  1. Research is almost always both snobby, and annoying pieces of trash that people typically don't want to go out of their way to give resources to. I haven't played in forever - but I doubt this has changed much. Perhaps if science was polite and nice to miners instead of the typical UNGA BUNGA GIB DIAMOND!!! BAD MINER!!!! Then you'd actually get something given to you. Also: have you considered walking the 30 feet to ask the person at the cargo desk? Back on topic. The entirety of mining on the same asteroid kinda fucks any sense of believability for this - which would be my only possible argument against it. I still hold the viewpoint that mining makes no sense on the same location that the station is using as a foundation or whatever, but I understand why that is the case right now. Otherwise, it seems like a fun Idea to make mining more than mindless rock shooting while people screech at you because they can't walk the literal 30 tiles to cargo.
  2. Because it makes more sense than "unga bunga magicly remov blod". "I have to copy paste a lot!!" Doesn't work either, as you could just make the check a proc. or even make it based off the selection doll if you wanted to be lazier, effectively reducing it to like 4 lines of code.
  3. It's like 8 lines of code to get a hand that is there. Including checking for stumps/mechanical hands.
  4. if you want red marks on someone's head, like the feature suggests. you can simply rp via the "me" command, and then beat the shit out of the guy's head with a toolbox.
  5. presumably a PKA that goes pew pew laser instead of kchunk boom of the PKA.
  6. if these are added they really should be things like wire-hacking rather than shoehorning it into a detomatrix.
  7. I've ceased active development for aurora ages ago. you lads are just getting whatever I make that'd fit in from 13th Crusade.
  8. Yeah - that wasn't the point I was making. Kaed was implying they weren't even made out of metal, which is just flat out misleading.
  9. As an addition, their metallic/mechanical nature is reflected in the descriptions of them.
  10. /mob/living/simple_animal/construct/examine(mob/user) ..(user) var/msg = "<span cass='info'>*---------*\nThis is \icon[src] \a <EM>[src]</EM>!\n" if (src.health < src.maxHealth) msg += "<span class='warning'>" if (src.health >= src.maxHealth/2) msg += "It looks slightly dented.\n" else msg += "<B>It looks severely dented!</B>\n" msg += "</span>" msg += "*---------*</span>" It's rather blatent that they're made of metal, Kaed.
  11. Implying that a god of blood who makes non-organic mystical constructs can't control a bucket of bolts is a shitty meme, but regardless. The issue of spawning IPCs as cult can be fixed by making it so IPCs simply can't be roundstart cultists, it's a really easy fix.
  12. Getting mad because your substanceless PR was closed is no reason to shitpost on a suggestion. The pickaxes are about as generic as they come, and have no hint of a refrence. they're illogical for mining to have as their only equipment by all senses of the word, which is what this suggestion is for. Your PR didn't make keys more realistic at all, just removed a reference that jungled your jimmies. This suggestion converts Mining to use drills, instead of an illogical pickaxe. And burgy boye, for future refrence, you don't need to make a suggestion fourm to make a PR. it's often swamped with no actual feedback.
  13. Concept seems good. Some feedback: One of the white medkits should be swapped out for an Oxy one. if you do this please make the oxy-lockers actual lockers and not piles of snowflake code trash - which would pretty well just be colouring in the sprite to make an "open" state. this would solve the lack of softsuits issue. A windoor in the sec area to keep the prisoners in their own sub-area might be a good idea, and would make it seem a bit smoother. Potted plants could be replaced with something less trash like vending machines or something. I'd personally have both the folding-beds put up in a rack to conserve space. could have a table on the opposite side. Pretty sure you can't change any of the light-tubes that're behind windows, but this may be wrong. I don't even play lol. The entire thing could probably be scrunched down a tile from the top. that two wide area seems a bit too empty but idk how that compares to our current shittle
  14. The cult isn't directly trying to give nar nar souls, they're trying to summon Nar'sie. And I wouldn't put it past an elder god to be able to corrupt a tin can to do his bidding. This could in fact be represented by a "corrupted" screen sprite.
  15. yeah the alchemy meme stone chemical is in fact a meme, and shouldn't be a secret chem. I can see it being something for wizards - but making it craft-able on station is a bit "eh"
  16. Them being directly named after magical shit is a meme, and should be addressed. but the chemicals themselves are mostly fine. Eg, take a queue from tg who ironically has a more serious medical system, and rename shit like "liquid fire" which implies something fantasy, to something like "Chlorine Trifluoride", or "Phlogiston". I still think that the secret chems as is aren't worth spending time to figure out, and should be a lot more like goon's. but that's probably out of the scope of this discussion.
  17. Because the whole point of it is to be a secret. that's why they're called secret chems. "it-it's metaknowledge" It's really not, considering you discovered how to make it in game. None of the secret chems are particularly useful, or powerful without plenty of setup, either. so that is hardly an issue.
  18. which still would make literally 0 sense without surgery to install it but whatever scifi is the answer for everything lol
  19. cochlear implants require surgery and the HUDpatches are a shitty bay meme.
  20. how the heck would an earpiece help a deaf person hear. you mean like a hearing aid? those don't work if they're 100% deaf.
  21. Our code is more compatible with tg code than baycode at this point dude.
  22. That's a rather brash thing to assume, considering the github is one of two good things about Aurora. Regardless: There's balance in everything when done right, so your first point is moot. and I've suggested ways of balancing it.... On the github. Such as the chemical's effects only being maintained after long term overdose, which burger is working on in the PR. it's not going to be "ooga booga one needle." So that point will be moot soonish. You're right, that's why it'll require long term usage, likely far more than 15 u from a single needle. Nope. we just got them from the bay base, who got them from the tg base. they're just used like that today. That's the plan, yeah. there's already a shitload of "edgy mind control mechanics" in game - including loyalty implants. and these are significantly less oppressive than Vampire's meme win button. Your image doesn't work for me, but it's safe to assume that you took a screenshot of me thumbs-downing it as a full indication of my opinion. Yes, I dislike the PR. good one. Which I don't do without reading the PR. it's been thumbsdowned for more reasons than just "Xdd they disagree with bURGAeR!" * It completely changes the theme of the chemicals. which I dislike. Making it just things like increased aggression, instead of aggression towards authority. I agree that aggression towards Nanotrasen specifically is a bit much, * It changes some of the chemicals to the old fluff chemical tier that add nothing good tot he game. *It changes the taste to milk for whatever reason. so I still feel Burger's would be better once it's tweaked. Kaed's implementation still has that, but whatever. He isn't. you'll need a shitload of drugs, which will in general be a bit more of a pain in the ass than a spank and bank surgery that takes less than 2 minutes to do. or 12 seconds if you have a loyalty implant.
  23. who are all considered high priority targets and typically should have some means of defending themselves?
  24. Alrighty boyes lets just shove this little lie down the toilet here. There wasn't any fucking feedback. ON THE FIRST PAGE: First comment likes it, provides a reason why. Second is "Delet this i don't like it harm antagonis and loyalty despit that bein point?!" Third is just useless bandwagoning from you without any substance. Big Ol' Burgey Boye saying it'd be fine if it was balanced. Delta throwing useless shit from another PR to say their """feedback""" of "delet this" was good and that everything burger does is bad. Actual (not too in depth) feedback. Jackboot failing to use imagination in 2d spess where he's a lore nerd Burger trying to explain this further because apparently nobody can read PRs Jacboot double-downing on his no imagination. Notice how there was one actual bit of feedback here, and how it was not even a sentence? whew there's a lot to go off of there. "delet this REEEEEEEEE" isn't feedback. folks. explain why you're reeing and perhaps someone will actually listen to it.
