  1. Ew, get out of our status block, Pooner.

  2. Just make it so if a Wizard uses a healing spell, it automatically gets rid of shrapnel. This might sound OP, but in order to get rid of Shrapnel normally, you need to expose yourself to Medbay and hope Security doesn't come to fucking arrest you right after, which ends your round basically. EDIT: Vampires can actually survive Shrapnel so long as they continuously Blood Heal the damage off. It works, but it doesn't remove it permanently. Changelings....I don't know, maybe just say they shift their skin to eject all content, vomiting out current reagents, shrapnel, and cavities?
  3. BYOND Key: diggiez Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: thedoctoct Reason of Ban: As Chaplain, repeatedly intervened in security incidents involving vampires because they 'believed' they had to cleanse them' or 'were suspicious of how they were acting' due to extremely minor previous encounters, even while they were being detained by security forces and cyborgs, on two different occasions, within hours of each other. This is clear validhunting behavior and you are encouraged to play other roles in order to familiarize yourself with what escalation is and isn'tappropriate before you appeal this ban. Reason for Appeal: Ever since I got the ban, I found it to be pretty unfair considering I saw the Vampire try to flash me with her eyes and then saw her mess with the memories of the gardener, but I was too lazy to make a staff complaint about it last year, so I won't bring it to here. Though, my main reasoning for believing I should be unbanned from this role is because I didn't and don't want to play Chaplain to chase down cultists or vampires. During most rounds, a priest won't even be able to do anything to the occult because no one will believe them. Even if I don't play chaplain for the next week, I want this ban out of the way so I can play it whenever I feel like playing it.
  4. Secborgs have been here since the start of the server, and they've been complained and yelled at through the years. If it's been six years and just 'punishing bad players' and enforcing stricter things doesn't cut it, what will?
  5. This happens literally every time. Filing an IR would just be a headache since soooo many people do it because it's a dumb player policy people have been doing.
  6. I don't get why Security got so many fluff alt-outfits. It's like the spriter who made them was some sec lover or something....also yeah, please do this. The only good part of the corporate outfit is the corporate sec cap, which looks cool and doesn't ruin the look of blue and black instead of just BLACK, BLACK.

    Consular Services

What if it's a PRA consul and you're a human?
  8. BYOND Key: diggiez Character Names: Josuke Houstani, Ron Roids, Ka'Akaix'Wxkri C'thur Species you are applying to play: None, because robots aren't a species IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Exempt Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Of course, why wouldn't I? Why do you wish to play this specific race: (One paragraph minimum) For the longest time, I found IPCs to be too boring to play or consider for a whitelist, but recently I've been brainstorming about ideas and circumstances that would mesh well if played as an IPC. Things like reactions to illogical events, processing of information, and drawn conclusions. I want to play IPC to be an android that can seem a bit human, but will fall back to its typical programming and code. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: (One Paragraph minimum) IPCs are artificial, they are not born, they are manufactured like products, or as passion projects. They will consistently fall back to known logic and their programming whenever presented with things that may break or flex it, but they are smart and learn with their surroundings, like a form of digital evolution. Being 'Owned' isn't the same as being lawed, and many owned positronics plan or are trying to pay off their cost to become free. People also react differently to IPCs based on how they look. A more robotic-acting IPC with a bland, artificial face would be more annoying to organics, and get more insults thrown at them while a Shell who sounds and mimicks human behavior would be tolerated more. Character Name: HEPH-MOVER 345 Please provide a short backstory for this character (Aproxomately two paragraphs) What do you like about this character? 345 is in an ironic state where every role they've ever been in has always been the role they were going to be anyways. Even if they were never stolen from in the factory, they would've been a cargo-carrier and work with crates anyways. 345 also gives me that feeling of an old bot, kept working through unprofessional and haphazard means. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I usually don't give actual ratings, but because IPCs are about logical, objective statements and conclusions, I will give one. 5/10, I'm not good, I'm not that shit, but I feel I've been able to act in the shoes of my character and species; I don't care too much about OOC to mix it with IC and change interactions with a specific other person. One thing I feel I've avoided is abusing species mechanics, or hunting with it; I rarely interact with antags when they're a known threat, and I have my characters consistently busy to avoid observing the antag ICly out of boredom. Notes: I feel like this app is going to come out generic even with the set idea I had in mind
  9. Wait, why is Android being removed from the alt-title section?
  10. I mean, the Guide to Food and Drinks is already used by bartenders and chef for this. For the sake of not cluttering up that already-huge page, we could just add a new page called 'Guide to Pricing' that gives averages on GENERAL foods. By general, I mean instead of naming the price for each individual food (a task no one will ever do), it's just a rough average on the type of food. For instance: Burger | 6-11cR Pizza | 21-50cR etc. etc.
  11. I've played bartender and have it so that people only have to pay 5-15 credits for a drink, 15 if you're pushing it and having me make an advanced drink that takes a couple minutes, and the crew will get so annoyed they have to use the ATM they make another bar and sell drinks for free. I had no customers those rounds, and no one cares because people are so used to getting shit for free. Charging for literally anything gets yelled as overpricing, and it's annoying on both levels.
  12. But how and why would NT ever want to cover the cost of food, which is a ridiculous variable for all employees disregarding Command?
  13. The thing is, why would NT want kataphracts when they have TCFL who are literally patrolling around the Aurora. Also, what tech would the Kata-squad have? If it's worse than the TCFL, why would NT want them at all if TCFL is always an option? If it's on par of TCFL...then why not just make it a TCFL side-option?
  14. I want people to be forced to pay, because it makes sense ICly. There's too many variables at play for a company to say 'Oh yes, this much food and drinks is covered by your contract' when they'd be better off charging you. There's also the fact that most people go to the Odin to go home, so they can get arguably cheaper foods at home than at work, like anyone with a mind, they bring lunchboxes. In general, I usually keep 30-60 credits on me at all times for sudden payment, or wait for a cardswipe.
  15. Can't you just psuedo-promote current assistants. Not like most assistants have much to do, with how much they get ignored.
  16. Everyone spawns with a box for internals incase of emergencies, even Vaurcae because of dumb spaghetti code. Wouldn't it be good for emergencies if these boxes were turned into little kits for emergency survival? And by kit, I don't mean a Mini Bear Grills Survival Pack, I mean just the current box, with internals, and a crowbar and something extra, like an air bubble (if those fit in there when folded up, I forget their size category). I'm suggesting this because usually whenever a power outage happens, few people have access to the emergency toolboxes with crowbars in them so people resort to smashing windows to make crowbars themselves.
  17. I think the reason it's so long is to allow for potential cloning to happen with medbay not having to worry about doing it in 10 or so minutes, though imo, Observing from lobby should lower the respawn timer to 10 or 15 minutes.
  18. If you want roleplay with no potential of dying in a game-ish manner since SS13 is a game, you can find and go on literally any rp forum. They have chill forums, heavy forums, everything ss13 rp servers have, but arguably better in terms of quality, but less mechanics and gamey feels. But from what I've gotten from the general tone of the OP, you just...hate how ss13 in general is right now. I don't mean to put words in other people's mouths, but from the context of the posts, all I can get is: -Extended 24/7 with occassional peacetag who definitely cannot kill people -No possibility of dying and if so, a quick and fast-paced cloning to get back into the swing of things These two things kind of go against the way of the server. Constant Extended is boring, for anyone involved because antags are needed to spice up, even if their 'gimmicks' aren't the most original, its fun to see what they think of and how you can help or make them better. No chance of death creates a feeling of total entitlement and that your character cannot die. It is like OOC plot armor, without the plot. Once your character dies for something they really should have died for, people are usually confused, and become defensive, trying to find excuses and reasons to keep their character alive so you can keep playing them instead of moving on because it canonically fits. If I had to say, Aurora might not just be the right server for you, but SS13 itself might not be right for you, especially considering the fact most servers have no full respawn system.
  19. Antags aren't required to murder to be considered good, but sometimes they do to be good. If you happen to get murdered by one or the result of their action, shrug it off and live with it unless it truly was horribly escalated. Playing a Secret round is signing a contract that says "Yes, I accept that I can have my entire round turned by an antag, or cut from the round entirely, and I am okay with that", if you aren't okay with it, you can observe first, see what the antag's gimmick is and then join, or play on Extended, or play when you're pretty sure it's a peace antag, or play Visitor where antags really won't bother you unless you witness one of their antagonistic actions firsthand. Literally, as Visitor, no one cares about you except maybe Cultists or Vamp, and Ninjas can steal people with actual access- like the other interns.
  20. It's not an actual IC policy, it's more of a player policy Heads enforce for the purpose of not tiring themselves off. Also, most non-psychiatrist mains don't even know how to cure most traumas....even though they icly should.
  21. This has already been discussed in another forum.
  22. Isn't that in place with departamental laptops?
  23. They look out of place. The old sprites fitted our set much better; also, I don't understand the thought process behind porting sprites from other servers with different spritesets when we're having new sprites for current items being worked on.
  24. Please don't remove general dept. access for janitors. I haven't seen anyone in the past 6 months get antag janitor and even use the access all that much. It's not like they have access to individual offices and the most they use half the time is usually just a free medkit lying around in medbay triage.
  25. Because you're gay. We've already established this/
