  1. Hi there. You are well within your rights to lodge a Staff Complaint regarding the conduct of the lore team, and I wanted to put that here so other players can see, and understand, that this is one of many tools to voice their concerns. I confirm that the arc has been greenlit since early December, but production only began in it in late January / Early February, for complete transparency. I am the primary writer of the arc, however, there were significant contributions made by @Triogenix . I do not believe they are required to voice anything, but I do believe they should be given the option should they wish to do so. The current geopolitical climate within the world isn’t new. The Ukraine-Russia situation can be seen in several other different places; America-Afghanistan, Palestine-Israel and even China-Taiwan to a degree. Unfortunately, mankind has continually done the same actions to one another for centuries (see: Ireland-English and Scotland-English relations). I apologised because conflict can be triggering for some individuals, and especially considering there is a significant amount with regions where a lot of our players originate from that is being impacted by conflict, I wanted people to know that this could cause discomfort. Conflict will always parallel conflict. Me writing about the Samaritans being shelled by the Legion is going to look like a parallel, because conflict has been a fascination of mankind for a seriously long part of our existence. As I mentioned previously, the annexation of Mictlan can be linked to several parts of history, so of course it’s going to look like a parallel - history repeats itself. Humanity has not ascended to some kind of level where there is no need for conflict anymore. The annexation of Mictlan happened months ago, the Peacekeeper Mandate was unveiled in Oct 2021. Back then people believed I was paralleling the Revolution of South America. So again, people was always see a parallel in conflict, because conflict rarely ever changes shape or form. I do not believe postponing the arc would do any good, especially considering there is no “time limit” for a war. World War One took four years. World War Two took approximately six years. Should I wait four to six years to release the rest of the arc? Or twenty, if we’re going by American-Afghanistan standards? This isn’t some military exercise that is going to suddenly find itself tied up and sent on its way. It’s a bad situation, and everything is being done to assist them, but … life goes on, unfortunately. I apologise if it causes discomfort, but there will always be a parallel to these sort of things because they have happened countless times in our history. It was 11 months old before there was any development on the annexation of Mictlan, I do not plan on stopping / postponing an area of lore that is in dire need of lore development. I stand with the people of Ukraine, and they are in my thoughts and prayers.
  2. Both of these represent a much more "hopeful" Orion Spur - one with a sliver of interstellar order. How you view them, and how would you change them if you could? Where do you eventually hope these two things will lead, and what foundations could they possibly lay out?
  3. Beginning of the Continuation of the Mandate Arc Article #1 Protests across Mictlan The Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has been attempting to quell the protests occurring across Mictlan, having only increased after the announcement of the Peacekeeper Mandate to be continued indefinitely by President Joseph Dorn in late 2463. Experts and the Tau Ceti government say this is as a result of increased militant actions from the radical anti-corporate group “Samaritans”. These protests are part of a larger Samaritan effort against the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate and the Republic of Biesel. The Samaritans have supposedly managed to garner even more support, despite their aggressive resistance to the Legionnaire occupation of Mictlan, even continuing such after the organization found itself promoted to the official armed forces of the Republic of Biesel - and received significant advances in the technology available to them thanks to contributions by the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate. Similar to the last reports regarding the attacks by the Samaritans, major population centres across Mictlan have found themselves engulfed in anti-Biesel propaganda. Posters litter the walls of cities while flyers decrying the SCC and Republic of Biesel have been spread throughout community centers. These attempts at propaganda against the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate and the Republic of Biesel has resulted in the megacorporations announcing that they will be implementing a new special initiative that will assist in restoring order to the Corporate Reconstruction Zone, at the behest of the republic. While no details about the initiative have been revealed, sources close to the president state that a “Project Aura'' has been greenlit for development. We will keep you loyal readers apprised of further information as it is released. Date: 2/28/2464
  4. While the current political climate across the globe, I think it might help to focus on our own conflicts within the Auroraverse. What do you believe should be explored / expanded upon? What do you think of the existing conflicts (Peackeeper Mandate / Biesel-Sol Cold War)? Please, do not discuss and/or joke about the IRL situation occuring. Thank you.
  5. This is being denied to the following reasons: We are going to be focusing on the development of the NBT Lore. Writing and expanding on the economy of the Auroraverse would require a lot of manpower, and would likely have to alter many different aspects of the economic code present within the code. I am not against this in the future, but currently we simply do not have the manpower to spare, nor is it a necessity that is required. Thank you for your efforts. Locking and archiving within the next 24 hours.
  6. The districts of Mendell City are considered “old lore” for the most part. What do you think should be improved upon or retouched? Should every species get a centric district?
  7. *Glorsh-Era. "Everything changed in 2407 on the planet Konyang when a Terraneus Diagnostics survey team stumbled upon a sealed cave housing preserved assumed Glorsh-era mining drones." Not necessarily Glorsh-made drones, presumedly Glorsh-made! Which is why I'd personally like to see a more canon'd version of this, but its not a hill I'm going to die on, just think it'd make more sense!
  8. Here is my take: I really enjoy Baselines. I think they're the best frame, and by large should be the majority of IPC populace (like in Biesel, not necessarily on station due to how "cheap" they are to reproduce and also being some of the first frames avaliable to Positronics). I'm unsure how to expand them in lore, but I would like to see an expansion. While I somewhat-enjoy the current origin of the Positronic, I think it should be a splice of two things; alien-vault technology and skrell technology. This would give "evidence" of possible synthetic revolution, but also would be counter-evidence as people could say majority of the positronic comes from alien-vault technolgoy which ofsets the skrell technology. I'd really like the SIM / SLF movements to make a return. Looking back of the stuff that was done, I genuinely think that this would give a "good" and a "bad" side to the advancement of IPC rights. To me, it feels like we're advancing IPC rights quite quickly. Lancer's current pathway to IPC rights feels a lot slower and in my opinion a lot better. A slowburn, instead of a fastburn, unlike previous maintainers of Synthetic Lore Development. His management of the species has brought me back to enjoying its lore! I think Scrappers and District 14 (I think its 14?) are ripe for the picking, and I'm waiting in anticipation for when the Synthetic Lore Team eventually begins developing them.
  9. So, instead of a daily topic, we're moving to a weekly topic because the amount of daily subjects will soon run thin. Anyhow, what are your takes on synthetics - everything about them! (factions, origins, etc)
  10. Hi there. Do you mind writing an extract (between 400 - 600 words) on Synthetics within the Coalition of Colonies or the Solarian Alliance? This can be filled with whatever you find interesting. Goodluck, interested to see what you come up with.
  11. Hi there, me again. If possible, do you mind writing a small extract (between 300 - 500 words) for a new faction situated within the Wasteland? Or, something relating to Ouerea (this might be something like Cuisine, Daily Life, or anything else that you'd fine interesting). Goodluck, look forward to seeing what you come up with.
  12. Hi there. Goodluck. There are no wrong answers.
  13. I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not, but I will approach the subject as being serious. We may as well have kept Wizard if this is the route that people wish to go. I see no reason to remove technomancer, and again it has more of an impact on low pop than it does high pop. For the sake of people who aren’t in an American time zone, do not remove this. If you do at least replace it with something more interesting than meteors - which literally only gives engineering an objective with everyone else dying within a few moments as rocks pierce through the hull.
  14. Hi there, me again. 1. What do you believe is the first problem to tackle for post-KOTW? You mentioned in lore general that they area of lore has stagnated. Do you have any proposals for how to get it moving and grooving again, 2. Do you mind writing up something small for perhaps a piece of Unathi-Skrell relations? Where do you see it going? 3. Similar to the above, can you write something small on a piece of Unathi-Tajara relations? Goodluck. There are no wrong answers.
  15. I do not think it is a secret that we haven’t gotten along in the past, I’d like to think we’ve moved forward and gotten over it, however, I do have some preliminary questions that I will likely expand on through the selection process. 1. Hypothetically, let's say you have complete and unfettered access to take lore in any direction you want. What would you do? 2. What do you not enjoy about Lore? How would you remedy this? 3. How do you feel about interspecies coordination? 4. Do you understand that the Lore Team sometimes has team projects and that you may be expected to contribute to such? Do you see yourself having issues with working on non-Synthetic lore? 5. Do you understand that should you be accepted your primary duties will fall within the realm of Synthetic lore development? Thank you for your efforts in applying. Goodluck, there are no wrong answers.

  19. This application is denied. Thank you for your contributions, and I applaud your efforts!
  20. This application is accepted! Congrats on your promotion.
  21. Hi there. Goodluck. There are no wrong answers.
  22. Hi there. After a discussion with the Lore Team, we have decided that this doesn’t align with our goals for the Samaritans or Mictlan. I applaud your effort, and thank you for your contribution. This application was unsuccessful, and is being denied. Locking and archiving within the next 24 hours.
  23. End of the People's Protection Arc Article #6 Stellar Corporate Conglomerate unveils Scholarship The Stellar Corporate Conglomerate has unveiled the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion Corporate Scholarship, a program funded by megacorporations designed to give back to those within the ranks of the Republic of Biesel’s armed forces, most specifically Tau Ceti Legion. The Scholarship will cover the entirety of tuition, as well as university housing. Included in its stipulations is that those applying for the scholarship must currently be enlisted within the Legion and that it wouldn’t apply to veterans or individuals that have yet to sign up, however, can apply retroactively if an employee is still advancing their studies and is enlisted within the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion. With the announcement of the promotion of the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion to the official armed forces of the Republic of Biesel and their considerable increase in funding, the organization will likely grow considerably in the next few months - as it did during the Refugee Crisis of 2463. The minor forces of the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion may soon become a dominating force within the Orion Spur. Date: 01/25/2464
  24. Hi there. Thanks for applying. Goodluck. There are no wrong answers.
  25. Article #4 of the People's Protection Arc Tau Ceti Foreign Legion Updates Training Tactics The Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has included in its updated manifesto that training tactics are to change in the future, as well as the introduction of reserve forces - allowing for enlisted members of the organization to continue to serve even whilst travelling abroad. However, in order to achieve the requirements for citizenship, an individual must actively be deployed, meaning that any amount of time within the reserve force is not counted towards citizenship. Reporters from the Orion Oracle conducted interviews with those within the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion regarding these recent additions, with Suraya Al-Zahrani commenting: "Well, like, Suri thinks it's a good thing on the whole. She didn't want to annul her contract or something with a conflict of interest between the Legion and the Horizon initiative, so-- yeah. Reservist is just fine by her, really, since it avoids any trouble for her with the whole thing. Citizenship wasn't specifically this one's reason for enlisting, though; she can't really comment on reserve time not counting." Perhaps the reputation that the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has gained over the years as the laughing stock of the Republic of Biesel shall wane, and instead be replaced with a growing admiration as they continue to serve the growing Republic. Additionally, perhaps the Peacekeeper Mandate may soon be discontinued thanks to the upgrades dispersed across the Corporate Reconstruction Zone. Date: 01/24/2464
