1. as long as you can't be a under 18 antag, I'm fine with it. I don't wanna get killed by a 7 year old space Ninja/Wizard
2. The jetpack and leg acutors should be free, they are both very useful and needed for navigating EVA
3. I’m gonna -1 this. We already have a shit load of specific medical roles that use up the same job Slots, no need to add any more to the list.
4. I would cut some of those down, the rank below master should be to do everything like it currently is, a sin, no chance of mistake or need for additional equipment. Perhaps give the 'master' rank a small time buff or something like that.
5. Isn’t that like half the Forensic Tech's job?
6. Right so I was actually looking into this awhile ago, in regards to RAW POWER. The List, strongest to weakest went /something/ like this 1. Those goddamn G2's 2. Those Bug Workers 3. Those Bug Warriors/Unathi/G1's occupy the same space 4. Plant dudes/Vox 5. Zhan 6. Baseline IPCs 7. Humans/Remaining IPCs 6. Orange Cats/Normal Cats 7. Skrell mind you this was like, 8 months ago when I did all this research, and this could be completely wrong. But I'd totally support physical bonus such as dex, str, and int for each race.
7. Actually my thing isn’t mechanical, it’s just something on the wiki that goes Yea, you can poke someone without training.
8. Snip again! You bet ya biscuits I’ve held those weapons before, yeehaw long live the south! tips cowboy hat The south's Weapon fetish aside, I’d agree with you that spears, pikes, and other various pokey things are fair game. It might be easier to tell people what not to use then list all the things you can. Mainly most melee weapons outside of finesse weapons are great, cool, and easy to use. The number one category of weapons I believe that should be restricted are guns. Firing an average gun accurately is fucking hard. Like REALLY hard. Firing a rifle is much easier than firing a pistol. But without training or experience firing ballistic weapons should be a no-go if it can be helped. I’m unsure about energy weapons since our loredevs haven’t clarified if energy weapons have recoil or not, or some other kind of disadvantage. So we'll just lovingly page the man himself Senpai Jackboot
9. Don’t pick on drones They are just doing their job. Also, you sound pretty biased. Drones are a tool. It’s like saying, yes an axe COULD chop off a limb, we should throw off a cliff. But that same axe could’ve been used to chop a tree down or cut some firewood. A tool is what you make of it. If you see someone abusing it, ahelp.
10. We could simply say Hey without training or related work experience your characters can do these things Weapons: - Swing a blunt weapon such as a bat or stool - Use basic knives Etc. Construction: - Throw up a wooden or metal barricade. (we’ll say plasteel is a bit advanced for the non-trained) -construct tables and flip them -Weld vents and lockers Honestly a detailed ‘General Knowledge’ guide would do us a lot of good.
11. From the antag perspective and definitely the solo antag perspective, I’ve come to the conclusion that militia mobs are mega gay.
12. BYOND key: Butterrobber202 Character names: Ninja Edit: I also play Claws and White as antags. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Too long, pretty sure I’m going on 4 years now? Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I feel like a peasant. Because being a head puts you into unique role-play situations that are generally unavailable to normal jobs. Plus, there is nothing like educating a noob and seeing them get into the swing of things, Why did you come to Aurora?: because it was the only RP server that was public when I got into SS13 Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yep Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Yes, around a year or so ago I received my first ban, which was also a permaban for stabbin' an Antag as non-Sec. I’ve since calmed my validity ass down. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is and should be about: Roleplay is putting yourself into someone else’s shoes. Even if you crafted those shoes yourself. It’s immersing yourself into the universe you are playing in and taking in the lore and setting, then basing your reactions/interactions based on such Information. Finally, roleplay is about making yourself and others happy in our little fake world we’ve crafted. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Improve the atmosphere of the round and filling critical job roles when their normal occupants aren't present. It’s guiding new players and utilizing the skills of veterans to improve the station. It’s above all, serving the other players and improving their experience. You are the driving force behind the progression of the round. Your job isn't to 'win' against the antags, its to create and drive the story and plot of the current round. The antags are players too, and therefore it's your duty to provide them with at least a chance to get things off of the ground. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: As I said above, you are the driving force behind the progression of the round, and it is your duty to make sure the round is entertaining and a nice thing to take part in. Even if this means losing to the antags. A Conflict should be a struggle that produces RP, the result of the conflict doesn’t matter as long as the path to the end was engaging and fun. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau Ceti and how it affected your character and their career? In regards to the recent attack by the Lii’dra, it hasnt affected many of my characters all that severely, as I have no human characters. Only one of my Characters actually lives in Biesel, which wasn’t even the hardest hit in the attack. Mikam likley demanded a raise for working in such a ‘hazardous work environment.’ Losk Kizi simply stays on the Odin for ease of access to work, and visits Moghes every Month. So the only thing I could imagine affecting him from the attack is the fact that there is a Vaucra presence in the Unathi Home System. I don’t imagine it affecting my IPCs all that much due to the fact that they are sad wageslaves to NT at the moment. But I can say, Shusha was the most changed, I’ve tried to RP out a distrust towards non-K’lax Vaucra, but so far I haven't really had the chance to do so yet. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? CMO, HoP, and maybe HoS if I can bring myself too. Captain, once I get comfy in command again. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well-articulated responses to the following questions. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Losk Kizi - CMO Unknown Tajara Character - HoP ( needs some thought ) Eoshuge Shuhsa - HoS Unknown Human Character - Captain ( needs a lot more thought ) How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 7-8/10 I'm good, but not the next RP'ing god decended from the heavens to provide text walls to all. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yep Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yep Extra notes:
13. Weighing in, as a resident meme. 1. yes please add a real chapel, some antags are supposed to be affected by being inside one.
14. While the intent of the change was well-meaning, it would have pretty shitty effects on non-highpop players. Its simply not fair, so gonna -1
15. All the +1, for reasons above
16. Ah, you caught me while I was editing. Yeah, I’ve already corrected the personal list. The situation(s) that spawned this idea is when a member of Command decides they don’t like what the AI is doing, or they don’t like its personality and go to change it laws. It’s happened to me in the past and recent events suggest its happened to others. Basically, one of this suggestion's purposes is to give AI players IC protection from rampant Command members. Which while they can be reported, with these in place it’s much less likely for an incident to occur since the AI and the rest of Command has something to quote that is sectionalized.
17. Well, then we can simply shorten and clarify the list big cat.
18. ShameOnTurtles 1. These protocols would hopefully be added to the wiki, and I’m sure we can find a way to make them printable on Station. 2. I agree that that could be clarified and I’ll make the edit soonTM, and it was referring to both kinds of modification. 3. The objective in allowing the Captain to be able to vote twice was to get rid of ties. If the emergency has escalated to the point it’s Code Red, and the AI needs to be changed then allowing the Captain and extra vote will hopefully lead to less ties and more action. 4. How would you recommend I condense them? And now I’m being dumb, but uh, what’s a SOL?. 5. The purpose was to prevent the HoS or HoP just sprinting down to the AI core and modifying the AI without the proper skill sets. But I’m definitely willing to shorten the list since I was iffy on making it so long in the first place 6. Yeah, I’ll edit that
19. Absolutely. The lab assistant is much more likely to have atleast a basic understanding of AI Programming than a Medical Position, a paper pusher or the general administrator of the station.
20. me, a janitor on the odin, who has accidentally taken the wrong shuttle: fucking buffoon!!!!! allow me to modify this Artificial Intellgience Unit!!!!!!!! it has slighted me, and there is a Crisis! ! How would you recommend I reword it then?
21. Honesty I’d be okay with Ion Rifles if the AoE effect got removed
22. ShameOnTurtles I’ll addressyour concerns tomorrow as it is now SLEEPY TIME
23. Yeah, exactly, because you should never have reason to change the AI laws except in actual crises or events that require it. Also, why not just use 'regardless', or 'irrespective', instead? Once you get past the CE, it becomes more of a ‘you’re desperate’
24. Basically all this suggestion is, I’m trying to get these 'protocols' all stuck under the umbrella of Directive 7. The reason for this suggestion is, well, it was designed to clear up some possible misunderstandings and give guidance during unique situations without a precedent. Qualified Personal are in the spoiler, 1 being the most qualified and 4 the least. Now corrected! I’m absolutely open to changes and rewording. If you have a concern you want address please voice it, or type it in this case. Im also aware people may feel that this isn’t needed, and if it’s the majority that feels this way then so be it.
