Celebrations in Arequipa For the last week, hundreds of those residing within the planetary capital of Mictlan, Arequipa, have taken to the streets and celebrated the ending of the Peacekeeper Mandate in the wake of the Council of Six’s meeting, and the subsequent end of the megacorporate sanctions that were levied on Mictlani – drastically causing a rise in the price of living, and an overall decline in the quality of life. Slowly, Mictlan has seen itself live up to the name of the capital of the Corporate Reconstruction Zone, where new enterprises have been established as projected stability continues to rise across the planet. Prime Minister Ladislao de Santos has confirmed additional economic ventures are still yet to be announced, regardless Mictlani celebrate their newfound liberation from the instability that had shackled them during the height of the Peacekeeper Mandate.

Fort Yaotl Purchased By Zavodskoi Interstellar Zavodskoi Interstellar Industries has purchased Fort Yaotl from the Republic of Biesel, more so from the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion, in an attempt to further integrate themselves within Mictlan’s economy. Having been auctioned off following the end of the Peacekeeper Mandate thanks to discussions between the Council of the Six, Fort Yaotl served as an instrumental processing facility for those displaced from their homes during the height of the Biesellite attempt at stabilizing the planet and now shall serve as the headquarters for the megacorporation it nows finds itself host of. Zavodskoi has announced its intention to develop both industrial and research facilities – away from the populated regions of the planet – with its subsidiary Confiance Technologies’ introduction of its military wing into the Republic of Biesel, and subsequently the first outside of the Solarian Alliance. However, Zavodskoi Interstellar has assured both parties that there will exist separate databases and servers to ensure “the sensitive data held cannot get into the wrong hands”. Fort Yaotl has since begun its renovation into the newfound regional headquarters of the megacorporation – including undergoing a name change, “Makarov Industrial Research Centre”. The Private Military Contracting Group has also been called in to establish perimeters surrounding the area once renovations are complete to protect the megacorporation’s sensitive data, and whatever else it intends to use the facilities for.

Hephaestus Industries Expands Foothold Following discussions between Prime Minister Ladislao de Santos and representatives from Hephaestus Industries, it was announced that the megacorporation found find itself integral to the rebuilding of the more damaged parts of Mictlan, namely the region surrounding Lago de Abundancia. In addition, it shall supplement the existing orbital enterprises in regard to both resource harvesting and refinement – securing Hephaestus Industries as a key player in the economy of the planet. The megacorporation has been contracted to begin reconstruction of more dire sections of Lago de Abundancia following the insurrection crisis that was mounted by the Samaritans and the Founding Movement just months ago. The Tau Ceti Foreign Legion’s engineering division found themselves having been the primary effort to reconstruction, now find themselves supplemental to the waves of Hephaestus Industries’ contractors. Mictlan Orbital Excavation Ventures – a newfound subsidiary of the megacorporation – shall find itself solely dedicated to the harvesting of extraplanetary resources that previously went untouched as a result of the planet’s instability. The staged removal of the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion as a result of Mictlan’s recovery has allowed for projections for the prospects of the planet to skyrocket – which can be assumed the primary reason for Hephaestus’ expansion into its orbital industries.

Council of Six Representatives Meet Following discussions between President Joseph Dorn and Presiding Speaker Åke Torvald, it was determined that a forum be held regarding further intervention within the Corporate Reconstruction Zone and the way forward, as many regions within the Republic of Biesel’s newfound states, begin to stabilize. Referred to as the “C6R” or the Council of Six Representatives, the forum will continuously expand as planetary states are introduced – but for now, consists of the six most integrated. The representatives comprise the following: President Joseph Dorn of the Republic of Biesel, Director-Governor Charles Arcos of the Commonwealth of Valkyrie, Presiding Speaker Åke Torvald of the Parliamentary Republic of New Gibson, High Queen Vaur of the Zo’ra Hive of Caprice, Prime Minister Ladislao de Santos of the Republic of Mictlan, and Premier Julien Guerrier of the Union of Port Antillia. Acting Director of Operations for the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, Miranda Trasen, was also invited as an honorary member of the Council of Six Representatives. Lasting approximately an hour, the discussion entailed the future of the Corporate Reconstruction Zone and the Peacekeeper Mandate, where issues faced were brought to light by several parties – most of which were by Prime Minister Ladislao de Santos. Acting Director of Operations Miranda Trasen outlined the economic restoration of Mictlan – including immediate withdrawal of the megacorporation sanctions placed on the planet. Additionally, the introduction of civic welfare services will be offered in exchange for employment with the constituent megacorporations of the Conglomerate as a means to ensure compliance with their intended initiatives to develop the planet economically. President Dorn confirmed that the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion would begin removing themselves from Mictlan, following the successful implementation of the economic initiatives by the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, and meaningful stabilisation of the planet. Prime Minister Ladislao de Santos criticized the former opinion, raising that staged removal should commence immediately, as the Mictlan Defense Force could be used to intervene if necessary. A concession was agreed upon, where the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion would begin removing themselves from the western forward operation bases, but the region surrounding Lago de Abundancia would remain occupied by its forces. The final proposed plans found themselves unanimously agreed upon by the Council of Six Representatives, and will soon begin implementation. Despite the decline of President Dorn’s approval rating in the wake of the phoron scarcity, it has since shot up yet again, seemingly restoring the legitimacy of his office as he maintains the title of President of the Orion Spur’s economic hegemony.

Presiding Speaker Addresses Situation Presiding Speaker Åke Torvald addressed the New Gibson Parliament, following his meeting with President Dorn, and the greater population of New Gibsonites. As the support for an anti-war movement continues to rise, many have called into question the legitimacy of New Gibson within the Republic of Biesel. The economic situation within the Orion Spur is already tenuous at best, with the industrial heart of the Spur’s economic hegemon refusing to produce goods, a frightening realisation begins to set in. Protests across New Gibson have declined in numbers but still continue. The situation is believed to be under control, and the New Gibson Security Forces maintain their prior position on the matter – some facilities have become operational once again, putting Tau Ceti’s economic strain at ease following the former’s prior shutdown.
-
Strikes across New Gibson Dozens of industrial facilities find themselves shut down as hundreds step out to show support for the anti-war demonstrations held by New Gibson University across their various campuses. Corporate facilities across the planet find themselves either without employees or shut down as a result of protestors chanting outside their doors – most notably of which is NanoTrasen’s establishments, with many associations the megacorporation with the situation in which the Corporate Reconstruction Zone finds itself within. President Joseph Dorn of the Republic of Biesel is scheduled to meet with Presiding Speaker Åke Torvald as the number of those who support the step-out continues to swell. There have been no further comments from other megacorporations present across the arctic planetoid, however, sources from within the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate confirm that there will be harsh sanctions against those that are proven to have “seditious, anti-corporate sentiments of a threatening calibre” – however, little else is known. The New Gibson Parliament has had an emergency sitting in order to discuss possible remedies for the developing situation, which the Presiding Speaker will bring up when meeting with President Dorn. The New Gibson Security Forces have proclaimed that should it get out of hand it will be dealt with, but as it currently stands, the people are merely voicing their discontent with the ruling party, a declaration that has been authorised by the Presiding Speaker.

New Gibson University Students Protest New Gibson University will become the centre of attention this next week as a result of several civil demonstrations planned by students who oppose the Peacekeeper Mandate that continues to wage on in the Corporate Reconstruction Zone. Hundreds are predicted to come together, predominately in the Sjosidane Square of the Hengsha Campus, to voice their discontent against the Dorn Administration's policy of occupation. Campus Security has been ordered to disperse themselves both around and within the demonstration to ensure that it remains peaceful - however, organisers of the protest allegedly claim that they do not wish to fight for their cause violently. Regardless of the intentions, many are reminded of the protesting that went sour outside the Municipal Library of Sikunda where Marcela Avendano, unfortunately, lost her life at the hands of an inexperienced Legionnaire. Rumours persist of the inklings of centralisation regarding a primary student organisation against the Peacekeeper Mandate, with supposed links between the Arequipan Institute of Ecology and Natural Sciences and New Gibson University. It is unknown whether these rumours have any concrete foundations, but perhaps additional information will unravel as the demonstrations across the campuses of New Gibson University take place.

Article #6 of the Union of Port Antillia Arc End of the Arc Elections Concluded, Premier Announced The final voting polls have been counted, and it has been confirmed that Chancellor Julien Guerrier was victorious in his campaign to become Premier of the Union of Port Antillia, ending a tumultuous chapter in the planet’s history. Celebrations have broken out across the Premier’s province of Arthezé – where reports of joyous festivities are taking place across the streets. Despite their losses, the other candidates all issued statements in support of Julien Guerrier having become the Premier. Even outgoing Premier, Toño de Avila, congratulated the Chancellor and wished him luck in his political career as the leader of the Union. Though some have critiqued his statement, considering the history of the Mister de Avila, many more have already begun to look forward and forget the past as the planet marches on. Date: 09/02/2464

Article #5 of the Union of Port Antillia Arc Chancellor Julien Guerrier institutes Decree Chancellor Julien Guerrier of Arthezé has announced his intention to declare a decree that aims at protecting the independence of Antillean industries in the wake of other candidates voicing their support for greater integration both within the Republic of Biesel and the introduction of the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate. Having been a strong advocate for increased separation of powers during the formation of the Union of Port Antillia, Guerrier has shown throughout his tenure as Chancellor of Arthezé that he will ensure the protection of his constituents and uphold their liberties. The announcement has been recorded and uploaded below. The Decree of Industrial Co-operation by Chancellor Guerrier outlines that megacorporate introduction to the province of Arthezé will not demolish existing infrastructure and Guayamoucan corporations that have budded – and must be done as a supplemental role to these already existing enterprises. Article #4 of the Union of Port Antillia Arc Lorna Rieviere Lashes Out Chairperson Lorna Rieviere of the Coalition for Antillean Social Democracy has lashed out at a reporter probing her in regards to her plans for the future of the Union of Port Antillia. Having expanded her campaigning to Carrington in order to bolster her numbers, many still believe despite the latest outburst that she has a chance of becoming Premier – and leading Antilleans into their newfound circumstances. Her assembly was held in Solarian Common but was translated for ease of understanding. Rieviere’s campaign assembly have given many an inkling of what her possible tenure as the Premier may look like should she be successful in her vying for the seat of the Premier, where those from the Caymanas continue to support her as she promises policies aimed to protect the people, and support those that are especially affected by the economic situation that the planet finds itself within. Hi there. Thanks for applying. 1. Do you mind writing out an extract (not exceeding one page) for a piece of Dionae Lore you’d like to see added? 2. Do you have any retcons that you’d like to see implemented should you get the position? 3. What do you have planned for CT-EUM? -
Article #3 of the Union of Port Antillia Arc Minister of Defence outlines plan for Cosmonautic Service Minister of Defence Isandro Burgos has outlined his intention to create the Antillean Cosmonautic Service to ensure the protection of Port Antillia against foreign threats – most notably the Southern Solarian Military District that has begun ramping up its arms production following the elimination of the Southern Fleet Administration and their proliferation throughout the Southern Wildlands. In an assembly which he called, he announced the following: Minister Burgos had many in attendance and many more listening in across Port Antillia. Despite his association with Premier Toño de Avila, support for him has grown exponentially. The Republic of Biesel, and the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, have been reluctant to issue comments on the radical views of the candidate, but rumours continue to circle that they fund his more corporate-minded competitors in the race for the seat of Premier. Article #2 of the Union of Port Antillia Arc Iara Galindez declares support for Synthetic Rights Secretary-General Iara Galindez of the Antillean Libertarian Party (‘ALP’) came under fire following her most recent interview with reporters from the Orion Oracle, where she found herself beholden to answering questions to satiate the curiosity of many across Port Antillia, where some have not agreed with her views in the wake of the planet’s recent integration into the Republic of Biesel. The exchange below has been translated from Tradeband to Tau Ceti Basic, for easier understanding for our readers. Despite many denouncing Secretary-General Iara Galindez’s views on both megacorporations and synthetic rights, she has seen a notable increase in support across social media – most coming from synthetics that have seen a glimpse of her interview. Only time will tell whether her standings will either increase or decrease her likelihood of securing the office of the Premier. Date: 08/22/2464

Beginning of the Union of Port Antillia Arc Article #1 Union of Port Antillia announces Premier Candidates The transitional government of Port Antillia has announced its intention to hold early elections following the resignation of Premier Toño de Avila, after months of calls to step down following allegations of incompetence by several prominent politicians across the planet’s provincial states. Several parties have declared their candidate’s intention to run for the office of Premier, with rigorous campaigning having commenced shortly after the Union of Port Antillia’s announcement. The Antillean Libertarian Party (‘ALP’) has announced that their candidate, Iara Galindez, will be running for the office of Premier on a campaign promoting stronger ties to the Republic of Biesel, and the introduction of megacorporations to the Union of Port Antillia - ensuring that rapid, sweeping steps can be taken in order to secure the economic prosperity of the planet and the next generation of Antilleans. Social Democratic Front of Port Antillia (‘SDF-PA’) has confirmed that their candidate, Chancellor Julien Guerrier of the Arthezé province, will be running for Premier. The SDF-PA has proposed securing the future of Port Antillia through regulated economic cooperation within the greater Republic of Biesel and ensuring that such cooperation empowers the Union first and foremost. The SDF-PA also plans to commence social welfare efforts to help downtrodden Antilleans, using corporate taxes to pay for the programmes. Coalition for Antillean Social Democracy (‘CASD’) declared that their candidate, Lorna Rieviere, will also be running for Premier. The CASD stated that their campaign will focus on policies that are for uplifting the working class present across provincial states, through Antillean-first policies that aim to regulate the economy and ensure that the common labourer will not have their influence or employment threatened by non-Antilleans in the wake of the planet’s integration within the Republic of Biesel. Antillean People’s Party (‘APP’) has reported that their candidate, Minister of Defence Isandro Burgos, will be running for Premier as well. With a focus on ensuring that Port Antillia can stand strong without the assistance of megacorporations, as well as the Republic of Biesel, and promotes the return to the Solarian Alliance. Campaigning for complete immigration reform, restrictions on synthetic life, as well as funding the creation of the Antillean Cosmonautic Service to assert themselves as a regional power in the wake of the Southern Solarian Military District's massing of arms, the APP has declared itself to be the only pro-Antillean party. Article #3 of Dreary Futures Arc Southern Fleet Administration Remnants Encountered The SCCV Horizon discovered remnants of Beauchamp’s Southern Fleet Administration harbouring a considerable repository of phoron in close proximity to what the Conglomerate believes is the origin of the supposed phoronic elements found within the region. The FSF Caravaggio was unable to engage these raiders which forced the Horizon, in the subsequent abandonment of the raider’s hideout, to reclaim the rightful property of NanoTrasen. Captain Gerhardus Kruger, alongside Lieutenant Riette Becker, were both assassinated after the SFA swept through Odyssey Station. The crew of the Horizon engaged the remnants of the faltering warlord state, ridding the Republic of Biesel of these brigands harbouring the lifeline of the Orion Spur. Further investigation from the Horizon revealed an intricate plan regarding the group’s intention to provide the hold of phoron to the Serene Republic of Elyra, allegedly hired to do so. The Serene Republic has denied these claims, stating that their state-owned enterprises would have been in charge of the extraction and refinement of the phoron, not Solarian outlaws. The assassination of the FSF Caravaggio’s Commanding Officers has put into question whether they will remain as an escort to the Horizon. Supposedly, it finds itself headed by Lieutenant Commander Pieter du Plessis, the FSF Caravaggio’s Operations Officer. Whatever happens, the Conglomerate will continue hunting for the origin of the phoronic elements detected and is closer than ever before according to representatives. Many continue to hope that it will be enough to satiate the ever-growing consumption of the Orion Spur. Date: 08/18/2464

I have to agree to Gromnax's opinion. Holding Until Transfer is boring as shit. Its not enjoyable at all for the antagonist. I'd much prefer to be cyborigified (where I can ghost following the brain procedure) or straight up marooned so I can at least still do something. It is noble idea to try and get more roleplay for the antagonist, but it rarely ever plays out how you laid it out.

We've seen several "near extinction" events across the Orion Spur. Do you believe that there are other aliens that existed prior to the setting we currently exist within? Can you show us examples? What about aliens that we might still stumble upon? Do you think they'll be peaceful or warlike?

Staff Complaint - Lancer and Caelphon
Caelphon replied to Zulu0009's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Hi there. There are several things regarding this complaint that need to be set out. The decision to uphold the removal was between @Lucaken and myself. I am unsure why Lancer has been mentioned an additional time. The Synthetic Lore Team was made aware of my request that any interactions be done on the forum for transparency. You are trying to create a problem where there is none. You were also told this in the previous complaint. The Synthetic Lore Team was compliant with procedure to remove the whitelist. They expanded that they believe the repeated sexual behaviour constituted a removal without the need for prior warning (outlined in your previous complaint). Lore Team Administration (Lucaken and Myself) agreed that the prior warnings, however, were vague enough to not be construed as actual warnings -- which caused confusion to the complainant (you) and that steps had to be taken in order to rectify this situation. It does not matter the intentions behind something. Someone can attempt to do something with good intentions that still inadvertedly causes harm to another. Must we ignore it simply because the person had good intentions? No. You need to understand that your intentions are not in question here, but the fact that the behaviour that you engaged in was seen as sexual in nature. Paraphrasing here but: "The skirt rides up Mobius' leg, but they stop it because they remember they're a synthetic" ... so if they were not a synthetic, what would have happened? Would they have exposed their under garments or more? How can this not be seen as sexual in nature? Regardless if it was misunderstood, the action itself is contrary to the expectations of roleplay in regards to those with a synthetic whitelist. It does not matter whether you intended the action to be construed as humor, it was viewed by several others across the entirety of the Lore Team (and greater) as being conduct that is sexual in nature where it could not be ignored when referencing to the previous incident where your character engaged in a strip tease. Your intentions do not matter when evaluating the behaviour exhibited. -
After having spoken to the Deputy Loremaster, we believe that the removal of the whitelist was justifiable. However, we also noted the following: If you do not agree with the ruling, I encourage you to appeal it with a staff complaint. Such will be handled by the Head Administration Team.
