No, it does not defeat the purpose of tau ceti basic. you keep getting so hung up on this "Spanish in tau ceti thing". Spanish has its own alphabet. its a single separate language. you are not hearing "Spanish in tau ceti" you are not hearing it in a language you should be able to understand. you are hearing SPANISH in SPANISH. if you know Spanish in real life then you can respond IN SPANISH. Its so silly to try to frame an argument over the arbitrary choices the devs of this game made about languages. There are mechanical means to speak in sign, siik, galactic, and lots of the other languages. There is no mechanical representation for Spanish so you just have to actually be able to understand it. The policy for as long as i have been on this server has been that you can speak in Spanish, Russian, whatever you want IC so long as when needed you can communicate in English. outright forbidding people from speaking in other languages not represented by the game IC is unlikely to happen.

So, this? I have to contest this honestly. Both of these characters have gotten a reputation IC for causing trouble. The SECOND a head or security tells you not to do something you get agressive and fight back. Usually just with words but yeah...disobeying orders gets you in a lot of trouble. I have seen it on numerous times myself and even experienced it once.

Yes, all combat is considered shuttle griefing. Unless its a really weird situation where a whole team of cultists chase a sec team or a militia onto the shuttle then everyone is free to let hell break loose. The rules on that are a bit more clear in our update rules coming soon. Anyway i spoke at lengthy with this player in game, showed them their notes as well. The warning here is going to stick as given your history this was a fairly generous decision.

Alright, judging from all your notes and stuff this is a pretty isolated incident as far as i can tell. I am fine with placing a warning on you so long as this kinda stuff doesnt repeat. you have plausible deniability once the crew "reset" you. Sorry for the late response here. I will reach a final judgement in the morning on this. I really feel like a LOT of leeway was given to the AI in the initial encounter in the upload. they came in unarmed and walked right in while being followed by two security cyborgs. OOC they KNOW shit is about to go down. When you finally did subdue them they didnt even try to call for help and where rewarded by being lasered to death. The captain was given the same treatment for not raising the alert or sending a message to CC when he heard the laser fire. Although, its worth noting you owned up to in your first sentence youbar. that counts for something.

you linked the old rules nanako, the clause "CONTRIBUTE TO OTHERS ENJOYMENT" is what was removed. In the new rules it was changed to drive a story. I dont even know why you are quoting rules in the first place when literally my first post on this thread says "so long as its escalated properly". Meaning "so long as you didn't break a rule". Also you cant get used to malf-AI unless you actually play it. Pretending there isnt a lot of pressure on the rule and then coming down hard when they inevitably fuck up is just bad admin practice. Mass chaos and murder is completely fine within "drive a story and generate interaction". In fact its always been fine. Again, so long as its escalated properly. There is an important distinction between the two rule sets. The original rule implied you as an antag where only their to make everyone else have a good time and how dare you even think about your own fun. fuck that, i am more interested in a decent story being told. Players not ending up enjoying the story you told does not necessarily mean a rule was broken. The distinction is important.

We removed the clause in our rules about antag's primary goal being "contribute to others enjoyment" for a reason. It promoted a disgusting entitlement attitude. People quoted it in ahelps pretty much anytime they died. Sure, i get you do not enjoy getting murdered by a crazy AI but i think if the AI at least puts some effort into it then theres really no issue. Chaos and mass death for its own sake can be your end goal if you work at it properly. I dont think we should try to discourage AI from doing something just because a lot of players dont go about very well. You gotta understand that malf AI is pretty tricky to pull off if you're new to antagging.

The hall of fame was created solely by me. I alone hold the keys to that castle. As such nobody but me decides what is and is not acceptable to get entered into it. That sounds slightly tyrannical and it probably is. Its not just for good roleplay moments. Its also for hilarious unfortunate circumstances. CCIA graves killing CCIA lund in the shuttle accident is a prime example. It was awesome. First things first i have been sitting on the idea for months. Submissions are not impressive I mostly agree with this one. I am still "feeling out" the barrier for entry but seeing as we now have quite a few apps sitting in limbo this can mostly be fixed with "garn get off your apps and take care of the shit you made". Self Submissions are bad This one i knew was going to be controversial. Originally when i made it i outright said no self submissions. I decided to change it with the clause that the barrier entry is much higher if you self-submit. I do not intend to create a toxic environment where people chucklefuck and meme on server and then post LELE LOOK HOW MEME I AM. I had a few people PM me about things they thought of submitting but couldn't since they where involved. On top of that it either requires someone ELSE to post it or you have to go around and ask someone to post it on your behalf, both situations are kind of awkward. So essentially i understand how this can be abused but i think ill be able to stomp people that try to pull the wool over on me. This leads into your next point. Its mostly a quality check issue that i again need to get off my ass and fix. Again though, me being the overlord of the hall means i get to decide what is and is not hall of fame material. I do not really have a concrete idea as of yet. I can at least agree low effort meme trash is gonna get denied ( i dont even have a bin for denied apps yet jesus fuck im awful). Anyway thats the gist of the current situation. Thoughts?

So long as its escalated properly and not a stealth malf until delta there is literally no problem here. The ball is kind of in the court of the antag to decide what you're all going to be up against that round.

A chunk of the problem is when we PM someone about an issue and they say another staff member cleared it they cant remember who it was. We are all on a staff discord so its normally fairly easy to check with someone if we know who it is. If we do not know who it was it becomes a guessing game of "ok who among you cleared this and why?". Another part of the problem is when a more lackadaisical staff member (like me) clears a silly gimmick on a dead hour extended round but it becomes a much bigger problem at high pop with fifty five people on. I do not really have an easy solution for you, since there isnt one. We only really document instances where we punish players or tell them not to do something. Although it might be possible to establish some form of notation for more controversial decisions. I can probably bring this up in the next staff meeting honestly. Anyway, in the mean time it helps to remember the staff members name. The rest is our problem.

Often times its easier said than done, but i still try to at least make an effort. I do not like when issues or grievances are not aired by staff and players a like. I am more interested in tackling them and gauging them. Shadow and i are very much cut from the "get shit done" cloth and as head administrators i think we will go far. So, this is your chance. Any issue you have large or small i would like you to post it here. I promise that i will personally reply to it, and give my thoughts on it. Communication has always been a two way road. Lets try and keep the cobble from getting too cracked yeah?
