  1. This has been a pretty great April Fools joke so far. The amount of effort and buildup is really impressive. Bravo to everyone involved.
  2. Saying there is no utility for knives beyond cutting food is a statement grounded solely in mechanics. This is a situation where roleplay justification applies- knives are tools with a number of uses. Personally, I don't care either way.
  3. Zombies are completely and utterly broken. They are nearly impossible to kill, and can infect you through armor and voidsuits. They can use tools and equip gear. They are not fun to interact with, be around, fight, be, run away from, etc. If xenomorphs were removed because they were seen as being not conducive to RP (Which I disagree with), and were broken, zombies are like that but miles upon miles worse. Hard no.
  4. Generally speaking I think the reassignment of responsibilities so that there's more on the shoulders of roboticists (Whose scope is somewhat limited) and less on scientists (whose scope is too broad) is a good thing. I still do not condone the break room getting an oven.
  5. I do not think it is wise to include medieval armor in our loadout.
  6. typically main battle tanks do not fix in three meter-wide hallways
  7. Personally as a sec main I'm largely unopposed to the changes as they were laid out here. I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other. I will say that I am very disappointed that a cadet is being removed in order to keep the manpower status quo - I think we'd be better off nixing the general officer. Alternatively, merging GO and warden - though that might run us into situations where the GO arms themselves. As it is, warden is a bit of a gimp role. Anyway, I view GO as a slot that adds nothing to the game except being a manpower buff to sec (An officer will always be better armed and regarded than a cadet, pure numbers aside.), and as a slot for the antisocial.
  8. I call this one "attack of the clones"
  9. Why do we not have likes and dislikes? I want my internet points for my witty and charming commentary.

  10. An interesting statistic, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. What percentage of those rounds take place during our dead hours?
  11. As the head of the Pro-Extended Agenda, I heavily support any initiative to increase how common it is
  12. I heavily feel like the above is a matter of taste. I think the new terminal sprites are fantastic. The teal aspect of it is cool and refreshing, and the consistent visual style between each type of terminal is good. Old terminals were dull and easily missed, these grab your attention and look good while they do it. As far as "It looks like a military ship and not a corporate vessel", I don't see the point of this argument. Why should corporate research stations look bright? Why should military vessels be dark? Furthermore, pound for pound the Aurora is more industrial than it is not. Supply, sec, engineering, etc all exist, after all. Furthermore, I don't understand the "bland" thing. They have more detail than the previous sprites by a long shot.
  13. All in all I think this is pretty much perfect as is, with the exception of white and green tiles - which look too weird. The whites need to be brighter and more white, and the greens paler and more pastel. Atm green is a somewhat desaturated olive. 300% improvement over what we had before, but we can still make things better and replace other sprites to fix the new art style.
  14. At first I was skeptical but after evaluating your post and what we know about The Old Guy from The Outer Worlds, I can't help but think you're right. The Aurorastation-Obsidian conspiracy needs to be uncovered and made aware to the public at large, to prevent Obsidian from stealing any characters from Aurorastation ever again. I suspect the headmins may be funneling character information directly to Obsidian, and they must be on their payroll. Stay woke.
  15. Virology doesn't currently bring much to the table, and either needs a complete rework or to be nuked completely. It feels like it exists to send three people to medbay for them to AFK in quarantine every once in a while.
  16. I support this as the stun baton is a blatant half life reference and I refuse to tolerate its continued existence
  17. hard concur
  18. I fail to see what people mean by potential. Could someone describe to me what wizard actually brings to the table? I have never, in my six years of playing SS13, experienced a wizard round where I walked away feeling like I didn't waste 2+ hours of my life. First off, wizard's tone is abominably unfitting. Someone will say "But we have other magical gamemodes!", and my counterpoint is that our other magical gamemodes are a lot darker in tone. Cult, vampire, whatever - they're not jovial blue men in robes. Do you compare Vampire: The Masquerade or Darkest Dungeon to Wizard 101 or Harry Potter? The best example of how out of place wizard feels is to bring up The Wizard Federation, which is an entity some wizards love to reference. I don't know why wizards have a nation-state, but apparently they do. As far as gamemode and gimmick variety is concerned - All you have are your spells. You could do some gimmick involving recruiting people to be wizards as well, but if anything this is just another example of how wizard is an LRP gamemode - Who aboard our high-tech research station, in their right mind, would sign a magical contract and start gallivanting around in bright blue robes while declaring themselves apprentices of the Great and Powerful Jhon Jhonson The Black? Furthermore, if wizards DO have some fascinating RP-stimulating potential I'm incapable of seeing, it still means nothing. You know why? Because nobody ever uses it. Having "potential" that is just wasted by every single wizard player is not enough of a reason to keep a nonsense gamemode in. As far as I'm concerned, having wasted potential is a reason to remove it in the first place - it's wasted for a reason, typically. Wizard is a gamemode that is only fun for the person playing wizard, the vast majority of the time. I understand people are afraid of losing variety, but let me give you an analogy: You're in elementary school again, and the school rotates five different meals for lunch. Four of these meals are good. The fifth is a pile of literal dogshit. Would we be depriving the school lunch menu of variety by removing the dogshit from the menu? Yes, we would.
  19. Why does the vent spinning matter?
  20. Necroing this because it recently happened to me. I was ERT lead and sent a message at the CC z-level, only to end up thinking it didn't go through at all.
  21. Gonna have to agree with Geeves here. The current holopad looks strangely out of place - it has odd shading compared to the other things we see on the floor. The vent being the wrong way is very ??? to me - Don't know why it was necessary to point that out. Scrubbers are better, again, shading fits in better. Regarding the walls - I don't at all see what you mean, they use the same perspective as our current walls. All in all, this PR brings Aurora something that it is lacking quite badly at the moment - a consistent, unique visual style.
  22. I prefer Wezzy's sprite
