Ceasefire with New Kingdom and Democratic Republic
25.11.2461
Earlier today, ambassadors of our Republic met with officials of the Democratic People's Republic of Adhomai and the New Kingdom of Adhomai at the Das'rra Imperial Palace outside of Shastar City. Disarmed and under heavy guard by galactic peacekeepers of the S'rand'marr Coalition and the Jargon Federation, the ambassadors began to discuss terms with the enemies of the People's Republic. As of this past hour, all present agreed to a complete ceasefire. While several ceasefires have been called in the past for matters such as councils for the Parivara and other humanitarian reasons, for the first time in over 10 years, our people now know the first peace which is meant to last.
The decision to enter into peace negotiations with the monarchist and reactionary rebels came following the standstill of the past months which saw unprecedented brutality and the loss of tajaran life. As brave tajara after brave tajara on both sides of the conflict laid down their lives in the ultimate sacrifice, the banality and futility of war became increasingly apparent. For the past ten years, millions have paid the price and the whole of our race has suffered under the burden of constant loss. The People's Republic under Hadii has stood strong for its ideology and beliefs, affirming and reaffirming constantly the necessity of integration into the galactic community and the uplifting of the tajaran people with harmonious cooperation with our technologically advanced brothers from beyond. The belief that our identity would be lost in the process is the rallying cry of the misguided. Poverty and repressive institutions is not the essence of our being, and our beautiful culture would only shine ever brighter among our equals in the galactic stage. Our warriors were brave, and the suffering we endured was not in vain. We fought for the very future not just of a cabal of political elite, but the entire tajaran race. For the past ten years we fought to prevent the uprooting and regression of all of the progress we have made. It was the sincerest hope that as an entire species we may look forward to the future united and not divided that our nation persevered to bring back our lost brothers and sisters. We know now, all too late as all tajara have suffered, that we must let them choose their own path.
As a constant stream of reports on terrorism across the Republic and casualties from the front line streamed into the governmental bunker under Nal'Tor, members of government and high command wept bitter tears and tragedies which became all too common. Sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers all left to fight the good fight, never to return to their homes. Loved ones set off to their local markets and factories, only to be collateral damage in the bold attacks of their own neighbors. As anti-war protests at home and abroad in the many member states of the nations which delivered us from destruction began to spring up, the flower of peace bloomed. The flower of peace bloomed in the heart of every tired soldier, every citizen who lost their homes, and every sensible tajara who could see how senseless a continuation of the conflict would be. Early this morning ,the S'rand'marr Coalition, tired of a war they joined only two months ago which we have endured for a decade, delivered an ultimatum to our government to seek peace terms or else the Coalition would leave our Republic to devastation by rebel forces. Already weary and ready to end the violence, President Hadii immediately accepted.
While negotiations have only agreed upon an immediate ceasefire so far, the desire for lasting peace was readily apparent. Ambassadors of all sides unanimously agreed that the bloodshed must end for all time and that our three nations must learn to coexist and live in harmony. Future discussions will primarily revolve around the exact borders of our nations, drawing the map in a manner which will be agreeable to the populations of various areas in question and the needs of our governments. After a full day of talks which brought about the ceasefire, President Hadii issued a press released commending the Adhomai Liberation Army and the Imperial Adhomian Army on their bravery and dogged principled defense of their values and traditions. The men and women of the People's Republic, however, garnered the most praise for their determined and sometimes seemingly hopeless defense of our bright future. In the face of destruction, they spat in the face of destiny, refusing to be shackled once more to the old ways which subjugated all tajara. While we failed to bring all tajara into the inevitable march of progress together, their valiant efforts have saved the People's Republic from destruction. It is our sincerest hopes that despite our differences, our brothers in different nations may look to us as an elder sibling, eager and ready to take them by their hands and lift them up onto our shoulders. All tajara who wish to join us will not be rebuked, but welcomed with open arms. One day we will all set aside our differences and once more enjoy unity as we had under President Al'Mari Hadii.
