  1. Lore Impact (Small/Medium/Large): Small Species: Unathi foundation, but general themes owed to the nature of the submission. Short Description: Rewrites and expands upon the now-deprecated "Xeno-Zandiziites" section that was removed with my first Zandi LCA. Also technically redoes the notable figures I submitted there; I'm not sure if the lore team intentionally left them out or just forgot about it, but I'm going with a slightly less liberal approach. How will this be reflected on-station?: More material to work with ICly in terms of Zandiziite stuff, and everything I said then still applies (more material for passengers, potential loadout items, etc.) Does this addition do anything not achieved by what already exists?: We had a section on this and now we don't, but we will if this gets accepted. Pretty much reinforces the whole "non-Unathi can be Zandis" thing we had going without leaving people looking in the "view history" abyss for previous versions of pages. Do you understand that the project may change over time in ways you may not foresee once it is handed over to the Lore Team? You guys gotta start paying me. (yes lmao) Long Description:
  2. I've given gilt a +1 on their application like 20 times now, do I need to say it any louder? Hang on, what's the maximum- +1
  3. Elwood is a very well-written character who breaks the Solarian Marine mold and I don't think it would be out of place for him to be a little patriotic in the workplace (I mean, you can already do it with normal flags. This one is just cooler), nor do I think the Conglomerate would take too much issue with associating with the 32nd considering they opposed the SRF (and I think the 33rd). +1!
  4. I've seen Elizabeth a few times as a captain thus far. They do a good job of making sure everything is in proper order, though I haven't yet interacted with them as a character. I'll be updating this once I have more material to go off of, but I'll say for now it's a tentative +1.
  5. I love roleplaying with Dynhquarra and Zeevh, I have no doubts geKo can play a Skrell proficiently. +1
  6. HELLO K'LAX FRIEND!! sorry i got a little excited. Lent is great at roleplaying (they're literally a lore deputy) and I've had nothing but positive experiences thus far. +1
  7. Bumping this to say it's a great idea past simple ship distress beacons, better alerts the crew of what's going on off-ship and realistically the SCC would have more than one failsafe for an expeditionary crew of some kind given their importance in the setting.
  8. I'm in favor of a counter that shows how many players have a certain antagonist preference toggled. Would be a good way of showing how many more people we might need to get a proper merc/ninja/etc round going and take a lot of the sting out of blindly setting preferences and hoping you don't get picked to be solo.
  9. I'm mixed on this. I like the idea of having an official code of how to conduct a "first contact" event or situation, but I'm also unsure of whether or not the SCC would be outlining this for anyone on the vessel, and if the SCC does outline it for certain members, there's always reasons as to why that would be too much. For example, it being known only to command would make sense in the context of the Horizon being a vessel looking only for phoron, and thus first contact would be relegated to command given how deep and serious of a situation that would be. Then again, it wouldn't make sense for everyone in command to know how to make first contact and, say, have all of RnD and security completely unaware of how to formally make contact with a non-standard lifeform. Unlike expeditionary vessels specifically designed to seek out sapient life (see: Baystation) the Horizon has no obligation to carry out a formal "hey, what's up, random organism?" and wouldn't be punished for gunning down a random creature if it was actively tearing the ship apart, let alone have a whole codified procedure on it. If this was implemented, I think it should be implemented ICly following discovery of, say, a new simplemob in an admin event, or something. Have it be that the SCC realized that being an expeditionary vessel in search of phoron is probably going to have other consequences. If nothing else, it would make science slightly more worth playing.
  10. I think there is merit to both implementing this policy and not, mostly just because someone passed a command whitelist app for, say, OM, doesn't mean they can suddenly captain in an event round (which I know never happens; this is a hyperbolic example), but the alternative is barring perfectly fine players who want to contribute to the story and setting in favor of most likely biased picks from either staff or lore. Realistically I think the issue stems from the fact we don't have many events as is, which is why people new to the whitelist sometimes don't immediately get the nuances of being a spearhead in one. If we had more events (canon or not, erring on the latter for practice) this would be a complete non-issue.
  11. I've seen each of fyshen's characters at least once, with Hilda winning out in general appearances. I like how they characterize her and the roleplay with them has always felt real, like my character was talking to a living, breathing human being. I'd like to see a trial from them. +1
  12. I love everything I see from Pocheto, and that's not just because they made a Drek'za (though that's a big part of it). +1, let her *chitter.
  13. Hi Tzui! First of all, +1, love your characters and I think you'll be able to play an IPC correctly. Secondly, I need to do the thing where I ask people who play the characters I like additional questions on their whitelist app to help. (Hope I'm not overstepping, lore team.) 1. How does Liu-su view self-preservation and his personal goals? 2. How did Liu-su manage to get a job (or choose to sign a contract to work upon) with the Horizon? 3. What's Liu-su's current ownership status? Good luck dude, I love Hans and Sebastian a bunch.
  14. 1. Live dessysalta reaction. 2. I'll reformat this sometime within the next day to be a proposal for a marine division that served with the 1MRB.
  15. Ublicto is easily (sorry, guys) the best writer on Aurora and I will say this with my chest to whoever asks. That out of the way, I have a great relationship with Ublicto as a writer, from gold-standard antagonist gimmicks, to heart to hearts between my Kira and his Elwood, to getting and giving advice to one another on how to properly accomplish certain things in-game or OOCly (from application recommendations to chit-chat about how to write exploitables). I think the best thing I could say about him is how amazingly competent in Aurora's human politics he is; he has an amazing understanding of how things tick and I love his sense of direction. I have questions I'd ask him about things like antagonist factions, more Sol nonsense, etc. but I'm a little afraid of overstepping given the seriousness of a deputy position (not to mention the submissions have already closed, so I want to prevent giving the lore team a headache because of me). Seriously, this dude rocks. Get him on the team ASAP, and I'd like to apologize for not giving a +1 earlier when I noticed people were doing it to the other apps. +1
  16. Lore Impact (Small/Medium/Large): Small-Medium Species: Human Short Description: Introduces a new division of the marines with respect to the 1MRB, changes how the Visegradi NDF incorporated into Szalai's navy, and adds some additional text to the Mandates page regarding these two things (specifically the SSRM). Also gives the Wildlands Squadron a mention on the SSRM page. How will this be reflected on-station?: Expands upon existing SSMD/SSRM/Visegrad (and to a degree the SMC/SAF) concepts and points a little more towards the Wildlands Squadron, and provides greater (and more importantly, relevant) material to pull from for ex-Sol or ex-military characters, or those who would be affected by them. Does this addition do anything not achieved by what already exists?: Most of it was left up to speculation beforehand, and while these things can be inferred it's nice to have them in writing. Also adds yet another place of origin for Squadron PMCs and gives them additional depth past "I was in the 103rd/104th/etc. fleet" or "I'm a political refugee that doesn't really have a choice." Also allows me to solidify Kira Vasquez's battalion without linking an entire document of names and sounding like a crazy person over Discord so people can get in on SSMD action. Do you understand that the project may change over time in ways you may not foresee once it is handed over to the Lore Team? Yup! Long Description: For the Solarian Armed Forces page, another Notable Marine Formation: For Visegrad's Defense & Law Enforcement section; there are a couple takes here in case the lore team prefers one over the other, or both of them. In case of simply replacing the last paragraph of this section: In case of rewriting it altogether: For the SSRM:
  17. Player who wrote the announcement here. In all honesty, I didn't figure there was no such thing as a residential security force prior to being PMed by an admin after the fact to let me know that residential is a grey zone. My intent with the bulletin post was just to add additional depth and show that the events (of which I participated in both, albeit not crew-sided) had more impact than a simple 2 hour gameplay session (and I have no issue with my character not being the "hero" because I never wrote it with that intent or contempt). It felt unreasonable to assume that, in the event the Horizon is being bombarded and boarded by eight ne'er-do-wells, the residential deck is completely unaffected, moreover that a legitimately qualified Head of Security wouldn't try to organize at least a small squad in case things took a turn for the worst, and instead just kick their feet up like nothing's happening. In retrospect I probably should have consulted staff, but there's a good point to be made if I actually had no idea I should have done so in the first place. How about having staff-written announcements directly after the event that details possible damage or conflict that occurred below deck? I.e. Another pirate event occurs with ship combat, and admins mention part of the deck is evacuated and sealed off. Player characters can be chosen individually or not at all to have been affected by this, which solves the problem of characters proclaiming heroic nonsense/wounds/etc whilst also allowing for participation or involvement with those who either couldn't attend or were playing as a different character.
  18. I haven't yet had the pleasure of being directly underneath Burns as a character whilst in command, but I can tell you with absolute certainty he's (both Ublicto and his character) great with antagonist gimmicks. One of the things I noticed during my gimmick (which admittedly revolved around Burns' exploitables) was the fact that Burns was talking constantly over the radio, making effective callouts, asking for check-ins, getting them, and responding with more information or callouts as the situation needed it. Moreover, all of what he said didn't detract from where he was at the time of the callouts, having been a direct witness to a lot of his interactions, Ublicto made sure to balance roleplay and quick, efficient, calculated callouts and never miss a mark. I'll update this if I serve directly under Ublicto as say a HOS or XO, but I felt like I should offer my insight as an antagonist, too. +1, +100 even.
  19. i miss marcus zhao :(

  20. #1 Mictlan fan here. I completely agree with this change considering I already have a character from Nueva Tenochtitlan, which is a city on Mictlan that was settled by Mexicans. There's no reason not to change this given someone might incorrectly assume you can't make a Mexican-rooted character who was born on Mictlan/takes the Mictlani accent.
  21. I have nothing but good words for Ublicto and the characters they've made over their time spent on Aurora. I love their writing style and how well they can coordinate things like antagonist events, players, and I have no doubt they would be a good fit for command. (P.S. Raided by the Southern Military District, you say? 👀)
It's a Halloween party, simple as. People got drunk, people had fun and socialized. I liked the giant costume area at the start, I was honestly afraid we wouldn't have enough variety, but we had plenty. The "prop guns" were a nice touch. Shout out to Satan (She/her), who threw gang signs up during the group photo and also fake-maimed like three people LMAO. That was hilariously awesome.
  22. Reporting Personnel: GEVURAH (Gebura) Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Bridge Crew Game ID: cqs-bf3N Personnel Involved: CHESED (First Responder, witness) Sebastian Richter (Security Officer, witness) Oke Isonoe (Physician, offender) Secondary Witnesses: N/A Time of Incident: 14:35 GST, 2465-10-25 Real Time: 9:35 EST, 2023-10-25 Location of Incident: Medical bay Nature of Incident: [x] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [x] - Misconduct [x] - Other - Potential neglect of duty. Oke knowingly committed all that he did whilst on-duty with the potential to have cost crew their lives in the event he was immediately needed, but none such patients arrived. Overview of the Incident: Oke Isonoe entered the medical bay to perform what I assume is a standard shift. Upon his arrival, he was smoking, which is not permitted within the medical bay proper. Upon being told to stop, he did. However, he would come to return with another cigarette, this time drinking out of a bottle of Qel'Zvol Hospitality's Prestige Beer, and khlibnyz. He was told to discard his cigarette once more, and dispose of his alcohol, as drinking on-duty is poor form at best and incredibly negligent at worst. He then returned with an electronic cigarette, very clearly acting disingenuous and implying there was nothing security (Sebastian) could do despite this case of procedure-skirting. He then produced Xuizi juice and began to drink it, which although it is butanol-based and has little effect on humans, can still lead to intoxication if enough is drank. Shortly thereafter, he returned with a hypospray and began injecting himself under the pretense of it being "burn medication"; none of us (CHESED, Sebastian, and I) were able to discern any visible wounds on his person, and after five or so injections, Oke was slurring his speech and vomiting over himself, falling over and failing basic hand-eye coordination. It was then he was taken into medical for a diagnosis and treatment. I find this blatant disregard for professionalism and workplace safety incompatible with organic life and would like to request action be taken or, if required, submit this employee to a psychological evaluation or review request. Submitted Evidence: Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [x] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: None were available. However, Officer Richter did conduct and serve an arrest. Actions taken: See above; in addition, Officer Richter tentatively served Isonoe with an i206 - Neglect of Duty charge. Additional Notes: I am unsure and frankly apprehensive about the i206 charge; I do not believe it is sufficient, and as of writing the physician is still dry heaving. In addition, Sebastian Richter and CHESED are open to interviews should the need arise, as I have asked them personally.
