  1. You can already submit the linking request, but it requires a code update on the server. Once its live you should get a message when connecting that there is a linking request.

  5. Throwbatton, Really ? I dont see what would be the advantage of throwing a stun batton at a target. Even if they get hit and dont catch it, then its useless because instastun is no longer a thing.
  6. Let me correct my statement. As it stands security has more than enough means to deal with every situation that a corporate security force is expected to deal with on a daily base.(Extended Rounds - Which is mall cop stuff: Small fights, theft and so on) In those rare cases, that the security force has to deal with bigger stuff, there is the armory and a warden that can hand out various weapons. They are not a heavily armed SWAT team or military unit that gets called to a combat area every day.
  7. I also think that there is no need for lethal ammo from the beginning. If the situation comes that lethal ammo is needed, there is a warden that is able to supply it. (And even more lethal weapons if required). The security force that is deployed on aurora is more like the security guards in your shopping mall than a actual police force. They are just there to stop minor crimes and call for help from a force that is equipped to deal with that / hold major criminals until they can be handed over to the authorities. You wont find you average mall guard equipped with a pistol that carries lethal ammo. I would even support disabling the access to the armory for normal officers, so pistols have to be requested through the warden (This also helps to keep track of the inventory)
  8. Suggestion added to the list. Forum login system is finished. First beta of the contracts system has been deployed. (Its semi-private to those who know the url) Public beta might start ~next weekend.
  9. I saw part of that as a emergency physician. If I can remember correctly, the Queen has been brought into the OR1 in medbay because she needed surgery. I am not sure if the surgery has been completed or not, but then the HoS and the Cap busted in. They ordered everyone out of surgery. Closed the shutters. Some time later we hear shooting in surgery and a emp. They managed to nearly kill the "queen". Instead of waiting until the patient is fully treated an released from medbay / surgery both of them busted in and managed to get into a argument that resulted in a firefight in the medbay. I think it is very poor conduct for a HoS / Captain to escalate a situation to a firefight in the medbay. Oh and none of them mentioned with any word that we (medbay staff) might be dealing with a criminal.

  11. Added to the list. Do you know if the recorder logs are stored in the db or as a file on the server ?
  12. The idea is to add the ability to add some cross functionality between the game and the website. Right now (at the time of writing this) there are only two things planned that will effect the players: * Edit Characters Online (I have the problem, that the ingame character management is lacking a bit and lagging quite often) * Offline Messaging System between the site and the server * Antag Contract Board In addition there will be a few admin backend things.

    CPR change

    What if we make it depending on their job ? If a medical professional performs CPR its not as likely that there are broken ribs as when someone else is performing it. I would rank it that way: * Paramedic - Regular Practice -> Least chance * Doctors - Should have a good idea * Science / Engie / Sec / Chemistry / Cargo - Should attend a regular first aid course * Other Civilian Jobs / Apprentice - Should have attended a first aid course once * Assistant - Probaply knows to push somewhere in the area below the patients head and above his knees

    Malware

    AI, Tcoms and Stuff to do The point that K0nFL1QT makes is quite relevant. * We need to add something for them todo while noone is screwing around with the system * Or add something else to the portfolio of the IT Department that can be optimized. (And to say that TComs is a different field is not completely right. At my workplace, we (the IT Department) are responsible for the IP-Telephony including the Emergency Numbers (although we work quite closely with our telephony provider)). I could think of the following: * People acutally RPing PDA / Workstation problems. * Creating Problems for them (Just make Workstations / PDAs randomly break down, get infected with malware / ...) * ?? CIO / IT Head Altough I would love and hope to see CIO (Chief Information Officer) become a thing, I dont think that we will make the "IT Administrator" another head, but merely make him a Sub Head (like the QM and the CT´s) only bound to instructions from the captain / acting captain / majority command decisions. (Usually the IT department is only bound to follow instructions from the CIO /CEO if there is no CIO, mostly to prevent stuff like: "I am the head of the Whatever department and I want you to give me more space on the servers, remove it from the other departments if required) AI Involvement I could think of a points system, where every Workstation has a set Number of points, that are regenerating with time (How many points and how fast depends on the Hardware in the Workstation; There should be a few and beefy Workstations in IT) The IT Guys (IT Administartors / IT Technicians) can use them to install IDS / IPS / AV / trace stuff / ... AND all the bad things if the It Administrator unlocks them (much like the Armory in Sec) The Antags use the same principle, but they can only install the defensive stuff on their workstation / workstations they compromised The Ai can decide to become networked. It takes a minute to connect to the network, but then its essentially a supercomputer with quite a few points. But the downside is, that its now a valid target for the antags to attempt to hack and takeover. (Change Laws, ...) Once the AI is networked, there is a 10 minute delay before it can become disconected again. (Just think of some lore reason: "Majory Changes in the routing tables of the core routers are only possible every 10 minutes, because the routing tables need to be recalculated after a major change and the changes needs to propagate to the remote devices") Now that the AI is networked it shows up as a bright red target on the computer list. It can also disconnect after the 10 min delay, but it takes 5 minutes to disconnect and the disconnection cant be done while it is currently under attack. There is the option for a Emergency disconnection, but it will render the AI confined to its core for 12 minutes. It cant use any cams or devices. (Lore Reason: "During a emergency disconnect all outside connections are forcefully removed and need to be reconnected manually.") Times are subject to balance. Location of the IT department There would be two awesome places for the IT Department: * A backalley in maint. A place where noone wants to go, but has to because their shit is broken. * A Area thats accessible nicely, maybe can be seen from the Hallway (with tintable windows of course if shit hits the fan, and IT needs some time to work on a problem). With beautiful workstations, maybe the Server Room next to the IT Department, a few gadgets a generous work area, some equippment racks, everything has a new and high-tec touch. Just a great experience to work in. Edit 1: Updated the Story. Updated the things IT could do when nothing is going wrong.

    Well, I would do it with a chance that it happens (maybe tied to the medical skill level ?) Because, it can happen that someone´s ribs are broken during cpr but its not a must or a indicator for successful cpr.

    I would love that idea. But having a IT Department only for the possibility that someone might hack a terminal / pda / whatever seems a bit overkill. I would also add tcoms / messaging to the tasks of the IT department and remove them from engineering. Later on we could refine that idea to add a departmental server to a central server room, that does various things such as store the medical / security / employment records / research data (we already have that one), control various functions in the department (doors, lights, machines, atmos, ...) If someone manages to get physical access or otherwise control of it, they are then able to take control of the department. So basically they could: * Send false sec records to the sec huds of the officers. * Impersonate someone else (Head of Staff) and send a fax to a fax machine. * Lock the AI / Cyborgs out of various machines / systems * Lock someone inside of their office and start syphoning it slowly, to give engineering time to react (Get to the air alarm and disable remote control) But there also needs to be a mechanic to counter that: * Reboot the server -> Every non-commited configuration is dropped and it takes 5 minutes to reboot (During that time, the department is shut down, like in a powernet-anomaliy event) * Complete reboot and reset -> Same as reboot but wipes the departmental server, restores the default settings and takes 7 or 10 minutes (Every Record is reset to the round start state) * Firewalls -> By default only allows terminals of the same department write access to the server, and some other departments read access (For example the Medical Firewall, might allow sec read access to get the mental / physical state from someone) * Intrusion Detection -> Alerts the Admins if someone is attemting to breach the firewall and allows them to trace the workstation from where its happening * Intrution Prevention -> Adds additional Obstacles to the departmental server, like requiring a voice prompt before allowing access. * Anti Virus -> Allows to detect and remove malware from the departmental server. Scanning the Server takes 5 minutes. By default only a basically configured firewall exists on each departmental server (No IDS / IPS), it should have random "holes" in it, that the IT Department needs to find and fix.

Ckey/BYOND Username: Arrow768 Position Being Applied For (coder, mapper, spriter): php developer Past Experiences/Knowledge: I have a pretty good knowledge of php and various db backends (mostly mysql/mariadb and postgresql) But my html / javascript / css knowledge is not the best. (I am able to edit and adapt a design / create something with bootstrap, but I dont have much knowledge in creating something with css/less) I mostly work with the laravel framework as its very well maintained and elegant. But I have also worked with CI and "normal" php without any framework. I have a sysadmin background (and thats part of the reason why I lack the html / java script / css knowledge, cause if I have to make something it needs to work and it needs to be finished quickly, design is not a top priority) Examples of Past Work: One of my projects is the store webpanel. The first version was just a administration gui for a (sourcemod) gameserver plugin. (Updated regularly since 3 years now) Version 2 is a complete rewrite in laravel and features a admin and a userpanel. It allows the users to interact with their stuff on the gameservers via the webpanel (sso via steam is included ofc) I have also written a mybb plugin that integrates the store plugin into a mybb forum. Access Details for a demo install can be provided via PM. Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): I would prefer steam as a communication method.
