1. ((Station AIs are not permitted to submit Incident Reports. If you feel that the reported player's conduct warrants a player or character complaint, please post a thread that follows that format in the correct subforum.))

thank you <3

Best of luck at school, and we'll see you when we see you! I know that both Kizzy and Owl will be missed by several.
3. Big fan of this. I've always wanted to be a floaty scientist hologram.
4. As a note, we have cyanide already and it's quite powerful.
5. Security should be aware of station directives already, and if they aren't, Command Staff are. Happy to continue this discussion elsewhere, but it threatens to derail the OP's original suggestion which is technically against the forum rules.
6. We already have policy in place.
7. That addresses the concern of them requiring outside help to be tested, but the main reason I'm against this is because I don't want us to hard code restrictions on behavior into the game. It doesn't stop players who truly want to be disruptive, and it will punish everyone who wants to use the feature being restricted responsibly. Additionally, science has no dedicated area for weapons testing on newmap, so far. Aside from the bomb range, which is in a vaccuum and prone to fits of space wind thanks to bugs.
8. Not a fan of this. If Johnny PhD is 'printing off the whole armory' then you can ahelp them. Don't administrate via code. If it's an emergency and they're doing it for a good reason (rare, I know) this just hamstrings their effectiveness. RnD prototypes exist presumably to be tested. Making them impossible to test without outside help is a backwards way to operate.
9. It is surprising that Coalf doesn't have this yet. I assumed he'd applied for it a while ago. Coalf is a grounded player who knows how to create good roleplay, and has a strong understanding of the rules (like you might expect a mod to). His application is oriented toward how the whitelisted player can help make a round better for a group, which is something I think that Command should be doing. There's nothing in the character himself that would make me want to stop and point out a problem. In fact, given that our current subplot appears to center around ATLAS being a bunch of arbitrarily bad doods, having someone in Command sympathetic to them may enable certain kinds of antagonist play a bit. As for the player, I've enjoyed getting to know him over Discord and a non-spess group RP, and I think he has the right attitude for receiving criticism, rolling with the punches and not having a big head when it comes to his characters/writing/fellow players. It makes sense to whitelist someone like that.
10. This report is currently on hold, due to being an element of an open player or character complaint. If you have something to add to that discussion, please do so at https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8868. If there is a need to, this report will be reopened following the resolution of the complaint.

13. EDIT: I wrote all this up just to reread and see that Nurses were more or less how I imagined in OP already. Do not post before morning coffee. Original post is in the spoiler tag, but TL;DR Nurses should be able to do A, B, and C, and they sorta pretty much can. Unlike as proposed, I think Nurses should be capable of performing the technical cloning treatment, but not the mental health elements of the post-treatment. DOUBLE EDIT COMBO: For sake of this discussion, it may be a good idea to separate the intent of the changes from how they affect existing characters. Compelling you to change who you play in order to adhere to the employment qualifications or the "play believable characters" rule is not why these guidelines are being updated. We are trying to create a foundation of believability and agree on a set standards for the future, in a field where those standards can differ significantly around the world.

On Captainship

As the author of that announcement I wanted to post a thing. But Skull posted a better thing. Just read his thing.
15. I don't like this. Many characters don't even find a home for a while, and their players hop around until they find something to make canon for them. There are also instances in which moving positions makes some sense, or when a position is so popular that it affects characters trying to join the round. Egregious examples should be called out and reviewed, but enforcing it with mechanics feels like overkill, and reinforces a behavior of administration-by-coding that I already complain loudly about and annoy everyone with. Better to stretch believability than to hyper-enforce in this particular case. It can always be dialed back if it's proven to be too much via character complaints and etc..
16. I seem to remember a certain Head Developer shooting my hopes for this one down by saying they were going to incorporate elements of one mode into the other. What happened there Skull132? Are there still plans to do that?
17. I believe this is already on the list of things to be worked on (antag guides, at least) but it may be a while, as the wiki maintenance team is small and our affairs are complex. The shorthand version goes something like: [*]You're an antag. [*]Figure out a cause (Use AOOC!) and convert people to it. [*]Provoking the Revolutionaries into action against you is a primary goal. Be questionable, stretch regulations (or break them utterly for glorious Miranda Trasen) and escalate the situation on the station until it's as messy as you want it to be. [*]Have fun.
