Reason for complaint: Reaction out of proportion from Prate, when I didn't do anything wrong. I will explain everything in the logs.

Evidence/logs/etc:

So, I joined a round where transfer shuttle already left, I walk inside the Research Department and I find an officer in there, and the RD in the room beside. The officer wanted to get through, so I opened the door, and he batoned the ass of the RD without saying a word. When I saw this, I pushed him once, since he was batoning my boss, with no other officers around, without saying anything, without trying to cuff him prior to the batoning. There was nothing but batoning from the officer. So I pushed him once, disarming him and grabbing the baton. I could have done many things once I had the baton with me, but, applying logic, the best thing was walking back a bit, and trying to speak with the officer, to de-escalate the situation. Did he say anything? No, he didn't. He shot me multiple times without saying a word while I tried to write 'Stop' while avoiding getting shots. At that moment I ahelped. He shot me THE FULL magazine. Then he said DROP IT, MOTHERFUCKER. And shot me more with the tazer while I didn't have time to reply.

 

I ahelped about it and I was told those were rubbers, he wasn't killing me, and it was okay since I stopped an arrest. Imo the fact that no words were said by the officer shows a lot about him, only going pew pew. once I was downed after a full rubber magazine (not even the tazer, which his non-lethal, he shot me rubbers which have another name, can't remember). And then he banged me against a window, making me bleed. 

Prate said I didn't roleplay the pain I was suffering, then explain this

My character was kneeled next to the Director who was unresponsive

And the psycho officer batoned me again, when I was bleeding, and giving my back to him

@Aboshedab was the one handling my ahelp, and this is what he said about the situation

Which was acceptable since I did that (without knowing it), Abos deemed it okay so I accepted it.

My character was stumbling, trying to help the Director, to protect him, but without being hostile in an active way, since she was in a lot of pain, but the officer had killed someone already. All the purpose for my character was trying to keep them both alive, since, as I said, the officer already killed someone and was acting like a psycopath.

By the way, Abos deemed both his actions and mine acceptable.

Then the officer healed me, and also the medibot  and later in medbay I tried to escape cuffs.

 

And, the outcome of all of this is that the next round, Prate bwoinked me and applied a permaban after speaking a bit with me and taking a long time to gather info

 

So

*I intervened in an arrest to stop a batoning with in my character eyes was brutality, since the officer didn't even try a peaceful approach or say a word, by taking the baton away, not even hitting the officer or anything

*The officer shot me like a psycopath after having killed someone

*I roleplay the pain quite more than people usually do

*I try to protect the Director from being killed

*I am permabanned

What am I missing? 

Additional remarks: Abo deemed actions acceptable that round, and I don't know why, out of nowhere Prate bwoinked me and applied the permaban.

Inaccurate. I cleared the actions of the Officer. There was intention to handle your actions but I had to leave, handing it over to Prat, which he got the following round.

I wasn't even using a security character and the permaban was applied cause I had a permaban lifted not long ago

Yes, in regards to your ahelp, the issue being the conduct of the officer. Your ahelp outlined an issue which I declared not to be an issue, as the action of the officer was a response to how you acted. You're arguing semantics when I'm telling you what was meant. Even if I intended to clear everything as fine, Prat can still overrule my decision by virtue of them being the admin and myself being the trial.

This should be all the logs on the situation, I found some in your images to be lacking, such as the line where you tried to get out of your restraints.

Hello, I was the officer. A lot of the info in your OP is either misinformation or blatantly untrue. If you are not certain of the validity of something, you should not state it as fact. I will cover them here:

I did fire the entire magazine of seven .45 rubber rounds AT you, only one or two rounds hit you. And you continued to run away with my equipment, so logically I was going to continue trying to stop you. That's when I told you to "drop it" (I did not say "drop it, motherfucker") and aimed my taser at you. You kept moving, or trying to speak, or messed with your inventory or something, causing the trigger reflex.

You did not drop to the floor until after I tased you - obviously the one or two rubber rounds were not enough.

Your screenshots are extremely cherrypicked, the logs Abo posted are much more accurate. I won't go into my own opinions on that but I will say that you failed to show the part where you tried to resist both out of my grip and my cuffs after having ran away from me and directly intervening the detention of a terrorist, of which had just murdered at least one officer (could have been a detective, I can't remember, it is a person regardless), and so I smashed you against the window. Is that excessive from an IC standpoint? Yeah, Gordon would have been arrested for that if it was standard operation. It was not, though. It was a tense and stressful situation from his perspective, especially considering one of his colleagues was likely dead on the lower level.

I did not kill Emillio, that was actually only the second time in total Gordon had ever encountered them that entire round. I have no idea why they were so wounded. The RD was wounded either because they bombed themselves or because Jesse Armstrong fought them in xenobio/toxins on the lower level, possibly both.

You failed to show where you were basically in some kind of weird trance-like state trying to defend the RD for... I actually have no idea. You said you were protecting them because they were your boss, but I can tell you right now I would not take bullets for my Cell Lead at the injection molding plant I work at in real life. That's not really relevant, but serves as a nice segue into my closing point.

 

Having taken all of this into account, this is the part where you walked in:

How could you have possibly made an informed decision at this point? And might I add, there is absolutely no logic in disarming a security officer for any reason at any point in time, especially considering you had just arrived. You say it was logical to take the baton and run away without "escalating," but you already escalated when you showed up out of nowhere and assisted a terrorist. And if you had known they were a terrorist, you would have stayed back and did nothing and watched as Gordon detained the two dying individuals and escorted them to safety, which is exactly what he intended to do. I say it was not logical to do anything. You should have stayed back and watched. You arrived and made a harebrained decision based off of some kind of flawed judgement, I really don't know. I just can't wrap my head around why you think it would be appropriate to disarm a security officer mid-arrest and expect them to just stop and have a conversation with you on why you decided to forcefully take their equipment from them.

 

And then, despite all of that, you continued your fervent defense of the RD, body blocking Gordon from trying to get his job done, trying to resist out of your cuffs multiple times, generally just acting strangely in regards to the RD, and because of your distraction, Emillio died and the RD nearly died. Despite an obvious show of force and direction, you did not follow instructions. Just like Abo said, not every situation is resolved with words, and you surrendered your ability to talk that situation out when you went hands-on with an officer performing an arrest. And if your defense to that is, "well I didn't know Gordon was making an arrest, I didn't know the RD was so dangerous, I didn't know Jesse Armstrong was undoubtedly dead or dying," all you are doing is making your own argument worse because that proves you went into the situation uninformed and making rash decisions.

 

Considering your history of permanent bans, job bans, warnings, and general notes (not even counting the ones from last year or the year before, most of your really bad notes are recent) I believe Prate was 100% justified in applying a permanent ban. This is a serious lapse of judgement, and it is apparently commonplace for you. It is my opinion that no wrongdoing has occurred except for your own. The original ahelp could probably have been handled better, but the staff team is not perfect either and that was a very busy round ending.

1- You shot like a psycopath at me and said ''drop it'' after I was already shot multiple times. You are the one trying to explain things in a false way, since you started aiming at me when I was already running, after having shot me MULTIPLE TIMES with rubbers (which aren't non-lethals, but less-than-lethals) before starting to aim.

3- The screenshots show nearly everything, and I explained that I resisted in medbay. There is ONE, ONLY ONE RESIST INTENT TO GET OUT OF THE CUFFS which I missed since I didn't see it. And when you press your arrow keys when grabbed, it auto-resists.

4- You are writing a LOT OF OOC INFORMATION I LACKED. And since in game, canonly, a RD would never be a terrorist, you are suggesting me to metagame.

7- I opened the door for you, remember that. Cause I had no information, so I helped you. The moment you start batoning his ass without trying to cuff him or trying to speak, you are giving out a LOT of information buddy.

8- Totally false, I only resisted once in the very beginning (mistake since I thought you were grabbing me, not cuffed), and never again until medbay, as the logs show. They died because you acted like a psycopath. And I acted like you act when you see a psycopath, you try to defend yourself.

You also just said exactly what I told you would make your argument worse for yourself. All of that OOC information could have been gained IC if you had stood back and watched for even just thirty seconds. And you keep getting hung up on this "without a word" argument despite that not being the case. You were not present for the words, which is also bad for your argument.

I am not going to have a pissing match here on these posts, either. I have made my peace, and it is that you remain permanently banned from Aurora due to poor judgement, a history of validhunting, a history of powergaming, and a long history of poor decisions in general, of which this is just another.

This is the first time I have ever, EVER, disrespected someone OOCly like this. Not just staff, anyone. This here is essentially the main issue I had with the entire ordeal. As prior issues were that you do things without fully thinking it through, rushing into situations with zero intel, most likely getting yourself trashed in the process, and most of the times, you defy your pain either to fulfill a vendetta or in this case, to protect this person you had no heavy ties to.

The basis of your argument was that antags arent canon, hence noone is evil, yet you assumed the officer was evil, and the RD was not, even when it was the other way around this time. So you set out to stop this "unlawful assault" in an attempt to defuse the situation, which only made it worse.

As I told you over DMs and ahelps, you need to take a more passive stance and observe before passing judgement and interacting. Even to ahelp if you were uncertain if something was valid or not. You dont always have to play the hero and jump in face first on something you perceive as bad, as its very likely you bite you in the ass and be wrong altogether.

Actually I assumed that the officer was NOT evil, hence the reason I opened the door for him to get to the RD. I assumed the officer had something to do with the RD and I made it easy for him. 

At that point all the information I had is that the officer was trying to get to the RD and the RD was behind a door.

 

Then, once the door was opened, the officer started batoning the RD like a madman, without any words or prior action. At this point I already have information: The officer who I just helped is batoning my boss, a valuable head of staff, without having said any word or having tried to cuff him peacefully or anything.

 

So, now I had information. This officer is acting like a madman, and I just helped him, I feel bad about it.

 

I push him (which is not even considered assault), and take his baton away to stop the beating. Once the baton was in my hand, I moved back in order to show that I didn't want to hurt him.

What was the thing I expected to happen (OOCly)? He would have aimed at me and I would have asked him to calm down and dropped the baton.

What happened? He reacted like a psycopath shooting less-than-lethals on me.

Who could have expected that an officer shoots a full magazine of rubbers at someone who is clearly disengaging, right?

It is understandable that you are upset, I would be too, Aurora is very important to me and I would do anything to stop myself from being booted out, same as you are now, but. Now, the deal is; you have a lot of notes and warnings, and you taking in consideration your behavior here and the security appeal, I do believe you did not really learn anything that staff tried to explain you in all those chances that you were given.

 

So, at this moment, I am leaning towards accepting prate's rulling here as valid.

Indeed I guess that what Cake did is acceptable although aiming at me or saying something prior to shooting like a psycho would have been very appreciated (and would have stopped the interaction from escalating)

 

I have lot of notes and warnings and I've spoken to a trial mod here in a bad way, which are bad things, and I already got warned from them.

 

But you are not saying anything about the staff complaint itself or about why is it so unbelievable to stop an officer that acts like a madman from batoning your respectable boss. Again, my interaction in the arrest wasn't openly hostile or with an escalation purpose but the opposite. I tried to de-escalate. I would like to know what rule I broke.

This was believable conflict since I was trying to stop what in the eyes of my character was police brutality, without actually harming the officer who had a lot of means to finish the arrest. His actions are okay too since he overreacted but that's legit (considered in the rules, the situation was okay for overreacting), although I would say he powergamed (played to win), but that's not what I'm discussing, I want to know what rule I broke.
