ShesTrying
Hello. As a roboticist, I can say that when I work hard on a mech, this big, powerful machine, and weld that last plate in place, I get a little upset when it.... Squeaks at me. Seriously. The sped up, rushed through mech startup voice is horrible. And it hasn't always been like that!!! Plx revert it. Same with Beepsky sound circuits and Medibot sound circuits. Skull132
Just now, ShesTrying said: I'm serious. Log on and build one. Listen to it. Feel yourself die inside. I did. This is amazing. Absolutely the best thing I've seen ingame in months. The problem is that I might need to read through 1413 instances of something being called to fix it. Link to comment
ShesTrying
Lmfao, I hope it sparks joy. It's too much. too. much. I want my circuitry with beepsky sound circuits to work, too! Link to comment

Dark1Star
@Skull132 This is actually the same with a lot of sounds. They have changed in pitch drastically. Though, I wouldn't mind brand new voices for the exo-suits. Perhaps each exo-suit having differnt voices/voice lines? EG: The voices from titan fall. EG: This voice for the Durand https://youtu.be/zvp5V92fvKY?t=1390 Link to comment
Nantei
That is an amazing idea. Ripping the sounds from Titanfall is perfect. I might do that depending on how difficult it is. Link to comment
KingOfThePing
Quite sure you can't just take copyrighted soundfiles from an EA published game and add it to Aurora's code Link to comment

Guest Marlon Phoenix
Please find public domain sounds to avoid copyright issues as much as possible. Link to comment

It's not really relevant, honestly. You should not use copyrighted content (straight rips of assets from games in the mainstream, especially not) of another game. It can get people into trouble, the chance of trouble is what people want to avoid. Link to comment
Nekonyan123
just make a bootleg voice Link to comment
Dark1Star
The current mech voices are ripped straight from MechWarrior. That's still copyrighted. Link to comment
KingOfThePing
That's no argument in replacing them with other copyrighted sounds. It's more one to make sure they get replaced with something that's no one's stolen intellectual property. Link to comment
Nantei
I don't see an issue with replacing copyrighted sounds with better copyrighted sounds. Yes, ideally we use none, but if we are going to use them, they should at least be good, ne? Also a large portion of SS13 sound libraries includes copyrighted sounds. Link to comment

And copyrighted sprites... _cough_ literally every voidsuit. Link to comment
geeves
Doing something bad just because something bad has been done is bad. Try and find some non-copyrighted material, OR. Or, voice your own lines. We'll smack 'em in. If they're good. Link to comment

Finding non-copyrighted sounds that are similar to that is going to be borderline impossible. You would have to record your own, and I am no voice actress. Link to comment
Dark1Star
To be honest, on the topic of Exo-Suit voices, would it be possible for RIGs to get their own voices too? EG: Imagine the HEV suit from half-life 2. Say if you break a leg. "Major Fracture Detected" Link to comment
