My preference is blue sec. Personally it reminds me of Half-life Blue Shift which is 10/10 and would also make our security more unique to this server. I appreciate that others may prefer red sec but meh.

Moot point as you can bypass it completely with cryo and gateway. If people stay on the Odin doing nothing (both non antag and antag) then clearly this isn't the game for them. I think an RP instant messaging group is more up their alley.

I get your reservations but I see this as giving more freedom to the dev/lore team to produce more super cool technologies. Maybe even technologies that have no real effect mechanically, but effect the overall setting (clinical immortality, psy-ops, fast growing uber-animals etc). It would require technological progression on the dev/lore side though but I wouldn't worry too much about that as new tech would need more power. New 'depleted photon tipped blue space bullets' may well teleport past personal shields and pierce armour, but it still damages a person as much as any other bullet. It doesn't necessarily have to be the product of the scientists on station either. Like the antag contests certain research could be tied in with the overarching setting (this new product is the result.of the entire NT science division etc). It also doesn't have to be the objects mechanically IG. People.could submit ideas for technologies that could be researched and the devs/lore could approve/reject them. If approved they can be super secretly added.to the thresholds.

Now this may be a '''tad''' controversial but how about instead of having R&D research up the chain every round, instead have a points based persistent system in which scientists generate points in round which after a certain threshold has been hit (staff discretion) items at said threshold can now be produced at any time and, if the mappers are feeling frisky, may become standard equipment throughout the station. For example, enough points are gathered in X tree to produce better power cells. These can now be produced anytime by R&D and come as standard in APCs, equipment etc. Thoughts?

Don't forget: If secuirty saw you do the crime they do not need a warrant. You might think you're admiral of the ruse-cruise when you sneakily break into chemistry only to be grabbed by sec' on the way out because they were watching you on the cameras the whole time bro. Low level crimes can be "worked" by just paying a fine. It's regulations fam. If you get caught just apologise and say you'll pay the fine. This includes trespassing and petty theft.

So to confirm, you can still spawn as normal via cryo and gateway? If so I'm 100% for this for the reasons you've already stated. In my case I have a stake in cryo spawn remaining as I have characters that actually dwell on station for month long assignments.

What Stryker said. I was in this round and sec were passively resisting with am aim to violently rebel when the right time/equipment became available. The AI wasn't bragging about killing, merely warning others to stop resisting. It's all well and good saying everyone wasn't metagaming but from and OOC and IC standpoint the player and IG AI doesn't know that folks entering their core aren't entering to destroy it. OOC we know it can't be carded but IC we don't know this.

The "meta ERP going to quickly hop on skype and jack it" is a moot point as you could do that anyway. Two guys meet up at the bar, say "hi" and alt-tab for a hot steamy session on skype or whatever. Also I appreciate that from an employers perspective, you don't want your employees making sweet sweet love goo at work, hell, you don't want them kissing or showing any romantic relations because you're at work, do some fucking work. That means we're back to square one and it means that AI is still useless on that end. I don't understand why you guys wish to limit AI in this manner, as I said, it's an all seeing eye that can witness everything going on on the station, you may hate them but you have no reason to distrust them as even they hate you back they can not break your trust and as proven the last incident with AIs happened 200 years ago and I suppose 200 years is enough to build trust in AI. I mean it's 400 years later, robotic age and all. Literally fair enough. I say make it so "officially" the AI's word is gospel, but lore wise some races (SKRELL) and folsk tend to distrust AI's to the point where it's not unheard of for them to ignore said AI's. Good for rp ya see.

Coolbc's character was just being an IC jobsworth as he admits. It's totally fine to act on what the AI says. Most will agree and let you go on your way but if you run into a character that say, mistrusts AIs/hates you, you're gonna have trouble. Just roll with it IG I'd say. Some people take the NT approved AIs word as gospel (my characters and many others) some don't. I sort of revoke my +1 and say that it should be flexible. In short, if a warden/HoS is on you should get a warrant if the AI claims something. If they're not on you can just go for gold and arrest. Thoughts?
