  1. I am willing to unban you before your ban expires. The issue with the entire incident in general is that to us it appeared as if you were just being another shitter who went up to someone after they did something minor to you, attempting to kill them. You may have ahelped before doing something which means that you knew what you were doing was risky, but if you don't get a response from an admin when you ask them to do something, it doesn't mean that you can go do it anyway. If you were seriously wondering about escalating the incident and you didn't get a response from the admins, you should wait a minute or so and then ahelp again. There are times during rounds where we are overloaded with multiple ahelps at once and may have missed yours. The reason that I banned you though was because you had multiple incidents in the recent past of having improper escalation or just generally bad roleplay. As long as you've read over the rules and realize that things don't always need to escalate to the point where people have a good chance of dying, I can lift the ban.
  2. That would add a nice touch, I like it.
  3. I've interacted with Sean Brianne multiple times in the past and support the whitelist. He's a good officer and follows corporate regulations well enough. +1
  4. I purposefully let this sit for some time before I replied to see Xander get brought back into the sever and to see how he performed in interim Head of Staff roles again. I've seen him perform well as both an Interim Head of Security and Interim Chief Medical Officer and would definitely like to see Vivian Rival as a CMO. He was competent in the past and as long as he can control himself, I expect that he would be able to handle it again. +1
  5. Reporting Personnel: Valorallen Vitellia Rank of Reporting Personnel: Head of Personnel Game ID: bPa-dlvR Personnel Involved: - Girard Smark, Scientist: Witness (Moom241) - Hannah Blackwell, Drill Technician: Victim (mcspizzy) - Dragan Grgurovic, Medical Doctor: Offender (banjaluka) - Raymond Hawkins, Captain: Witness (Aboshehab) - Viktor Komministov Chief Medical Officer: Witness (Jkol591) Time of Incident: 11:30 27/06/2459 Real time: Around 0030 GMT 28/06/17 (I hope that is right. It happened at like 8:30ish EST) Location of Incident: Operating Room 1, NSS Exodus Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault []Misconduct [x]Other Medical Malpractice Overview of the Incident: Ms. Hannah Blackwell, Drill Technician lost a hand during her time working out on the Mining Outpost. She received a prosthetic hand from Robotics to bring to Medical so she could have it replaced. Dr. Dragan Grgurovic was the assigned Medical Doctor to perform the hand replacement surgery. During this surgery, Dr. Grgurovic amputated the entire arm claiming that it was easier that way instead of just amputating the leftovers of the hand to replace with a full prosthetic, which was what Ms. Blackwell wanted. Mr. Smark reported this incident to me as he was witness to it occurring within the Medical Bay. He confronted Dr. Grgurovic in which Dr. Grgurovic stated that it was simply easier and showed no remorse for removing Ms. Blackwell's entire arm. After Mr. Smark reported this incident to me, I reported it to Captain Raymond Hawkins and Chief Medical Officer Viktor Komministov. I requested to perform an immediate suspension of Dr. Grgurovic for this severe medical malpractice, along with reporting this to the Central Command Internal Affairs Bureau for further investigation into the reliability of Dr. Grgurovic and the possible revokation of his Medical License. This sort of behavior should not be allowed by the NanoTrasen Corporate Conglomerate and I feel that this sort of purposeful malpractice should be dealt with at the highest severity, thank you for your time. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Mr. Smark reported the incident to me in which I investigated and reported it to Captain Hawkins and Dr. Komministov, but by that time, Dr. Grgurovic had already gone to cryogenic storage so we could not go for an immediate suspension. Actions taken: None during the shift as Dr. Grgurovic went to cryogenic storage shortly after the incident occurred. Additional notes: I find this gross negligence to be unacceptable and do not think that this sort of purposeful malpractice should go unpunished. It is doctors like him that give the Medical Department a bad name.
  6. Alright well, you were banned back in the beginning of May and it seems that you've learned from this. I don't see an issue with unbanning you. Appeal accepted
  7. Yes, this actually sounds amazing. I really support this.
  8. Was this just left to die because I really liked the idea of having multiple Human languages. Especially since we are seeing a rise in other species having multiple languages.
  9. While I understand that people come to the server to take off some steam, you are still expected to follow the rules of the server. You've been spoken to in the past about different incidents of breaking the rules and every time moderators have recorded that you were to reread the rules. This case was an extreme one as you attacked and killed the HoP with no provocation. You were a Janitor. You are expected to listen to the orders of your superior. No sane character would show such excessive escalation of a small incident. Because this is not the first time you've gone against the core parts of our server's rules, I will be leaving the ban in place. If you feel that you are too stressed to play the game in the future, simply go to cryo and get some rest. If another incident occurs like this in the future, you will receive a harsher punishment.
  10. Hmm... I was honestly going to reply to this without reading the dates. I eventually realized that most of these people aren't even here anymore. But honestly, I like all of these except that glowing drug stuff, if people are still interested in adding them. We can just put some Latin words in there and add some fancy endings. There ya go.
  11. Okay. You claim time and time again that Edgar is the person who wants to get stuff done yet whenever I see him ICly, he doesn't seem very serious about his job or what he is doing. He does seem like one of those characters that wouldn't be leading a department. At this point, am not supporting this application if you are going to have Edgar as a RD. New ideas are needed. And I question that length of the roleplay that you've tried with new characters. Start fresh, purely play that character for like a week or so, if they are good, people will start to notice. When I first started with Auralia, she was a throwaway character because I wanted to see how a lighter skinned white Skrell would look. I just so happened to play her time and time again for a while and people started recognizing her and appreciating (or not) the roleplay that went on. Now she is one of my more recognizable characters. I say that you should start fresh with a brand new character, not throw out that it is you and just roleplay. Maybe for a week. Keep playing as that character, develop their story, where they are from, their family, how they think, what their opinions on random shit are. Once you start thinking about how they would think, your ability to roleplay will improve drastically. You should get in the mindset that your character is a real person and do things that a real person would do. You just need to put in the time and effort, it'll come eventually.
  12. Alright, I just so happen to be utter shit in Unathi lore even though I somehow managed to get a whitelist. But besides that, Abosh is a p good roleplaer. I enjoy a lot of his characters and he could definitely handle an Unathi Whitelist. He seems to understand the Unathi lore but there are some points that could be fleshed out a little bit more. I feel that he will be able to bring in bits of the lore into his roleplay in a good way. Giving this a +1.
  13. Just going to point this out, having older characters definitely does not mean that they do not talk a lot. It may even be in your best interest to make an older, more mature character that is there to get the business done and doesn't goof off all the time. That would help you get your application through. Based off of the amount of times that you were denied, I feel that a good portion of the community would not like to see Edgar Dawnguard as a head of staff. And out of all of these "new" characters. I've seen Athena more in the recent days and I've seen Tribune maaaybe one or two times. The other characters on that list, I have not seen whatsoever and I feel that you are just making characters to add to your list of names to say that you've made more. You really should expand your horizons from just purely focusing on Dawnguard. Try other departments, maybe those that interact with much more of the crew more often. Try being a bartender or a chef. RP will come to you then if you feel that no one wants to RP with your characters. This is a process that will take time and effort on your part to prove to the community that you've crafted a character that is good enough to be a head of staff.
  14. I know one time back when I was CCIA of Bullshit, I went wild with a gib stamp. Those are pretty fun. There was much blood shed on Odin that day.
  15. Bureaucratic Magic. But if this will be a serious thing maybe it can just be a tool or something that signals for doors to bolt or not. [Editing out me being dumb]

    I Fucked Up

Wasn't that Delta? bless. Yes, it was when I think Vira was a Scientist iirc??
  17. Well, it'd help if someone responded with saying "Ay, you aren't getting this" or "Alright" so far it has just been silence except for being told, "It will make the position healthier" without making any points. Stuff like this should be put to a vote before we do it tbh because the majority of people who posted their thoughts were against it.
  18. Another bump. I don't want this to get forgotten.
  19. Bump.
  20. Unless a lore person wants to come in and correct me, the Sol Alliance is far from a singular entity. While it is technically all under the main government based on Unity Station iirc, it is made up of many colonies all colonized by different types of people. So there is quite a high chance that over time unique languages and cultures would develop. Remember, there are tons of colonies in the Sol Alliance. They are more independent and ruling themselves than you give credit for, there name is "Alliance of Sovereign Solarian States" after all. Now to get to Mun. I quite like the idea of this, it really helps show the diversity that there is between Humans. And really, adding languages won't cut down the amount of speakers, if anything I think that it'd bring more speakers to use the new unique languages. Sol Common is one of those boring things that not many people use and I have characters that are Human and don't even speak it because they were born in linguistically unique areas of the galaxy. I truly feel that it would give a little more life to Humans because frankly, they are quite boring. Adding this diversity is a nice touch. This is also in the Lore Canonization area so I'll address that. I think that it fits well because it is realistic that languages will develop and evolve over time. Sol Common wasn't really a constructed language, at least from what I can tell. It seems to be more of one of things that evolved over time to make it easier to communicate between people. It does make sense that there would be different split of languages or that older Human languages evolved over time as many different nations sort of just rushed to the stars to colonize right when they could and brought their cultural identities with them. It is safe to say that many different languages evolved over time and that SC-A, B and C are just the major three. Also, I think they could use with a better naming scheme besides just A, B and C. I feel like those may be placeholder, not sure if you addressed that.
  21. Well, if that is the sticking point, it doesn't need to be dealt with by the CCIA. If people are abusing their position, a head whitelist strip could be in order. "Easy to get, easy to lose"
  22. Apparently I should make a suggestion instead of continuing posting on the Head of Staff forum. If you aren't whitelisted, basically what the Captain or No Captain rule is, is that if you are Captain, it is assumed that you have access to more knowledge and it is a direct promotion from any Head of Staff role so it isn't logical to be a Captain and Head of Staff on different shifts. I think this is a very pointless rule. If we are going to apply this for Head of Staff being promoted to Captain. Why don't we do this for all departments then? If you are a CMO I guess you can't be anything else in Medical. See, it is dumb. I have multiple characters who specialize in a certain Head of Staff role but are also a Captain because they are skilled in that as well. Valorallen Vitellia for example. He started off in Medical and then worked his way up to CMO and got an education on the administrative sides of things so now mains Head of Personnel and Captain. Is there such an issue for that? And with Skrellian characters, they've had a much longer time to gain experience. There is definitely a good chance once you start getting up there in Skrell age you're going to see characters that have multiple skills. So, I have characters that are CMOs or RDs and then are also Captains because they've been with NanoTrasen for ages and are trusted. It just limits characters I think and I don't like the idea of people saying, "Oh it is unrealistic for characters to go back to lower jobs once they've recieved a promotion" I understand we are going for realism and yeah, if this was super realistic no one would be anything except one job. But that wouldn't be that much fun which is why we allow minor changes. Also want to address the point of Captains having access to lots of information no one else has. There are Loyalty Implants for a reason. A Captain won't just randomly reveal company secrets if he is in another position. If they are, we can deal with that on a case by case thing because I can pretty much say with full certainty that most of our playerbase would not do that. I would just like other people to post their thoughts on this change because I find it being incredibly illogical to just push this on the players.
  23. Alright hi, banning staff member here. You were given a ban due to the fact that you were breaking the door. Normally, you stop what you're doing once PM'd by a staff member questioning your behavior. It is true that you were continuing to hit the door up to the point where we needed to wind you for you to stop. Based purely on the fact that this was End of Round grief, you were banned. I asked if you read the rules because it is directly stated there. But since this is your first time and I can see where there was slight miscommunication looking over the PMs, I'll unban you. I don't want to see you doing this again or there will be a more severe punishment now that you are aware of what you've done wrong. Also, This is a no. At the end of round just ghost if you want to explore somewhere. The staff are trying to get the round finished up and onto the next one. Random attack logs don't help the situation.
  24. Please use this format when appealing a ban. http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=15
  25. I could pick apart every little piece of your original application but I think Mofo and Loow have more than covered that. I'm going to just focus on your three short story things which I think were actually a good read. The first part, you were describing Aveo and Kluup. I really like how you showed the difference in Skrell society, at least at that time. There were those rugged resistance fighters who saw some shit in their lives and risked everything and then there is Aveo, the sheltered Skrell who didn't experience nearly as much distress. That still is a thing current day in Skrellian society. Granted the Skrell that lived through the Glorsh Rebellion are getting fairly high up there in age but there is the noticeable divide, at least in my interpretation. I expect you would roleplay this amazingly, honestly. Assuming Aveo gets accepted, I would like to see how he interacts with the older Skrell that actually remember the old Federation before the Glorsh Rebellion. I actually really like that description of Kluup. It really highlights the differences between Kluup and Aveo. The part about the hydraulic supports actually makes sense to me even though I never thought of it that way, it would take quite a bit of effort to get used to things like that, especially at an older age. Once again shows the issues with his body failing him over time. I honestly think that was amazingly written. It really shows how much has changed over the 80 years since Aveo last saw his parents. I think that it actually really shows how much Aveo's parents were obsessed with Glorsh. It was like they worshipped him really. The sense that Aveo's parents felt betrayed seems fairly well portraied, he left them when he was young and returned a different person. After just reading this part so far, I am left wondering what led Aveo to decide to visit his parents after 80 years of not seeing them? Was there something in his life that happened? Did someone push him to do that? I think that this part, even if it wasn't absolutely necessary, definitely helped convey what Aveo was thinking, how he got to where he was. I like that it really fleshed out and showed us how he thinks and his logic behind things. I really enjoyed reading that part. Overall, this was amazingly written. Much better than I could've hoped to do. Just going to say that I'm lucky that I got the whitelist when I did because Loow is very thorough which is a good thing I feel. I like Kluup, he is surprisingly accepting and still all around good even with all he went through. Aveo is lucky that Kluup was so accepting to his background and treated him the way he did. Alright. On to short story number 2! This really shows the relationship between Aveo and Kluup. They both want the best for each other and share a great respect. I like that you added that bit about the pools because you know that all Skrell need pools. I just would want to know since I probably missed it somewhere. Is the pool supposed to be some sort of therapy for Kluup because of his legs? If so, I really like that and would the therapy be meant to help Kluup be able to walk much easier on dry land? Again, really defining the difference between the two. Fleshes out the characters. Makes note of the distrust of synthetics on Kluup's part. Correct me if I am wrong but it doesn't seem like Kluup has a "hatred" for synthetics, more like a distrust/fear of their power. That is a very interesting take on it. Kluup is mostly concerned about Aveo's wellbeing in this. Yes. Very much yes. I find this part amazing in displaying the distrust of the other Skrell towards Aveo. This is definitely something that feel would happen. Aveo is from one of those hated families and could easily be a secret synth lover. There will always be that one person to antagonize him on it as well. But it also does show how there are other Skrell that can look past that and actually show favor towards Aveo. Overall, great piece. I am actually pretty tired when writing this so I'm probably not going to get to the other short stories. All of this work put in really shows the Skrellian dedicaiton. I officially give this a +1 and I will hopefully get to the other posts later on.
