After discussing this specific round with other staff members i have arrived at a conclusion. No punishment shall be levied against xander for his actions during this mercenary round. The whitelist overseer tishinastalker had this to say on the matter. I am in complete agreement here. It is 100% reasonable in our lore setting to not risk the lives of your crew over a toaster. We have a sever rule indicating that SOME lee way should be given to antags but i think its unreasonable to expect people to completely abandon their characters to cater to antags. Perhaps he didn't choose the most "fun" solution but in the game of roleplay things do not always go the way we want. Concerns have also been levied against xander about him micromanaging departments as the captain. Myself and tishinastalker believe there is a point to where that becomes an OOC issue. It is usually the captains prerogative though. Tish had this to say on the matter. As tish states, our wiki has a pretty robust description. I would encourage everyone to take a look at it and then decide during the round if the captain is breaching it enough to warrant an ahelp.

Dissapointing, I would have rather seen some warnings and whitelist strips gone out. Shells are neat and i think they can be made a great addition to aurora.

What you need to understand here is differing points of view and the fact that action IS roleplay. The situation from security's point of view was a hulk capable of smashing girders and fleeing from the scene after clear evidence shows they ordered you to stop. You where aimed at with a taser and YOU chose to violate it. That is literally how the mechanic works and how we operate as far as administration is concerned. Sure from your point of view you may be "non hostile" but from security's point of view you are a potential threat disobeying orders. they moved to apprehend you with non-lethals as is appropriate. I do not find Aboshehab's actions and judgement here at all an issue.

Both can become fair game as long as you ahelp and give a good reason. The engine is the primary power source for the station and messing with it without a good reason can quickly make the round super awful for all involved. Escape is where everyone congregates at the end of the round to board the shuttle. Messing with this area "just because" is usually just bad form. Its not impossible to justify taking it out however, and in fact you can even bomb it while its full of people provided you have done some nefariousness during the round to justify it. In the past we have let traitors and nuke ops alike bomb the transfer shuttle after threatening multiple times it will be bombed. Each case can be a little different and there isnt any set criteria. your best bet is to ahelp and ask.

i will ask you the same things that have been brought up to you before. you where originally banned permanently for a lengthy history of bad roleplay. Due to some database voodoo the ban didnt stick on you and you where able to continually log back into the server. Alberyk managed to catch you most of the time and add another permaban. Why did you keep coming back to a place you know you're supposed to be banned from? Why should we unban someone who abused a database error?

I have always thought that people who play synths as metal humans are really missing an opportunity. I like synths and IPC best when they are similar to data from star trek. even if you're a human brain in an MMI i think you should lose something in the transition from flesh to mostly all metal. like always having your emotions at arms length and becoming detached from them. Regardless munchy seems pretty open to feedback and as a current mod under my team i would ask for all of your patience. I am sure hes not going to force arbitrary changes that will annihilate all of your synth characters.

Someone who makes a moderator application despite their own history is pretty ballsy. Violating the most basic tenet of "dont be a dick" after said application is denied probably makes a list somewhere of "things you probably shouldn't do". You have a complaint directed against you, i dont care how salty the OP may or may not be. You are expected to act with some semblance of human decency. I was debriefed on this situation by the staff member who placed the note on your account. At the time i agreed with the decision. your poor security roleplay and indeed your bad attitude in general seemed to have been long enough ago that we could just give you a warning and be done with it. Your replies to this topic have banished any benefit we had afforded you. You went straight for the trash talk instead of "hey lets have a reasonable conversation about why i did what i did. I will be elevating this to a one week ban from all security roles.

Adding a flag for an entire race is probably the easiest solution to IPCs. Does anyone have any non-ipc character that needs to regularly change their name? As far as i am aware there isnt a justified lore reason like different IPC models.

I see a lot of bad attitudes in those screenshots to be honest, dunno if hunter is one of them. Calling a CT vote is not an issue. I do not feel this complaint has much to it.

Your responses here just do not convince the staff that your behavior has changed.
