  1. If lore provides a massive list of possible variables to shove in this, it probably wouldn't be hard to do. Might me a good chance to make a standardized template too cough cough hint hint.
  2. You're acting like I don't know that. regardless of the logistics behind the mechanic. it'd probably be shit is what I'm saying.
  3. I don't think it needs to be implimented at all, really. Any mechanic that does it would probably be less "muh ehmershum", while also being more of a pain in the ass. Or would be irrelevant after a few rounds.
  4. The channel in it's entirety is metagaming though, which is a whole other issue.
  5. Only problem I can see with this is that you can only flip tables that're 1 wide. though I've been looking for a way to implement this sanely. I'll be sure to make a PR once I get it working if it's a wanted feature.
  6. Organizing gimmicks is the supposed purpose of AOOC, and organizing said gimmicks via OOC means is inherently metagaming, along with the fact that it brings up this unhealthy "play to the gimmick" mindset, because they never actually figure out what their character's goals are. just "we are gimmick x!" - which sucks. as the gimmicks are (Unga bung he don't play) When I played. uninspired and the same stuff. "WiZaRd HuNt CuLt?!" - that's being a protagonist. not an antagonist. So metagame. Regardless, it IS the fault of AOOC. as without it, and perhaps with a set list of optional objectives you can pick from. it'd encourage gimmicks as a mean to an end. instead of THE end. which in my opinion is much healthier, as hey. it gives people an actual drive. and more depth. instead of "let's be sec as mercs lol" "oh shit what do we do now" You shouldn't be considering immersion to ever be a highest priority. it's 2d Spessmens. "You're in one of many antagonist types!!!" Yes. metagaming is possible. You should be doing it in character. not out of it. that's ICKY LOOC. there's literally no reason why you can't plan something out IC. if you can't, then you shouldn't be doing it in the first place. Forcing otherwise is breaking character. 2-3 hours is a fucking huge amount of time. and planning stuff out is a huge advantage in terms of how you want things to plan out. so yes. spend time to plan it out, so people can counterplay. Jesus christ just do it ICly. use the provided mediums of communication asides from the meta-chat. This is arguably a bad thing.
  7. Which you can already see, and hear. if you're paying attention. "Oh they just had a sword and put it away somewhere" "It's not on their body and a sword wouldn't fit in a belt" Thus, backpack.
  8. Look. I get "unga bunga he doesn't even play" but considering how often people manage their shit in this game, it's going to be a LOT of message spam for no real gain. Along with the fact that hey, learn to search right. you should be checking pockets, and you don't need a magic message to replace your common sense.
  9. I can make it do the "lockon" stuff with the overlay and noise and big ass chat and everything, it would increase immersion to get blown the fuck up by security for pointing fingerguns at them
  10. how would overpressurisation even gib a person that's not how any of this works
  11. and it's based on pin "durability". A testing pin will never break. most others will. you can replace a pin with another pin to get it out 100% of the time.
  12. Testing pins are going to get added to the protolathe in my expansion, however normal pins are not. And they're quite a bit better than a band-aid fix actually. a bandaid would be something like lockboxes, which make minimal sense. but regardless, I'd be biased when arguing about that, so I'm not going to bother. and I think it'd be better for you to learn the mechanic before saying things about it, as you can buy them in the uplink.
  13. I feel that restricting things in this context is actually a good thing. you're there for research, not unga bunga weapon factory. though distributing non-harmful prototypes shouldn't in general be a hassle. perhaps two levels of forms.
  14. They'll be added. but you're a HoS, if they disobey you, fire them
  15. if I code this I intend to add chemicals that reduce body decay, and possibly have brain damage based on time-from defib, along with all sorts of issues. reviving someone who's been dead for 40 minutes'll be a pain. as it should be.
  16. I can support having a separate - probably very expensive box, or even just a few pins that do this. However just flatly applying this to all the guns in the Armory would likely be a shitty idea, as it A: fucks over any non sec who raids the vault, and B: feels pretty restrictive in general. I might make the pin a thing, but putting it in everything seems to be overkill.
  17. you can take them out with a screwdriver, and the "destroyed with gun" is an oversight, but I'll probably shove this in my Pin-expansion.
  18. Expect something like this in my pin expansion PR, along with crayons.
  19. that's a fucking amazing idea
  20. I should make a PR for this, thanks for reminding me fowl
  21. I think that an acceptable ground would be having 1 skilled profession, and one "unskilled". It's not too hard to believe that a miner/captain could work a part time job as a Janitor. or even a cook if they can well, cook. What's less believable would be something like, a telescientist nurse, or a miner roboticist. to an Extent, cross-department jobs should be allowed. but heavily regulated. So a miner could work as a QM in theory, if they're qualified/old enough, but I find it hard to believe that a scientist can work both R&D, telescience, and Xenobotany. (delet telesci) tldr; idk
  22. More "emotionless unlawed borgs" are EXACTLY what we need. IPCs with heavy emotions are memes.
  23. The redo of it I'm working on is not going to have any automatic aiming, or firing at all.
  24. Xander, I get you're an ideas guy. but this isn't even fleshed out enough to be an Idea. If you want this to ever be considered, Please take more time to flesh it out.
  25. I dont think buffing vampire is needed ever, despite this being a good-theme-fitting concept.
