  1. I came back to add a post, but Lucaken summarized my thoughts in a nutshell. I don't really have anything else to add to this post unless someone else decides to comment.
  2. These are all the logs I have, pertaining to everything on the relay and comments on the main discord out to October. https://imgur.com/a/IGPkT2K
  3. I went back to check actually and there were no mentions of dionae from Danse. Please note the timestamp in the top left: Compare this to this morning: Unless Discord is pulling a fast one on me, someone deleted the evidence. Since the audit logs on the relay have shown nobody deleting these messages, Danse has either deleted them or removed the mentions of dionae and interfered with the complaint. I have however full screencaps of the times and locations of his messages from the general and relay discords if you wish for me to provide them in full, but unfortunately they lack context.
  4. BYOND Key: Haydizzle/Petrichor#0098 Game ID: N/A Player Byond Key/Character name: DanseMacabre/DanseMacabre#9108 Staff involved: N/A Reason for complaint: Toxic behavior Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? N/A Approximate Date/Time: Over the last year. Danse (among other people) has had a toxic and badgering mindset regarding dionae lore and even its former and current writers. There is a line between jokes and harassment and I feel Danse has stepped over that line. I'm not posting many logs due to the fact that any search of him saying "diona" in the main and relay discords shows his belligerent behavior. Even today, he posted a wood chipper gif in reply to a dionae meme. However, in case it is written off as "just a joke":
  5. This looks good! Application accepted. Do not hesitate to reach out my deputies and I with any questions you may have.
  6. Good answers. Application accepted! Do not hesitate to reach out to my deputies and I and with any questions you have.
  7. Thanks for reapplying! It is good to see that the ending of the last application didn't discourage you. I'm particularly curious in your answer to Caelphon's second question and one other answer to question of your choice; after that, I'll pass a verdict.
  8. Sorry for the delay. I'm interested in Venty's question, as well as the following: How does he struggle with unathite culture? Where does he find friction with more tradition-oriented sinta in the Hegemony back home and abroad?
  9. Application accepted! Feel free to send my deputies and I any questions you may have.
  10. It is not really worth the hassle of retconning fully being that many characters have implemented cloning into their backstories or have been utilized via in round events. I am strongly against a total retcon and believe there are better ways of fixing how cloning works in the lore.
  11. Seeing how a plethora of other questions have been asked, I do not have any of my own original ones going forward. I do however want to endorse this application. RyverStyx and McRib are both wonderful applicants, but I have had first hand experience with McRib that pushes them forward for me personally. They are an exceptionally creative and intelligent person— I cannot say I've seen them ever write out a sample, for something like the wiki, but a lot of interaction with their characters shows how much goes on behind the scenes. They also have one of my favorite stories on the server as they really did have a redemption arc of sorts over their time here. They would do well in the position and taking up the reigns where Caelphon left off, and interestingly enough having a juxtaposing flaw with Cael might work out well, balancing each other out. I'm sort of running out of things to add to the pot: McRib's good people. One question is coming to mind in the end, though. News articles tend to be a weak point for most lore teams at the moment. Is that something you feel confident in doing as a part of being a lore writer? Do you dread it? There is not really a wrong answer here.

  13. This is something I have personally vouched for among lore, but I am also curious to see if there are any other recommendations to be had to give cargo a second department and what the reasoning might be.
  14. Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation for a bit. Your application is accepted! Thank you for applying and sorry again for the wait. Feel free to ask my deputies and I any questions you have.
  15. Sorry for the delay! Feel free to ping a lore dev if you make an app and don't receive a reply within three days. Some questions: 1) What things does Kraski struggle with as a part of their new faith? What aspects of unathi culture do they stubbornly cling to? 2) How do you think Kraski views the Hegemony? How does he feel about working for a megacorp? 3) How did Kraski's choice to become an Aut'akh affect his family? Did buying a pAI bring people to view his father with suspicion?
  16. Your writing is good and you have proved that you are a capable RPer, not just with the comments from other people, but from my own interactions with your characters. I want to highlight a couple of things. Your application does good in that it is a backstory: I have a sense of what the character has done, and how it fits into the lore. There is thought put into it as shown with your coordination with other people for making it, and to this end, I think creating a story with multiple people is the end goal of roleplaying: I enjoy seeing when people do this. However, despite your application and answers to questions, I feel as though the themes are not clicking from you— of course, this works on the surface level as you might know the themes yet not be displaying them that well. I strongly recommend you reapply, and take the following questions into consideration: how does your character gel with unathi's themes, and how can you write about that? How does your character go against the grain and make themselves an outlier compared to unathite society? What elements of the lore are you looking to emphasize in your application? This application is denied. You can reapply in a little less than a week from now given my delayed reply times, as I meant to post this a couple days ago. Thank you again for your time, and I look forward to seeing you post here again. Feel free to reach out to my deputies and I with any and all questions— we would be happy to hear them!
  17. There is nothing wrong with making a character utilizing lore someone else came up with; collaboration, sharing notes, and utilizing someone else's "auto canon" is a wonderful thing to see. Nonetheless, I do need to ask some additional questions to gauge your understanding of the lore and its themes. Feel free to send the answers of these here or to me in private: 1) What does Skaszk think of the Aut'akh and their place in Unathite society? 2) How does Skaszk feel about unathi society? Does he stand to benefit from it, or is he destined to become an outsider? 3) Let's talk OOC for a moment: Skaszk seems to put his brother on a pedestal. Is that destined to bite him in the tail? Does he think a little too highly of his brother, and if so, do you think this will lead to conflict in some form, whether with himself, his brother, or another party? Thanks again for your time put into the application.
  18. Sorry for the delayed reply. You clearly show you have read the pages. The writing itself is good, but suffers from the answers being generalist. For example, something like this could be said of any species in regards to humans. I will have to decline this application. You have read the page, but the missing link is showing your knowledge of the themes: what themes are apparent in this species and not necessarily in others? What are some major aspects of the species that are unique compared to the rest? What elements drew you to this species over the rest? Answers to these questions are what we look for in an application. I strongly encourage you to reapply; my deputies and I are available if you have any further questions.
  19. Hello! Thank you for applying. Could you expand on this some more? Avoid citing mechanics and instead offer how they differ in roleplay and mindset. Overall, your backstory isn't lore breaking, but it does feel more like simple narration. An application helps to show the lore developers that the themes are understood and you have a grasp on the ideas of the species, in addition to being able to roleplay well to represent the species. I don't really enjoy denying an application out the gate though unless warranted, so I still have a couple of questions to offer some insight on the "understanding themes" portion. 1) How does Kruzia struggle with their new surroundings on the Aurora? 2) What is one of his personality traits that Unathite society favors? What is one that they dislike? 3) How does Kruzia view the Hegemon? If this is a positive viewpoint, what is something he disagrees with the Hegemon and why? If it is a negative viewpoint, what is something he agrees with the Hegemon and why?
  20. Keep in mind that women are not inherently viewed as untrustworthy by unathi as a whole, though it could be a personal interpretation for a few. It's also good to keep in mind that Tau Ceti is not exactly asylum for unathi. With that in mind, your application is accepted. Please shoot my deputies and I any questions you may have on Discord.
  21. Hello! Thank you for applying. How does Xiomara react to those of the Sk'akh faith? How does she handle religious discourse? Given her father is Sk'akh, I'm very interested here. Also, Could you elaborate on the oppression you are referring to here? Thank you for your time.
  22. Remember that Aut'akh are more than just fanatics with prosthetics: their entire belief system revolves around dismantling the traditions unathi have in place. Despite this, I like your responses, your application is solid, and a plethora of people advocate for your roleplaying. Your application is accepted. I look forward to seeing Zukarr around the station!
  23. The application is interesting! And thank you for putting in the time to apply. 1) What does Zukarr think about Aut'akh or perhaps modernization as a whole? 2) Where does Zukarr struggle with his faith? If he is extremely devout to no end, where does his faith cause any problems? I look forward to your response!
  24. This looks good! Obligatory post from someone who has helped with the layout a bit, but I think Joshie has done an impressive job with it, better than I could hope to do. I do have one question though: do you have any planned additions to command with this update? Now would be the time to if ever add anything to the department given all the space you have to work with.
