I have to agree to Gromnax's opinion. Holding Until Transfer is boring as shit. Its not enjoyable at all for the antagonist. I'd much prefer to be cyborigified (where I can ghost following the brain procedure) or straight up marooned so I can at least still do something. It is noble idea to try and get more roleplay for the antagonist, but it rarely ever plays out how you laid it out.

We've seen several "near extinction" events across the Orion Spur. Do you believe that there are other aliens that existed prior to the setting we currently exist within? Can you show us examples? What about aliens that we might still stumble upon? Do you think they'll be peaceful or warlike?

Staff Complaint - Lancer and Caelphon
Caelphon replied to Zulu0009's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Hi there. There are several things regarding this complaint that need to be set out. The decision to uphold the removal was between @Lucaken and myself. I am unsure why Lancer has been mentioned an additional time. The Synthetic Lore Team was made aware of my request that any interactions be done on the forum for transparency. You are trying to create a problem where there is none. You were also told this in the previous complaint. The Synthetic Lore Team was compliant with procedure to remove the whitelist. They expanded that they believe the repeated sexual behaviour constituted a removal without the need for prior warning (outlined in your previous complaint). Lore Team Administration (Lucaken and Myself) agreed that the prior warnings, however, were vague enough to not be construed as actual warnings -- which caused confusion to the complainant (you) and that steps had to be taken in order to rectify this situation. It does not matter the intentions behind something. Someone can attempt to do something with good intentions that still inadvertedly causes harm to another. Must we ignore it simply because the person had good intentions? No. You need to understand that your intentions are not in question here, but the fact that the behaviour that you engaged in was seen as sexual in nature. Paraphrasing here but: "The skirt rides up Mobius' leg, but they stop it because they remember they're a synthetic" ... so if they were not a synthetic, what would have happened? Would they have exposed their under garments or more? How can this not be seen as sexual in nature? Regardless if it was misunderstood, the action itself is contrary to the expectations of roleplay in regards to those with a synthetic whitelist. It does not matter whether you intended the action to be construed as humor, it was viewed by several others across the entirety of the Lore Team (and greater) as being conduct that is sexual in nature where it could not be ignored when referencing to the previous incident where your character engaged in a strip tease. Your intentions do not matter when evaluating the behaviour exhibited. -
After having spoken to the Deputy Loremaster, we believe that the removal of the whitelist was justifiable. However, we also noted the following: If you do not agree with the ruling, I encourage you to appeal it with a staff complaint. Such will be handled by the Head Administration Team.

Regardless of the intentions behind such, it has been seen as being sexual in nature by the Synthetic Lore Team. Lancer expressed earlier that they do not believe that such behaviour is congruent with their expectations. Combined with the previous incident regarding your character's previous strip tease incident, it paints a picture of a character that has been sexually objectified, even if it was done so with different intentions. I will be conferring with Lucaken, and we will render our decision either today or tomorrow.

Kyres1 was a Synthetic Lore Deputy at the time they approached you, which was sanctioned by Lancer. This is considered the first warning given by the SLT regarding your conduct. It is my understanding that it is a sign of repeated behaviour, where the SLT had warned you twice prior regarding your behaviour. Essentially, three strikes and you're out, kind of system. Your warnings are detailed as follows: 1. Kyres1 spoke to you regarding your behaviour in reference to the strip tease. 2. Lancer spoke to you regarding your roleplay as a synthetic that was far too human. This means that the dress incident was the third strike. I am sure you are sick of hearing this, but if you believe I have infringed on the code of conduct, you are free to lodge a staff complaint. It is a right given to players in order for their concerns to be handled, I do not mean this disingeniously. A grace period for players to become acquainted with their penalities is something that is non-existant across the board, not necessarily just for species whitelist removals. The Command Whitelist Team is under no obligation to give a player time to come up with justification for why their character no longer is part of Command Staff. That is unfortunately a result of the removal, that your character is essentially in a status of limbo. You are, however, free to post a policy change thread. I cannot promise you that it will be accepted. This is a formal proceeding, and exchanges between us are recommended to occur in this forum to ensure transparency between all parties. @The lancer If you could please outline your team's reasonings for the removal within this complaint, and the justification for such, from your own perspective.

Hi there. The Lore Team Administration (Myself & @Lucaken) will be handling this complaint. 1. There is an incident that allegedly took place on the NSS Aurora, where one of your characters engaged in a "strip tease" whilst performing in a talent show. If true, why do you believe it does not belong under this heading? In addition, , there seems to be a pattern of questionable roleplay that does not adhere to the expectations of the Synthetic Lore Team emerging, if this situation did in fact occur. 2. When evaluating the behaviour of an individual and how they roleplay, the negative actions often outweigh any positive action, due to the impact that such actions can have. Persons have come forward and felt uncomfortable with the nature of roleplay that you've engaged in. When such behaviour begins to infringe on the enjoyment of others, it needs to be corrected and/or handled. 3. The Lore Team Rules and Regulations outline that sufficient warning is not required prior to removal of a whitelist should the Synthetic Lore Team ('SLT') believe that the behaviour is egregious enough to warrant such strip. In the evidence you've presented, Lancer gave you a warning that your roleplay did not comply with their expectations of a whitelisted individual, and needed to be corrected. You then further engaged in behaviour that the SLT felt did not comply with their expectations. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Lore_Team_Rules_and_Regulations 4. The SLT does not have an obligation to justify why a character is absent. A grace period in order for a player to come to terms with the penalities against them is frankly something that will never be explored or be welcomed within the code of conduct, whilst I am the Loremaster. 5. The SLT will have to adhere to the above, and institute a time frame for when you can reapply for the whitelist, should it be found that the removal of your whitelist was justifiable. 6. This statement confuses me. Do you believe that the SLT should just forgo ensuring the quality of whitelistees simply because "it is more trouble than it is worth"?

I, for one, would like to see some representation of the cultures present within West Sub-Saharan Africa. I believe this can be done tactfully and without impeding on the existing cultural elements present within the Eridani Corporate Federation.

I spoke to @Roostercat to determine whether I was allowed to post here. They determinned that I was. There have been several times where Marlon has performed what Alberyk outlined in his reasoning for this complaint. Several times I have engaged in discussions with this person where it feels as if they create strawman arguments that aim to cause frustration among those involved in said discussions. They regularly do so, where I called them out on it in the second spoiler (discord link) and they acted as if these far-reaching goals of destroying his lore and somehow tackling and destroying any kind of headcanon that exists. There have been times where I felt it necessary to issue a strike on the lore discord, but I do not believe that I have permissions there (due to a mixup) despite lore writers being the primary moderators. I believe that the strike applied by Alberyk was completely justified, and I wish I was able to do so in order to deter this repeated behaviour by Marlon. I believe many would agree, considering they have been burnt by similar situations outlined in Alberyk's reasoning for his complaint. EDIT: I wish to add that Marlon frequently goes back and edits his statements in discord that make them seem like the innocent party.

DanseMacabre's Human Lore Deputy Application
Caelphon replied to Kintsugi's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Danse has volunteered countless times for events, and has helped in many projects that the lore team has undertaken. I do think their contributions should be noted (as a positive) against them. I do however have concerns regarding interspecies coordination. Do you mind expanding on your views here in regards to that? I do not think it is a secret that you’ve had issues with non-human lore before. -
Article #2 of Dreary Futures Arc NanoTrasen finds Phoron Thanks to the advanced technology present aboard the Venator-Class SCCV Horizon, NanoTrasen has announced that phoronic elements have been discovered within the Valley Hale region of the Republic of Biesel, less than a light-year from the shared border with the Serene Republic of Elyra. Additional efforts are required to determine its exact location, but it is certain that soon there may perhaps be a remedy to the ongoing phoron scarcity. The Serene Republic has levied allegations of encroachment following the discovery, however, there are no formal discussions between the respective representatives of either Republic. Prior to the Horizon’s departure, the Conglomerate agreed that protection was required for their flagship, securing its safety with the hiring of the FSF Caravaggio. Commanded by Captain Gerhardus Kruger, the FSF Caravaggio is a vigorous Taipei-class that has been central to the ongoing stability of the Free Solarian Fleet-patrolled Wildlands, now vital to the ongoing effort to combat the phoron scarcity. While it may have been believed to bring relief to the Orion Spur, preliminary scans of the detected elements show it will likely not alleviate the scarcity, but instead slow it down - essentially maintaining the status quo for a while until the veins of phoron are exhausted. However, until the actual discovery of the precious mineral the only advantage to the detection is the slight recovery of the interstellar economy. In other news, the Biesellite Credit has strengthened in light of this discovery. However, it is expected to be overtaken in the coming months by the Solarian Credit as the Spur begins to rely predominantly on Helium-3 to fuel their economy unless the phoron scarcity finds itself resolved according to economic analysts within the Republic of Biesel. The Federation Squipp saw some weakening but has remained stable during the ensuing energy crisis. Date: 08/07/2464

Einstein Engines Phoenixport Expansion Following the release of the Suzuki-Zhang Hammerdrive to the civilian market, Einstein Engines has declared that it will begin acquiring additional facilities within Phoenixport in order to “revitalize” the city - and become a “major economic hub within the Republic of Biesel overseen by an employee-centric corporate ethos that promotes productivity, whilst still complying with existing constraints” - according to Chief Executive Officer Noella Lopez-Zhang. The most recent acquisition is the dilapidated University of Phoenixport, procured by Einstein Engines earlier this week, and confirmed to be the start of Phoenixport’s resurgence after the megacorporation declared that the University will see itself uplifted and will soon become a centre of important discoveries within the Orion Spur. It was then revealed it will undergo a name change, the Lopez-Zhang Academy of Science and Technology and will have a focus on advancing the understanding of warp theory. Additionally, Einstein Engines funded the expansion of Phoenixport Regional Hospital Centre with the medical facility unveiling the opening of an entirely new wing dedicated to long-term patient care and rehabilitation, and will be utilized as soon as renovations are completed, and when it passes interstellar structural integrity tests.

Zeng-Hu Commences Charters Following an announcement by the government of Assunzione regarding the decreased expedition launches into the Light’s Edge region of the Orion Spur, Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals has jumped at the opportunity to expand its foothold within the interstellar economy through developing an additional branch based on exploratory sciences - different to their original intent of pursuing medical-based sciences. Chief Research Officer, Yuko Murakami Haya, has long claimed that the next important discovery regarding medicine is most likely to be discovered within this anomalous region, and is believed to be the main proponent of the creation of the medical conglomerate’s mission of chartering Light’s Edge. The Triesto Branch on Assunzione will be expanded to incorporate the oversight offices of the Light’s Edge Expeditionary Charter Group. Vice President, Rochelle Mohi, and Chief Medical Officer, Fukumi Cho, have worked in conjunction with CRO Haya in attempting to devise an alternative mindshield implant that can assist in countering the effect that the anomalous region has on the Zona Bonvinae - the current working theory regarding the heightened development of psychosis while traversing it. This alternative mindshield implant has seen some success in testing groups on Europa, and will soon see itself utilized in the Light’s Edge Expeditionary Charter Group.

Connor's bug deputy application
Caelphon replied to Connorjg1's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Hi there, just a couple of questions. Goodluck. There are no wrong answers. -
With Ryver’s resignation, the Skrell Lore Writer position is now free. Alongside the standard developer format, please include one of the following: 1. Your plans for the future of Skrell, and their involvement in the affairs of the Orion Spur. 2. What do you most enjoy about Skrell, additionally how you plan to expand on this. What you enjoy least about Skrell, additionally how you plan to deal with this aspect. 3. Skrell have “symbiotic” relationships with both the C’thur and Dionae. How do you plan to continue this relationship an further develop it - in whichever direction you see fit. Goodluck there are no wrong answers.
