1. Then, I don't want this.
2. I like mine being across screen so I can proofread and edit where I typed wrong across the big words. I'm all bark but no bite through RP. Please have this as an option.
3. If you're worried by moderator breathing over your neck. You're better off telling engineers or Chief Engineer to deactivate it through the Drone Fabrication Console, beating drones with a crowbar can also be seem immersion breaking... But hey, I agree with you on your second paragraph! Painting do fall under station modification and is hard to "scrub out" because it's paint. Also, if Engineer paints and starts drawing a pink dick in medical bay lobby, an appropriate charge is to charge hooliganism on the engineer because it is considered degrading activity. If the Chief Engineer supports this modification, might want to see to it being overridden by Captain. Paperwork is your best friend and worst enemy. Otherwise... I dunno what to say. I think we should trust our Command Staffs not to let this happen as they're a role model for all the players in sake of roleplay.
4. FML Vincent LeChiffre is not on the Hall of Fame and went down as a villain for attempting to take the evidence to police and was fooled by switcharoo.
5. I'm going to skip over basic information. That's not my concern. I'm more concerned more toward to "how well can you work in a team". Oh, by the way. That wasn't a complaint, that was a second chance for you. Now that I've given you a second chance, I'm not going to let you off that easy instead I'm going to play devil's advocate to see if you know basic foundation of CCIAA. I just now noticed one glaring mistake on your thread title shining out to all of us, Re: ben10083's CCIA Moderator. We are not moderators, just keep that in mind. From what I understand from this, you want to find ways of how you want to be involved in assisting the community. I applaud you for making reasonable efforts to find different ways to contribute to the community. Though, Central Command Internal Affairs Agent means that you are becoming a staff member. However, Eve brought up something interesting and understand that it wouldn't make sense for a staff member to hold tons of notes and were banned recently. Many players were prevented from becoming a staff due to this. What are your thoughts on that? What would you do if we decide to reject this application due to this reason? You are not required to have high RP skills to investigate Incident Report. You are right, there are many qualities for CCIA to truly succeed. I feel as this is becoming common keywords (be unbiased, calm, not be stressed, be independent, know regulation/directives) for important qualities for a CCIA to possess across many applications. Do you think you can come up more unique ones from your mind that are not on applications? We have a fancy machine to send out Centcom notices regarding directives and another information. You are correct, CCIAA are tasked with making a response in a realistic and appropriate manner, but not all responses are required. CCIAAs are indeed required to sit in the sidelines and arrive when they are interviewing other people. I want to quiz you on this, what are possible situations is a CCIAA allowed to board the station? When you say "CCIA Agents are responsible to be active on the forums and help make policy suggestions into the game if they have enough merit", what did you mean by this? Yes, the basic process of an incident report is correct. There are little more details between the cracks but I don't need to quiz you on this because it's a bureaucracy red tapes thing. Putting aside the work load, I noticed that you tried to avoid social interactions in your answer. Suppose if we hire you, how would you behave yourself in general? You can start off with explaining how you think you behave in discord with other players and how you hope to learn and overcome the behavior? I know basic sociology that it is hard to change habits and the way you are not implying you're a malicious/ill-mannered person. Taking a breather and asking people for assistance is a bonus point from me but your next sentence fragment is an eyebrow raising for me. How will you cool off? Will you abandon the task, push the task on others, seek for advice, wait for the right timing, seek for more assistance, etc.? When you work alone as a CCIAA, you start having the hook of the habit and come to an realization of how you will do your job. The job is very repetitive and many CCIAAs that resigns usually gets bored of it, not wanting to do more of their job, or just stressed with real life business. Though, you will be trained and have the same respect as any other CCIAAs even at a trial status. How long do you think you can stay on? Contact me on discord once you've done so and in time, I will read it over, take it to CCIAA members, and discuss it.
6. I have recently gotten into an interesting personal conversation with PoZe and Lohikar last night. I can say for sure when it comes to discussing computer science, PoZe knows what he is talking about. To be honest, he appears to be the interesting kind of a person to discuss programming with. I'm alright with having PoZe as an official coder.
7. You want basis? I got basis. I will only make mention of one round I wasn't very happy with Carmichael's actions. Admittedly, I wasn't in the stated round however this is very relevant to your behavior as Daniel Carmichael. There was this round 1-2 days ago in which I will be presenting as a whole evidence for making this post (Game ID: bVg-axe8) where I was Head of Security Drake Bond as Officer Daniel Carmichael. I am going to snip your character behavior as you mentioned, ReadThisNamePlz was the investigator of the adminhelp that I had adminhelped on Daniel Carmichael. However, it was "IC Action" and no further explanation were provided. I did not want to doubt the investigator's decision because I had trusted the investigator so I decided to keep quiet until Xor posted this character complaint which shows that this Carmichael's common behavior. Yes. This round alone is a proof. A proof that you went against my orders and attacked an antagonist in which the antagonist went full destruction on the station furthering you have failed to do your duties as a Security Officer. I don't know why the antagonist here was punished but not you. People were injured because of Carmichael's actions, Head of Security Drake Bond almost nearly popped his lung over this because he was close to the breach while saving a person while you didn't care. This is the attitude I don't like seeing nowadays. Why do you think you're having a player complaint now with including four people (including myself) pointing fingers at you? This is a lie. You screamed over the security channel and face to face with other officers and attempted to order security officers to seize the wizard's staff in a presence of a Head of Security who tried to coax the wizard to calm down and discuss. I've seen you using vulgarities when you're not an antagonist, confronting an antagonist, or confronting a non-antagonist. Stress is not a good reason. I've been playing Security for like two years on and off. I've seen some good and bad officers come and go. I bet you're gonna say it doesn't mean a thing, right? You shouldn't always be focused on killing antagonists as Security Officer, that is not the very basic foundation of a Security Officer. The foundation is to be protecting the crew now I know that means you'll have to out your way to find and deal with the antagonist. From what I've seen, you're always trying to chase after the antagonist like in the round I've mentioned. Let's go to the OOC side now. You also complained in LOOC. I cannot bear seeing more of this when I just want to play my game focusing on IC and not seeing LOOC or OOC. The only salts I ever want to see is after the round but not in the middle of the round. I do not want to see something like this "this person did this and is a bad player". I've started increasing my tendency to adminhelp on those who complain in LOOC. This is not acceptable and is never acceptable. It clearly violates the server's main rules. I am not going to disable my OOC/LOOC. In Discord, I can tell you are very rude to other people even to me and becoming obnoxious to speak to which is why I had started avoiding having a conversation with you. I avoid plentiful of people who behaves in this similar way.
8. This is a rushed application and rushed papers tells people that this person is not interested or lazy to do the job. Could you tell us more about your application in details. Feel free to read the "secret" over at ToasterRoboto's application. I know you can type up paragraphs, but for some reason you didn't. Once you've done this, we can talk.
9. I've seen you around the server and you seem to have a good heart. Your application is lacking solid answers. Clearly, it is a rushed application and we don't take kindly to it. However after noticing your timezone, I feel nice enough to try to convince my superior to give you a chance to revise your application and give us more detail about each questions rather one-sentence answer. We need Central Command Internal Affairs Agent to be able to stay awake in that time region so some of us can go to sleep. I'll let you on a secret, Central Command Internal Affairs Agent are like Lore Dev. in terms of writing out things. We do not write a single sentence and be done with everything, it's more to that. We are expected to write a paragraph or paragraphs of how we come to a decision or showing our stance. Ultimately, it typically works in this chronological order: First, we receive the incident report and process it with our admin superior and check for antagonists involvement. Second, we check over information and ensure all information is correct before we move on. Thirdly, we notify the involved and prepare to interview them. Once all or most involved have been interviewed, the CCIAA responsible for the case will decide the consequences for all involved personnel e.g. this witness saw this but did not report thus gets punished whilst reported party will be punished as well for this but the reporting party has been testified doing this illegal acts. Whatever the consequence/decision you make, you will have to write a summary paragraph of how everything ties together. We don't rush our paragraphs.
10. I've read through this thread. My opinion is... -1 I don't like it. My opinion is somewhat the same as Aboshehab. The year is 2460, the year where almost everything is possible. Laser gun is a thing, we have the capabilities to clone a dead body, even further we continue to expand Bluespace. Almost anything is possible with Suhkoi's devices (LanceLynxx). We even have fancy 3-D goggles at our time. And you are telling me that we are not able to create security HUD and flash-resistant tint? Engineers aren't suppose to be wearing aviator mesons when they set up the engine because it does not cover every portion of their eyes. For instance, if you look away, from an angle the supermatter will be too bright for the engineer's eyes. Medical wouldn't be wearing aviators because we've become so accustomed to medical using Medical HUD and it would be plain silly of them to use a fancy eye-wear for it. Night vision, thermal, material
11. We're reviewing atm and some of us CCIAAs are celebrating U.S. Independence in our personal time.
12. I'm okay with this, it should deliver a plentiful conflict of interests between four parties: Crew, Security, Internal Affairs Agent, and Command. I'll share what we had discussed earlier in CCIAA team. At first, you were being extremely vague which is why we were hesitant until you started sharing more information about your idea. Eventually, we took an interest and grasped onto your idea. The downsides to it? I can see the crew is going to be complaining more about Internal Affairs Agent writing up a "ridiculous" injunction and an antag will probably try to kill an Internal Affairs Agent. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to catch every each injunction to increase cross multiple days. I'm sure you understand that we have life. So far, I'm okay with this and I'll turn a blind eye to downsides. I would like to see your separate draft form drawn up so that we may discuss it more as a team.
13. I have interacted with Lilah both in IC and OOC. I can vouch Lilah is willingly to become a moderator and ensure that everyone's having fun. Lilah is the kind of person to express and remind people that we are here for fun, not to stick and see the world as black and white inducing despair, Basically, she knows just because people can do it doesn't mean they should do it. In fact, she would most definitely turn around her thinking and ensure that everyone is having fun. Apparently, there are too many people who do not see usually see fun that way so I would vouch Lilah to be a moderator for the sake of hope.
14. Did someone say... ZOMBIES!? All my yes for this game mode suggestion. Today's my first day as a Security Officer. I'm arriving at N.S.S. Aurora Station via Crew Transfer Shuttle. I wonder how other people are like. I arrived at the station, everything seems normal but no one's talking over the communications. I stumble upon an unconscious person who's wearing an ID of Willow Harper. I approached her and asked if she was okay, but she wasn't responding. Just lying face flat on the floor then I noticed there was blood. I radio in Security Channel, no one's responding... I walked past the security checkpoint and notice people were walking slowly to move, blood dripping from the lip down to the floor. Suddenly, the woman from earlier grabbed my leg! OH NO! Tried to bite my leg! I run back to Security Checkpoint and went up the ladder and I met head of security named Marvin Branagh. He gave me his key card and told me to get out of here. Along the trail, I met Azza Wong, Drea Redfield, and so on. Man, these red herbs are so good. Since you got me very eager and I'd like to throw in my interests to see out of this suggestion by answering Saudus's question. I'd love to see a slow-medium speed zombie .I'd prefer a bite on arm/leg that you're automatically infected unless you cure or amputate it but it progresses slow. Although, a bite in the neck, chest, groin would obviously need to find a cure ASAP. A scratch would hardly be an infection as you're just scratching. Movies just outright says scratching can also get you infected. As for the existence of zombie virus, it should be very unknown to start with. Most zombie viruses are unknown at start until it is discovered like Umbrella Corporation or Walking Dead's season 1 research building. How it starts? I don't mind how it starts in beginning of game mode whether it be "I know I got bitten, stay away from me." or "Uh... I don't feel so well... I need to see a doctor.", either those I don't mind. Although, I'm concerned about Zombie Progression as you stated because obviously we all know zombies from movies, video games, tv shows, comics, blah blah. Command or specific people can outright say, "Kill them, we can just clone them later." and eventually move to ruin the fun.
15. I was semi-involved in this discussion with other staffs. I'll speak a little bit from law's technicalities, not that I care but I'll say it anyways. A company is not required to to exercise Freedom of the Press. NanoTrasen isn't a country, it's a corporation. Like any companies, they can choose to censor any news material. However, I do not like the idea of freelance journalist being able to write whatever and however they like against NanoTrasen or other political issues from inside. Because you are unable to D-Notice or Delete a post from the Newscaster which will render the Security to come up with a different alternative to approach this. A security officer could even take their ID even if it's against or with Corporate Regulations. There was a similar situation regarding Cargo Bay's storage with contained contraband, Security often seized their contraband until admin had to step in and tell them no, then a directive in place to prevent them doing so and this became a norm. So to say, consider me very skeptical about this. I like the other suggestion in Jackboot's idea however this appears to be a glaring issue.
16. I'm going to say what I think is more important and a shot worth taking. I am not happy with some mudslinging from few of pessimistic people here, some posts are not warranted to be said in which can be interpreted as campaign smearing. I am going to +1 because programmers, coders, mappers, etc. are very scarce and hard to obtain. Developers are people who add contents to Aurora Station and assist in maintaining the server. If we have less or no developers, then there is no future for Aurora Station. What I state next may sound irrelevant to this topic however it seems we're already on the issue of behaviors. I don't often look at the behaviors of a programmer since I'm already taking computer science classes as a kouhai at a college and I can relate to their behaviors often, I respect many developers because we share same mutual feeling. Is it hard to keep your problem inside and accept where the path is taking us? Yes. Do I often scream at people for their failures in real life and unable to get the job done (e.g. group programming project)? Yes. I often think myself to be superior than others when I'm really not. Some developers are not often expected to maintain smiling face in the real world because they literally work behind the scene. I believe it is safe to assume that we've reached to the point of where we must test BurgerBB regarding his behavior. Will his behavior conflict with his duties as a developer? That's a mystery at the moment and I am sure that through his tenure as a developer in which Burger will soon respect our ideas and proposals without calling people out. If this is something that BurgerBB is unable to do so and the community is not satisfied by slinging a staff complaint at him, we always can discuss and work things out in the later future. As long as BurgerBB is in the staff team, he will soon learn to respect people and provide a reasonable criticism whether he likes it or not. Perhaps that will help ease the strain on players that complains that "BurgerBB treats players like shit".
