BurgerBB's Developer Application
UnknownMurder replied to BurgerBB's topic in Developer Applications Archives
While this is a feedback, I want to say this here while I have your attention. This is not an acceptable answer and gives us the wrong impression. The impression I see is that you are trying to steer around a barrier and not tackle it by outright ignoring people because they are not the "voice" is never a good answer. In other words, you are cutting other people and attempting to shut down a conversation so you can have it your way. It makes me want to get on the bandwagon and -1 your application without reading the whole thread because you closed off people's communication. No one likes having their say thrown out of the window. I know for a fact that United States of America's Constitution regarding free of speech do not apply to Aurora Station although everyone has the privilege to say how they feel about the topic. I know you mean well and trying to be supportive for the community but you have to be careful for what you say as a staff member/developer. You can go nuts for all I care on discord or shittposting thread but keep in mind what happened between you and Jackboot, that was the turning point of your last application progress. Moving on, from a business perspective, the server is a business. The players are the cash flow. Ideas/Pull Requests, Projects are the products of the business. If players likes the product, they will go to the business and buy them. If they do not like it, they do not go to the business and buy them. They'd rather go to a different business and buy their stuff. It's a pretty simple marketing strategy. Polls do not provide freeform communication rather are more susceptible to sampling bias depending on what the question is asking and the answers available selected below than forums. Oh yes, there will be people being picky for whatever reasons they bring up in the future. I want to be honest and direct with you to improve on your developer application, your communication with the community is far too aggressive. You should at least talk with some of strong known community members (Schev, Amory, Trazz, Alberyk, Jackboot, Menown, Chada, Doxx, Synnono, Skull, Aboshehab, Garn, Arrow, and so many more), get their opinions on the matter. You could also look at the suggestion and see what players truly want. I hope my feedback has been very constructive, understanding, and is neutral. EDIT: Perhaps you can restart and provide us the impression you were intending on to make to us? -
I see we have another Fox. Hello. Did you know that a cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal?

+1 I want something Poly to be able mimic character's sentence through RP. Like Poly from Ace Attorney. That could be something unique about Poly.

I have gotten a short taste of "Doxx Me Dearly" playing as a head whitelist. The way she plays is much smoothly and very respectful to other people's RP. There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who plays head whitelist well... and those who don't. No matter how hard a lowly human tries, they will never be the same as someone who was RP worthy... They're just born with their RP talent right from the start. That's right...just like you. That's why I have so much respect for you all. Ah, just so you know, what I feel is different from admiration. Admiration is wishing you could be like the object of your admiration. But what I feel is not so self-serving. How should I put it? What I feel is more pure. More like a selfless love that wants nothing in return. +1 Isn't that right, Hajime!?

[Retracted] DasFox's CCIA Application
UnknownMurder replied to TheSleepyCatmom's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
I'm afraid I have to support Gollee's response in further updates of your actions. I have increasingly become cautious after reading through (ignoring Amory and Schev's lengthy response to get to the summarized response) QueenOfYugoslavia and Garn's response and verdict toward to you. Instead of changing for the better, you have changed for the worse. I have no idea what to say but except to support Gollee's response. -

[2; 26/SEP/2018] Bin Family visitation time!
UnknownMurder replied to Pratepresidenten's topic in Archive
I support the idea of having children on a Space Station as if it's like Star Trek: The Next Generation. Also, I would like for the suggestion to be emphasized on Butterrobber's point. I don't want to see a 7 year old antagonist being able to outsmart an adult and killing everyone. Though, it would be interesting enough to see what an adult can do to children aside from being Anakin Skywalker in Revenge of the Sith. For one not fucked up gimmick, an antag adult can tell a child to shoot the "toy gun" at their parents for the sake of creating a conflict. -
I see no one's going to say a thing... The Otaku Alliance of Aurora Community recognizes their brethren Arrow768 as the Head Developer of Aurora Station.

I use a specific pen for everything. What specific pen? I use a ballpoint pen that is 0.7 mm and is retractable. I often dislike to use other writing utensils other than said pen and certain mechanical pencils. If you use this, you should feel bad for yourself and find better ones.

[Retracted] DasFox's CCIA Application
UnknownMurder replied to TheSleepyCatmom's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
This post will be very short, clear, concise, and right to the point as I have real life business that limits my free activity although I have this free amount of time to post. I apologize if I may be incredibly blunt on some areas. Your age piques my head, it came off as astonishing to me. It never came to my mind you were that old, DasFox-san. Your activity player levels on Aurora Station are somewhat sufficient although you tell us that you've been playing these game since 2004 or 2011. I'm now reviewing your BYOND key. This tells you have joined BYOND (playing masterpiece Hazordhu) on Jun 2, 2017 AKA last year. Of course, people can doubt you for this credible source. You did not answer activity level and banned questions completely. We can find out your activity level regardless although we don't mean banned from other servers, we mean specifically here but thank you for sharing that. Your presence and conduct on other servers will not go under heavy evaluation or affect your standing in anyways. We have a line that we (CCIA team) shan't cross. Your motiviation to work for CCIA is incredibly lacking as you seem the kind of a person who would work for a short amount of time. I understand you want something to do, we all want something to do rather sitting around and playing games. Your perspective on stress is an interesting unique answer. I think I'm starting to like you for this. As for the autonomously question, you will be tested on this. If you have any questions. Please feel free to ping me, Synnono, or any other CCIAA staffs here (forums) or discord privately. If you want to ask me questions, I will do my best to answer them to my best extent and depending on my schedule, you will have to be patient with me. Enjoy your day! -
I do agree with Jackboot, House of Synth, and ironically Coalf's points. Also, >lunchboxes are metagaming. Well shit, I guess I'm metagaming in real world, guess I'll be banned from real world and find a different server. I typically have my lunch on HIIIIIGH NOON. It'd be exaggeration to pin it on powergaming as well. I dunno about you, Burger. Where and how do you eat your lunch? -1

Attention entire community! Hear my proclamation. I am UnknownMurder... The "Otaku" of Aurora Station. We need to be recognized as part of the community! I propose a new channel discord... #anime channel added to Aurora Station's discord server. That's right. #anime channel for those non-weebs who do not want to see #anime on #general discord. I will post anime stuff and engage in anime activities without upsetting people. This is only a simple suggestion in which does not affect the tide of gameplay. This is also a mere suggestion that can be done in two clicks. This should not at least offend anyone in a way.

[Denied] Kramperino's CCIA Staff Application
UnknownMurder replied to Krampus's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Since no one is going to respond for the last 10 days, I'll respond. This is the only thing I'm concerned about on your application. You may have to be more active than that. I've hardly seen you sometimes on server perhaps it's probably because of our time zones. Your time zone in which you live in Australia is a bonus for us. As for your interviews, I am mildly with your stances on many things. I even like your perspective on "What do you believe is the purpose of the Incident Report system?" better than what we usually say to players. One thing that I noticed is something that we can coordinate on together as a team is your answer to "You are playing in the round as the Captain. After a heated argument with your Chief Engineer, Central receives a fax from the CE asking CCIA to intervene in the dispute on her behalf. You are the only CCIA staff member available. How do you respond, and why?" Typically, we don't touch things that we are directly involved in and try our best to ping them via CCIAA discord to make an effort for someone else whether it be an admin liaison, moderator liaison, or other CCIAAs members. They are typically available when you ping and mention it is urgent because you are unable to respond due to you being involved. Other than this, everything appears to be good. Regarding the last questions, I want to make this very clear for all of us. We will not make decisions based on your history or dramas on different servers nor will we ever judge you for what you did on other servers unless you made a public scandal and/or a griefer which I know you didn't. My situation is similar to you. Whatever this is, it's all in the past. We have future to look forward to. -
This is going to be a small and short suggestion. I'd like to propose to add catwalks to each department ceilings (construction level Z) like how it's done for medical bay lobby. It can create a new breed of stealth for those people who wants to escape without getting caught or hide. Alternatively, it is another way for certain antagonists to gather and meet up if done right.

Doxxmedearly aka Junko Enoshima or "DDOS ME DEARLY" is a player that will take roleplay in mind while thinking of consequences that may bring to the round. If it has negative consequences, Doxx will not do it but should it be a positive consequences and make the round thrills chills kills. Should Doxx make a mistake, Doxx is willingly to accept mistakes and improve through Analytical Prowess. Why haven't you applied to be a despairing Head of Staff? Memes aside. I have had the opportunity to interact with her characters, unlike some others players, her characters have maintained in character and would act like as they should ICly without pouring some OOC rage or other feels into it. I am verily sure that everyone's interests have been piqued. I trust Doxxmedearly as a player who shares the same goals in mind to be able to obtain this whitelist. +1

I've been ask to post my thoughts on this by Jackboot and so I shall. I personally agree with Jackboot in this. Sometimes, I see Head of Security, Security, or Captain trying to pull off WW2 SHHHHH Propaganda. Sometimes, it's just to clear the public communciation so everyone could quit cussing each other out and clogging up the public communications (why do you even do this at a workplace). No one wants to see that in middle of an emergency so I respect that. Although, Security bunking up together and telling or preventing other people not to be involved is just... Meh. That's when I sort of got bored and unhappy with other security members trying to tell people what to do when they should not be doing all the time. What is even more infuriating is Security not wanting to arrest each other because they have higher priorities at the moment even though a security member made a petty infraction overlooked by many security members but suppose a non-security member does it, it won't be overlooked by many members. There are higher chances that you'll get brigged as a non-security member than being a security member. If this behavior continues more, more people are going to start suggesting something to be done to security members or security whitelists be applied on them. This is my just my thoughts and I understand not many people may share the same thoughts as I do, Security really have changed from being fun to no fun in less than two years. I miss the Alexis Sutton (whiterabit), Dylan Wright (SirCatnip), and Alex Graves (me) in 2016 through 2017 security gang, they would contribute to FUN RP than NO FUN but times had to change fast.

[Denied] LordPwner's CCIA Application
UnknownMurder replied to LordPwner's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
I've known you for about one and a three-fourth years and I've seen you appearing and making players their day. I know you're hiding your potential to be the best you can be. I'm going to draw your potential out right here, right now. Judging from this applicant, I can say one thing that divides Synnono, myself, Mofo, and JMJ from the other CCIAAs (for time being). LordPwner is most likely going for part time CCIAA position and part time CCIAA positions do not last very long however they can spend their time contributing their best to us. Currently, we do not need a dire assistance. Granted, LordPwner is barely scratching through surface of "need-to-know-CCIAA" and gets a C- as a passing grade from me. This is the same for all of us when we first applied for CCIAA/DO. Everyone will stay, but they will eventually have to go for many different reasons. It's undeniably continuous behavior of Internet communities. I hate to break the news to you, CCIAAs do not stay up to date on each lore of species but we do have a general idea of how we should interact with different species including humans. I believe the reason you are under impression of CCIAAs and said that we are held to higher expectation than than any other staff groups thus we must have to know almost everything. Unless, I am wrong and you were following down a different thought process of how you truly viewed CCIAAs?. As for the CCIAAs controlling the round, I believe you were seeing us from a point of view that we're telling you to do A., B., C., before you can do D. We only tell people to do A. and leave the rest to them because some are already covered in directives. We want to allow people to have independent actions in how they want their RP to go in a specific direction. I noticed that he supports RP whether it be or antagonist or non-antag approach; I do appreciate seeing people saying that CCIAA were there to push RP for people, that does bring a smile on my face. -
Kryostro Player Complaint
UnknownMurder replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I'm not sure how Shane would have taken down a changeling whom have murdered at least 5 people including the Head of Security who had been immediately been decapitated in one swipe and death of Emergency Response Team Leader. To exaggerate further, this changeling alone wiped out the entire security department. These deaths should alone prove that the changeling is a force not to be reckoned with by a mere janitor. However, janitor's intervention was not necessarily needed, Emergency Response Team Specialist Member's line of sight was immediately cut off by the janitor nor does it makes sense. There was only one route into the emergency shuttle bridge as the Research Director welded the other two doors that led into the bridge. Only accessible areas was a three way door between Departures, Bridge, and General Emergency Shuttle sitting area. -
BYOND Key: UnknownMurder Game ID: bVq-aWCL Player Byond Key: Kryostro Staff involved: Garnascus Reason for complaint: I'm going to keep it simple. From what I was observing. While on the Emergency Shuttle. The Research Director Ob-servo played by trazz666 and Changeling played by Kyres1 were just having a conversation in the bridge but the suddenly! ERT S/Tpr. Vasilli played by ReadThisNamePlz appears and fires at changeling! Fortunately, the changeling dodged and returned fire! The director backed up away from the fight. The Chief Engineer holding a spear and keeping the door open for ERT to perform a tactical retreat. But things went wrong in here, the janitor Shane appears and walks through the door. Stepping into wave of bullets between Ling and ERT. They couldn't do much shooting now that Shane got in their way. Ling went in for melee as so did ERT, Shane gets out injured. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes. After speaking to Garn a little more, Garn confused it for "Shane, Chief Engineer" which was my fault. I meant to type Shane and Chief Engineer. Evidence: Both of these were Shane suddenly getting in the crossfire and being a hinder to both. This behavior alone violates (or can violate) several rules "You must maintain character at ALL TIMES", "Avoid pain", "Generally, avoid playing hero", "Additionally, keep your character's goals in mind". Approximate Date/Time: 1:45-ish PM CST

For a person who kept quiet for the last four months, you sure have done your research. Commendable.

I was just on a different server for a bit and noticed they had an interesting checker boardgame system which was pretty fascinating to observe. For a moment, I thought to myself. Why not suggest to add a chess boardgame to this server? It can be either on an arcade machine, laptop, or a physical boardgame. Though, I recommend chess being on the laptop to further Arrow's IT Project. I feel this can contribute to antagonist RP in many ways, although I will provide two good ways. It can be a cliche of an innocent person playing chess with an evil antagonist mastermind as a gamble like Sherlock Holmes, ransom with station as in "If you want see your precious Head of Personnel alive, you will have to beat me in chess!!!". What says you? I went ahead and took a look at a OOP Programming. It's possible with Java but I'm unsure with BYOND.

As a CCIAA staff, I was involved in this round. Yes, I was interviewing Jawdat which lasted about approximately 20-30 minutes in middle of the round out of Jawdat's time. Before he left to the interview, he had appointed a "Deputy Head of Personnel" to cover his duty and to ensure his little rap battle something is completed. I can't say what the Deputy Head of Personnel did throughout the round. Despite my instructions telling him not to do so, Jawdat was on his PDA through the whole interview. The moment Jawdat had left the interview, he apparently knows what was going on. In middle of another applicant's interview, I had to step back for a second and radio Head of Personnel to try to get a control of the situation. He said something like "the crew is upset and angry" meaning he was not able to get a control of the situation. Where was he during this time, I do not know. Because the Head of Personnel was not able to get a control of the situation, I had to scold the general crew screaming on the comms for about 2-3 minutes for insulting their command staffs. When I stated if they do understand, was the first to say IPC Mix said yes followed by others. Afterward, I left the situation in Command's hands. Do I blame the Head of Personnel for this? No. From what I've seen and heard, the crew were too riled up to be told to calm down and work with command staffs provided insults throwing around.
