i think another solution would be to simply remove sleep toxins from the hypospray, meaning borgs will have to vend a bottle and use the normal syringe, which already takes 3 seconds, while keeping helpful chemicals ready to be injected. though the other solution also works, aslong as it only applies to the surgery borg, which is the only one with sleep toxins, the emergency borg needs their instant injection somewhat.

BYOND Key: DatBerry Game ID: bOE-dGz0 Player Byond Key: Hunnewle Staff involved: none Reason for complaint: Bad station bound roleplay. at first i wasn't going to make a complaint but it turned out i wasn't the only one bothered by CUBIE's way of acting. the incident that had me posting here happened in the bar. I walk in to see Killor the ligger (played by paradoxspace) and CUBIE in the bar, killor has a barrel of ligger juice drink and he's asking for some drinking glasses from the borg, CUBIE. CUBIE refuses claiming it's a hazard, both me and the ligger argue with it, i tell it if they were so worried about hazards, the windows could break in and bring in carp, in which they pull the bar's firelock. thats when this happened all this is fine OOCly, although with this thought process they would lock down the bar even when a bartender is around, but the issue starts now. after finishing my time in the brig, i find kiilor, who tells me CUBIE has pulled out its surgical saw and whirred it a bit in front of him to threaten them(which they later did not deny) a cargo tech brings kiilor some drinking glasses, and the borg comes back again questioning us how we got the glasses, i tell CUBIE to eat shit, in which they tell the CMO i am acting like a hooligan and request permission to flash me, mind you if an officer flashed someone because they called them a name they'd be questioned, let alone a station bound property. after i am flashed, kiilor tries to throw them down disposals, in which they flash them and inject them with enough soporofic to put them out till the whole ordeal was dealt with by security. CUBIE seems to treat non-command crew as his equals if not below him, his mindset is just simply not fit for a servant robot and would fit more as an IPC, a bad IPC but atleast he wont be bad OOCly too. I don't know what kind of borg would threaten crewmembers and spin the narrative to get permission to flash them because their feelings were hurt. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? in this instance i didn't, thinking the round was malf, only for cubie to cryo and the gamemode turns out to be ninja or something. Approximate Date/Time: last thursday

[Denied] Finblob's Head of Staff Whitelist Application
DatBerry replied to finblob's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
well, my only complaint has already been addressed, Ted joined the shift as a geneticist, got somehow promoted by the RD to CMO and went in to do surgery. as you've already acknowledged it I'm not going to -1 over it, but i do think you should spend more time, being a head of staff here is more than just bossing around the department and a bad of head of staff can ruin the round for the entire department if not the whole station. -
An Actual List of What Is And Isn't Contraband

IT'S JUST RUBBER GLOVES REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE That's kind of a bad example because you can get insulated gloves otherwise, not to mention they are just rubber gloves. a good general idea is thinking of airport security. can you walk in with some gloves? probably. a knife in your boot? hell no. -
Character Complaint - Uwasv Guwan
DatBerry replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
All my issues with sid are IC and are with one character only, that said; I think you can put more effort in making his deguwanification more visible, especially to other unathi. if he's planning to go back to the unathi world, he can't keep ignoring conflict with the other liggers. Kiilor would serve as the best nemesis for sid, whom he kills at the end of season 3 and gains his honor back. as said before, i think you should make his struggles more visible, if an xeno is acting like just a hissing human, that makes people less likely to bother figuring out why and effectively, you end up just a hissing human. -
are you stuck with one sentence only? on rev i love playing the sweet talking liar who tells half his revs they'll scrap the synths and the other half that they're fighting for better social security. the part about end round is what made me think so, unless the conversion sentence is shown under each converted guy and not the converter, then this is good shit.

I wouldn't mind if you can't pass it on help intent, but it's just tape, holo at that too. it's not supposed to be more useful for anything than marking the area, engineers can bolt airlocks, security can sit and do their job watching the crime scene. passing through holotape placed for a good reason is lawfully trespassing and you can press charges.

Newmap - Open spaces should be made more distinct.

Realistically, no one is dumb enough to mistake the lift not being there for it actually being on level, because come on, the thing looks exactly like the left when someone dims down the light a bit. -
I see myself agreeing to both sides, on one hand, medical with one OR sucks, i experienced this first hand, the only extra RP i got was getting shoved in a side room alone till the OR was ready, at least patient wise, it was pretty shitty. on the other hand, the medical department shouldn't be expecting full on fire fights and as many causalities, not frequently anyway. maintaining a whole new OR room would be too expensive for the very very slim chance mass causalities happen, but on the other hand, doesn't mean it should be ignored. i suggest we add a spare surgery crate in medical round start shoved in storage, when shit hits the fan, you can setup a second, less effective OR with the crate and a rollerbed. now you may think this is an awful idea, but it reflects a better image of a stressed medical bay, being pushed to their limit. and roller beds aren't that bad, iirc 75% base chance of succession, compared to 90% for the surgery table, latex gloves add 10% chance to succeed and i believe so do the face masks, which means 85%+ success chance for each step. much more acceptable than a regular table's base 50%, not perfect but gets the job done.

instead of internals, a gas mask would last you forever without the need of an internals tank, provided phoron isn't 30% of the air.

why do you need to spawn with it? you can use your PDA + grab moves to check for broken bones. Security officers dont even start with their HUDs and can get flashed with their own flash.

-1 my interactions with delta's mice were always negative. where do i start from? the way he chews boxes that have no food inside and therefor no reason for him to chew them??? or how he uses a vent crawling macro to never be able to catch him? man this guy just sucks! and the worst part, they spam squeek in the pipes. they even use the scrubber pipes are mice, which are 0kPa and should kill them, but no; he ignores all that. he also ignores all the mousetraps i lay around cleverly, probably aghosts to check where they are before popping out of vents, S M H. -1 till he improves his mouse roleplay.

Give CMOs maint, external airlock access
DatBerry replied to ForgottenTraveller's topic in Completed Projects
the HoS and HoP both have access to fool around in space, yet they don't. i don't see why the CMO would suddenly start doing so if they're given such access. also, all heads of staff should be able to get a suit and get out of dodge of the station anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Nope Nope Nope. Research and Development is a whole other science field, if not more than one. Roboticists are barely scientists, if not for the Positronic knowledge some of them have they'd be more fitting in engineering than anything. boards can be acquired from cargo if RnD is not staffed, posibrains? though luck. you don't need, and should never be able to run your whole job to a 100% completion on your own in the science department, needing other people to finish your job is by design, so that you would have to interact with other people. all this will do is have roboticists sneaking into RnD when the scientists aren't around and avoiding contact, not to mention the mary sue powergaming aspect to it. so again, i oppose this.

Here we praise the doctors of our server for going above and BYOND the call of duty. Reporting Personnel: Robert Osterweiss Rank of Reporting Personnel: Assistant Game ID: bOm-djQy Personnel Involved: - Uwasv Guwan - Engineer (Offender) (Elohi Avocado) - Kiilor Rikozsi - Cargo technician (Victim) (Paradoxspace) - Dina Higarty - Captain (Witness) Time of Incident: Real time: 11:40AM, 8th of may Location of Incident: all over the station, and finally at departures Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury [x]Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty []Harassment [x]Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: the shift was filled with back and forth verbal fighting between the guwan and Rikozsi, nothing too serious, just the occasional unathi honor charged insults or whatever, but what really ticked me off was when we were waiting for the transfer shuttle, the guwan, filled up with rage or something, started bashing the mech rikozsi was handling for robotics, a brand new medical mech, which the guwan started to bash with a metal rod, he was stopped by an engineering cyborg, and rikozsi even left the mech, but the guwan came back to start vandalizing the mech until it was nonoperational and irreparable, clear act of vandalism in plain sight of the captain that shift, Dina Higarty. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: no, since the captain was right there Actions taken: (Description of efforts made by the reporter, security, HoDs, and/or Internal affairs to resolve this incident and what you know from others following the chain of command to find a solution to this issue.) [Accepted] Coolbizzle's Head of Staff Whitelist
DatBerry replied to coolbc2000's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
i knew this day was coming.. Mark Syion was was one of the most famous memes around the server, one could use him as a bad example or even an insult, i've had many ICly bad interactions with them, the more severe ones were as antag, nothing too bad OOCly. surprisingly on some rare occasions, captains trust him with an interim head of security positions, and even more surprisingly he doesn't do half bad. this is all before the re-work, i never thought the day i will +1 cool's head of staff whitelist would come, but here we are. the re-work may have been overdue, but the fact that it happened is what matters the most, accepting criticism and being ready to change are signs of a good person and that's enough for me to endorse this. P.S: i still dont want to see HoS mark syion, or godforbid captain syion, the aftertaste has ruined the character forever -
[Accepted] The Stryker's Head of Staff Application
DatBerry replied to The Stryker's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
lawed AIs going haywire isn't canon, otherwise it would've been a huge scandel and would've lead to all AIs being disabled until they know what went wrong with the law system. syndicate actions on the exodus isn't canon either. i also dont know why would NT give a station bound that malfunctioned a chasiss and then entrust them with a head of staff position. until the story is reworked i honestly have to -1 this because it makes no sense. -
[Declined] Unathi Whitelist
DatBerry replied to Ethan Malakay's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
from what I've seen on server, i think you need more experience, the character complaint against ethan is a good place to start, malakay is a bad meme and no lengthy interaction with him was pleasant. im ganna go with -1 for now, -
[Resolved]Character Complaint: Ethan Malakay

why is this not an IR? this looks like exactly why we have CCIA. the responsibility for their continuous behavior partially falls on you for not going through the proper channels. -
i've known some of these characters for quite a while, and i gotta say they're ok. if it's been the same as a few months ago, i don't think i would've known them enough to give feedback, but lately i've noticed superior trying to improve his characters, especially jake lawrenson, who now feels like an actual new officer (but for how long is he staying 18? is he immortal?) i believe the ability to change (to the better) is one of the most important traits someone can have and i can +1 without worrying about shitheads of staffs.
-
to me it varries, if its a nogunz, you can hand them a side arm, tell them to point and squeeze, if he is somewhat informed, can probably use a pump shotgun, the bigger the gun the harder it is to handle, the saber's magazine is top mounted, i dont think such a config is easy to deal with. usually i only care when i see people with no gun training using advanved weapons like AEGs lawgivers gat lasers and lawps
-
i don't know about examining, one of the points i use when security wants to arrest someone being caught by the AI is by saying that the cameras aren't very good (since they can't really examine), the AI uses the same cameras as security consoles and i don't think giving those examine abilities is a good idea.

Ballistics right now outperform lasers by a long shot and the difference between calibers makes no sense. i have two issues with ballistics, firstly: Shrapnel right now all shrapnel works the same way, dealing damage to your internal organs when you move, even if it was a 9mm parabellum. i suggest having two types of embedded bullets, fragmented shrapnel and bullets that embed as a whole. the first work will very much the same as it does now: Very lethal Does damage every time you move Awful to remove surgically now to bullets that don't embed, those are either bad RNG or pistol caliber bullets Not so Lethal Adds permanent 10-15 Haloss for each embedded bullet so easy to remove antags can do it themselves (scalpel/glass shard > hemostat/wirecutters) both will have high chances to deal damage to organs in the body they penetrate. what this will do is change the fact that one lucky ballistic round from a .45 or .38 can fuck over an antag, yet still be an issue that needs to be dealt with or otherwise you will limp and then succumb to pain (pain killers/surgery/self surgery can be used) secondly, Caliber Performance Right now our bullet performance is all over the place and makes no sense, for example, a 7.62 deals the same damage as a .45 while a .357 can turn your thigh into liquid gibbs. but this isn't the only issue, shoot someone with 2 rounds of .38, 9mm, hell even .45. all lethal. they will almost never drop, i suggest we give all rounds a supplementary special kind of haloss, similar to rubber bullets where if you are to shoot at an armored person, you will only deal the brute damage, but if you shoot an unarmored person, they will take both brute and haloss, say for example if .45 does 25 brute, but also have supplementary 25 haloss, an unarmored target shot twice will not only receive 50 brute, but also 50 haloss, knocking him down. the halloss will depend on RNG, you might end up downing someone in 2 hits, but if all your bullets miss vital areas (RnG fucks you over and deals no haloss) you will put them down the old way. this will give ballistics more stopping power, you may think "but ballistics are already OP, y u buffing them?" this will not effect fire fights between two armored personnel/groups, this will only apply to lethal bullets for obvious reasons, and if security pulls out lethal ammo on you and you're not putting on armor you're doing something wrong. (or they are) this will actually make people die less and here's why: Security will no longer need to shoot your ass to critical condition/death to stop you from moving(im looking at you, detectives), if you wish to keep going until the last drop, any kind of armor should do, such as engi voidsuits No more unarmored rambos who think they can survive a shot or two for a chance at disarming, you get shot, you drop. a more ideal method would be knockout from bloodloss/spinal cord/brain stem damage but our medical system isn't that advanced another thing mentioned earlier is caliber damage, i suggest we re-work some things. we would add a fragmentation chance, and a more robust penetration variable. (this list pretends we have more calibers) .22Lr: Damage 18, Haloss chance 40%, haloss 15. Penetration: crap, fragmentation: 30% 9mm: Damage 20, Haloss chance 70%, haloss 20. Penetration: crap fragmentation: 5% .38 Special: Damage 20, Haloss chance 70%, haloss 20. Penetration: slightly less crap, fragmentation: 10% .357 Magnum: Damage 40, Haloss chance 90%, haloss 50, Penetration: medium (no more liquefying thighs while still fucking people over) fragmentation: 30% .357 SiG: Damage 20, Haloss chance 40%, Haloss 20, Penetration: medium, fragmentation 0% .40 S&W: Damage 22, Haloss chance 50%, Haloss 50, penetration: crap, fragmentation 5% .45 ACP: Damage 25, Haloss chance 70%, Haloss 30, Penetration: crap fragmentation: 5% 5.56: Damage 25, Haloss chance 70%, Haloss 40, Penetration: good, fragmentation: 80% 7.62: Damage 35, Haloss chance 70%, Haloss 50, Penetration: ok, fragmentation: 40% .44 Magnum: Damage 50, Haloss chance 90%, haloss 40, Penetration: medium fragmentation: 40% .50 AE: Damage 65, Haloss 90%, Haloss, 70, Penetration: medium, fragmentation: 50% 12 gauge slugs: Damage 50, Haloss chance 90%, Haloss 50, Penetration: meh, fragmentation: 5% 12 gauge shells: i think these are fine as is. if we ever decide to add more calibers, some of these numbers i've just pulled out of thin air but this is a general idea of what i think calibers should scale to. another point is, low penetration = more effective armor, meaning you will have a hard time filling an officer wearing a heavy vest with an SMG if you aim at his upperbody, but so will the .45 be less effective against merc voidsuits. and on the note of ballistic changes, Improvised weapons (the handgun and shotgun) would have lower penetration, haloss and damage due to lacking a rifled barrel and lacking proper pressure handling. i have other plans in the future for ballistics but i think we should pass this bill through the congress first. TL;DR: 1. make shrapnel not as awful as it is now 2. make ballistics stronger against unarmored plebeians. extra: add more gun calibers
-
kind of missing the point, while not as important as the other 4 jobs mentioned earlier, security officers are the most likely to be dealing with dangerous situations, and thus a self defense weapon on them is more than justified. though i wouldn't mind if we add a section in bold in the regulations page to mention that the .45 is for self defense and not for normal enforcement, which it is and you should brig officers who needlessly use rubber.
