Remove two-thirds majority for transfers below 3 hour mark

Before 3 hours they require 2/3rds. I suggest to make it a simple majority (51% or more)

Why? Well, why should a minority of players get to decide where the round goes? Keep in mind, each continue vote is worth double what it is.

Often times, I see rounds be dragged on for 30 more minutes (at minimum) because some clown antagonist decided to go loud at 1:50, and a minority of players (generally those very new to the server) thought it'd be a good idea to extend it way more than it should.

Let's face it, the twenty minutes we get while the transfer begins are more than enough to wrap up any remaining issues, and if an antagonist decides to begin their gimmick when there are ten, twenty minutes remaining for a vote to be called, it's literally their problem. They've had more than one hour to do something.

If for some reason the round should be extended for another thirty minutes, which can and does happen rarely, the majority of players would agree, no? So, there's a case for making it a majority vote under the scenarios I've described here. I'd like to hear other perspectives.

Except that ghosts or players in the lobby also vote. The "majority of players" could be sitting in the lobby, and ending the round for people actually in the game. The 2/3rds rule I have always imagined is supposed to compensate for that.

I don't think there's any need. Ending a round should require a vast majority of people to want it for it to happen. If you can't or don't want to play anymore, just enter cryo. Moreover the rounds already become transfers on 50% at the 3 hour mark.

There are players who will also vote in favor of the transfer with no intention of playing the next round.

On the antagonist note, sometimes shit doesn’t go as planned or takes a long time to setup while remaining within Aurora’s RP guidelines. Two hours is not the huge piece of time most people say it is.

anyways, 2/3rds is preferable.

I'm quite content with the current 2/3 system, including the (lack of) vote weighting. It's not uncommon during early and late hours that when a round ends, the next may have less or even no players because people don't quite wish to start over and commit another several hours. Personally, I would even prefer a longer minimum round length.

I completely agree with Carver.
I feel like a lot of comfy RP nights are ruined by someone calling round at 2 hrs. It will often be 11pm EST and pop will be like 35 in crew but then within 15 minutes go to about 10 pop (or less) because people don't want to stay another 2 hours which by then is past midnight.

I wish there was some way to unironically extend minimum round time- but also I appreciate 2 hour roundtime when there are hectic rounds and pop is healthy midday. 2hr vote time has its pros and cons but maybe moreso Cons as our population has stagnated.

Voted extended being actually extended could be fun, but I doubt that'd be popular since technically extended gets voted for when nobody is on.

Voting for dismissal for that reason.

Concurring with Arrow for stated reasons. While our voting system is not perfect it should take more than just 51% of players to end the round.
