Manfred Hayden lewds the IPC. Zenus 632 /hates/. None of that is in character. You can tell both of them are jokes towards the LOOC. It happened seconds apart. It would have been seen had this been looked in to properly.
-
Uh no. I did the same thing, ICly. TBear would have seen it, had he confirmed the ahelp was true to begin with. This points out he didn't check to see... because our responses were just seconds apart. And that's even worse, in my opinion. The fact that an ahelp wasn't even properly looked in to.
-
It came from both me and Nikov. It was said meer /seconds/ after one another. Are you telling me he didn't scroll up to even confirm the truth behind the ahelp? If he had, he'd have seen us BOTH do it. Choosing not to ahelp me and note me for doing the exact same thing is picking a side. I'd rather have a note than witness double standards. If you get on to one person for it, EVERYONE that does it needs to be done the same way.
-
Then the situation wasn't investigated into properly. All he had to do was scroll up in chat and see it occurring from both sides. A side was taken here. And it wasn't okay.

BYOND Key: SatinsPrist666 Staff BYOND Key: TBear Game ID: Game ID: b29-dquv Reason for complaint: Shuttle ride home after a heist round. Some chucklefucky stuff happening on the shuttle with disarms. Some chucklefucky things happening on the Odin with a shirtless Chip and Dale Bartender, a man roaming around with a bleeding head wound, and some dude just power slamming drinks till he blacks out. Typical end of round crap. RP is there, but it isn't the highest quality you'll ever see. On the shuttle, someone in LOOC mentioned IPC ERP and my response was to "not lewd Zenus". It was a joke. You could easily tell it was a joke. ICly, Manfred Hayden responded with "lewds the IPC" and I responded back with "/hates/" We've seen this kind of joke a hundred times before. I've witnessed meme-y'er crap come from mod players. It's round end. It's a small joke we do (and quite a few regulars do it often enough). Someone ahelps it because... I don't know. They felt for SOME REASON that broke their immersion but the shit going on around us didn't. TBear takes it upon himself to "crack down the whip" and note the player over this. But he doesn't note ME for doing the same. No, for some reason, Nikov got a PERMANENT NOTE for this, but the hundreds of other times I've witnessed it (and the time I DID IT AT THE SAME TIME NIKOV DID IT) don't get noted. I feel like this is over-kill for a mod. It was a joke during a somewhat chaotic shuttle ride, and in no way did it break immersion worse than the things we let slide by on the Odin that same shift. It was a non-factor, and really shouldn't have been noted about. It feels less like a "hey, this is a serious offense" and more like a mod just trying to throw their weight around. Did it break rules? Yes. Have we seen it happen before and nothing happen? Of course we have. I didn't get noted for it. I want to know why the situation wasn't looked in to properly. Why I wasn't spoken to. Why TBear just perma noted a player for something so TRIVIAL and what was obviously a 4th wall break at round end. I'd like to know why Niklov was treated different than other players. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks:

Player Complaint - Jesse Armstrong
SatinsPristOTD replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Not related to the complaint. But to answer you, Oscar is known for it, and they aren't against any sort of regulation. I can't say I've seen someone arrested for wearing one. As for Paradox's complaint, your character didn't properly RP any of that either. Instead of trying to have handled ICly and going up the chain of command, you just continued to ignore people and flat out OOCly power push the order to not happen. Your character doesn't have much reason to ignore the orders of a Command member, and if you did have complaints ICly, you would have voiced them instead of sitting there, ignoring people and not escalating the situation properly. Should he order slugs and such? Well, Alb has said not at round start, but this isn't wrote down anywhere. At all. It's not in the rules, I've never heard him say it (I'm not denying it, but I'm stating I've only heard this by WORD OF MOUTH). It's not on any wiki page to my knowledge. Spider is right. This station has CANONLY gone through a lot of shit, even as recent as this summer. People are ICly paranoid now, and we've gave them enough canon arcs to be that way. The HoS didn't respond to anything improperly this round. I found Armstrong to be giving the antag a lot more freedom than most do. -
[2 dismissal]New Rules for Head of Staff
SatinsPristOTD replied to IAmCrystalClear's topic in Rejected Policy
No, it doesn't. There's no difference in us using our Command member to get the job, or us making another character and getting the job. This isn't an argument that benefits your suggestion. Keeping us from joining as our Command member doesn't... "free" the slot. Some people only have one character, and there isn't a rule against that. It doesn't make them a bad roleplayer for not having *cough sixteen* characters. They're connected and they RP very well as that character. So if their slot (which only has one position open) gets taken, they will naturally want to do the job their character was originally assigned to. (You aren't born a Command member. It makes sense for Armstrong to be a detective. Gonzales to be a surgeon. This is their trade. This is their livelihood.). Being told, "Hey, we need a surgeon, badly, and Gonzales is on the roster for today. Schedule him out there." and Gonzales, who likes his job, wouldn't go against that because he knows where his skills lie, and he knows he's needed. You could always argue the Command member that has taken a lesser job (nothing stupid like HoS to bartender, but something simple like their actual life TRADE) has agreed to do the job as a temporary help towards whatever situation is on-going. This is not difficult to RP around, at all. I can agree that stupid shit like Commander to Bartender makes no sense, and shouldn't happen. -
BYOND Key: SatinsPrist666 Game ID: [Game ID: b23-b61x] Player Byond Key/Character name: Not sure. Character was a merc named John, or Johny. Staff involved: I was told to complaint it by Goret on the main discord Reason for complaint: (State your reason for your complaint) A merc (who was acting incredibly odd, cringy and a bit rapey) made the comment about how he wondered how much my character would sell on the sex slave trade. They also kept asking my character if she was okay with coziness and the way he was RPing it felt.... like he was skirting the topic of what he REALLY meant, and what he really meant was highly wrong. The comment felt incredibly inappropriate and made me feel very uncomfortable. I was told to make a complaint. I didn't know I should ahelp it. I do now, and I will be ahelping these sort of comments in the future. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Nope. Didn't know it was something I should ahelp about. Approximate Date/Time: 9/2/2019

Player Complaint-Darius Stafford
SatinsPristOTD replied to SatinsPristOTD's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
You messaged me on Discord. I'll respond and see if we can't work through this! I specifically made this complaint not for ADMINS, but for you to see. I even said it in the ahelp I sent about Stafford. I do not want action taken. Now that you've seen the thread, and are open for some help, I'd like it archived! -
[Denied] LordPwner's IPC Application
SatinsPristOTD replied to LordPwner's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
RP side of things, Pwner is excellent. I enjoy his characters, and he does well to make rounds fun. I'd +1 him based on his RP. I can't say much for the IPC background. -
Your department reflects your ability to Command. If they act up, you handle the situation, even if it's "in the middle of a round that is popping off". Because their fuck ups will ONLY get worse and make things worse. You should ABSOLUTELY be the one to handle a Command member if they're being arrested. They arent some fucky janitor. These are high clearance people. You were told, NUMEROUS TIMES, over Command channel that no crime occured. Even Roadman was going along with the gimmick. You honestly did not listen to anything that was said over the Command channel, because I.. guess it didn't help you secure your valids.
-
I was mentioned in this. I spoke to the player on the Security Discord, but sometimes I can get a little memey in that sort of forum. I'll post what I said here because, while I believe you listened, I'm unsure if you agreed about the gross negligence that occurred. First, let's all recognize I was a turned vampire antag that round, but, I hadn't actually done anything that round to even bring the slightest bit of suspicion to my character. I was the Research Director, and a well known Captain to at least TWO (and quite a bit more crew) Command members. While Moore doesn't get along with Gonzales on a "teehee we're best buddies" level, it doesn't change the fact that she carries a bit of respect. I called Roadman into my office for several reasons. One, the two characters actually have an on-going little plot, and I was able to use this plot to gain access to his blood. For some reason (and I still don't know why RoseTango just FOLLOWS Roadman around on Cameras, as if she's looking for antaggery to hit Command), Samara Watson was stalking him on cameras, and she witnessed Moore "straddling" Roadman. At the same time, Pennant (Who had also just... meta'd the hell out of my situation, but that's another story) IMMEDIATELY enters my office, grabs Oliver (who barely had any blood missing, as I didn't get time to succ) and threw him on a roller bed before anyone could get any RP off. The entire situation was very suspicious of metagaming the round type, but that's not even the tip of my iceberg for what happened. Security rushes in and demands I get on the ground. I speak to Roadman, over Command, and Roadman AGREE'S WITH ME that there was no assault, or battery. He was confused, that was all. I played it off as the two had gotten a little heavy handed in her office, as Moore does use Oliver as an emotional crutch sometimes. The Commander didn't care, nor did his team. They threatened to shoot me if I didn't get on the ground (like I was some kind of murdering criminal). I complied. This entire time, the Commander is refusing to listen to Command or the victim who says nothing happened. I'll write it off as "Well there were OTHER vampires", but you don't treat a Command member like that over a battery charge. You don't have them stripped of everything but their skirt, left in prisoner intake until the OFFICER decides to do "interrogation", and shoved BACK INTO prisoner intake until they've EXCEEDED the maximum time limit for the supposed crime they committed. The interrogation was just me being threatened. The only person on that team that realized they were holding a command member over the maximum sentence for battery, was Oscar Easter. He released me, but HE got threatened to be shot for releasing me. The Commander deemed me a HuT, according to his officer, and I actually had to ahelp at that point, because HuTing me over that was too valid'y for my taste. The complaint is you didn't organize your department, in the slightest. YES, you ARE in charge of knowing what happens in your department. Do mistakes happen? Of course they do. I'm not perfect either, but I RECTIFY WHAT WENT WRONG when I find out. You were told over, and over, and OVER that your team was wrong, and yet you STILL did not even attempt to step in and fix it. It got to the extent that we called for your removal. If you weren't going to control them, we didn't need you. All you were doing was feeding them fuel.

I ahelped what that incident report is about, and it wasn't answered, so we can't say this wasn't brought up by me. The guy LITERALLY copied and pasted the "how to raise research levels" guide from our wiki onto a sheet of paper. He labeled it as like a Hephaestus Work Sheet, and tried to tell Clockwork to "Follow this, my buddy in Science just texted it to me over PDA." (Keep in mind, i had the levels as high as you can get without illegal tech, so this entire show was moot.) He then proceeded to tell me (Clockwork) that he was a ex-Sol Navy Recon Spec Ops, and that he could handle sensitive information like this because he was trusted. So, we have a player that has copied a wiki onto a sheet of paper (as a miner), handed it to a Roboticist and said his "friend" texted it to him. Guess what? The guy plays the Scientist too. He powergamed the hell out of that situation. Clockwork reports this to Security, because some SCIENTIST is leaking research like it's candy, over TEXT MESSAGING, and that felt like a breach of NDA and Security. When the guy finds out I reported it, he says I'm slandering the Scientists name and that he'd drill me open. That's just one incident of this guy, but it's a pretty damning one. Local miner powergames research levels by claiming Scientist "friend" (played by said miner) texted him how to do it all. Local miner is also ex-Sol Navy Recon Spec Ops with said scientist "friend".

[Withdrawn] MoonTruthers command whitelist
SatinsPristOTD replied to MoonTruther's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I feel like someone with two permabans shouldn't be thinking about a command whitelist application for a MAJORLY significant of time. You literally had that perma lifted not even a month ago. We haven't had time to see if you've changed, at all. As someone who HAS interacted with your engineer, you... really need to get a better grasp on the mechanics as a whole before you apply for Command. -1 until a few months have passed. I like Yung, I do, but I want to see what you've got now that you're back. -

Player Complaint-Darius Stafford
SatinsPristOTD replied to SatinsPristOTD's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
No no, you're not understanding us. He didn't talk before or AFTER surgery either, at least not without being asked multiple times, and he never organized his team, from the get go. When he got out of surgery, he still did not speak or organize Security. We understand not talking while in surgery. That's not the complaint. This complaint isn't just about one shift either. Stafford has done this nearly every shift I've worked with him. -
BYOND Key: SatinsPrist666 Game ID: This is over MULTIPLE rounds Player Byond Key/Character name: Darius Stafford. Don't know the ckey. Staff involved: I asked Alb if it would be okay to make this complaint to raise awareness to the player, as I didn't want their whitelist looked at. I simply want the player to realize that the following complaint is ongoing and that it needs to be addressed BEFORE their whitelist has to be looked at. Reason for complaint: I have Captain'd with Darius Stafford several times. (More with my old Captain Demos, but lately the rounds have been with Scarlett Moore.) Darius does not communicate, at all. In fact, you have to directly ask him to talk before he even begins to communicate to Command OR Security. Half the time, it relies on the Captain or some officer to give orders and find out what's going on. Last round (the one that prompted me to file this complaint), the security force had to be commanded by the Captain and Jake Jarvis. Now given, Darius was in surgery for close to 30mins, but before surgery and after he STILL did not attempt to communicate with his team over any sort of frequency. This leads to a very disorganized Security team, lack of communication, confusion, and honestly... I'd rather not have a Head of Security at all if I'm gave the option of one that doesn't talk or not having one. Commanders are incredibly important, and we need you to communicate better with your team AND with Command. As a whitelist holder, you have to guide your department. You are their mouthpiece at times. You can't just not give orders and sit around waiting for the action to occur. Team building is an important part of the security force. Even if it's to check on them over the radio, "hey, status update?". It lets us know you're there and willing to command when needed. but you drop the ball on this, hard. I've had multiple people come to me about this. I don't want to see a white list stripped. I don't want to see a warning, or a ban. I want the player to reflect on their RP and see if they can understand where I (and several others) are coming from. It's frustrating to rely on you if you don't talk. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes and no? I ahelped at the start of the next round, as I was a bit AFK at round end. I was hoping maybe Stafford would pick up, even a bit, but it never happened. Approximate Date/Time: Last known shift this occurred was around 11am CST, 23/8/2019

Emagged drones turns into a yakity sax with a fucking plasma cutter and a little shit that can take multiple gun shots without dying. They're hard to catch, can't be locked down, and give absolutely no RP in return for going on wild goose chases. It's not like THEY can RP. All they can do is panic siphon the room you're in and yeet away. Too much power for a ghost role.

It was five today, but the injuries to the two IPC security members left them unusable until the shuttle ride home. Armstrong rushing in during a bomb threat LITERALLY took out the ENTIRE security force. However, I'd like to note the situation was ahelped and Spider was spoken to. He's agreed to tone down the "Gwen smoochy smoochy when I'm needed." I do think you need to RP your loyalty implant a lot better. (Despite me hating the existence of LI's, I still understand they're required.) You also need to LISTEN more to your captain AND crew during emergencies. I've had you flat out ignore orders from me as Captain because you were busy dealing with Miller and your chair RP. (You failed to change the code at a time when the antag was NOT raging enough to warrant a "I was busy excuse."). You've also failed to listen to me as your CSI when gave important information about a crew member. (this happened today during the round that the entire sec department was put out of commission.) We just lost Lin because people complained about lack of communication. Please don't let us lose you too.

Forensic techs already get railroaded by their own departments inability to understand what a crime scene is. Now we have to deal with a borg doing it as well? Borgs taking over jobs that have multiple purpose is fine. (We'll always need more Engineers, Miners and Surgeons), but to put a borg in control of a niche job that isn't respected as it is... well.. doesn't sit right with me. All you'll have is "Ah, let the borg go dust for prints." which is the CSI's main job: forensic data.

Sutures and recovery periods, and complications.
SatinsPristOTD replied to GlitterGuts's topic in Archive
Why would a cautery go to R&D? We use cauteries in TODAY's surgery. Sutures would be fine, but the cautery should remain in the surgical procedure. THE CAUTERY PROCEDURE IS NOT AN UNCOMMON ENOUGH THING TO BE DEVELOPED IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT. I CAN REPEAT THAT IF NEED BE. On the topic of "healing times", as mentioned in a previous discussion for this: rounds are 2 hours long (sometimes less, sometimes more but this is the average.) No one wants to sit there for 30-40 mins in pain crit, or expecting Medical to RP with them while the Ninja is ripping limbs off in one hit crits. Medical can be slow, but those rounds aren't as common as you think. Once the antag hits, we can barely keep our head out of the dirt. ss13, whether you admit this to yourself or not, is face paced when the antag hits. We can sit there and RP your pain levels, but as someone who has undergone some serious surgeries AND had to pain manage in a hospital... your nurse isn't sitting there holding your hand. "The wound is tender" RP outside of the medical wing will just have people demanding tramadol or Oxy simply because there's some lunatic with an axe decapping your friends. I'm all for Sutures. In all honesty, I'm all for a better surgery in general. Right now it's "click, wait, click, wait, click wait." We have no life support system. We have no defibs. We have nothing logical. RNG for my surgical skills is a big no no. Do not let my characters skill be based on RNG. It's my decision if Asclepius is good or not. -
-
Then just giving them the access to begin with doesn't ACTUALLY take away from anything. If NT is perfectly okay with the HoP handing out the access, then why don't they come with it already? This is just an unneeded step. You can't say "Well it gives RP with the HoP and the EMT" because it takes all of 3mins to fully RP that out, AND do the paperwork. HoP gets more RP running their two departments. Cutting out the middle man in order to help save lives (and money) makes sense from an IC perspective.
