Mods can cancel and forbid further votes from being called. With our ticket system, an admin forcing a delay or a restart is not necessary, as the system does it automatically as long as there are no open tickets. In other words, a round is delayed even with no admins on, when there are open tickets. And restarted once all tickets are closed. Restart should be left as an option in case no staff is present and a ticket is kept open, or when a single staff is present and they lose their connection or whatever, so players can manually restart. It is not common at all, but it may happen. This is not a thing that happens often, so I think it is worth to keep the feature in case it is needed. Plus, whoever calls a restart vote during extension of the round is going to be banned, most probably.

FASCISMFORTHOSEWHOWANTIT complaint 2, electric boogaloo
Juani2400 replied to Trazz666's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Okay. First of all, sorry for the delay, again. I've reviewed the logs of that round, and to what I can gather, the AI did indeed not involve itself too much in antagonistic actions, nor did they interact with their cyborgs to do so. The AI, however, only got drafted into traitor around 25 minutes before the shuttle was called, so it is understandable that not major involvement was possible, as there was no time to do so, and little escalation was possible, I'd assume. This is no excuse to simply decide not to do antag stuff, which is why I'm going to look a bit more into that. I'd like to know Fascism's side before arriving to any conclusions about this case, so I'll be invoking them to this complaint so they can post their reasoning, if any. -

[ACCEPTED] Ban Appeal - ban made by tomiixstarslasher
Juani2400 replied to MoonTruther's topic in Unban Requests Archive
I will unban you. But you are on thin ice. If you were to get any new notes or warnings, you will be permabanned again, with restricted appeal conditions, or no possibility to appeal at all. Please be mindful of what you do. Locking. Archiving tomorrow. -
[ACCEPTED] Ban Appeal - ban made by tomiixstarslasher
Juani2400 replied to MoonTruther's topic in Unban Requests Archive
You've got serious incidents noted in your record. All of them happened just in the month of April, and in just a few days. I'm very hesistant to remove this ban, given your past. You'll need to give me some solid arguments as to why should I unban you. -
[ACCEPTED] Ban Appeal - ban made by tomiixstarslasher
Juani2400 replied to MoonTruther's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Given that the banning member of staff is currently unavailable, I will be taking care of this appeal. Your ban was issued barely a month ago. Has this been enough time for you to learn the ropes of HRP? Have you spent time reading and understanding our rules? (https://aurorastation.org/rules.html) -
Closing and archiving due to lack of response in time.

Hello. Who is carder52? Is it an alt accout of yours?

Okay. The ban will be lifted and the complaint closed. The ban on the actual server will be lifted in around 16 hours, when I get home from my uni.

Hello there. I'll start with a question: was there someone else treating the person when you were doing such? What caused the toxins damage? The logs say you apparently did not cause an overdose, as all the chemicals you administered are under their overdose threshold, but I am still curious as to what led to the toxins damage, if no external factors were involved, like spiders, other doctors or whatever it was that caused it. Was it suffocation damage that killed the patient? Or was it brute? Can you explain a bit what damages the person had when they were first scanned, and how they looked when you started transporting them to the Medbay -after stabilization-, from the top of your head? If all wounds were patched properly before dragging them (included checking for fractures in the chest, that can cause internal bleeding if dragged), and no overdose was caused by you, then you are not the cause of the death of the patient, and should not be held accountable for it. You have several past notes and warnings in regards to your cyborg play. These are mostly related to Security, not having any notes or warnings in regards on how you play your medical module. If this was indeed an accident due to poor handling of the situation, it is fine. We all make mistakes, and we all deserve a chance to learn from them. This is why, in case the death wasn't directly caused by you at all, and the person simply died of their already existing injuries, with no worsening of the condition while under your care, I am personally in favour of Zelmana lifting this ban completely, with the expectation that you avoid committing any of these errors in the future. You already have many warnings and notes due to how you play your cyborg, and it's the reason why you were banned by Zelm right off the bat; you will be still on a delicate situation if this ban is removed. A decision will taken once you have answered the questions presented above. [mention]ben10083[/mention]

Hello everyone. What I am going to write about has already been suggested before, with unknown results. However, I will try to make it a bit different, and allow for a more immersive and realistic enviroment to prosper in the station. So. What's the problem? So, as we are all aware, currently, it would seem that thanks to the wonders of bluespace, some magic information that our headsets transmits or Skrell-like minds that every crew member posseses, we are able to distiguish who is talking on the radio, even if we have not met them before. The behaviour of using this information to reply, or to modify your acts goes unpoliced most of the times, because it is not explicitly against the rules. This suggestion, however, will not be about how to fix an issue with the rules with mechanics, but using this issue to expand an idea onto, and create a more immersive experience when playing the 2D spessmen game. I'm interested. What do you suggest? We could just remove the names from the radio, but I will go a step further. When you are working with a radio, you don't have two frequencies set at the same time because, for one, radios only work with a single channel, and you require duplicated systems to make it work with other frequencies simultaneously (these exist, but not on most portable units, which can listen/transmit into a single frequency at the time); but we are four hundred years into the future, so I will not use that as an argument. We could mostly agree that the common radio has not much utility, other than being a way to call for help or assistance, and annoy people. What I suggest is, we remove the common frequency from the headsets, and leave it as a thing only for intercoms and station-bounced, for those who wish to carry one with them and listen to it. You only have your departmental frequencies in your headset now. But what if you need help? Or need to call a janitor? How will you make sure they listen to your request, if they are probably not near an intercom or wearing a radio? This is where we start expanding the idea. We add the ability to make calls to headsets. With this, you'll be able to contact everyone on the station, directly, through an interface in your headset. You'll make a call, and they can answer it, or not. The headsets would also include the ability to turn calls off. This would add to the already immense ways to communicate already present on the station, like PDAs, holopads and request consoles. But. What about calling for help, or calling an entire department? This is where yet another part of the suggestion comes in. We will add a dispatcher, or call center operator. This center, which you contact through a button in your headset and employs a single person, would have access to all the departmental radios -except Command- in the station through an intercom, or a piece of equipment yet to specify, and act as a middle-man between the caller and the required services or departments. This person would have their little room, with their camera monitoring consoles, and console programmes designed to allow them to organize the calls as required. But. What happens when there is no one to handle the calls? The calls get then redirected to the AI, instead, which will handle the calls as required. If there's no AI, then there's no one to respond to the calls, and you must use an alternative mean of communication. About the restrictions of the role, as it would be a job that requires certain degree of responsibility, I suggest -so we have no shortage of players- that we put it under a timed blacklist (similar to what Security has, but maybe longer times), or we require certain number of played rounds in order to access the role. Alternatively, if the community is willing, it can be put under the Command whitelist. To top off the suggestion, and to cover the topic with which we started this thread, we no longer show the names of the people in the radio messages. Instead, everything that will appear in front of the message will be similar to [(gender) (species) voice]. Additionally, for those of the same species, and to be defined by the species lore masters, the characters will be able to detect the accent of their same species' individuals, which will be added to the voice description. Say Jane is a Mars human. All other humans will know that she is from Mars, because of her accent. The accent will be chosen from a list, similar to the nationality. Wait. I'm confused. Too much information! Tl;dr We remove Common frequency from the headsets. It will only be present through intercoms and station-bound radios. We add the ability to make calls through headsets, to individual persons, or the call center. We add a call center, and an operator role to handle the calls, with the console programs required to properly organize the calls. We remove the names of the people from the radio logs, and instead add [(gender) (species) (accent) voice] in place of the name. I expect anything from insults, to praises, to an ethernal wait until it is done or even dibsed by a coder. So feel free to post what you think of it down below! Thanks for reading! EDIT: I forgot an important part of the call center thing. It's now highlighted in blue.

Revert the Mapping Changes to Medical and the Brig
Juani2400 replied to Bath Salts Addict's topic in Archive
I have received mostly positive reviews about the design of the Medbay, as it makes more sense design-wise than having a linear design, similar to what we had earlier. This design is based on properly distributing the patients, and it is not laberynthic if you play it for more than 10 minutes. The design is made to boost RP between doctors and patients, have different rooms for different types of injuries and to leave non-essential to the Medical aspect rooms, like Chemistry or Cloning, out of the way. Chemistry has new means to get their meds across, to help with the new location. The CSI's office and lab is as big as it used to be, and not small at all. I believe it is of sufficient size to accomodate a single technician working there. If anything, their working equipment has been improved. The surgery windows have been controversial since the first moment they were impletemented. To be said, the windows were not present in the initial version of the remap. The windows are tintable, and all surgeons should be tinting them when a patient is coming into the OR. The alternative is having a straight, non-equipped wall all accross the hallway and the ORs, which can be done. Worth saying, that regulars of both departments have been made aware of the changes since early on. Specially Medical regulars, through the Medical discord, as the Medical department was the one receving the major remap. The security change was made after several requests, from several people, told me that they wanted a common area that both the Detective and the CSI shared. This could not be done without messing everything up completely, and so, the new area was designed to accomodate both offices. I see little issue with the new Detective's location, as in the case someone comes to their office, they can be granted access by the detective himself. It's only two doors, besides the office's. -
Swapping the Medical office with the psychiatrist office will remove the purpose of it being next to the entrance. Fowl is already working on a remap, thanks to the new mechanics that he plans on introducing on the April's update, so the office will change. On the note that the CMO's office is too large, not true, as the other heads' offices are up to par, with similar sizes: CMO's office: 40 tiles (5x8) HoP's office: 56 tiles (7x4)*2 CE's office: 35 tiles (5x7) RD's office: 48 tiles (6x8) HoS's office: 35 tiles (5x7)
-
Most of these have been implemented and will be up together with the map update soon to come.

Not happening. I don't think I need to explain too much the reasoning behind this. You do not seem to have improved, and the changes of this recurring are pretty high. Apply for an unban once you are willing to behave properly and put actual effort into your unban to justify your actions. Denied.

[Denied]A'lyx Lemire Tajran Application
Juani2400 replied to tudeslildude's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
It surely seems like you are lying when you say that you have read the lore page of the species, because I see zero evidence of that in this application. You say your application is a "bit" snowflakey, but the truth is that your character is just a pile of snow, not fitting the current lore in the slightest, but specially the colouring. We have strict rules of how Tajara can be coloured, depending entirely on their race. The race you mention here is non-existant in our lore. Our lore is not flexible. I urge to take a look at the wiki pages of the Tajaran, and fix this application, as I am pretty sure the lore overseer of the species will not be happy when he sees the application, and will possibly deny it quite quickly. Also, as outlined already by Jackpot, please fix the formatting. Thank you. -
Besides those you linked here, I've also seen the drawing of your HoP char in the drawing section. They are pretty good. I fully support your application.

From what I've seen, it's not rare to see you back-seat moderating and writing comments to people around in LOOC about things they are doing ICly for one or another reason. And I've seen it happening in LOOC with quite some other people, as others confirm here. Your attitude does not seem becoming of an aspiring moderator. You are, however, a good RPer from what I have seen, and I'm sure you'd be able to enforce the RP standards properly. But what worries me is the first part. You will need to work in this, if you want to earn my positive vote. Until then, it will be negative.

We can solve it with a sign, placed at the entrances of the Medical Bay. This will keep most people in the lobby and doctors will have a thing to point at when the rooms feel too crowded, giving them the authority to kick people out without the need of Command itself. As a regular CMO, this happens a lot, and you gotta be fighting people constantly to keep them out of the bay, it's true. Even if you are Command. Most people will just come up with the "You can't issue orders to me", which is false, by the way. But they'll take your time, energy and just move after you have spent quite some time arguing with them.

Bugs go in the Github, following the procedure stablished there for bug reports. Will be added in the next map update.

Hello everyone! This thread is meant to encompass all of those minor suggestions in regards to mapping that would not fit anywhere else, and that do not require a full thread to be opened. Proper uses of this thread would be: suggesting the addition of a photocopier, reporting missing equipment somewhere that is not critical (otherwise it should be a bug report), minor area redesigns... The ideal way to go ahead with this is by describing the location, what you need/want added or changed, and including a picture of the location for reference. Additional pictures showing the final result are also encouraged if you can map and the change is significantly enough that it needs to be explained visually. Mapping suggestions are no longer maintained by me. You can check by whom is the team of mappers composed of in the staff list that is accessible via forums or Discord. Please contact them for any incident that may be related to mapping or to this thread. Bugs reports go in the GitHub, as usual.

[Accepted] LordFowl - Mapper/Coder Application
Juani2400 replied to LordFowl's topic in Developer Applications Archives
What can I say. One of the main artificers of the new map, and former Lead Mapper. Decent coder and one of the best meme-producing machines we've ever had. I can only support this re-app. +1.
