[Inactive] Player Complaint - Metagrudge Issue
DatBerry replied to Chaznoodles's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
The only the incident i remember was a head of staff demoting you over growing kois in maintenance, they were taking in other rounds into consideration and were told not to, you need to know that IC actions have IC consequences. Ill be archiving this due to inactivity, if you wish to re-open it, PM me or another staff member. -

[Accepted] HunterRS's Whitelist App Trial 2
DatBerry replied to HunterRS's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
ive been avoiding giving feedback for a while because edgar is a shit and keeps releasing slimes i dont want to see more crap heads of staff, but i've seen him as an intern RD and he did not display any of the red flags i usually see on bad heads. my first memories of edgar was waaay back, he was the number 1 source of xeno outbreaks, fast forward a few months after bay code switch, edgar is back with even more xeno outbreak, he ahelped once asking for help with xenobio. i gave him some tips and tricks i used, and im not sure if my tips did actually help him, but he did lower his morality rate in the lab significantly. while i do not play science frequently ever. i am not not that well versed with edgar's ways of handling people inside his department, but the dozen times ive walked to the RnD desk while edgar was inside he was always less than thrilled to be of help, and was just trying to get rid of me, while this isn't exactly bad, it doesn't really portray the picture you have in your character story of him wanting to help people. but compared to way back when you made your first head of staff app, you've improved a lot. i don't hear people complaining about him other than on xenobiology. as a head of staff you need to very communicative, talk with your department, always know what they're up to, and inform command of any relevant information they may need to know, be ready to help when people require your expertise, while i do not believe you are a glove fit to be a head of staff, i believe you have big enough feet to walk in the boots without having them fall off, long enough to grow into them. do not disappoint me, +1 -
[Inactive]Staff Complaint: CakeisOssim

firstly, it was deemed valid by all of the staff online at the time, including garnsacus secondly, IC in OOC, the round is still ongoing. posting one big picture of where the AI exactly is while the round is still ongoing is just high levels of IC in OOC -
Give security basic department access to science, medical, etc
DatBerry replied to Filthyfrankster's topic in Archive
we've already discussed this and said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. but if we do have this implanted, i want security to be charged with trespass if they dont have a warrant or someone actually calling for help and are just strolling around. or give the warden a emergency access card dispenser, a 5 times use ID card, kind of like an emag/guest pass with certain access, after being used too many times it breaks and you need to explain to the warden/HoS where you spent your card and for what purpose. what this'll do is force them to only get into departments when they really need to, ofcourse these wouldnt work on high security areas. -
Even though i was supposed to take over this complaint, it seems the lore dude of IPCs have already struck judgement, so the part about helper is resolved. The OOC part does not look like harassment, i believe the staff deemed to be not harassment, nor is is IC in OOC since both of you knew what happened that round, and it wasn't shared outside, you being such an old player should've known this delta, not really sure why you thought this was Ick in Oock. Discussing something with someone in PMs is a valid way of dealing with disagreements or concerns about someone else's actions before bringing them to the complaint forums. Ill leave this open for a day before locking and archiving.

I have a few ideas, vending machines, some unavailable jumpsuits you dont usually find elsewhere(maybe even a dirty CC officer one you could wash), old IDs for non existant crewmembers, something that was reported lost but never found, if possible has access to an account on the ATMs or just random access. Machinery boards, maybe a rare emitter once in a blue moon, not that its hard for cargo to get one though, laptops with different kinds of access, might end up a shitty assistant laptpp or a captain clearance laptop with comms console access, some rare improvised weapons, like butterfly knives, spears and maybe a rare crossbow/flamethrower(none of that ghetto guns stuff), syndicakes, syndi playing cards if we have them, syndi balloons, a rare but a curse of a finding, a wizard horse mask, a living and hungry space bear, spooders, strange rocks to take to science, disabled securitons, empty chem/booze/soda dispensers, civilian and department voidsuits, glashoes and other janitorial supplies, a random animal, maybe random refined materials? Science could use em if there's no miners, just a little like 3sheets of gold, 1 uranium etc. Department package bags, some criminal was in a hurry, and dropped off his whole bag. These would be rare: Civilian bag: a knife, some space drugs, 50-200 credits Medical/chemister bag: syringes full of random chemicals, pills of space drugs, synaptizine and hyperzine, and some first aid kits and a random medical record Engineering: insulated shocked gloves, RCD, plasteel sheets, random high tech board, engineering pda cartidge Security: handcuffs, a flash, 100-300 credit stack, possibly a taser or pepper spray, a electropack and a random security record of someone Science bag: random set of materials, 500-700 credits, force gloves, night vision goggles or some other gadgets from science The bags would be randomized, and sometimes find empty ones or just internal boxes. That's all i can think of on the spot.

Jumpsuits - It's time to start looking futuristic!
DatBerry replied to Draculabot's topic in Archive
If you edit the human spirte you'll have to edit every jumpsuit, weapon, held item sprites, damage overlay and what not. Its a lot of work, we could simply resprite some uniforms to give them more details. -
i actually like how IAA don't have much to do, though extra powers may be nice, its not entirely needed. and might actually detract and end up with people going iAA just for the new updates, not for the job itself. though a egun for IAAs when the bears attack would be nice instead of a fooken FLASH

does the word vicious cycle mean anything to you? we've already gone over the same exact points over, and over and over. i think that's enough for the complaint overseer to put in judgement. i obviously cant put an end to this because the complaint is against me, i've told you why every point you brought didn't make sense to me. while the one that did make sense actually reduced your ban time. i try to be unbiased as much as i can, but you can never be sure, that's why i've been asking for opinions on this in the mod discord, but no one said the 3 day ban was unjustified. nor that your actions were valid, some actually would've went with harsher punishment. unless you bring new points, ill stop replying and increasing the thread size till garn posts.
-
i've taken over this complaint, and with my little band of disappointing minions decided to discuss this. we've discussed all the points in the thread, starting with the headbutting: while screaming intruder first thing on the radio is a bit LRPish, when the shift was small, its easy to notice someone off, but even then. you should talk to someone before shouting they're valids. a headbutt deals 20 brute, that's a serious assault, he had a good reason to run after you to maybe punch you down or push you, and you retaliate with slashing a limb off. while he should have displayed fear of you, he should also develop hatred, losing a limb is a real life changer, even with prosthetic limb. you being nice to them has no bearing on how he should treat you, you cut off a whole limb and you're trying to make it up to them by being nice? when someone believes he has the upperhand, he may attempt stupid actions. a point raised by tainavaa, you may had a strong sword, but he had a ranged sedative. again, losing a limb can be a reason to lead to murder, thinking he had the advantage he went to take his revenge. but the execution of your revenge was sub standards. "hey how are you doing?" "fine, thank you" pew pew pew pew. No. you need to put more effort into your actions, just like how antags need to roleplay their antagonizing actions, you need to roleplay your revenge. final verdict: the reasons for your actions have been deemed valid, your execution of events has been deemed sub-standards. consider this a warning to improve your action roleplay efforts.

i've discussed this with some other staff members and we agree'd the ban is valid. ill give my reasoning in a more detailed and clear version. since i think we've exhausted every discussion point raised, ill leave this to garn to drop his onions and garlic on afterwards. The reason for staying with a 3 day ban was that a week ban was a bit too much when you did have a reason to enter, but that only covered entering, not staying inside, or what you did do inside. let me quote forgotten traveler from the unban thread, http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?p=70389#p70389 ive highlighted the important parts in the quote, i did not state you were trying to mislead me just because you weren't seeing the full picture, these are your own actions, you only told me you went inside to save the damsel in distress and tried to get in pressurized space till the ordeal was over when she was rescued, nothing else. but witness reports say otherwise, this has nothing to do with perspective, these are your own actions. and none of your character personality traits or psychological issues cover this. if you want to talk about realism, at the very least roll up your jumpsuit, you were in a tank top at the time, not that the atmospheric jumpsuits actually have any resistant to pressure anyway.
-
When i dropped a week ban what i was seeing was manfred going into a vented place not giving a damn about pressure and fixing it. After explaining himself better i understood why he did get in, but why and what you did while staying in was looking exactly like your notes from 2015. You said you were so close to death you couldn't climb over a table, mind you the time it took for you to setup your tent would take longer. After the ordeal was over what did manfred do? Did he go to medbay to check on himself after his near death situation? Nope. He jumped out and started to help with repairs after giving himself minor first aid treatment. Which paints the picture that he stayed inside waiting till he could start repairing.

Ill have to -1 this because mofo is just too good for you lore nerds, he should apply for mod instead! But seriously, mofo is one of the people i would point to if im asked about the greatest roleplayers of our generation, his tajara app is the only long character app ive read and actually enjoyed reading, and that's saying a lot when i cant stand reading more than 3 paragraphs stories. i dont have any doubts he can write some interesting catbeast cuddle pile bedtime stories.
-
we've established your character to be self destructive, he wanted to save a crewmember, all fine and dandy, but then decided to hang in low pressure for extended times outside of his tent that would've been long enough to have him leave, by the time you setup the air vents to fill and moved the nearby vent you could've climbed the table. but if you're self destructive behavior isn't just geared towards saving people and even fixing the station then ill have to use the awful argument of unbelievable characters that would've died long ago. its an inflatable wall, not an inflatable room. no, you would've had the valid reason of wanting to escape death, just like you had the valid reason to enter. in all of my time playing ive only seen manfred hitting on female characters, i'm actually inclined to believe he isn't actually selfless from the times ive seen him reply to crewmembers, one of the most recent one was him ignoring multiple crewmembers asking for the vendors to be fixed, without stating any reason why he cant do it, and in the end telling crewmembers to mess with wires on their own with a multitool. but that doesn't matter. the reason you entered was deemed valid, and thats why the ban was reduced, but witness accounts and your story for why you stayed inside made no fucking sense. you could've turned back as soon as you saw the captain leave with the officer. the paramedic/CMO was inside, he could've helped you leave. you could've escaped to the briefing room to flee death, which wouldn't have landed you a charge because it would fall under self defense. you could've left when you opened the firelocks multiple times according to witnesses. you could've used the emergency suits in the lockers, one of the witnesses, i believe it was the CMO mentioned this. instead of leaving after pressure was settled and bringing atmospheric equipment like pipe dispenser and do your job as an atmospheric technician, instead you started fixing electrical wires and machines like an engineer, but that's off topic. EVA storage was only like 15 tiles away. literally the first answer you gave me to why you entered the bridge was along the lines of "i wanted to support the paramedic because he didnt have firelock access and didn't have a suit either" and "is the paramedic being bwoinked about this too?" i can't speak for garn, but the policy i saw getting taken and take myself is, if the warning is old and unrelated, its not taken into consideration. e.g: two notes and a warning about chucklefucking 4 months ago, now he ganks someone, the notes aren't related and would get a warning. a note and a warning about gank 7 months ago, now he ganks someone else in the same manner, they get antag banned. a note about chucklefucking 3 weeks ago, a warning about pain RP 2 weeks ago, 2 other notes last week, and they break another rule? banned. even if its not the same incident.
-
He entered the vented bridge to save someone, but that someone was already saved when he got in, instead of leaving he decided to setup a inflatable wall on a vent and started to fill it, and also reportedly running around while it was still low pressure, even though he was asked to leave multiple times, and yes, you could've left through The conference room or through a firelock on one of your strolls through low prrssure.
-
Ok so firstly, You are not your own character, attacks on your character's obvious themes are not attacks on you, stop self inserting. Secondly, i did deem your reason to enter valid, but you did not give any real valid reasons to stay inside, all your arguments about your character only justified going in, which was deemed valid.
-
climbing over the table, dropping an inflatable wall and then leaving is faster and safer than running to the other side, dropping an inflatable wall and then fiddling with the air alarm to set vents to fill and waiting for your small wall to get filled with air. and you said by the time you entered the chief engineer has already sealed the breach, shouldn't you have seen the captain take off with the heroine? and even then, you could've escaped to the meeting room behind your inflatable wall, that wouldn't have breached the area. since you did have a valid reason to go in, but not a really good reason to stay inside. ill be lowering the ban to a 3 day ban, if you're in a depressurized area without gear or a proper reason to stay, you should make getting out your first priority. since you've already been banned for 2 days, it will only be a day left, if i can't manage to reduce the original ban ill just unban you right now. ill leave this open for a day, if anyone has anything left to say.
-
Do you mind? Yes, Grey. I didn't perform any mundane work while waiting for pressure. I didn't know about the circumstances on the bridge until after I found myself on it, and thought I was going to be one of the first on the scene. I couldn't anticipate the Captain teleporting on the bridge in a space suit, nor the Chief Engineer being on the bridge in as little time as well. What I focused on was getting there immediately, and once I crossed the Rubicon of climbing the table, felt pretty much stuck inside. I would say that, in hindsight, it was needless to rush onto the bridge. With more information I would have stood by outside or gotten a hardsuit from EVA. However, I got tunnel-visioned into the goal of getting onto the bridge, and didn't remain aware of the surroundings. But the rules don't state that characters can't make mistakes. you still haven't answered my question, did you just read the first half and ignored everything else? why did you stay inside?
-
we've already established trying to get your character dick wet a valid reason to enter, but that doesn't really explain why you decided to hang inside for so long. this is the screenshot UM was talking about, if you opened the shutter, got in, and saw the captain take the dawngaurd to safety, why didnt you just go back from where you came from? you had inflatables, you could've placed one, opened the firelock you came from and went back outside without venting the hallway, but in the end you did open the firelock to equalize pressure anyway. why did you decide to stay inside?
-
Ill have to give in my honest opinion because i do not want tuleech as HoS, or any head of staffs played by sonic till they start making proper characters because holy shizzle, i cant put it anyway nicer but all your characters are ANNOYING to say the least. And this isn't about that one time about acting captaincy, all your characters are immature and i think we have enough bad heads of staff as is, i dont want to deal with more awful heads. Being a good head of staff isn't about being robust at your job, it needs someone good at teamwork, leadership and having the capacity to listen to your underlings and deal with stupidity, and judging from your characters you would be the source of stupidity itself. -1 from me till i start seeing more trustworthy and mature characters from you.

[INACTIVE]Complaint on Nia Synder (Abendorth)
DatBerry replied to sonicgotnuked's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I was the one who gave you the ckeys, but correct if im wrong, wasnt most if not all of your complaining about ashley dawngaurd for stunbatoning you while you were typing? Now they aren't even mentioned in the report. Nor has the name been brought up in the thread. -
I actually dont have the logs nor can i pull them as a modlet, but ill ask an admin to do so. This incident started when the CE ahelped about foul RP, it was oreki played by UM, he said manfred ignored pain rp And rushed into a vented area, depressurizing hallways. I didnt understand a word at first, but later got a more clear story and decided to ask you for your reasoning, while you replied i went to also ask the CMO, who was the paramedic you talked about earlier. you said you wanted to help the paramedic as they didnt have EVA gear and that they should be bwoinked too, but it was the CMO, who was in EVA gear, the CMO confirmed more parts of the story, you had mentioned in PMs that you instantly went back to pressurized space, which is false according to both the CMO, the CE and your post right now, you yourself said you waited for the vents, both said there were no more injured people on the bridge, and so you did in the appeal, yet imstead of leaving the under pressurized area you vented the hallway to fill in your inflatable room to continue repairs without proper gear there weren't any lives at stake, you continued to fix the breach somehow on your own, receiving heavy damage in the process according to the CMO, who mentioned he tried to make you leave the area a few times actually. Then the AI the round played by tablespoon confirmed you vented the hallway multiple times, so did the CMO and the CE. You could've left as soon as you saw the captain take the injured officer to safety, but you didnt care about that, expressing the same kind of actions you did last year. Notes become less relevant after a while, true enough, but not when its the exact same thing. The fact that someone was actually on the bridge when you broke in at the time wasn't known to me, as all three witnesses didnt mention anything about it. But the main problem still stands, dont hang out in dangerous places without proper gear. Its 4:44am and i should be asleep so please dont mind any typos or whatever i may have made.
