  1. >Not listening to the Captain >M-MUH LAWFUL GOOD Seriously man, if the Captain says something, it's probably best to do it rather than disagreeing just because. If you don't want lethals fired at you, don't mutiny against the authority.
  2. Seems to me like you're playing the victim here.
  3. The first rule of improvisation is 'Yes, and...', meaning that when something happens, you go with it and adapt. Saying no stops the flow flat in it's tracks. Always go with the flow and adapt yourself around it, instead of complaining because someone does something you don't like. No offence meant.
  4. Man, if someone told me to fuck off, I'd pretty much do everything within my power to stay close and piss them off, to be honest. Act like that, get treated like that. No comment on the rest.
  5. Hey, Chaz here. A lot of you might have seen me around. Along with Tool and F_Sphere, I was one of the original trio that guided Aurora when we split from Apollo, and the guy who hosted. I handed off to Sphere when I had some personal issues, and have stuck around as staff since then. For lack of better words, I'm one of the Old Guard. More and more recently, I've had run-ins with staff for issues which are trivial, but have been blown more and more out of propertion, with Aurora becoming more focused on rules and such, rather than people having fun. Alongside this, I've noticed a lot of issues where conduct of staff and players hasn't been good. These have included: - Being told I can't have a mute character, after explaining the character repeatedly and having never been told so before. - Being told I can't shorten a half hour/45-minute wait down to five minutes by building a console myself. - Having Skull go over my head when I was dealing with a case and then accusing me of things in Skype messages. - Being backed into a corner repeatedly by other staff over the Sue and other issues after expressing my opinion, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. - Being told repeatedly by other staff to stop talking. - Permabans for talking - http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2043 - Permabans for talking - The first link is the one that caused my resignation. Going from a warning to a permaban because someone wasn't taking it serious is badmin-levels of conduct. I expressed my disagreements and was told to drop it. Other issues besides this, too. At one point, I was proud to call myself part of Aurora, seeing it for a fun community where everyone was treated fairly and decently. The original guidelines laid out, agreed on by the majority of the original community were: 1. Create a fair and fun environment for players and staff. 2. Ensure equality is clear, because everyone deserves a voice. (The primary reason everything was originally done with up/downsides, to ensure everyone felt like they had a say) 3. Build a close-up community that is willing to help others, no matter what. Looking back now, and looking at the server currently, I don't feel like any of this is true any more. People have been forced out of playing on Aurora because of other people's conduct on the forums and in-game, as well as that of staff, and now I'm one of them too. Aurora has changed from a community where everyone tried to accept everyone else, and to help them become a better part of the community, to what it is now. All in all, this is my resignation as a staff member, and a player.
  6. Could be a nice touch. It would mean more work to figure out a crime, but that's part of the fun, taking what you've got and making sense of it!
  7. I think it would be nice to have some sort of entertainer role. Even if it wasn't the clown or mime, it might lighten the atmosphere somewhat.

I had the same issue. What fixed it for me was installing 64bit Java onto my 64bit system.

Rusty built a penis island. Our house is next to the penis island.
  10. This is the risk you take when you decide to take prosthetics.
  11. This sounds like one hell of an ordeal! Do you have any logs of this that we can take a look at? I feel that if this happened, this is a major issue alongside the reason for the complaint, as no staff member should be using their position to threaten others.
  12. I really rather like this. it looks so much neater!
  13. This sounds a lot better than the current stance on it. I play Lyric every now and then, a mute due to circumstances, and I was recently told by another staff member 'no, you can't do that'. Seeing as I've been playing Lyric since before Aurora was founded and never had an issue with it, I didn't take much notice. Restricting disabled people in a workspace is discrimination (honk). Adding in this sort of thing would mean there's more roleplay opportunity for those who wish to play these sorts of characters. Loosening it to just understanding Tau Basic would be fine by me.
  14. I'd add my vote to this, if it goes through under a probationary period.
  15. I feel that everyone should at least be able to see it.
  16. Bring back Martial Law rounds. All hail.
  17. Happy birthday, normies.
  18. I believe /tg/ code already has the ability to reskin your revolver by right-clicking, and gives a good five or six different skin choices. I don't believe it would be too hard to put in, to make diversity a bit easier to achieve without custom applications.
  19. Laughed more than I should have.
  20. The reason the M1911P is never used is because it's hilariously OP. So ridiculous in fact, the only way to get one is through admin spawning. The icon looks a bit weak in my opinion for such a ridiculous weapon, and the deagle looks really small considering the punch it packs.
  21. I can see the merit behind this idea, as in making people with the whitelisting to be heads easier to pick out meaning new players can go to them for help. On the other hand, it'll restrict non-whitelisted people from probably ever getting to be a head through IC interactions, and give people the ability to lord over others saying they're 'senior'.
  22. This sounds nice. For such a small change, it might cause more interesting situations.
