*Please do not reply to this thread, PM me all questions, or join the Discord to ask! This thread is used for updates!* What is it the SCCN? The Station Command Communication Network, or SCCN for short is a networking program based in Discord, to allow NanoTrasen's Station Command staff to communicate and coordinate, and discuss station policy. These channels are meant for Heads of Staff AND non-Whitelistees to build a sense of community within their fields of leadership, and begin developing their own policies/programs and ideas to be enacted in game on a round-by-round basis. The ideals of acceptance, openness to criticism and improvement guide the SCCN in all that it seeks to accomplish. How does it work? After joining the discord, players are asked to post their main character's name in the Help Desk channel, as well as state their primary role, and any other access in the discord they may need/want. If someone is joining as a guest for the General Convention, there is a specific role for that, if someone is joining to become a Non-Head Member, they can specify their departments of interest and will be registered as such. Because discussions with multiple people can be exasperatingly hard to keep on one topic, the necessary infrastructure has been put in place to allow any member of the SCCN to put in a request to move a specific topic to a private and specific conference room, or a voice-chat conference link. As well, the Discord itself is heavily organized, with a strong infrastructure of roles allowing members to choose specifically what they see, and categories to further sort those channels. Goals and Purpose the SCCN Provide Head Whitelistees': A platform to communicate with one another instantly on matters of policy, regulation, etc. A method to synthesize ideas and opinions to provide concentrated statements to formal server structures (Staff teams) A chance to form friendships and encourage camaraderie between supervisors Provide Non-Whitelistees': A platform to communicate with Heads of Department, and whitelistees about policy, regulation, etc. A chance to partake in discussions that may affect how policies are interpreted/applied ICly by Heads of Staff (as allowed) A support system in the goal to apply for a Head Whitelist Structure of the SCCN The Station Command Communication Network is structured to provide ease of access to the specific interest of each individual member. With the latest addition of 'Specialized Channels' we continue to advanced towards expansion and inclusion for all matters not falling under a specific department. For a full list of all SCCN channels, open the spoiler below! Why am I, a non-Whitelistee, interested? - Not Megatron , SCCN Member 'Caleb Green, Head of Security' The suggestion above originally was proposed in the General Convention of the Station Command Coordination Network, and after thorough two-day discussion and refinement in the convention, was then moved to a vote for endorsement.. Thank you to various SCCN Members for formulating this idea for proposal. The membership was given seventy-two (72) hours to vote. All votes cast, were cast in the Affirmativ. The body of 40 official members and accepted GenCon participants has therefore, formally endorsed this suggestion. All opinions of SCCN members are their own, and they are welcome to share dissenting opinions if they voted against endorsement.

No. If the tesla gets out, it can't be recovered. There is no benefit to letting engineers be shielded from it other than allowing them to cackle manically while everyone else dies. They can suffer with everyone else. An engineer re-caught the tesla just the other day. So.

Lore University Project - Submit Here!!!!!!!!
Azande replied to a topic in Lore Canonization Applications Archive
Name: Trasen Memorial University (TMU) Link to Lore Canonization: (if blank then this is a lore canonization for your university inherently) N/A Focused Field: The university has three primary focuses, called the 'Trasen Trio', these are Business Administration, Research Administration and Biomedical Overview: Trasen Memorial University was founded in 2443, to honour the life Xavier Trasen. TMU had been planned and began building in the years leading up towards Xavier's expected passing. The school focuses heavily on the 'Trasen Trio', and the majority of advertising and funding goes towards the trio, as they are considered fields that Xavier portrayed utter excellence and sophistication in, like no other before him. While these three programs recieve a majority of all funding available for faculties, the school does offer and adequately fund (exceeding suggested budgets proposed by the Government's Dept. of Higher Education) all of their offered faculties, which include but are not limited to Law, Medicine, Xenoscience, Particle Physics, and Phoron Physics. The school is funded by NanoTrasen Corporation, and their moderately high tuition fees. To gain entry to TMU, one must have a minimum grade average of 80%, and have received no mark lower than 75% in their senior years of high school. Explained Organizational Structure Condensed Organizational Structure Due to the heavy affiliation and and influence from NanoTrasen Corporate Conglomerate, The Trasen Memorial University offers guaranteed employment to all graduates, respective to their degree, who graduate with a grade average of over 80%, and as well, offer guaranteed employment at the second-level of pay-grade for all graduates with an average of over 90%. To encourage graduates to choose employment with NanoTrasen, the university solely offers co-op, apprenticeship, and residence opportunities with the company. Additionally, it offers NanoTrasen-specific certifications that are considered additional qualifications attached to one's degree, these include: - NanoTrasen Command Certification - NanoTrasen Security Certification - NanoTrasen Corporate Regulations Understanding and Application Acknowledgement Main employer of graduates: NanoTrasen and the Republic of Biesel **Subject to Additional Approval from Jackboot** Because of the heavy influence from NanoTrasen during their education, and the consideration of their education to be full, adequate and exceptional by corporate officials, graduates from TMU are excused from job-experience requirements for non-command positions, and may be at least two years below the age requirements posted for positions. Current Dean: University President: Drake Bathory, 48, Masters in BA and Juris Doctorate, former CCIA from Sol & dual Sol-Biesel citizenship. Has a picture of Miranda and Xavier in his office. Political unspoken except when voicing NanoTrasen's formal stances. University Provost: Dr. Lysandra Selfridge, 58, Doctorate in Advanced Particle Physics, former Research Director for NanoTrasen. Biesel citizen. Former colleague of Xavier Trasen, investigated twice by government review boards of ethics violations in research - never punished or deemed guilty. Chair of the Board of Governors: Paul Fleetus, 62, Former University President, Doctorate of Professional Studies, Biesel citizen. Affiliated with NanoTrasen since Xavier-era. Enjoys long walks through government plaza and extended stays in government offices. Famous Graduates: ("George Melons went here!") Pres. There is a server that has a console that allows Heads of Personnel to open and close jobslots based on present need, but they only have a limited amount of slots to use in opening and closing to avoid abuse. We could port this.

Medical records. You're talking about medical records. Update them yourself, I do it as CMO and enforce others do it while I'm CMO. For triage, that is what your HUD is for, see their pain/health level, and go treat them based on that.

Aaron Hughes's Head of Staff Application
Azande replied to Aaron J. Hughes's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
In regards to the -1 up there, both sides are kind of right (Head Whitelistee and HoS of three years here) The Head of Security would be expected to resolve the issue in a smoother manner, and it is important for a Head of Security to foster a sense of team-work and belonging for all members of security (you are literally ride or dies, you life depends on one another 90% of the time) In the same vein, a Security Cadet MUST follow the orders of Security Officers, and if they are in the Brig, the Warden. Per Uniform Regulations, you must be in your uniform if you are primary security personnel (officers, warden, cadet, HoS), and investigate must wear security badges if out of provided uniforms. Being ordered to wear your uniform IS valid, refusing to follow this order is failure to execute an order. If there was a Head of Staff on, however - the best action would have been simply to request this head explain to the Cadet that they have to wear their uniform, rather than request a demotion for them. Cadets are learning roles, do not expect them to know regulations 100%. I'm not going to support nor disapprove of this for now, you should consider joining the SCCN in the meantime. -
Edited to include this! All members are able to use our Membership Badge in their forum signature as well, and all members/visitors partaking in GenCon can use our GenCon Participant Forum badge! Get involved!

I'll address all of your points as they were listed as clearly as I can. 1. There is no fellow organizers, and I learned from the mistake of over-regulating the precursor group of the ACN - And so when the SCCN was made, the 'Information Office' was removed, it does not maintain a team of anyone aside from myself, and I am only here to do recruitment posts and provide people with access. 2. All members (except GenCon Visitors, who specifically join just to partake in that main talking event) have access to any channel they want, and with my recent revision even non-whitelistees are allowed to join as guests if they are so inclined! The only channel with a restriction is the 'Command' channel, only whitelisted Heads are permitted in there, in case anything private is discussed such as First Contract Protocol. All other channels are free access to anybody that wishes to request them. 3. The rules of the SCCN discord are 100% modeled after Aurora's discord rules, and the intention is (never had to yet) , that anyone that breaks a rule on my discord that is a violation of in-game server rules, will have their comments recorded, deleted and forwarded to relevant Aurora Staff. If they are banned from the server permanently, they will be kicked from the discord. 4. I would be fine being included in a closed-door discussion, as long I am spoken to politely and not down to (this has happened before) about the future of this group, should staff wish to endorse this group or for CCIA to do so - I would be 100% okay with it, and committing to any changes to the discord required for such. 5. In terms of liaisons, unless staff do move towards the avenue of formally supporting the group - I do not intend to have any server staff liasoning/moderating the discord, at any point that is does become 'endorsed', I would be very welcoming to any staff wishing to have a place in it, either as IC liaisons, for CCIA, or OOC moderators for staff.

Station policy, regulations and any other sort of programs run by a Head of Staff are everyone's business! As such, we're absolutely welcoming non-Heads to join and have unrestricted access to our channels to discuss these sorts of things with us! It's a great place to build a rapport with whitelisted players if you're looking at an upcoming application, and can serve as a great forum for you to express your frustrations on how Command is doing! You can join directly to our Help Desk channel to register with this link https://discord.gg/YBy3FFc , once you've joined, you can do one of two things! A) Register as an active member! We have a forum signature badge and you can stay long-term! You'll be given a rank in the Discord reflective of your character's department and able to ICly have discussions. B) Register as a General Conference Visitor! You'll be able to stay until GenCon is closed, at which point you can either register or be kicked! GenCon is an OOC channel so you will not be able to ICly interact with people this way! You'll also get the privilege of using our General Conference Participant forum badge for your signature! What is the General Conference? The General Conference, or 'GenCon', is a full-group discussion with all SCCN members involved on various large topics. It's done in an OOC format for the sake of being able to express ourselves clearly and properly, and at the end of it, my intention is to post a summary of what has been discussed! The current topic listing is here below, but anything can be discussed as these are only guiding topics, rather than mandatory agenda pieces: - Proper punishment of hooliganism and misbehaving crew (Brigging vs. Administrative punishment?) - More communication with Central Command on behalf of crew (Avowals of Responsibility, Loyalty Pledges,Synth Command Recommendation) - More cooperation with Internal Affairs Agents during the execution of their duties - Proper education of crew in terms of safety on the asteroid and open-floored areas - Community Policing focus of Security - Addressing ATLAS propaganda on board - Increased attention to the station's financial situation - Filing incident reports more actively If any of these interest YOU, or if you want to discuss something else - Please just click the link above!

Security IS Station Commands personal little army. They exist to enforce regulation, and the orders of the Heads of Staff. They are there to protect and serve the heads of staff, they are there to protect you as long as you are not a threat. If you are a threat, well. Heads of Staff have no obligation to play into antag spiels and bullshit. Antags need to get good, I'm not having my round ruined because I'm expected to play dumb and let some ninja or ling kill me in a maintenance tunnel.

Vaurca have been known for exactly a damn year by all other species. Do not expect medical staff to understand properly, how to treat you - it takes them 12 years to learn in school just how to treat humans and other aliens. Personally, I have no idea how to handle vaurca.

TO: Mellis Laurenzi FROM: Christine Clarke, Internal Affairs Aurora Branch SUBJECT: RE: ATLAS BSD Visit BODY: Dear Mr. Mellis Laurenzi, I am not writing to you in representation of my supervisory counterpart, Central Command Internal Affairs, but instead as an independent member of the Internal Affairs Branch of the NSS Aurora itself. As an Internal Affairs Agent, I have a unique perspective on such an event - but such opinion is not one I can properly share in this context as a professional - I do however, have a series of suggestions that will benefit you and your organization in being able to properly meet and congregate for your meeting, and ease the tension between the event's occurrence and station operation. As you know we presently have two additional documents in our Request Console Systems that have been drawn up in cooperation with the Republic of Biesel and Tau Ceti Government, which outline tips on identifying foreign agents operating within Republic and NanoTrasen space. I would highly suggest that copies of these documents are posted within the meeting hall for the event, and that all guests are encouraged to review them. Secondly, I would suggest a properly and cleanly formatted manifest of all event participants and staff contacts is drawn up before hand, to be presented to Station Command as the event is meant to begin. This would optimally detail a list of those organizing and servicing the event (security, guest speakers, caterers etc), and a list of all attendees and whether they are presently employed by NanoTrasen Corporate Conglomerate. Thirdly, along with the manifest, it would be apt to ask for all those taking part in the event to wear the 'ATLAS Armband', that members presumably recieve with party membership, this will allow Internal Security and Station Command to easily identify 'visitors' as visitors partaking in this particular event, and control access non-ATLAS visitors have to your gathering. My final suggestion is also a reminder. NanoTrasen Corporate Conglomerate maintains with the Republic of Biesel and Tau Ceti, the right of all citizens and employees to politically identify as they so-choose, and their freedom to associate within civil reason, however any speech that is considered anti-NanoTrasen, or against the Republic, will almost assuredly be addressed by Station Command and Internal Security if it occurs, to the full extent of Corporate Regulations and Republic law. As such, it would be highly suggested that you provide a copy of all material planned to be read to the guests, to Station Command or Central Command for preliminary approval, and that you also emphasize to your guests at the start of the event and leading up to it, that such speech will not be tolerated, and could lead to station officials closing the event. These of course, are only suggestions and I cannot hold you to them, or force you to align yourself with them - However, I do heavily believe that the implementation of such suggestions will ensure your event proceeds smoothly without interruption, and is able to come to a proper close by the end of the shift. Best regards, Christine Clarke Internal Affairs NSS Aurora Branch

The thing about conversion is this: The null rod is optional, it will HURT them to refuse to convert already, it does, which is why you can get arrested for assault during conversions regardless of the 'rod slip' bullshit we have to put up with >_> Now, HOLY WATER is not optional, if you absolutely drown someone in holy-water through forcefeeding, it WILL eventually force them to deconvert, I think it's like a 30% chance or something of deconversion? It won't do harm to the cultist either - but you can get arrested for assault for this as well.

...When I'm playing mining, yes. those are my OOC beliefs. OOC beliefs are also a lot different from IC ones. Science is fucking useless In game most of the time, canonly it's the most important department on the station. The way you had expressed them it appeared it was a character-spanning mantra that you maintained as an individual. If that isn't the case, by all means I'll withdraw my -1. -
I said remove the phoron GAS production for kois lore, not having phoron paste inside.

Can you make the dev team make it so kois puts phoron into the air? Or can you remove phoron gas production from kois lore? We need one or the other - Presently in game, kois does not give off phoron when grown .

I didn't save screenshots, the conversation history has remained the entire time, although 'puush', my screenshot service, saves a backup of my screenshots to an online repository. The prelude to the first message back in February where you randomly messaged me was talking about HunterRS - You had asked me why I put up with him because he had been throwing a fit on the Minecraft server, I explained I had not banned him/punished him yet as I was trying to be nice. You then messaged me three months later with the response that you did. The reason I've shared that one despite it's age, is that it occurred just after your trial had ended, and as you began your moderatorship. Anyways - I can clearly see that you and I having a back and forth here isn't going to lead to anything beneficial - So it would perhaps be better to await for an administrator or head administrator's response.
-
You can still talk while covering their mouth with something, they might not be able to respond but oh well. Go somewhere more secluded if you want time to talk back and forth.
