  1. As a security player, I don't like this idea. We have enough problems with antags already. For example; in high pop rounds, where auto traitors creates a legion of them. Besides that, sometimes the crew itself can be a problem, no need to add more self-antaging or chucklefuck potential to where it happens a lot. Also, people can just pick this job to do antags related things without being one itself.
  2. Same situation with wizards that can't be stopped by tasers and etc, which keep teleporting. You killed people, even if they were cloned, stole high risk item, assaulted and eventually killed the crew, resisted arrested and messed with the AI laws. So, if you can't stop the teleporting intruder with taser and he goes to eva, while you are inside the station and taser hits won't stop him, well, switching to lethals is nothing more than fair.
  3. Bay has something like that, when you examine a non-humam after its names shows the species they belong, for example; This is Urist MacLizard, an unathi.
  4. Aaron Hawkins - Martian human miner, know for his peculiar speech pattern. Sslazhir Yinzr - Moghean unathi security officer/cargo tech. Dimah Akhatov - Zhan-Khazan Tajara engineering apprentice. Raniyah Al-Hamdani - Njarir'Akhran Tajara investigator/forensic technician/warden. Ioannis - IPC chaplain, designed originally to be a embalmer. Luctus - Mining/engineering android, probably an ipc in a near future. Zairjah - IPC roboticist.

They are missing sprites and organs, I think, there is an ipc placeholder sprite.
  6. But, the ipcs can have mmis in the place of the posibrain, so, they could be human, unathi or tajaran brains, which would know the language, by the way.
  7. BYOND Key: Alberyk Character Names: Aaron Hawkins, Luctus, Sslazhir Yinzr, Dimah Akhatov and Raniyah Al-Hamdani. How long have you been playing on Aurora: Around six or seven months. Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Because synthetics are interesting characters, mostly because of their robotic nature and several mannerism linked to them. IPC, unlike the borgs, are not bound by laws, still they care a lot of characteristics from their synthetic nature. Also, they offer a lot of opportunities to build different characters, since lack of general guidelines for their manners and can have several particular different personalities. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Because, unlike all other races, the ipcs are fully synthetic and no bound by any laws or to any AI at all. Also, they possess a lot of particular and different mechanic and lore-related differences. So, their interactions with their surroundings and other characters are quite unique. For example, they feel no pain or don’t need to breath, but, they can be heavily damaged from EMP and overheat without pressure. At all they feel like a really different and unique race. Character Name: Ioannis Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Ioannis V2.01 is a bespoke artificial intelligence, which was designed for a funeral company at Biesel, which mainly duties were working as a mortician, or as an embalmer. Due to such, Ioannis has designed to know all the intricate knowledge related to its trade, such as the anatomy of the human body, chemical compounds and several surgical steps to repair the damaged corpses. And thanks to its robotic nature, it was able to work without any kind of repulse or rest, being able to perform his duties don't matter the time or situation. Due to its work related to the death, Ioannis was designed to posses a lack of emotions and coldness, but, at same time, being able to hold a high standard of ethics and understanding of the organic’s morals. However, with the time and since it was a lawless chassis, Ionnais started to grow its own opinions and personal views, but, without letting such taint its work. But, with the time, its model was become more obsolete and it was relieved from its duty at the funeral company. Ioannis was unable to find another purpose for its existence, since such, it roamed several places and offered its services to different contractors. Until, it was contracted to work with NanoTrasen as a counselor/chaplain, because, death can be still common in the harsh void of space. What do you like about this character? It is a rather different aspect of the chaplain role, which is to hold funeral, and since Ioannis holds no religion views, it would just play a more technical role in the funeral. Also, in certain kind of types of gamemodes, the morgue can be quite full, and disposing of the old bodies or giving funeral to them can lead to interesting rp. Besides that, chaplain/counselors that are not fully focused in religion can be quite interesting. How would you rate your role-playing ability? It is a rather tricky question, but, I believe that most people are able to enjoy the interactions that they have with my characters or the plotlines that I am able to draw ingame. Notes:
  8. Aaron Hawkins - Badass Grandpa - Sir Swears-a-Lot / Gosh Dang It to Heck!
  9. Besides what Sue said, you have to stand still, have a clear shoot and you can only fire when you are using the scope. It deals around 60 of burn damage, stuns, applies weaken and make you stutter. It should be used only when really necessary, like wizards fireballing everything and just using jaunt when meet.
  10. I was a not aware that the nukes ops were at the command pod, so I didn't exactly plan to flank them, I was returning from the core, because the officers said that the operatives were inside the station, but, anyway, seeing the situation ghosting after being killed makes more sense shooting at Yinzr right straight. Also, due to the lack of comms, I was really unware of how the confrontation between both forces were unfolding. Still, one of the nuclear operatives shoot Essel with lethals, if his energy carbine was empty or anything, that is quite clear, since, she was running from them. About "speedmurder, I get boinked and yelled at too. The only issues I kinda had with the round was the surrendering officer being shoot twice, which can be due to how aiming works, and Essel being shoot with the smg. But, anyway, I kinda understand that you all had to deal with a lot of problems, such as squad members getting lost, like what happened to the diona, and etc. Nuke rounds can be a messy and people can be salty due to the heat of the moment.
  11. Ipcs have a high internal temperature. Use a health scanner on them to see so.
  12. It is at his spriter application; http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=903
  13. Login:Hadassah Password:******* >Login accepted People’s Strategic Information Service No Hidden Amongst the Stars "Agent Hadassah speaking, she infiltrated inside the NSS Aurora as a security officer, however Hadassah was a bit late. She tried to gather more information, but, they had problems with power and the engine. Then, due the failure of the field, the singularity was released and evacuation was called. Hadassah tried to put her plans to work, but, found some problems, and the head of security tried to stop Hadassah, but, she fires better, killed the head of security and then, she ran into the shadows, leaving on a pod. She didn't steal or got anything, but, killed head of security, matter something, yes?"
  14. The problem, furry, is that he charged at someone without any weapon, just using disarm. Yinzr never do it, no one wants to be shoot by lasers or bullets, when I am going to fight, I am not going to fight unarmed, even if the only thing I have is the baton, just going ahead and disarming is bad. Also, in that said round, I was playing another character, a m'sai tajara sec officer, I didn't charge at the ninjas unarmed and neither I did tried to steal their weapons to bash them with it. When I have a gun and I see that someone unarmed is getting too near, I just shoot. Mirk had rng luck and probably the player was not really to murder him right there, so, that is why he managed to put him down. There is a difference between pushing or punching someone that is fighting at melee with you, with something like a wrench or a stool, but, charging at someone with a gun and just disarming then, well, it is kinda bad. I don't think the problem is robusting people, but, the way you do so. In that said ninja round, I fought against the ninjas using only the carbines, never getting in melee or even in any direct contact physical with them. Yinzr can be bold and prideful, but, it gets him killed a lot, but, I never ever try to run toward people with gun and just disarm them with barehands, if I am trying some kind of thing, I am using at least the stun-baton, but, it will probably end with Yinzr dying or getting really hurt.
  15. In a malf round, the standard module is my favorite, just because of the energy sword. Also, since they have a fire extinguisher, eva is not a problem for them.
  16. We have maint drones, you can join as one without a roboticist building a shell, anyway.
  17. Zubari is fun to rp with, also, it is a really interesting character and an unathi with a background that explains his detachment from the unathi culture at all. Anyway, we played sec together a lot, fighting nuke ops, traitor, vox and all the lot. I support this application.
  18. Yes, because in every mutiny round everyone should be against the captain and just be the same thing everytime, so, there would be non-conflict and the mutiners can always win. You got flashed after your batoned someone, which means you started the hostily and gave us the righ to stun you. Also, let me remember you that borgs can't be stunned like most mobs, neither cuffed, so, how can we stop the robust sec borg from stunning and cuffing someone? I am sorry, but the way that borgs work, it is quite hard to don't take such actions, I have seen sec borgs take down antags without words and just charge at things that would murder the shit out of most players. Also, we didn't kill Roadman while he was afk, we waited him to return, aimed our weapons to him, told things over the radio, then he turned back and ran. I can't say for the other officers in said round, but I was planning to rp the executions, rather than just plain murderbone.

    Minor Suggestions

I am sure they do, I played csi yesterday and my character started with one.
  20. You can just remove the old cell with a screwdriver, put it at a recharger, grab a new one and then go on.
  21. Most of my interactions with OneWingedMajora were fun and really pleasant in the rp aspect of it, so they are a capable roleplayer. Besides that, we need more skells, and the character proposed in the application is also an interesting one, mostly because I like when the species characteristics play an important role on it, like the skrell tendencies to rational and scientific thinking.
  22. Ana has attacked with lethals by the captain, medical had to stick her in cryo to heal the injuries, also the face was melted, and Yinzr had a revolver because he was a traitor, no one else had single lethal weapon, they went to arrest them using the standard sec gear, taser and the flashbang. The captain and the head of security were killed by an antag interference(with a revolver), at no point the non-traitor officers used lethal force against the command staff.
  23. Right, I was involved in this, so, giving my verdict is something that should be done. The rp torture is fine, so, same as the reason for Yinzr and Ana arresting them. But, the issue is using lethals against officers, when one of them was just using a taser. I didn't ahelp, because I was too busy dealing with ic problems, and neither know if Sue did at the time. But, if Yinzr has not antag and didn't had a lethals weapon at the time, what could happen. Also, using laser against an officer would be going against your own implant, since, you are damaging NanoTrasen assets.
  24. Torture is fine, however, firing lethals at officers as non antags is a stupid thing. The captain fired lethals upon Ana, and if Yinzr was not there, with the revolver, she would be dead.
  25. Still, it bugs me to see people fighting nuclear operatives or lethal armed targets using tasers, so, a nerf would be in place.
