Aticius
BYOND key: Aticius Character names: Tzarka Ssarzi, Veetek Aseela-Resseri, Zaosor Asari, Sharah Guwan How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Two, three Months now, I think. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I want to ride in the front of the shuttle to flex on people who can't. And to break my long hiatus from Chief Engineer and teach players the mysterious ways of Atmos and usher in a new age of robust engineering to overthrow all those below my power... Why did you come to Aurora?: A friend pushed me into it after a long hiatus away from SS13. You never quit; only take long breaks. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Duh. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Garnasacus yelled at me for throwing papers labeled "fragmentation grenade". Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is primarily about putting yourself in the shoes of someone else; perhaps in different setting all together, or as someone or something else. (I've seen someone RP a table.) Ideally, Roleplay should be focused on enriching both yours, and everyone you interact with's, experience. Fun for you, and Fun for all. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: OOCly, Heads of Staff are there to have additional access and manage the team to have a more coherent response to stressful situations, and to teach new players or delegate that teaching to someone else. This can be taken to be "Super Engineer" or "Super Doctor" (and, indeed, they have some mechanical encouragement for it.), though it is not the inherent (or should not be) the inherent job of the role. They also serve as characters to make gamemodes like Rev work, at all. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Whitelisted Players, both for those holding Species Whitelists and Command Whitelists should both be upstanding members of the community, ones held to a higher standard than others; and ones pointed to as good examples to follow. Such players should be exemplars of the community and ones that form the core of the community. Be friendly, be approachable, be kind. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Tau Ceti has been a hot point for racial and political tensions lately; Broiling tensions would cause issues at the workplace; given that Mendell City is going through several riots at time of writing. Tense times for all involved. Furthermore; past tensions from the Jargon Federation's Very Legal and Unsuspicious Visit (TM) have agitated and renewed new wounds against Skrell as a whole, or atleast on Aurora. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Chief Engineer, Consular Officer for now. Then see what Ideas I get later. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: As of writing, I do not have a formalized and finished command character; but Will make one before my trial. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Depends on who you ask, I think. I don't think I'm amazing at roleplay; I think I'm atleast good and practiced, but people I'm close with swear up and down that I'm more than that. They're probably going to comment on this below. I don't like these questions! Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yup. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yup. Extra notes: im calling shotgun and you cant stop me. Edited April 5, 2020 by Aticius Link to comment
Kintsugi
Ati's one of my best friends and no doubt an exceptionally competent roleplayer. If you want to read the glowing paragraph +1s I've given him in the past, just look at his previous application for the Unathi. As far as command is concerned, I have absolutely no doubt he'll fit in there. When we played Bay together, he basically wrote the book for engineering on things like the SM. In fact he literally did write the book for it, go check it out. Guy's an engineering and atmos savant, and he'll be a great CE. even if I dislike alien heads of staff on principle. +1 Link to comment
DeadLantern
I think you should create the character right now, and fill out the "Tau Ceti" part of this application. You don't need a true character, a simple outline for now is enough. Link to comment

ShadowGabe23
No tau ceti part -1, in seriousness, Ati has very very very recently and very quickly became one of my favourite people to talk to ICly and OOCly, they are a great roleplayer and I think they are genuinely one of the nicest people you will meet, I also believe they will hold up to the standards that all command should, besides REDACTED. They are competent and extremely friendly, meaning they will be ready to help mentor people should they require it, and they will also be a great driving force for the round. I trust Ati completely with this whitelist, probably a lot more than some people I'd say. With that said, Ati will not only be trustworthy but will thrive in a more command-based RP environment and I believe they will do amazing! As if I even have to say it, +1!! Link to comment
Vizendel
Ati has taught me quite a lot about atmospherics and Engineering and I'd love for them to have the chance to do that for other people too! +1 Link to comment
maniacalFowl
I've known Aticius for the better part of 2 years. In that time I've known him to be probably the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to Engineering systems and mechanics in game. I can vouch for how they revolutionized the way we handled the engine back on Bay and can say without a doubt that anytime they played their Engi-Liz they were CE in everything but Title curse those damned scalie haters on Bay. They mostly taught me everything I know about engineering now and I fully support their application and not just because I want a Lizard CE. I could drone on about how amazing Aticius is but I'll keep it short because like Danse, I'm here once again to shill for my favorite person in spessman. If there is anyone I would want in the CE position it would be them.+1 Link to comment
Alberyk
I have some concerns; Last time you were the offender in an IR you quit the community for some time. Citing that you did not want to take part in the IR at all due to your character being punished in a previous one, also saying something about it being a toxic system. I don't think that evading ic consequence, or at least thinking that you should not be punished for the stuff you do, for your character's action is something that I want to see from heads of staff, neither someone that is not interested in dealing with our staff teams and the system we have put in place, which is something that heads of staff have to do. Do you plan to change how you deal with this kind of situation? Link to comment

Do you plan to change how you deal with this kind of situation? While I still wholeheartedly believe that the IR system is the worst implemented feature on Aurora; I had hoped that this Application carried the underlying statement that I will happily endure this specific part of the server to play in a role that I'm interested in, in this particular environment. If it hasn't; then allow me to clarify: While I detest the IR system, interaction with the staff team is a core aspect to Head roles; which I have no issue with, and indeed, I think I'll end up enjoying due to their influence on the round and their value to the round's narrative or even beyond that. Evading consequences was never an intent of that outburst and while this I do not think this is the ideal place to talk about it, It was never my goal to evade consequences for that round in the slightest. If that is what happened, I certainly apologize. Link to comment
FluffyBirb
Having interacted with their characters extensively, I can say they are a wonderful rollplayer who is able to create interesting characters. While they have avoided an IR in the past, I would like to see how they have grown and think they will be a wonderful addition to the command team. +1 ✨ Link to comment
Wigglesworth Jones
Aticius is a wonderful roleplayer, and while I admit that they have some issues with potentially iffy antagonist play this is a rare occurrence and I have no doubt that they'd be a great Head of Staff. +1 Edited April 5, 2020 by Wigglesworth Jones Link to comment

I think that both of us have had silly pasts but you especially have really become really chill and I like your characters and playstyles. I think you'd be good in command. +1 Link to comment
Scheveningen
+1. I believe you can be trusted to keep the silly stuff to a relative minimum, at the very least. I'm still going to stuff you into the cargo hold of the shuttle you stinky lizard main. Link to comment
Roostercat
Aticius is one of the more memorable lizar players I have seen, with most of my experience being with Ssarzi, their drug addict lab assistant. They are good at RP and I am confident they have the competency and RP ability to sit in the front of the shuttle. +1 Link to comment
Venty
Back when I played as Rebecca alot (SHE IS COMING BACK, HAVE NO FEAR), it was always a joy to interact and RP with her characters, such as everyone's favorite human-cucker lab assistant, Ssarzi. I look forward to seeing what she could do as a Command character.AKA, +1. Link to comment
Estoytrucha
I have learned more about the unathi lore from Atticus than most in that delightful, discovering-it-through-watching-it sort of way. I thoroughly enjoy playing with the listed characters and wouldn't mind having one of Aticus's creations riding shotgun in the shuttle. Link to comment
Skyglazer
How can I not leave my support for Aticius? The time between meeting them and considering them a great friend was quite possibly among the shortest of anyone I know-- that is to say, we were exceptionally fast friends. Aticius' characters and play left a lasting impression on me, and after getting to meet the person behind the lizards, we just clicked. Aticius is friendly, highly knowledgeable of the game, devoted to RP, and would provide a new kind of energy that I think the current Command pool might need. People have listed valid concerns, but I have faith that Aticius will be able to overcome the negatives that have showed themselves in the past. If they struggle-- well, it's my duty as a friend to hold them to it! Give Aticius a chance, and I promise they won't let you down. +1. Link to comment
Yonnimer
I've played with them quite a few times, and I can wholeheartedly say I believe they can hold a command white list. +1 Link to comment
DronzTheWolf
Ati is a good bean and a better roleplayer... That being said, I've interacted with them on-and-off and all of that led to a positive overall view.+1 Link to comment
Snakebittenn
Aticius is a good roleplayer, and I think trustworthy enough to be given this whitelist. +1 Link to comment
