National Assembly Announces Election for the Next Year As President Almrah Harrlala's mandate reaches four years in 2465, the National Assembly gathered today to discuss the next elections. In a similar fashion to the last one, voting will be held at the end of the year. The proposal for the elections was accepted by all representatives present. Each party was allowed to appoint a single candidate. The National Adhomai Worker's Party appointed President Almrah Harrlala for a second term. Harrlala accepted her designation with a speech: The Free Tajaran People's Party elected ex-interim president Brajrr Alnadruskiy as their presidential candidate. Brajrr welcomed their decisions with a statement to the assembly: The Followers of Nated attempted to appoint Supreme Commander Nated. However, he politely refused their suggestion. Maksym Razin, a priest of Mata'ke, was instead. Razin spoke to the assembly: The Adhomian Blue Party elected Bakhteiarova Mirzakhani, an environmental activist and ruralist politician, as their choice. Bakhteiarova then addressed the Assembly: The National Assembly ratified the parties' choices. Supreme Commander Nated promised that the Liberation Army will not interfere in the elections this time. Muharajuurl Muhr'Fal and Rahman Hadjuk agreed to deploy their forces to protect the voters from any harassment. Alexeii K'marr did not comment on the matter. Ahem Kah'nrir dismissed the elections as nothing but a waste of time, claiming that "President Al'mari is the only leader they need".

I agree with the station part. That is why I think living on a ship will help with this. Having a medbay, bar, kitchen and etc makes more sense when you essentially live in your workplace instead of just being something you commute to.

Alberyk Deputy Loremaster Application
Alberyk replied to Alberyk's topic in Developer Applications Archives
I am a bit unsure of what you mean by the pace. If you mean in character development (like articles), we barely had it from half of our lore teams and people are still interested in the lore. If you mean the frequency of development, I also think that implementing my plans would not delay it for the teams that need it. The spring cleaning would also come alongside the history section being updated with the articles that remain canon. So there would be a lore update besides articles being shoved in the non-canon corner. About the question of burnout, it is indeed a good concern. I already suggested somewhere at the application about the creation of a system to let people publish stuff they want/are passionate about if they work before on the less-than-fun parts of their jobs. But we must take into consideration that being a lore writer is a voluntary job, there are also expectations and obligations. -
Queen Shumaila Appoints a New Crown Heir! 27.12.2463 Pressured by the Parliament, Queen Shumaila has proposed the appointment of a new Crown Heir in today's meeting. To everyone's surprise, Her Majesty appointed her five years old cousin, Zhakmar Azunja, as the Crown Heir. Zhakmar, accompanied by his nursemaid, entered the chamber. The Parliament quickly descended into accusations, shouting, and discussions after the suggestions. Many parliamentarians called Her Majesty crazy or denounced it as some sort of prank. Zhakmar, startled by the confusion, began to cry loudly. After order was restored by the Queen's order, she assured the Parliament of her intentions of choosing Zhakmar. A long debate about the laws and search into the candidate's heritage followed. Unable to find anything in the legislature that determined a minimum age for the Crown Heir, the Parliament opened for negotiations with Her Majesty. Zhakmar Ajunja, already asleep, returned to his quarters before the debate began. Queen Shumaila recognized that while her choice was unconventional, she had few options because of her dynasty's reduced numbers. In an attempt to compromise with the Parliament, she suggested the creation of the role of Appointed Regent in cases the underage Heir ascends to the throne. The Appointed Regent would rule in the stead of the King until he can be crowned. Any member of the Parliament could be elected for this position as long as they secured the most votes. With this addition, Her Majesty's appointment was approved by most of the Parliament. Each party then offered their respective leaders for the role of Appointed Regent. Grand Duke Akym Yudenikh spoke first to the Parliament: Grand Admiral Mahtra Dynhaas addressed the Parliament next: Representing the Commoners Party, Prince Serhiy Oliinyk made his statement: Finally, Count Tscherim Sanguszkho was reluctantly given the floor: After the speeches, the Parliament voted to decide on the Appointed Regent. However, the necessary number of votes could not be reached. Queen Shumaila decided to adjourn the meeting. Her Majesty promised to have a Regent chosen next year. A feast celebrating the new Crown Heir will be held at the Royal Palace in a week.

The backstory and other parts of the application could use more work. Tajara also follow the two names model. So, she could not have a single name. I recommend also checking the name guidelines and the notable character section for examples. There is very little of the Tajara lore in the backstory. We don't know anything besides that the character that she is from the pra and studied to be a surgeon. How the Tajaran history and society affected her are not mentioned at all. Things like the two revolutions and the cold war should be present in the backstory. The answer to the questions besides the backstory could be expanded a bit more. It is too brief. Unsure what you mean by Orion. The reason for them to leave to work on thestation are also poorly explained. The lore has a lot of reasons and motives for everyone to leave to Tau Ceti. Taking in consideration these issues and that you have been around the community for less than a month, I will deny this application for now. Feel free to apply later.

Alberyk Deputy Loremaster Application
Alberyk replied to Alberyk's topic in Developer Applications Archives
You play/played a Tajaran character who has/had a human girlfriend, something that is clearly a major taboo in the Tajaran culture (something you should be aware of). Instead of bringing any issues you have with the player, you decide to pm them to dissadue them from doing something (breaking character) while lying about why you were doing that; you said you did not want to lose your character (might be true, but you should still expect some kind of consequence for doing something that is clearly stated as bad) while in fact you had other intentions. You claim to have a problem with a player, and instead of approaching staff, you decide to pm him. I was not protecting anyone, I literally told you to report them if you had a problem, but you can't expect to break the "rules" of the species and just tell people to ignore them. Our conversation: I also did not take this decision alone, in fact, I had a talk with mofo, our loremaster at the time, to see what he thought of your behavior. I am unsure what you expected me to do from you telling me this without taking the proper ways to solve a problem. I am sorry but I can't let people go around pming people to break character. I believe I did what was right and I would do again. -
Alberyk Deputy Loremaster Application
Alberyk replied to Alberyk's topic in Developer Applications Archives
From this reply and others, I think people believes that the job of a loremaster or its deputy is to write for everyone's else, well, it is not. It is to organize the teams, help where it is needed, and write for bigger/more general stuff. I don't plan to go around writing for other species instead of their writers, I plan to organize and facilitate the work of the other teams to make their job easier. Like I pointed out in my application, I worked on non-Tajaran things already like some aspects of Biesel and the megacorporation update. I also wrote other things that are going to be released with NBT. I even tried to help other teams at some point, like by writing some additions to the Elyra, back in the day but it went nowhere since they never looked into what I wrote. My plans are for the whole team. The Tajara lore by far is the one that needs the least work and attention on the administrative side of the things. -
Does it shows your ckey in the ban reason?

Alberyk Deputy Loremaster Application
Alberyk replied to Alberyk's topic in Developer Applications Archives
I plan to tackle one subject at a time. For example, the current project is writing the extranet lore. First, I would identify the topics that must be covered (history, how it works, who controls it, what it is used for), what articles must be reviewed, and what must be written with some basic guidelines. Then delegate to each team to work on a part with a deadline, taking into consideration the team's preferences (if a section touches synthetic lore, the ipc team writes for it). Discussion would be restricted to a single channel where everyone can contribute. After the update is released, I would move to collect feedback from the players using the forums. Implementing the feedback can be done in the same manner that is used for the updates. This method is essentially what we do atm, but I think it needs more a bit more oversight. My statement extends to all lore teams, including the human one. Sol lore is a bit of a mess and fixing it is a daunting task, but very important to our setting. I also think we should incentive other teams to help each other more, something that can be difficult when people are not interested or have enough knowledge to contribute. -
Alberyk Deputy Loremaster Application
Alberyk replied to Alberyk's topic in Developer Applications Archives
I do not have plans on resigning from any of my current positions atm. About the concentration of power, I agree that it can be an issue if the person in question does not recognize the boundaries of each position. The current chain of command of the staff teams divides well who controls what. As the headmin, I don't have any power besides giving my opinion or offering information available to the loremasters. I also think that this is a concern that I am considering currently to see if I move foward with this application or not. This is another factor that I am weighing while I think if I really want to go on with the application. But in theory, yes. My lore time is currently mostly focused on "less busy" tasks, such as writing lore articles, advancing the Tajaran plot, and writing some details. I think I can divide it well without damaging any of the sides. Ultimately, I plan to delegate a lot more instead of doing it all myself. -
Ckey/BYOND Username: Alberyk Position Being Applied For: Deputy Loremaster Have you read the Lore Team Rules and Regulations wiki page?: Yes. Past Experiences/Knowledge: I have been the Tajara lore writer for more than two years. I joined the lore team as a deputy in 2018. So at least four years of lore writing. I have been on the staff team since 2014. I have been the headmin since 2019. I have extensive knowledge of how the code works and a lot of experience in running events. Examples of Past Work: It is a lot. You can check the lore diary or the lore discord announcements channels. I probably touched all Tajara lore pages in the wiki in some way or other. I wrote roughly 30% of all articles we released this year. I ran at least 3 lore arcs since I became the Tajara lore writer. I helped run the KOTW arc as a coder and writer. I also worked with the team on the latests megacorporation and Biesel updates. Criticism of the current state of lore: -It is kinda built on shaky foundations. A lot of stuff is poorly explained and over the place. Examples: extranet, faster than light travel methods, the economy, and some aspects of Biesel itself. -Some lore teams live in maintenance hell. They are unable to do anything besides "fix the mistakes of the past". The more we have, the more work we will have in the future. We need to dial back on expanding to instead concentrate on cultivating what we have and cutting off some needless branches. -There is little interest in writing anything besides what the teams are responsible for. It is how megacorps and Biesel were left so underdeveloped for long. -It is hard to know what is canon or not. The article section is a nightmare. A lot of information is not on the wiki. -The lore canonization section is still underutilized by everyone. It takes too long to get anything reviewed or implemented. The Roadmap/solution to the problems: -First of all, the nbt. It will be here in a few months. We must dedicate the lore team's efforts to help it happen. This will include creating a way to decide where the ship will go, for how long, and what it might do with the lore team. As well as creating the necessary lore pages to explain the ship's mission and its aspects. -Ironing the basic foundations of our lore. It is a lot of work for one or two writers, we must get all of our writers to contribute to this. The current system of assigning teams to work on certain sections has worked fine so far, but I think implementing deadlines that can be reasonably extended is a way to get the final push we need. We need everyone to contribute and agree on the lore that all teams will use to write. -Get the teams to work on their foundations and already existing lore. Adding a new planet when a lot of the lore is poorly explained or conflicts with the rest is just contributing to the problem of maintenance hell. This might sound a bit draconic, but we need tighter control of what is being produced to make sure that the basics are being covered. The planet ban was an okay idea, but I think that a lot more must be done to help with this. I am thinking of goals for the teams to do before they can push their narrative a bit forward or add something they are passionate about. -Get the teams to integrate their articles into the wiki. There is no other way but to get them to work on this above their personal projects and passion. I know it sounds rough, but it is necessary. The article sections must undergo a thorough review by the teams responsible for them. If the article is conflicting with current lore, it can just be moved to the retconned section without much of the bureaucracy reserved for regular retcons. We need to do a spring cleaning on the articles section. -Solve the underutilization of the canonization application section. We really need tighter deadlines. Three months is a lot of time and there is not even a set date to implement anything that was accepted. We had applications waiting for more than one year to be processed. There is no other solution besides being more strict with the writers about this. What do you believe you can bring to the team as Deputy Loremaster: I have experience in management, in pretty much all areas of the staff, and I participate a lot in the community. I know what are the issues, I have ideas of how to solve them, and I am willing to implement my plans. And above all, I want to involve the lore team in doing all of these things. I do not plan to do anything alone. The fact that the Tajara lore team has a lot of breathing room also gives me enough time to dedicate to help manage the team. Other notes: - I do not plan on resigning from my position as a Tajara lore writer if this application is accepted. - I might withdraw this application; I am still thinking if I will be able to handle this. If I do that or this is not accepted, I would be fine with any of these ideas being used by anyone.

Investigation on the Mendell Incident Continues; New Leads Discovered The team responsible for the investigation of the supposed terror attack in Mendell City has returned to share its findings with the National Congress. After tracking the latest communications and movements of people, the agents discovered that months prior to the incident barrels of nuclear waste went missing in a nuclear plant. During an inspection, the staff found out that the containers were instead filled with rocks. The finding was reported to the authorities at the time; the report could not be located. However, the Adhomai Joint Intelligence Committee was able to find another lead when they discovered that a truck had left the power plant outside of its schedule. The vehicle then moved to the Free City of Crevus. From there, agents were unable to continue the investigations due to special legislation regarding the territory. The Committee believes that a rogue organization, likely based in Tau Ceti, was using Crevus as their base of operations. The team asked for the National Assembly to allow them to operate in the city. President Almrah Harrlala summoned the Crevan representatives to discuss the matter. The city's delegates first refused to allow the Committee to act within the settlement; they claimed that such action would infringe on their freedom of self-policing. President Harrlala responded that allowing terrorists to operate in Crevus would hurt their touristic business. After a brief negotiation, Crevus allowed the AJIC to carry on with its investigation in the city in exchange for tax breaks for the next five months. Despite supporting this motion, Ex-interim President Brajrr Alnadruskiy criticized the current stance on the Free City; he suggested incorporating the territory in the DPRA to end the "Crevan selfish manipulation of their affairs". Commander Kyff Hotak offered to deploy his commandos to help track down the criminals; this offer was refused by the National Assembly The Adhomai Joint Intelligence Committee will now deploy in the Free City of Crevus to uncover the remaining leads in the investigation. President Almrah Harrlala promised Biesellite representatives that the Democratic People's Republic would uncover the truth behind this mystery.

Hello. I have some good news about the nbt. We plan to start the testing month on the 22th of January next year. That means we will allow people to play in the nbt during the weekends for around one month to test it before we launch it for good. There will be a forum topic open for feedback as well. All bugs should be reported on the git with the correct tag. We still plan to open a feedback topic for the uniforms sprites soon. Now, about the ship's name. We decided to run another vote because more than half of the votes were on other options that were not Aurora. We will run a one-week-long vote between the two more voted names: Aurora and Horizon. Here are the results: We hope to see you all at the nbt!

Emperornathan's cat requisition: Tajara Whitelist
Alberyk replied to EmperorNathan's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
It has been more than one week since I asked and no change was made to the application. Application denied. -
Okay, sorry for the delay. Exams are over. Like I said, killing the hop was fine. But you were really not helping the round by exploding things or messing with telecomms (even by accident) and I don't think that anything interesting or meaningful roleplay-wise happened due to that. While I don't recall any similar incident, I am placing a note in case this became a recurrent thing, and we will escalate from there. I will close this complaint in some days.

lore writer Haydizzle's Deputy Loremaster Application
Alberyk replied to Haydizzle's topic in Developer Applications Archives
First of all, I don't think you have enough availability to handle this position. You joined as a spriter in the dev months ago, still the only thing you did was some unathi items. You did not contribute to the nbt spriting project besides giving some opinions on colors and how to do things. People who joined way later have done way more than you as a spriter. And I can assure you, we have a lot of work to do in that field. As a lore writer, you are also very infrequent. The last unathi article, or some kind of in character development for the unathi, was posted one year ago. So we had one entire year without the unathi doing anything. This does not inspire any kind of confidence in your proposal of making stuff happens in the lore. In regards to wiki addition, I also feel it has been slow and some big issues are still left unaddressed. In question to organization, something that caught my attention was you announcing and trying to get an admin to run an event right on the day the event was happening. We all know we should put the events on the calendar, and you did it in the day you were running it. Sorry but leaving stuff to the last day is not a good thing at all. I am not saying you should speed up or do more stuff, but I don't think you have the time in your hands to tackle this position. -

The backstory need to be at least two paragraphs long. Expand it a bit more, please. -
There is no space to place it anywhere, but this might change.

Interstellar Partners Contribute to the Construction of the Palace of the Free Tajara 08.12.2463 Party Secretary Yakiv Hadii, with President Hadii's blessings, has announced today the signing of new contracts with Interstellar corporations to accelerate the construction of the Palace of the Free Tajara. The Palace will replace the Steeple, destroyed by royalist rebels during the war, as the new Seat of Government when finished. The building was designed by Party's architects to accommodate the most functions of the Party and withstand future attacks. The matter was quickly discussed and approved during a Party meeting this morning. NanoTrasen and Hephaestus Industries will provide advanced construction techniques to ensure that the Palace of the Free Tajara is finished this year. Specialized robots and machinery are being shipped to Nal'tor alongside technicians. As part of their deal, the People's Republic will supply the corporations with extra resources and work contracts. More brave Tajara can now expand their horizons by visiting the rest of the galaxy; these citizens will eventually return to Adhomai to contribute with the knowledge they acquired off-world. Party Secretary Yakiv Hadii also promised to renew the Hro'zamal soda contracts to the SCC. While the corporate partners might be involved in the construction of the Palace, most of the contributions for the project come from the Republic itself. The Hadii Institute of Orbital Research is currently working on further integrating the Aparhatchyk's system in the governmental computer network to aid in further decision making. Minister of Technology Zhuldyz Hadii suggested using Republican Defensive Robots as security for the Palace. The suggestion was turned down in favor of Minister of Defense Irbaykhan Mirarkiizar' proposal of utilizing the Republican Guard. Minister of Education Kalim Khazdar also presented a project to create a museum in the Palace of the Tajara to record the many accomplishments of the Republic. The plan was accepted by President Hadii; architects have already added an extension to the original blueprints. The Ministry of Education has been tasked with organizing and maintaining the exhibition. In a brief speech, President Hadii called the Palace of the Free Tajara a "symbol of the Hadiist victory above its countless foes". Thanks to the help of their interstellar partners, the Party expects to inaugurate its new Seat next year.

Today's nbt teaser: One of the docks: Heph operations uniform (once again, this is wip. We are still going to have a general uniform feedback topic when all uniforms are done): This is probably our last teaser for the year, but we still have more news about the nbt to give this year.
-
Trial accepted.
-
All uniform sprites are wip. We will have an uniform topic just for the feedback on the uniform sprites when they are done.
-
Stop derailing the topic. This not about the AI or cameras.
