Diona are the nicest species in the game. I've never been killed by a diona.

IPCs are usually nice too, with a few exceptions. 90% chance of not being killed

Humans are fairly friendly, 60% ish

Tajarans are a mixed bag, but usually negative, like 30-40% of them are friendly

Vaurca and unathi are just the enemies of mice, i can reliably assume every one of those species will try to eat or gib me.

Generally a diona is a safe hiding place. And when i play mice, i RP not knowing that the diona is sentient. I assume they're just plants, or trees, and use them as cover appropriately. They rather seem to like having small animals crawling around in them, its very fitting

While I can understand both sides.

Mice and rats are incontinent (aka they piss constantly on everything and everywhere they go and cannot biologically stop) As such in sterile or clean environments, such as the kitchen, medical or science.

They are a pest and a danger to the health of the crew, accuracy of tests and the safety of your food. And should be treated as completely valid in these areas. Not shooing out, killing, mousetrapping, or sicking Runtime on them is a violation of common sense. So if you are a player controlled mouse. Stay the hell away from these areas unless you want to die.

Yes. I've also dropped them off three story buildings for biting me in my own attempt to save them from a cat that brought them into the house to "make friends with".

Tbf, it is kind of breaking character, the killing of mice via stomping, in some cases. Obviously depends on your char.

But I do not care, because the presence of mice is exaggerated by mechanics. As such, the character's reaction to them can be exaggerated as well.

I wouldn't kill a mice, but I also wouldn't expect a mouse to walk up to me and nuzzle me, or point at me, use emotes, squeek in a way that's audiable or do any of the things hug-box mice like to do.

If I was a mouse, I'd be staying as far away from anything that isn't a mouse, trying to have sex with other mice and trying to generally find food and stay alive.
