I could say something about one being interchangeable with the other depending on where you look, buuuuuuut..

Oops. Looks like I forgot a post. Moving this to a more proper section.

Senior Engineer / Senior Researcher / Senior Doctor Jobs
SierraKomodo replied to Nikov's topic in Archive
I approve of this idea. Makes things easier for everyone, and having a HUD icon added on for it will help with security/AI quick-skimming over people in secure areas. Naming conventions, I think something like these would work: Senior Engineer Senior Medical Officer Senior Security Officer Senior Science Officer Bridge/Captain's Secretary Personnel Secretary -
Nikov's idea is pretty good IMO, and theoretically should use less mapping space (You don't need to wall off two separate ORs, some equipment can be consolidated into a single tile instead of having two separate lockers, only need one observation room, etc). I'd be game for that.
-
The biologist's operating room is currently privatized for their own use. The biologist is a part of medical bay, and so in theory in the case of emergency their OR could be used. I however dislike this scenario, and if public consensus agrees that two operating rooms is necessary for standard operation I would merely move the buologist's OR and make operating rooms accessible to both surgeons and biologists. As an experiment, I would like you to consider this situation without antagonists in mind. While ultimately I don't care for the meta-distinction between that mythical 'standard operation' and the more common 'every single round that isn't extended', this was a point raised often in the old thread. I'm personally of the opinion that medbay does operate better with two ORs. While it doesn't make much difference for smaller-population rounds, prime time tends to have a slot of medical emergencies cropping up at the same time, and having a second OR means two people can be operated on at once.

After reading Nikov's post, and skimming a few other posts, I'd like to propose an alternative to removing extended from secret - Add another option labelled 'Secret Antags' or something. People that want secret with a chance of extended will vote Secret. People that want antags but don't care which mode or want the 'thrill' or not knowing which type of antags will vote Secret Antags.

If I remember correctly, on old code, the hunger system would have you yellow at about the 1:00, 1:15 mark, and in red by 1:45 to 2:00 if you did not eat at all and spawned at round start. I'd be fine with returning to that system.

Staff Complaint - Whoever banned me
SierraKomodo replied to FrДncеs's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
This isn't the unban requests subforum. And you're evading a forum ban. I'm not the one who banned you but, as a note, I had to bin about 5 shitposts from you in the complaints and applications subforums today, and issued a warning to you. Which... You responded to by reporting the PM it sent you as 'Off-Topic'. Apparently, after that, you continued with this and that's why admins chose to dayban you. And. Once again. You're doing it here. -
Pretty sure this is the case, considering I had to bin about 5 posts Frances made in the complaints and applications section. As a note: Keep your april fool memeing to general and off-topic please.

You're a day early for april fools.

An alternative to removing it could be to allow the AI to toggle the firing mechanism of a vending machine. Could also add some small level shenanigans for an antag AI if they had that power.
-
This needs to go into it's own thread. We are not supposed to be making multiple suggestions in the same thread, despite me liking what you've got here. I agree. This is now a separate thread.

Ricky's Head app.
SierraKomodo replied to Ricky_the_banshee's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
It's likely this was a case where Wald was promoted in-round by a Captain/HoP. -
One thing about Katana that most people don't seem to realise. It's not a 'series' of AIs, it's one positronic AI that is placed into differing chassis based upon what it's doing for that shift (Or in the case of the pAI, uploaded to the pAI network for the duration of the shift/deployment). The Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, etc designations are for NT book keeping purposes - Alpha is the AI core chassis, Bravo was the law-bound synthetic chassis, Charlie (Now named Katana Silvers) is the NT contract IPC, and Delta is the pAI deployment.

During a Mutiny/"nanotransen abandonment"What does the AI Do
SierraKomodo replied to SmokedFish's question in Questions
I think it's more that the mutiny game mode does not exist in newcode; That was one of the 'Aurora code specific features' that hasn't been ported over yet. -
Our (Baycode) map has it currently, it was added in sometime in the last couple weeks. It was even in the changelog. Telecomms scripting itself is disabled, however. Me and Skull tried to get it to work the other day and it wouldn't.

Damnit you're supposed to be annoyed by ECOM!

Admins permitting, I can relocate all of the feedback threads to the general topic pending a new section being made; I do agree that they shouldn't really go in an IC section.

The law also specifically states to /prevent harm/. In order to prevent harm, you have to remove anything that could cause harm. Electrifying a door in that situation adds something that can cause harm and therefore violates the 'prevent' law. At the very least you'd have to monitor constantly and unelectrify the door when they approach it.

So I have various AIs that I play on station from time to time, some people like some of them, others don't. I'm now curious what everyone thinks of these AIs (NOTE: I'm referring to these strictly as station AIs, not as IPCs/pAIs as some of them have been in the past) E.C.O.M. Katana Alpha Kunai ZAVI

CEO would provide confusion with CEO Miranda Trasen; Probably a bad idea.

You got sub officer and leading trooper backwards

My thoughts as well, I don't like players jumping right to emergency shuttle without trying other options. Although it can be argued that no ghosts are around but isn't that IC in OOC? Also Im EXTREMELY resistant to making admin judgments around things I "don't like". Very slippery slope, even if I can back it up. Part of the reason I made this thread. This wouldn't have been possible in this situation though. Only one head of staff was on station, and if this is the round I'm thinking of, the AI (Whom was myself) was 'subverted' and wouldn't have cooperated with the sole head of staff to let them get the spare either.

This completely breaks the balance (and logic) of the game and should never be added for that sake, but I do rather like the laser scalpel suggestion. how so? Drones and construction borgs have a plasteel generator, but an engineering borg doesn't. he can't make reinforced walls at all As someone who's been playing drones alot, we do not get plasteel.
