  1. If I remember correctly modular computers from bay have a downloadable application that offers chat rooms, ... Modular computers will be ported sooner or later
  2. Threats like: Mice Lizards Maybe the occasional carp. I am very sure that our security department is really challenged having to deal with Mice and Lizards and removing the drones ability to deal with them will add a huge RP value to the game. (Obviously this is not meant serious)

  4. Let me ask you that way: The Aurora/Exodus is not the only Station NT has, is it ? It is also safe to assume that every station uses different radio frequencies. Why should NT dedicate resources to monitor every channel of every single station, facility or ship they have ? Just quickly counting it together we have 8 channels on the station. Multiply that by lets say 100 Stations/Facilities/Ships they might have. That means there are ~~800 Channels to monitor compared to 1 fax machine thats used if there is some emergency. Why dedicate resources to monitoring 100s of channels for the off chance that there is problem when you can just instruct command staff to send a fax if something goes sideways ? They dont dedicate those resources because it would be a utter waste of time and money. For those few times when something happens there are established channels such as the fax machine that can be used to communicate with command. So there is no reason for central to listen into the coms of a specific station unless they have reason to do so (And thats when a CCIA Agent is spawned in)

Why bother the paramedic with retrieving the body when you can do it ? - Always make sure your patients wears a hardsuit before you put them into cryo. - Aesthetics are overrated when doing surgery. Only the weak need them. - If a patient is in crit and has internal bleeding cryo is the best way to treat it. - If a patient ejects himself from cryo put him in again asap for only you know whats best
  6. The I©T department is one of my projects that I wanted todo for a long time, but has been delayed for quite a while because of unmerged dependencies. Bay has a modular computer system that replaces the existing consoles. Until a few weeks ago there was no concrete ETA when those will be merged. I have received a rough estimate when that merge will happen, so I pulled the old project out again and have been working with a few other people including UM on fleshing out the idea. I dont plan to take over Nanakos thread, but I will only give a few corner points of what the new IT department will be: Department Structure: The IT Department will have a maxiumum of 3 employees: 1 IT Administrator 2 IT Techs The IT Admin is the department head, a whitelisted position, not command level, but only answers to command as a whole or the captain The IT Admin also has the power to implement station wide policies (security, BYOD, ...) The IT Techs answer to the IT Admin Responsibility for Tcoms and the Messaging Server will be moved to the IT Department Reason why its not sub department of engineering or the hop: New Devices: Right now stuff just works and there are many unanswered questions: Where exactly are those employment records saved ? How can my console access those records ? I cant see a Accesspoint around the station, how is it possible that my Sec Hud accesses those records ? What device controls what I can access with my console ? Is there a policy in place that sais if I can use my private laptop to access company data ? And a few more Those questions will be answered with the introduction of: Various Servers Switches Firewalls Application Firewalls AccessPoints Those will be rackmount devices, except for the AccessPoints, those will be wall-placed Those are just the basics that are needed to add more depth to an already existing system. Once those have been implemented and tested there will be stuff that allows Antags to interact with the IT-Infastructure of the station and influence it in multiple ways. There are also ideas floating around that will make the AI part of that IT-Infrastrucuture. The above mentioned ideas will fit nicely within the 2nd batch. Some of those have to be adapted like the Remote Interface. Seems way to simple. Just click on a device to remote control it, but there will be a mechanic to do just that.
  7. I like this idea, but sooner or later you will reach the point where you max out the tech tree. Therefore I would support resetting it every x days be it 30 days or 180 days doesnt matter now. If we do this we should allow them to research into different fields. So they have to decide if they want to spend the next x days trying to get the tech for that rare gun or that cool mech. Both shouldnt be possible (or only if you have a very dedicated research team) Also pulling stats would be interesting. So you can see a trend what gets researched and graduately change the tech requirements to steer them in one direction or another.
  8. I do not support this for the reasons stated. We dont need assistant-engineers that try to be the hero the station deserves. There is a engineering team that should evaluate a situation then plan how to tackle it, prepare properly and then solve the problem at hand. No need to give them the easy way out by putting infla walls into every oxy locker around the station.

I have a few ideas to address these issues: Communication with Odin, Radio Range, Fax for ERT: Just make a policy that all requests to Central Command need to be routed through the proper channels. I know a few administrative bodies that wont even consider your request unless its comes in via a proper channel in the proper format. (Try to e-mail a governmental body in Austria something without it being signed with a qualified digital signature that complies with the SigG §4 Abs 1. They are very likely to just ignore it) People staying there for a extended period of time: If someone doesn't leave after a total of 5 min send a automatically generated message to them that they will be removed shortly If they are there after a total of 7min message them again and the admin/mod channel And if they are there after a total of 10min delete the char from the game and grant them a respawn after 10 min. It should not be too hard to check what items that person has on them and re-add these items back to the vending machines -> Prevents Chair RP -> Prevents SSD from taking up slots -> Removes the ready-up then ssd people quickly Ghetto-ERT: If they manage to get enough people together within 7 minutes, gear up and coordinate properly, then good job Ghetto ERT is pretty much prevented by hard-limiting the time they can stay on the arrivals station

  11. Just an FYI right now it does not display a random notice ingame. It merely ties into the announcement menu allowing you to select if you want to use a announcement template or make a new one. Once/if the automatic display is implemented there will be a checkbox allowing you to set if it should be shown or not. My point is right now we already have two placed to check for ccia regs. Rather than adding a 3rd place for people to check that will be updated (or not) we should work to improve the two places we already have.

  18. I think this is now the 3rd time you put up that application. The first time it has been denied for lying about the time spent on the server and for the lack of constructive feedback. The second time it has been denied for the lack of constructive feedback. What makes you think that this time (A few hours after the second one has been denied) you will get more feedback ? Back on topic: I have seen Ender Octanus around, but I am not sure if it was a positive encounter. But I will be sure to keep and eye out for him in the future.

To my knowledge the captain has been informed that there is a Hostage situation ongoing and that the HoS is engaged in negotiations as well as that the situation is under control If someone with log access can check this ? Despite there being multiple officers as well as the HoS present, the the captain decided to take matters into his own hands and just walk up to the suspect and see if "he can be the hero that saves the day"

  24. This has been implemented and DOs are able to add edit the CCIA Records of characters. The serverside code will go live in a few days. A feedback option to DO Notes will not be implemented at this time.
