  1. This isn't a New Year's "You haven't played Command since LAST year!" joke, is it? I think it's a good change. Especially since I can imagine a LOT changing with the NBT, and it may not be the best idea to let people that haven't played on the server, not mentioning the NBT for over a year.
  2. While I cannot fault your skills, I can your person. There has been at least one case of you playing favourites with, and protecting a bad actor Tajaran player you liked. At one point, after I DM'd the player about mine and their character interactions, you DM'd me telling me, bringing an issue between players up to a lore issue, completely dismissing my concerns about the player, and being uncomfortable with my interactions with them, due to me trying to "[...] trying to wiggle away from any possible consequences that your character's action might have despite the lore [...]" essentially putting the IC over the OOC, purely so you could (at least from my perspective) protect the other player. With this interaction with you in the past, I would not feel comfortable in you being at the position of deputy lore master. And thus, I must -1
  3. Really sorry for the misunderstanding then.
  4. imho it should be done in some different way. Half the fun of playing AI (At least for me, back when I did) was looking at the weird shit X departament was doing, and playing after the AI whitelist was implemented, I can say that I've not really seen any AI really "busting" an antag in the middle of something.
  5. I really don't get this. If those roles aren't contested, the system simply doesn't work, since it needn't, and when it does, the same reasoning applies. Besides, who's to say surgeon or Cook won't be the next hot role in half a year?
  6. Right now cameras are where the AI can see. So you'd nerf the AI quite a bit by removing a lot of the cameras. But imho removing most cameras aside from ones in public/sensitive areas, and making some new way for AI to look around, would be a good move.
  7. Alright, I didn't actually know you were on trial, so sorry if this is a bit late. (Also sorry if this WASN'T you, and it'll be really awkward if it wasn't, but I'm fairly certain it was, lol) I played Xioshi, my HoS, in a round where the captain died, I relayed the information to Central, who sent an investigator over, who was almost IMMEDIATELY assassinated. When we got to the Odin, there was a full entourage of CCIA personel waiting for command. It was the BEST dressing down I have ever recieved, it was the best level of Central involvement (including some I didn't mention) I've ever seen on my time I've played on this server, no joke. +1 a hundred times over from me.
  8. Smh, Danse being anti democracy. . . But yeah, glad to hear it's being voted on. Even if I will still vote on it being the Aurora, unless there's some REALLY good alternatives.
  9. As we can see in this excellent application, the trend of nothing wacky happening in and around light's edge, has been present for decades. Shio is a great Roleplayer, and is always good fun to have around. Easy +1 from me. Phrog on.
  10. Found it. Preparing the world cracker.
  11. Excavation suits are anomaly-resistant soft-suits for use by xenoarcheologists. (Normal anomaly suits are not pressure resistant). But right now for some reason they only spawn in maints. "Well it's just a lucky find to reward the snoopy players" you might say, but WRONG, you silly assuming duck. The excavation suits are for some reason a guaranteed spawn in an "old suit storage" locker in the science sub-level maintenance. I find this to be kind of pointless, and thus I suggest we move them to xenoarcheology, where the voidsuits currently are, and move the voidsuits to the storage in science. (If we want to keep the balance of how many suits science has, we can probably only bring in two excavation suits into xenoarch, and two voidsuits into the storage)
  12. That is essentially how it works, well, mostly. If you play as a species while disregarding the lore, you may have your whitelist removed, at the discretion of the lore devs. Since it's not really something that an admin might know about (You can hardly expect them to know all the ins and outs of every species), it's hard to have a system for it, aside from a case to case basis.
  13. Why though? You don't need written lore to give players permission to headcanon stuff. Especially during antag rounds, where ghosts, bluespace demons, and time travellers show up all the time. There's absolutely zero constraint whether the Syndicate is or is not in lore.
  14. I agree that reworks should come before removal. But at this point? There's pretty much nothing to work with, there's a paragraph on the wiki about them. You'd be making an entirely new faction, just with the same name. And imho, at this point, it'd be easier to just make a new faction all together, if you want to, rather than try to massively rework the syndicate, and possibly take on any baggage associated with the name. And does anybody actually want to rework it? I've looked around, and there's one thread from 2019, which as you can guess, went nowhere. There's no real reason to keep it in "just in case" someone might do a rework on it some years in the future.
  15. Let's be honest, at this point, the Syndicate's lore is (and has been for some time now) fairly dead, and since I don't really see any way for it to really be remade to suit the server's needs, without making it a completely different thing, and I do not think it fits the direction of the server, I am suggesting for it to be completely removed from the lore. I think that we have enough really deep, interesting, and morally grey factions, that we do not need a two dimensional "grrr, nt bad" faction.
  16. Yeah, I feel like some people will just build up a sizable number of tokens, which would end with the people that don't play all that often either being at a disadvantage, or being in the same position as before the change. -1 from me
  17. I've known Equario for a few months OOC, and even longer IC, and I definitely think they could give being a mod a good crack, at the very least. They're a pleasant person over all, and a good RP-er. +1 from me.
  18. It is Wednesday, my skrell 🐸 1. They would definitely not make friends with them, but for the sake of efficiency, they would most likely retain a neutral, if somewhat strained, depending on how anti-Federation they were, working relationship, trying to simply not get into arguments with them. 2. They'd probably just ignore it, being honest, seeing responding to any insults/backlash as below them, and most likely interact with the people that serve the backlash as minimalyl as possible. 3. The Odin, seeing as they are used to living for long stretches of time in space, due to the field research team undertaking a lot of their efforts with their ship as essentially their base of operations. That, and since the only reason they moved here is to pursue their research further, it's the closest to work.
  19. Jesus Christ, the length of that backstory can definitely go on some podium. I've roleplayed with Anselm's characters, FROST especially, and I do have to say that they are a solid roleplayed, and would be a great addition to our cat house. +1 from me
  20. Thanks for replying to the app so quickly. 1. - I wouldn't say that the Weilshi Sea Crisis affected them in any large way, seeing as they were born generations after it, and likely haven't met anybody directly affected by it, but that being said, they definitely don't hold any positive opinions on AI, and those would probably the one exception, to their policy of trying to work together with their co-workers. 2 - They still definitely retain their Jargon Citizenship, only leaving Jargon space, as they believe that their archeological work would best be continued in a different sector of space. 3 - Fairly positive. They believe that the Federation rightly strives to pursue the sciences, and they have not been slighted by them in any way.
  21. 101 statues as counted by Vrow, built by me in over 2 hours in a heavily feverish state.
  22. BYOND Key: Tomkiel Character Names: Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Light Blue Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: ayup Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: If I'm going to be entirely honest, it's due to how few Skrell I see, nowadays, as I always like to interact with Skrell, due to their specific blend of alien-ess, and strangeness, with their lack of visible emotions to other species often seeming, to me, at least, as a feeling of respectful supieriority above humans, and others. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: So! The main thing, I'd say, is the stark difference in how they portray their emotions, as I've already stated before. Other than that, is the Srom, and the constant, unending pressure to comform to the standards of the Federation, and how that may affect their life and development, as well as psionics in general, which may lead to some interesting roleplay scenarios with other Skrell. And they can't slip, which is cool Character Name: Xori'Videq Jiiruq Please provide a short backstory for this character: Xori was hatched on the island city of Oibush, Qerrbalak, being of Xiialt descent, and having a fruitful and happy upbringing, becoming interested in history and archeology, after visiting a nearby underwater archeological site on a class trip, leading to them eventually recieving their first college degree in Skrellian History, and their second in Linguistics. After earning their second degree, they signed up onto Videq-Volq Xiqru's field research team, focused specifically on archeological and geological research, in an attempt to find a possible precursor species, as per Videq-Volq Xiqru's hypothesis. After decades of working under Xiqru, while performing research on an asteroid, a sudden meteor storm damaged the research ship they were operating out of severely, leading to it being unable to keep up with the asteroid, and while most of the team on the ground managed to evacuate back onboard the ship, Videq-Volq Xiqru remained, choosing to transfer the extremely valuable research data to the ship, inadvertently sacrificing themselves in the pursuit of science. After this incident, due to the intense respect Xori felt towards Videq, they adopted their name, into their own. After Videq's death, their research team unfortunately splintered mainly due to disagreement between the main scientists onboard with how to continue archeological and geological work, leading to multiple leading figures in the research team leaving, making the rest of the team unable to effectively pursue research opportunities. With Xori believing that further evidence for Videq's theory of a precursor civilisation could be found in the area of at that time, the Sol Alliance and Tau Ceti, they left the team and headed for Sol, but the collapse of it lead them to eventually land a position as a xenoarcheologist in a stabler sector of space, onboard the NSS Aurora, at the age of 102 years old. What do you like about this character? Xori definitely values research, leading to a heavy no-nonsense attitude, trying to work closely together with their co-workers, as to attempt to avoid a possibly shift in relations, as hapened to the their previous team. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I've been getting a lot better over the time I've been on the server, getting from a virgin no-rp security officer, to chad multi-whitelist evil-villain monologue. So yes, I'd say 19/10, thank you very much. jk, 7/10 Notes: If you read this, you are stinky.
  23. Hey, hey! I've been asked to look over this and chip in, so here I am! Equairio is a wonderful player, I first interacted with them in the good 'ole days of the 2020 isolation, with some of their now (I'm guessing) retired characters, and when it comes to their roleplay, I've only good things to say. I've also recently interacted a bit with Rana, and from what I have seen Equairio is nothing but competent when it comes to medical, and unless they've gotten rusty, I'd say the same for engineering. In conclusion, big plus one from me!
  24. The first responder is possibly the role with the most amount of gear that they (should) carry, especially with the amount of medical items growing over the years. I think it would be beneficial, to increase the size of the medical backpack to that of a duffel bag, as the sprite for it already shows it to be quite large, it could also be neat to perhaps remove the duffel bag speed buff for it, in that case.
