I did not know this. I thought they were the same one as I never actually got eyes on the other one then. I feel even worse about that.

BYOND Key: abigbear Staff BYOND Key: pratepresidenten Game ID: ccC-dqNk Reason for complaint: I hate writing these, and I want to preface that I think prate is a fantastic admin regardless of the outcome. But I want to contest this warning as I feel the context of point of view here is important. In this round, a burglar became a high priority target, got into a scuffle, and became subject to a tear gas grenade. So there is a story ahead. Leading up to the events, a burglar had boarded the station posing as an undocumented security officer in armor. They had broken into the vault quietly, got caught and yeeted the entire security team with a bluespace inhibitor in preparation for what I assume was their own teleportation shenanigans. I found myself stuck in the medical basement and had the cmo come dig me out. Made my way upstairs and come to see the burglar in the pharmacy drenched in blood. I then hear the pharmacist is hurt over comms and go to intervene. Here is where perspective comes into play. The antag's sprite is doing melee lunge animations, however their target is past my view range. I called out to the antag and got no response. A medic asked them what they were doing and got no response. But the antag was still posting at his victim. From our point of view it looked like we were actively being ignored. Hesring the pharmacist was hurt, factoring the vault break, factoring the teleport memes, and that they were armored with an exposed face i opted to start with a tear gas grenade. I prime it and then this is where the antag and his new hostage comes into my view range though he us still unarmed. However I am now committed and in the pharmacy, the antag's back is to me. So I am my pistol, movement triggers a fire not that this mattered at this point as the grenade was active. The grenade pops and I tag another shot while charging up, and the antag teleports away and I did not persue just yet as I had tear gassed the pharmacist as well who was bleeding. The antag did not teleport far however and I found them detained after handing the pharmacist off to an intern. It looks like we were just ignored from this angle. What i could not see was the pharmacist fighting the antag during this entire time in a situation I assumed the antag had complete control over and the injured pharmacist had only actually been struck a couple of times despite the blood pools on the floor making it look far worse than it was. I do genuinely feel bad for this burglar. If I had been able to see this, I would not have instantly engaged and given this antagonist more time. But I can only operate off of what I can see. The role of the job is to protect the crew. So I operated on what I thought was best on the knowledge I had. Here is the excerpt from my vantage point attached to this. I understand prate's points. And he brings up a good point about assumptions. It does make an ass out of everyone after all and if I had been able to see the whole thing I would have taken a far different approach. But as I could not see the victim, or the attack logs in live time, I had to make a judgment call using only a basic security kit with non lethal armaments to protect what I thought was a helpless medical professional and don't want another warning when I have been trying really hard to keep my nose clean. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: Sorry for the fuss. And again I do feel bad for the antagonist and apologize for shutting them down.

Lancer's Synthetic Developer Application
Bear replied to The lancer's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Having worked with Lancer for almost two years now, it's very easy to endorse him. As competent team leader, a fantastic team player, and a creative individual, Lancer has more than shown his worth to the staff team. I think his ideas tend to be not only be creative but also unique and well written. +1 -
Only way to combat the skrell as ninja...

I've had a lot of friends takw this route and a lot of friends subsequently get burned out and stop playing entirely. I know you tend to be very drama adverse and worry how you will handle the stickier situations when it comes to ooc drama and complications. I say this because you are a player I would hate to see go. BUT, these are points you addressed at the end of your application. You're a phenomenal roleplayer and have a good understanding of the rules and expectations and I have nothing but positive things to say about you. +1

Having a direct hand in helping Ramke design this I MIGHT be a little biased but personalized cloaks are more than thematic and fitting for our ever-fond dirt noble's in the NKA and no royal igloo would be complete without one. Ramke's character Valetzrhonaja is a well diverse char and it certainly fits the older ties that she'd hold a family heirloom such as this. Big +1 from me.

Omicega -- Command Whitelist Application
Bear replied to Omicega's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
having interacted with them as command its an easy +1. Rolled with the punches on several hectic rounds including one under the heavy noncanon scrutiny of my HoS on a traitor round. Communicative, composed, and able to handle stress. Nothing more needed to paly command. +1 -
2 dismissals Remove Slugs from the Hacked Autolathe Menu.
Bear replied to Butterrobber202's topic in Archive
They should at least be removed from the autolathe imho. Making them orderable is not a bad idea, the issue is it is simply ammunition and as is brought up there is little to stop it from being ordered. The LWAP has the barrier of cost. A 9k gun is not easy to come by without the checks and balances of another command member, typically a HoP or Captain. Raising slugs to cost that much is not as viable either but they could at least still be made expensive. It would at least add a few more steps, much like the bullpups which I suppose is not a bad compromise. -

Modify the Uniform Regulations for the Head of Security
Bear replied to DeadLantern's topic in Rejected Policy
Have to put a -1 to this after a long debate with myself. In a perfect world we would write a policy on acceptable dress. However, this is not a perfect world and we already have too much information overload, adding a comprehensive list on appropriate dress for this role is not realist. Furthermore, the Head of Security is expected to intervene, unlike forensics or investigations. This is the deciding factor in my -1. The HoS is still a combatant role with access to the entire department's supply of weaponry along with the warden and is expected to coordinate their team in response to threats to the station. Secondly. there are few roles that need to be immediately identifiable. Like security officers, this is one of them. As someone who *loves* creative freedom with uniforms. This is one of the *few* roles I cannot say I approve of it being laxed. It starts a bad precedent that will lead to more conflicts that good in the long run in my opinion. -
KingOfThePing's All Seeing AI Application
Bear replied to KingOfThePing's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
KingofthePing is another long term player that has brought quality to the table in all regards. Definitely trustworthy for the whitelist. +1 -
Another easy +1. Olivia's play across the board is always consistently fun and friendly. Their AI play is no exception, and they're more than trustworthy to have the whitelist.

The Stryker's (mistake) AI Application

Anything that could be said was all ready said. Anyone who's interacted with Stryker's AI, Charles, over the last few years already knows the quality Stryker brings to this table. +1 -
Chen Wants To Beep: AI Edition
Bear replied to Chen Yakumo's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Another solid +1, Chen is a fantastic player. I've seen their AI play and it's solid. Not one to abuse the abilities given and typically creative to interact with focusing on crew interaction versus antag ability. Strongly recommend for the whitelist. -
A former admin and a friend, Cnaym's gameplay is solid. Their AIs have been one that is never a trouble to play with. They still remember how to HRP and not scream about undetected mercs in the bridge who just stepped out of the tunnels. A solid +1

Hi I also played this round and many more. I want to address two points in this both in agreement with some of the above and also elaboration that I think is needed. Firstly I do not think Yermak is just space Alex Jones. I have been observing their roleplay and have interacted with them at several points through several several rounds. Their conspiracy theories are wacky, sure, but they're always immersed in lore elements and engaging to anyone that wishes to interact with them. But the character does exist beyond his conspiracies. They have likes, dislikes, opinions, negative traits such as mild racism, Tajaran propaganda influence, along with more. I do not think this goes beyond our definition of reasonable characters. This leads into the next point of him being disruptive this round and going full bunker mode. A vamp clearly went after him and failed or whatever. Instead of going to most obvious routes as every vampire rounds go of SEC HELP MAINT, they used IC elements such as Raskaren lore and other elements to try and rally his common man against what they perceived as an unholy threat. They were being shut down by command and assumed command was involved. It all seemed very IC, even more so than just ha ha funny crazy conspiracy meme. The char may be a bit more out there then our standard average joe Auroran, but I have enjoyed their presence and have not seen them as rule breaking in any of my experiences with them.

Reporting Personnel: Zahiid Al-Mrrhalgr Job Title of Reporting Personnel: First Responder Game ID: caD-aKbx Personnel Involved: -Aisha El-Kabir, Drill Technician, Victim -Takiyah El-Amin, Shaft Miner, Victim -Dekel Mrrhazrughan, Warden, Offender Secondary Witnesses: -Yhara Atiyeh, Cheif Medical Officer, Witness -ISU-Pulsar, Security Officer, Witness -NT-Disp, Security Officer, Witness Time of Incident: Real Time: 0600 GMT, 2/16/21 Location of Incident: Medical Lobby, Medical GTR. Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [x] - Neglect of Duty [x] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [x] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: Two miners came to the medbay for psychiatric treatment after being instructed by some robot, not really sure what, did not bother involving himself other than saying they could wait in the medical bay until a psychiatrist woke up if they did not feel okay to return back to work. At some point the quartermaster that shift came demanding they return back to work to fill the phoron bounty list on the bounty sheet despite the pair having already delivered materials. This is not relevant to the IR beyond setting a basis for what occurred next after they opted to wait in the medical bay. The quartermaster returned with the Warden, Dekel to try and force the matter. The Chief Medical Officer was busy handling a serious security matter not related to this IR, and could not be present to mediate the issue at the time. The CMO, however, did order over the comms for it to be dropped and for the warden to leave after this one reported they would not leave the lobby. The Warden seemed intent in forcing his way, and to de-escalate the situation before it became a bigger issue, the rest of the medical team allowed the miners inside the medbay to avoid this confrontation. The warden, instead of backing off as ordered, decided to force his way into the GTR and continue to demand they leave, despite two security officers, DISP and Pulsar requesting they stop trespassing and leave. It does not matter what patients have come to the medbay for, or the severity of their illness when it comes to security. If the issue was minor, such things could be handled by management when time was appropriate. The warden overruling officers to write their own warrants on the fly, despite never producing them, and break into a department despite a command order to leave, is not appropriate and raises serious concerns with their interpretation of professional conduct at the workplace, and judgement of the situation as they forced two officers to be pulled away from a serious security matter for this trivial situation. Submitted Evidence: N/A Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: Yhara eventually came BACK from a sensitive and unrelated situation to resolve the situation, however, an unrelated security situation interrupted, forcing all parties to leave before a resolution could be found. Byond key: abigbear Discord key: Bear#0117 Character Name: Rajka Kaljurl'zar Item name: HEV-3 helmet, HEV-3 Voidsuit Item function(s): Mechanically: It's a voidsuit for Tajara, nothing more. A custom tailored voidsuit built to maximize comfort while maintaining a hypoallergenic environment. Item description: -Helmet: A Hephaestus Environmental Voidsuit variant tailored to Tajara, complete with temperature-circulation auxiliaries, spacious helmet interior to minimize friction, and complete anti-microbial filtration systems. -Suit: A Hephaestus Environmental Voidsuit variant tailored to Tajara, complete with temperature-circulation auxiliaries, heat exchange coils, anti-friction and anti-microbial fabric, and moderate grade external reinforcement for all your industrial EVA activities. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: Like every Tajara affected by the second revolution, Rajka was no exception, being left in the wake of destruction finding himself burned, disfigured, and left prone to respiratory infections and other minor illnesses. The slightly custom tailored voidsuit allows him to work and maintain a somewhat normal life in a work field where he is capable. How did your character obtain this item: Taking employment with Hephaestus Industries, special needs were considered and handled when an older model environmental suit was acquired and tailored to the case. This came, however, at a steep cost in the form of a lengthy contract with Hephaestus Industries, serving as an industrial miner. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: The northern continent of Ras'nrr was subjected to some of the most horrific moments in recent Tajaran histories. The suit itself is a play on some of those moments and will allow me to represent the effects and consequences such times had. Quizosa is a moment scarred into the memories of all Tajara as both a travesty and a warning of what can and will come should Tajara not be careful. Having lived through it, the suit will be a part of the entire character, their story telling, and a consequence of his experiences. Sprites: (The sprites are specifically for the GREEN set in this DMI, I'm just unrobust and do not know how to split them) Additional Comments: I have no preferences on the exact values, I basically just figured it could be a replacement to the typical mining suit for snowflake points, however, you're free to add whatever values you feel is appropriate to it.

Hard disagree. I think the game mode needs work, and a big change to the ability of the antag's ability to story tell (or lack thereof in it's current form). But removing it only will turn it into malf. Basically nonexistant.

[Resolved] Player(s) Complaint - Group of Mercs
Bear replied to DatSamTho's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
To clarify, I did, as HOS communicate we would beat the 50 grand. I was moving to withdraw the station funds when I was gunned down. My issue in this as the HoS who got shot is not the ERT players or the Antags, rather the highest bidder mentality. I would like to see that changed, perhaps in the wording that's given from the ERT. The wordless shooting was a gamer moment and everyone CM brained on it. Not that big of a deal in the end. Accidents happen. At the end of the day the freelancer swapped sides to remember no russian for 50k plus whatever they found in command. So let's say they took the entire station funds. 75k plus another 50k for a total of 135k. It used to be a cred its what? 3 creds to a dollar. That sums up to about 45 grand for a full team to split which comes down to about 11k per team member, assuming it's even a fair split, in trade for their entire reputation in known space against one of the largest megacorps and enter life as branded pirates. And that is where the issue lies imho. It's not unique to this round specifically. But rather the way freelancer ERT is as a whole. We see this happen all the time and it's not good for the round. As a command player, when I saw the contractors bidding with the antags. I had 0 reason IC'ly not to walk to the bridge and hit the evacuation shuttle. Our rescue was no longer reliable and my concern is the crew as well as the station which I can no longer defend. This is also not good for the round or the antags who have invested in the round. I'm not saying ERT needs to be paladin knights who only come to left click the antag until horizontal. But typically, if ERT is called, having them left click a disabled crew as well doesn't seem like the best idea either. But that is just my take on a very short run in this round. -
Supported this prior to the whitelist, support it now. They play a phenomenal command player in my opinion.
