Voting for dismissal. The impact of brain traumas has been severely overstated - at most you can only have 2 traumas at one time (1 minor and 1 major). There is only one way to get traumas, and that is brain damage (Although oxygen damage will also cause brain damage past a certain threshhold, so I suppose technically there are two ways.) The impact of traumas on cloning does bear some consideration because as Skull stated traumas were not implemented to powernerf cloning, but this consideration does not include their removal.

Yes, let's divide the station in half and gib everyone in that line. Voting for dismissal.

Voting for dismissal. This event is no more damaging than many other events, and in many cases is even less damaging (to the point of triviality) as the virus is largely randomized. If no one is playing virologist then that is a matter for a different suggestion, as has been gone over in respective suggestion threads.

There is no suggestion here. All of these things are just things you can do ICly. Voting for dismissal.

Voting for dismissal. Creative detectives can already do this, and are rewarded for their ingenuity.

As there has been no response to prove otherwise, and these are both custom items, voting for dismissal as using custom item sprites for regular items is strictly against the spirit of custom items.

People gearing up with improvised weapons and going for a good ol' validhunt is a meme as it is. Legitimizing this ICly is a no-go. Voting for dismissal.

All of these already exist in the form of interns. If your rights as an intern are not being respected, stand up for yourself like the little intern you are. Voting for dismissal.

This suggestion doesn't seem to really add anything beyond the common "ree remove common" suggestions, except for adding a new role that only absolute sadists would play. I see few positives to removing the common channel in general, and I see absolutely no positive to the dispatcher role. Voting for dismissal.

There is no penalty for leaving your body, and you can ghost in and out as you please. If you are really concerned about accidentally metagaming, you can restrict your ghost-ears to local radius. If you are concerned about other people metagaming, that is why we have administrators. Furthermore, I am pretty sure this limitation is because dead people are technically unconscious or at the very least use the same mechanisms as an unconscious person, so faffing about with it introduces more trouble than its worth considering the above reasons (Although another dev is free to correct me in this regard.) Voting for dismissal.

Suggestion - A Psych Wing in Sub-Level & Better Psychiatry
LordFowl replied to Dr. Farson's topic in Completed Projects
This has been implemented to an effect, although for some reason a couple of people didn't like the electric chair idea. -
This has been implemented.

If you have a specific problem with someone's forum conduct the solution is to file a forum report, not fling insults back.

[1 Dismissal] Remove progression from All antag types
LordFowl replied to Bygonehero's topic in Archive
As this is a policy suggestion more than anything else, I am moving it to that subforum. -
The current theory on death is that it is easy to die, but dying is not "game over" as you define it. Even if we were to make death more meaningful, making people sit in their corpse and enjoy the "You almost hear something" messages for however long it takes for someone to realize they're dead and clone them would not be the way to go. The basic idea of this suggestion is flawed - making death "suck" is not the way to make death meaningful. Our objective is not to make any aspect of the game "suck", as sucky aspects tend not to be fun, and even losing should be fun. Furthermore, calling people animals will not help sway their opinion. No one is making fun of you, and even if they were responding in kind progresses nothing. Voting for dismissal.

I am pretty sure a mech deals more damage.
-
This is, more or less, completely incorrect. The formula for fall impact of objects takes into account pretty much every relevant variable of an object, including their approximate weight. Dropping a rod from 2 stories up would deal 27 damage, largely due to its high throw speed and throw force and not insignificant weight class, whereas dropping sand from the same height would only deal 6 damage. And this is only because sand already deals 10 damage when you throw it normally.
-
This implementation is both incredibly ugly and quite clumsy. If the offense is such that administration feels the need to step in routinely, then having or not having reinforced wall spam will solve nothing. Furthermore, if you have a problem in mapping, your solution should never be to throw more reinforced walls at it.

Voting for dismissal. This thread has churned into some measure of irrelevancy. Ultimately however the detective should not be responding to threats that officers would respond to non-lethally, and they should thus not have non-lethals. Essentially the revolver is purely a self-defense tool, and has been said before using it is a matter of personal responsibility and consequence that can be dealt with both ICly and via the administratum. In terms of balance, the .38 revolver is piddlesticks. As Alberyk puts it this is a game of stuns, not a game of guns. The only potential issue is shrapnel, but even that deserves currently only a cursory investigation and perhaps a rework of shrapnel entirely to be more dependent on caliber, if it is not already. Balance thusly put aside, let's look at it thematically: The detective's theme is already fucked up. The neo-noir thing that allows the disconjunction of them having lethals while everyone else uses futuristic stun-prods is probably a little dated. But that is a shit-flinging contest for another suggestion thread. I would really only support removing the detective's .38 revolver in contingency to a comprehensive rework/update of detectives.

This train of thought provides an opportune line of thought for reworking virology. As Burger has made abundantly clear, these chemicals do not invalidate viruses. In fact, I would say they're almost too ineffectual. Resource consumptive and predictive instead of reactive. Of course, that is simply because it is trying too hard to play second fiddle instead of becoming the main piece. I say, seize it.

Discussion of memes on reddit have no place in the suggestion forums. If you take umbrage with someone's personal conduct you can discuss it with them privately, it does not belong in the suggestion thread. Furthermore, inflammatory and impassioned remarks are likely only to derail the thread into petty squabbling, which will satisfy no parties. Please check your responses.

[1 Dismissal] Port Deity and create our own Deity type, Glorsh Alpha
LordFowl replied to Bygonehero's topic in Archive
I feel this is a good example of “one suggestion per thread”. Porting deity is on its own ground already a large undertaking both politically and codewise. Adding this permutation would only be slightly less difficult. It would be equivalent to asking to port brainmed but also implement a fully comprehensive bone system. Instead of closing the thread in these grounds however, I will consider it from the perspective of porting deity - when shall we tire of ports? The line I believe is crossed when we begin to port major gamemodes. More than the less harmful ports of late, gamemodes, maps, even job-roles ports serve only to reduce the distinctiveness of our server, particularly when we port from Bay. And as suggestion #2 cannot exist without suggestion #1, voting for dismissal.
