happened and he engaged at a range where he had a clear advantage and was not being fired on, then fucked off. The unathi miner however, steam rolled them with a void bike and an axe/shotgun. The nuke was unsecured and plainly visible. I used jetpacks to avoid most of the conflict going into steal it as I went in and got out. The raiders airlock was on a different side and they were mainly fighting the miner. My combat engagement was mostly support from range and the raiders decided to leave the safety of their ship to attack us which was a massive mistake giving us a wide open steal the nuke flag. Thanks.

So riddle me this. The QM is responsible for the cargo dept and mining running efficiently and doing their job... except they can't actually do anything if they don't. Sure they can go whine to an HoP or Captain... assuming they're lucky enough to have one? What so they do when they do not? They are tasked with a department and given responsibility to run it with no authority. Make it a command roll. Easy fix. HoP already has enough to deal with imho.

It doesnt make sense in xeno races especially. Id also add give them diff organs but thats a diff subject. I like the option to select not having it a lot.

[Accepted] Naelynn Skrell Application
Bear replied to Naelynn's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I like this char concept. The app seems solid and Aquuore seems like an interesting char. Cam also vouch for Naelynn's RP ability having really enjoyed her endeavour into the Unathi, would love to see her as a skrell! +1 -
Easy +1, The goret is a fantastic player, mod, and person. Great at teaching and guiding, more than capable of taking control of situations and wrangling it together. I'd love to see them play command.
-
I think its a creative take to a personal item. I'd love to see it IG, can see it facilitating rp and getting people's attention and interacting with your char. +1

[ACCEPTED]ShesTrying to Be a BUG
Bear replied to ShesTrying's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Voa is creepy as all bugs are adorable and I see this going horribly wonderfully in so many ways with the touching. +1. -
Id love to see the scouts added
-
Agreed. Definitely open to suggestions on things to add or remove from this as well.
-
I have! And while I like the concept of the scout team (a lot) my hesitation with it is a second militia being too quick to form, a nanotrasen rep not leading the team, and then the command rework im not sure on. This is a much milder suggestion that could still get things rolling!

Ive seen a lot of people adopt this layout already. It frees up much needed space.

TLDR: Create a role and give some basic gear to help get expeditions off the ground and actually happening. WHAT: A designated leader role: "Away Team Specialist" for expeditions tasked with organizing a team quickly and getting the shuttle out the door. WHY: Expeditions aren't happening nearly as often as they could be. With the RD currently leading this issues with solo command on top of managing a department and getting it setup to either operate without you or finding someone competent and trusted enough to lead it in your stead is a massive barrier to them. Away missions have tons of rp potential and should be used way more often! Besides. Sending a command member with several PhDs and the only reliable person capable of fixing the AI is silly. They're far too valuable. Having someone who is designated and trained to lead it makes so much more sense. HOW: Rework the office space near the research shuttle for the lead with a few lockers of softsuits, rods, and basic gear like radios, basic tools, med kits, and flashlights. Give the lead command access and a las pistol they must keep holstered. Loyalty implant? And make it clear they have no authority on station affairs. Whitelist? Note: Ive had a ton of fun on expeditions. Theyve got great rp potential but they almost never happen during my playtime. This is my suggestion on how to make it happen more. Be gentle!

I will literally always be done researching beyond anything cargo sends me before it reaches me every single time. Having been delving into the cargo realm recently theres a lot for the tech to sort thro. Organize and then mail independently

10 minutes would be great. Especially for boneheads like me who ready under the wrong char all the time

[Denied] Bygonehero Command Whitelist
Bear replied to Bygonehero's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1 Dedicated RP'r, have observed them being more than capable of task delegation and role administration while driving the story forward. Long term player who will and has done just fine. -

+1 from me. Solid rp'r who I've observed performing greatly in tense situations. Positive influence on the community. Think they're more than capable. -
The 1st Quest of the Tau Ceti Kataphract (Picnic From Heck)
Bear commented on an event in Event Calendar
Yahir Na'Zirah, Shaft Miner, Witness: "He volunteered to join hunt along with others from the Aurora. He was a late arrival, but he was excited by the prospect and joined eagerly. This was a mistake on his part as he was not prepared for what awaited them on the planet. They gave him an energy glaive, he had never seen one of those before, but he wielded it like any spear. He followed a knight breaking off from the main group to investigate a Cabin while the main hunting party secured the area, they found a survivor inside. He was terrified, but he seemed like a nice man, it is a shame he did not make it. After finding the cabin, the beast found them and showed no mercy. It was terrifying. He stabbed it and shot it a few times, but he saw his allies dropping quickly. It seemed we had no medic with us. So he picked up a medkit from his fellow coworker and began tending the wounded the best he could... he is not a medic, but he was all they had. Many did not make it. For some all he could do was hold them as they passed. It reminds him of things he left back on Adhomai." -
The 1st Quest of the Tau Ceti Kataphract (Picnic From Heck)

Had a blast, the monster was OP AF but it really made you consider your engagement routes and how bad you wanted that kill. A lot of people paid for it, quickly turned it from a hunt into a horror-survival scenario. Also had fun getting my ass valided by the TCFL. Fun event all around -
'Bear is a menace' Tajara Application
Bear replied to Bear's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
What is sad is that the typo on Crevus was caught when I had someone proof read it for me too :c Thought I saved the correction. And it was supposed to read "..cried out to the Ma'ta'ke.." signifying he cried out to all of them during his soul searching. Sorry! 1) Yahir is tired of the conflict. He was an idealist as he began, however, partaking in it has shaken him to his core. That being said, at current date his ideals now align with the National Adhomai Worker's Party and he still sides with the DPRA especially with freedom and self-determination being the center of their ideology as well as the goal of dismantling the cast system. 2) He believes in the Ma'ta'ke. His family, traditionally, claimed Mata'ke as their patreon and so growing up Yahir did the same though he was not an avid or dutiful worshipper. However, in his current time of turmoil he has found himself truly searching his beliefs and has been praying to Marryam for her wisdom.and guidance. 3) His primary goal in Tau Ceti is a fresh start and a new life. Terrified that his desertion had been or will be discovered accompanied with the guilt of what he had done, fleeing to Tau Ceti without a trace (while extremely to leave his family and village behind) seemed the best option to him. Taking a new career path, he isn't sure what the long term future has in store for him and so he focuses on the pursuit of life and happiness once more. -
Yep. My clock time is 12-13 minutes. 12 minutes plus im not focusing on rp happening around me. Please.
