[Accepted] Snoopy11's IPC Whitelist Application
Coalf replied to Snoopy11's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've had quite the amount of interactions with Snoopy and I have to say they are quite top. And even though I don't have any regards to your character I do have a few points to make about you as a player and your previous characters. Calm down with the memes , yeah it's funny but a few times you were quite close to the bwoink line and although I can appreciate a good joke it can get a bit, well stale from one player. Also one big prop I have to give to snoops in the end is the fact that when he's playing his security cat he actually attempts to talk to semi-hostile antags instead of going in with the flashbangs+.45 gundown, don't see many sec officer's willing to take the risk just for some extra RP and I can respect that. All in all a good player. +1 but holy shit dud deathnote is like the most normalfag animu get sum taste bruh -
[Accepted]sebkillerDK's Tajaran whitelist application
Coalf replied to sebkillerDK's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I played with Seb, he's a cool guy but a few things. How did Samiya's family remain neutral in such a conflict? Surely the previous monarchy used police force to enforce their rule. How did Samiya reach NanoTrasen? Why would PRA let her go if she was such an excellent officer? Surely she must have done a few missteps for them to consider her "Not PRA worthy". Was she ever part of a Njarir bust? Surely she or atleast her family must have been involved in weeding out the Njarir nobles. Thank you in advance. -
I support what Berry said, I'd rather see this in the custom loadout, maybe add a red and blue variant. The hipster glasses are in the loadout too so why not the full hispter getup? Traitor

You have activated my counter-trap card. Red shows blood and death, REASON BEING, Robots cannot show passion or love. Green symbolizes growth and life, something robots can bring forth into the world. Me: 2 - You: 0 *un-sheats katana* Well it appears that you have gambled and lost, there is over five hundred mentions of color red in the holy bible while the color green is only mentioned three hundred times, *teleports behind u* to add insult to injury Red Cross is an organization that helps all people in need, meanwhile green is the color that a certain country is often depicted with, Ireland and as we all know, your IPC isn't Irish. Pssh...pathetic. So clearly red flannel is superior to green flannel, nothing personell...kid.
-
Well it appears you have activated my trap card, as green clearly symbolises disgust and vomit meanwhile red symbolises passion and love.
-
I'd help you out here. But what kind of person chooses green flannel when red flannel is clearly superior?

Exactly what the title says, flash-bangs have no reason to be in the default load-out of every security officer on the station. Flash-bangs are tactical, breach and clear thrown explosives that serverto blind and disorientate the foe so that he cannot directly fire at the breaching officer. There is 0 reason for a common, patrolling security officer to have a flash-bang on him. There are currently 17 (1 in each sec locker, 7 in the common armory box, 4 in the vendor). That means your normal security officer can get his hands on 17 flash-bangs and a random cadet can grab 4 from the vendor, this makes no sense, why do cadets get access to a flash-bang but not a pepper spray is beyond me. And currently, thanks to flash-bangs there is zero reason for using teargas grenades, thanks to flash-bangs being in every officers security belt there are zero barfights, thanks to flash-bangs there is no reason to hold a hostage as a common security officer can drop you on his random ass patrol through the station. "But they're tactical, and security is trained in tactical combat" Exactly, there is a place for tactical things, the armory. "But you can throw them back" The timer can be set to a single second or instant explosion so you have no chance. "But they can blow up in their hand" Yes and they can also click on themselves with a gun, this is not a weakness, this is a weakness of the player not the flashbang, we don't say LWAP's are weak because a player can't aim. "But they aren't useful all the time" They are useful in crowd situations, in breaching situations (where they are supposed to be used), in single armed target situations, in hostage situations and blob which their tear apart. Now there are a few situations where flashbangs are not good. Target has a hardsuit/voidsuit helmet. (Flash, Pepper spray, Teargas grenades also become useless) Target is an IPC. (Flash, Taser, Baton, Pepper spray, Teargas grenade, Rubbers also become useless) Target is too close to you. (Teargas grenades, Taser also become useless) You can't throw inside the room without getting yourself killed. (All methods become useless) Now I don't want the flash-bang completely removed, I simply think that there is no reason for a private patrolling officer to have a flash-bang on him at all times, if they face a tactical situation they go to the armory to arm up, that's why the flash-bangs should be there. Call this salt, you most likely will, but deep down in your heart you know the only reason you want to keep your flash-bangs is because they make plenty of situations a matter of two clicks instead of actually having to form a plan.

Recently I've been witnessing people just not knowing about their mechanics when they play a certain species and I myself think the wiki is a bit lax on these things, thus I'd like to make this as a open suggestion thread where you submit your tips, tricks and other tweaks you figured out for a certain species you play and love to help other plays accustom to the playstyle. Please don't be shy to comment, I'll be editing this guide to fit your requests. IPC's BASELINE - You cannot be a Captain, HoS, HoP or the IAA. - You get your own robotics language, remember Borgs and the AI can speak that language too. - You can wear normal human softsuits and voidsuits. -You can easily disregard all pain as you don't feel it, but remember that every IPC seeks to preserve and protect its shell. -You cannot be flashed, batoned, tasered and flashbanged, but remember that this makes you a target for lethal take-downs as security is not going to endanger themselves to arrest a robot. - Classic batons work on IPC's. - You get flat 20% brute resist. - You can inject/draw liquids into/from your body, non damaging chemicals won't do anything, you are simply a big beaker, you can hold up to 1000 units, use this to brew cheese. - You cannot eat, if you feel hunger click on an APC with grab intent instead, this has a low chance of damaging you, thus you can use the cyborg recharger instead. - IPC's are damaged by high heat and vacuum, so don't put on armor and suits without grabbing a suit cooling module first. - Suit cooling modules can be printed in prolathes or found in the EVA storage, remember the basic battery barely lasts 5 minutes, put a better one in there. - In turn you don't need an oxygen tank, can easily ignore plasma and cannot be poisoned. - Radiation, Toxin, Oxygen damage does not exist for you. - You cannot repair yourself instead you rely on help of others, Welding tools fix brute and cables fix burn. - EMP blasts will no longer instakill you but they still do a lot of damage, avoid them. - Sprinting raises your temperature very quickly and drains your battery, don't do it too often. - IPCs cannot be ERT troopers. - IPCs cannot be cloned, but can often be brought back from death by repairing. - An IPC will burn for up to 3:00 minutes until death. INDUSTRIAL -Same as above, except you are bigger and tougher trading speed for strength. SHELL - You are squishier than Baseline but still tougher than a human. - You can look exactly like a human, use this to your advantage. SKRELL -You don't slip, laugh at inferior species that slip. - Your age limit is much higher and so is your int limit, Skrell are one of the species that can easily be skilled at multiple departments and have more than one or two PhD's, laugh at the inferior species that have the age of a dog. - You can breathe underwater (Useless), laugh at the inferior species that cannot. - You cannot consume animal protein, avoid all meaty foods, laugh at the inferior species for their primitive eating habits. - Skrell only need to modify helmets as their tentacles don't fit but can wear normal human suits, laugh at inferior species for not being able to wear your helmets. - You get custom language, laugh at the inferior species that don't get it. - You can be any role, even captain, laugh at inferior species that can't. A Skrell will burn for up to 3:00 minutes until death. TAJARA NORMAL(Hharar, Njarir) - You walk faster than anyone else. - You catch on fire easier and if you're wearing too much clothing you will get messages about being uncomfortable, right click on your jumpsuit and roll it down to stop that, remember wear a shirt or a tank-top. - You are somewhat resistant to cold. - You take 15% more damage from brute. - Your clawed hands do bonus damage and can cause bleed, do not box with humans. - Tajara get two additional languages, Siik'Maas and Siik'tajr, Siik'tajr is part sign language thus you can't use it over radio - You cannot wear human gloves or shoes. - You don't actually see better in the dark. - You cannot be a captain but you can be a HoS, CMO, CE, IAA or HoP. - All tajara talk in third person and roll their R's in Basic but are free to not roll R's in Siik'Maas. - You cannot wear human softsuits and softsuits, they have to be modified to fit your tail. -A Tajara will burn for up to 3:00 minutes until death. M'SAI - You are somewhat faster than a normal Tajara - You are somewhat squishier than a normal Tajara - You get to speak Nal'Rasan a special silent hunter language - Same as above. - Can't hold their alcohol as well as a normal Tajara. - Able to deal with warmer temperatures slightly better than a normal Tajara. - Deals with colder temperatures slightly worse than a normal Tajara. - Less Stamina. ZHAN'KHAZAN - You are taller and bulkier. - In turn somewhat slower, both mentally and in terms of agility. - Same as normal Tajara. - Can hold their alcohol as well as humans - Able to deal with colder temperatures slightly better than normal Tajara - Deals with warmer temperatures slightly worse than nomral Tajara - More Stamina UNATHI - You get 20% brute reduction but are a bit slower - Your sprint is an extreme burst of speed over a short distance, you have the fastest sprint - Male Unathi can break cuffs - You can devour simple mobs, you have to be next to the mob and neither of you can move. - You deal bonus damage with claws, can cause bleed and have a bonus chance of knocking people down. - You get your own language titled Sintha'Unathi, got an older language called Sinta'azaziba, basically the same as sign/word language. - You are resistive to fire, Unathi can burn up to 6 minutes without any protection but are vulnerable to cold, don't worry space is not cold but vacuum will still cause damage, avoid the freezer and AI upload. - You are immune to carpotoxin thus can eat carp, even spiders and bears. - Normal human alcohol is poisonous to you, instead you get your own special brands. - Unathi hiss when pronnouncing thingssss in basssic. - On station you get a special suit, a breacher suit, only you can prevent fore- I mean wear the suit, it has one of the highest armor caps in the game but slows you down to a crawl and limits your vision to 8 tiles, use this when engaging in melee. - You have to modify softsuits and softsuits to wear them. - You are restricted from the position of Captain. - A unathi can burn up to 6:30 minutes with no protection until death, DIONEA - You are very slow, even when sprinting. - You feed on light and die in the dark, do not enter darkness. - One splash from plant-b-gone can kill you, avoid at all costs. - You don't take radiation damage, Toxins or oxygen damage. - You regenerate health very quickly and can even when at the bring of death to escape as a nymph. - As a nymph you need to eat plenty of food or suck the blood of your co-workers to grow back into a full grown Dionea, by doing that you can even learn their special language. - By splitting and re-building you can grow back lost limbs. - You can survive in space without a softsuit or an oxy tank. - You do not process chemicals, thus you can't be poisoned but don't receive positive effects either. - Cold damages you, even cryotreatment. - You cannot be cloned. - Your special language is called Rootsong. - Dionea are very slow, even in their speech, it's up to you how to RP slow speech. - Dionea can be heads of staff but only the CE, RD or CMO. -Dionea don't give a fuck about fire. Vaurcae This is the species I have the least knowledge on, thus take everything with a grain of salt. -You are weak to EMPs. -Flashes can blind you permanently. - You have 50% brute resists thanks to your exoskeleton, but this makes bleeding much deadlier. - You have a special language called Hivenet, you can communicate at any range with other Vaurcae! - You can use a special bite verb when you grab a mob to cause massive amounts of damage. - Contrary to popular belief you can get cloned. - You breathe phoron. - You only eat Kois which also slightly refills your Phoron storage. - You can go outside without a suit. - You are resistant to radiation. - You are immune to phoron. - You take bonus damage from fire, burning up in only 1:30 minutes. - There are two subspecies but the only difference is slight adjustments of stats and slight visual difference. - Vaurcae cannot be heads. - When a Vaurcae is cloned, they don't have their mechanical organs and must rely on plasma internals. -Vaurcae can burn for up to 1:30 minutes until death. HUMAN -You're a human, you don't need mechanics. Edit number 1: Thanks Mofo and Fire and Glory Edit number 2: Thanks Lohikar and Canon Edit number 3:Thanks Jen and Lohikar, again.

Suggestion: Renaming the title of "Admin"
Coalf replied to Pyrociraptor's topic in Off Topic Discussion
After witnessing admins firsthand I must disagree with your list and suggest this instead. Headmins > God Complex Pimary admins > Domestic Violence Secondary admins > Narcissistic personality disorder -
I have no strong feelings one way or the other but I must support Pyro in this. As a head rev that round we opted for a peaceful protest in cargo, shutting down any cargo deliveries or mining, effectively seizing their means of production. To his defense some of the revs were armed with weapon BUT not visibly, most of the weapons were hidden away and were haphazardly constructed stuff such as Hatchets, kitchen knives and one I think had a katana. What suprised me when I, a heard rev wanted to speak to the captain, he agreed to my demands and told me to walk out of cargo and have a talk with him, I went, without a weapon or support and as I approached the captain to talk. He pulled out a baton and beat me down, if it were not for the revs looking out the window I would have probably been dragged away. This escalated the situation to massive levels as revs just ran out of cargo directly attacking the captain with whatever they could find, the rest of what Pyro described happened after that incident when we once again re-fortified in cargo. Also I think there were some issues with cyborgification of suspected revs? But take that with a grain of salt as I don't remember all the details.

But that's the charm of it. Big, buff, slow and ugly IPCs, working in the mines and fixing hulls. You could just choose baseline. I take everything back they're buttfuck ugly.

Post Cloning Disorder and You, a guide for doctors and patients.
Coalf replied to Coalf's topic in Guides & Tutorials
Fun fact: Technically, only the CMO or captain can order a DNC. Security doesn't have the authority, not even the HoS. True, but from a logical perspective cloning someone who went full postal in bar is really dumb. -
Ah, there you are, sorry didn't notice you through all this cash I have around. Oh you want another great guide from me? Well maybe I could help. Got problems with cloning? Alright, listen carefully mai boy. Cloning is a very serious thing and an issue in the anno domini 2459 and a lot of people just don't know how to handle that, so this guide is here to help you with that. LESSON UNO: Types of cloning and what to remember. THE PATIENT There are currently two types of cloning, direct cloning from the fresh neural scan. OR Cloning from a database which was previously established. They may seem similar but they're EXTREMELY different. First of you know that as a clone you aren't supposed to remember anything after dying or immediatly prior to your death, of course the amnesia you have can be RP'd out to your choosing but remember, remembering who killed you and how is generally a dick move. The difference in database scan is that you don't remember ANYTHING AFTER THE SCAN, so if you were scanned at the beginning of the round you'll only remember what you did at the start of that round, you will not know that station went to red alert, that someone called you a pimplehead or that you ERPd in maint. This is the danger of the database cloning you will know nothing after you've been put into said database. THE DOCTOR Now for you doctor y- WHAT ARE YOU DOING? No don't clone that man, he's flagged as hostile to crew by security and without their permission you aren't allowed to clone them. No leave the suicide patient alone too, those people are wasted biomass a- NO THAT'S A DNC, DID YOU NOT CHECK THE RECORDS? Go put them in morgue right now. Now you're cloning a good patient, he got exploded by a weldertank, what he isn't responding? Well just keep smashing that scan button, I always live by the rule of 5 presses with a 5 second break between each of them. But remember, always check that a CMO or Psychiatrist/Psychologist is present during cloning, or you'll be occupied with a walking potato full of drama and won't be able to heal other patients, remember PCD(Post Cloning Disorder) is a real and dangerous thing. LESSON TWO: What am I supposed to do? THE PATIENT Now here comes the fun part acting out your PTSD, now you don't know how to do it? Oh don't worry that's why I'm here you sexy beast. Now first you'll need two dice, a d6 and a d12. Got them? Good. No Larry that's a D20 put that down you idiot. That's a d12 good. Now let's get rooooooooooooooooooooooooooight into the roooooooooooolls. First d6 for severity and thenthe d12 You'll throw for all of these Depression Aggression Apathy Immortality Syndrome Kübler-Ross model Denial Fearful Optimistic Obsessive compulsive Second man syndrome Amnesia Confident. Now remember, all these are SUGGESTIONS, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANY OF THESE AT ALL. It's just these tend to be most common in PTSD patients. THE DOCTOR Oh no your patient is going insane what now? GET THE PSYCH IDIOT OR THE CMO, IF YOU AREN'T SCHOOLED IN HANDLING MENTALLY UNSTABLE PATIENTS, DON'T! If they're being dangerous sedate them, if they're being dangerous to themselves sedate them, don't just stand around looking at them while they beat themselves, you're a doctor for gods sakes help! FINISHING NOTES And that's a burrito wrap kids, remember this isn't something you HAVE to follow, it's here just to spice things up if you ran out of things to do after being cloned. Also consider this a WIP, if you want to add something say so in the comments bellow, don't forget to like, favorite, subscribe, follow me on facebook, retweet on twitter, heart me on tumblr, circle me on google+, find my cragslist app and have fun. ALSO props to Aboshehab for giving me the idea of expanding this D6 system.

I think this is purely an issue of not liking consequences. A traitor tries to rambo a prepared security force? Traitors fault. A vampire runs out of blood and hulks, getting himself killed? Vampires fault. Revs try to convert someone who refuses and rats them out? Revs fault. You die because you refused to join the cultists with obvious otherworldly powers? Somehow the cults fault. etc. You do X which leads to Y, if you don't like Y don't do X, simple as that. That's why the rune has two options, you're free to resist to death and leave the round if you don't like it, exactly what happens when people go cryo during rev rounds because their character can't do their super special job anymore. And now the selection of items that force you to help the antag disregarding your characters alignment or backstory. Cult - Convert Rune, Soul shards - Note you can refuse and die, Soul Shards don't work on bodies with no soul in them. Traitor - Freedom Implant, AI subversion board, Blackmailed, Explosive Implant - You cannot resist the first two in any way besides getting a third party involved, Blackmail you can disregard at the cost of RP and the last one is you helping or dying. Vampire - Dominate, Thrall, Turn someone into vampire - No way to refuse the first two, on the third one you're FORCED to hulk and SUCC the first person you see. Rev - Conversion - Can refuse, depending on the situation you get killed/survive/rat them out to security. Loyalists- Conversion, Loyalty implant - First can be refused, second cannot. Wizard - Soul Shard - Again you can refuse. Malf AI - Laws - Unless you have a smart robotics you're bound to the AI with no way to refuse. Now the "We all have to be the same" excuse is just not right, you don't have to listen to other cultists, fuck for all you care you can just stay in your department doing whatever as long as it pleased the dark lord. Make rituals while everyone else runs around maint scribbling runes, try to get your friends converted to the dark lord not because the cult wants it but because you think it's the only way to save them, hell you can run away onto the outpost because you don't want to hurt other people. Now I agree with a few things, yes cult can get shit but because of the same reason Rev gets shit, because of people, everyone has a different opinion on what is fun so while some people like to murderfuck other people like to fuckmurder. Of course revs have to stay somewhat low the whole time because getting weapons as a gardener is hard. With cult you just have to have a tome and you become a one man army. So no, cult shouldn't be removed, I think you should actually TRY playing cult for once and TRY to actually enjoy it instead of just rolling your eyes and resisting your way to death whenever people try to convert you. I have to thank Zundy for providing some ideas, most people go "Do whatever" without realizing that other people might not be as good at improv as others. And also I have to agree with Jackboots, the only people who can fight against a cult is security and chaplain, the latter doesn't exist in cult rounds mostly because they get removed in about five minutes. And as for security there are two ways they can handle this, powergame and try to keep all of the cultists under surveillance 24/7 because they spend a few more minutes than is healthy in maint. Or do what a normal officer would do and arrest them for vandalism, that's about it really if someone is drawing on the floor with their own blood the only thing you can do is point them in the direction of the psych and suspend them from their department, we don't arrest mentally ill people IRL do we? Now not just librarian could have ways to research what cult is doing, how about some crewmembers getting messages when someone uses a rune? Like "You feel like a dark presence is growing". People could start feeling sickly only to feel much better after being converted, headaches when examining a rune as the dark powers seep into their mind or simply having hallucinations once they read the tome too many times. The main weapon of an investigator is getting everyone else to believe them and what better way to make everyone believe in dark powers then having them witness the bad side of it and not the good one?

Thanks for the answers and clearing up the situations, I'm glad you answered every question I asked an pretty well. Also regarding the third question that one was a loaded one, there really was no proper answer, but I agree with you on the fact that saving a HoP is probably the most important as he's the one who can issue access. Hope to see Izkhan in a head position soon.
-
Dragon my lizardman, I would fully support you getting a head app because you are a level headed thinker and a joy of a roleplayer. But you've had both your ups and down and I'd like to see those things explained before I see you in a head role. First, The Good Don't take being edgy as something bad, yes being needlessly edgy IS bad but him being from Moghes and a Unathi, the species that's born butthurt completely excuses him, there is nothing wrong with edge as longs as it's done tastefully instead of trying to slit your wrist every round for little to no reason. Now one time I've had you around was I think yesterday (29.12.2016), where HoP went full postal after getting tatored with a tommygun + drum mag with the addition of all his armor and other firepower. While most of the officers went ham at first, along with you, you were the one smart enough to realize that beating the HoP with normal security gear is impossible and decided to go back, gear up and actually told the others to disengage and gear up too instead of eating bullets. I think you were even promoted to interim Head of security due to other heads dying and your reactions were quite superb with some pretty good plans on how to get the HoP out of central ring and into maintenance so he can't take any more hostages. So far that round I have a few questions. When do you think lethal force is authorized? When the suspect HAS a weapon or when a suspect USES said weapon? Are you willing to negotiate with hostiles and meet their demands however ridiculous they were or would you rather risk the life of a hostage in a raid? If an antag held HoP, CMO and the CE as their hostages, which one of them would you rather save? Sorry if these seem like loaded questions but I think they're pretty important if you're applying for probably the most potentially dangerous role if abused. Second, The Bad. Right after that round you ruined my taste a bit, we've had a ninja who kept teleporting around and stealing shit, being generally quite annoying to security with us running around in maint trying to kill them. After threats Izkhan was given a full on dark gygax fully armored and everything. Now I didn't have much issue with the fact that later in the round you dueled the ninja 1v1 without weapons as you both ID and DNA locked the Gygax and there were other officers around guarding it. My issue was when your character decided to unload on a space bear with civvies in the cone of fire. Although I admit my character, Al-Afdal, did the same thing the difference in that is that he's a freshly re-assigned cadet while your character is a veteran officer. Plus the difference in weaponry as you were using the Gygaxe's machine-gun while I was using a shotgun, that's a 3-round burst killing machine vs a 1 round snailfest of a gun. And the amount of shots you missed made me worried about all the windows leading to space you broke. For this one I have one quesion, I know it seems a bit intrusive but could you post or screenshots(whichever you prefer) the skills your character has? If you don't want to post it, you don't have to it won't influence my opinion, if you don't want to post it in public just PM it to me. And last, The Ugly. Your character is an eyesore you picked the worst shade of red you could and those goathorns make you look like you have massive eyebrows, plus, who wears the black and red combo in 2458? What are you deathsquad? C'mon dude, it's the CURRENT YEAR. 2/10 would not bang. In all seriousness I hope all these questions gave you something to think about and will help you in becoming a better officer and head of security, looking forward to your answers.

[Accepted] MyBadMan's App for Tajara (Catbeasts)

This is well, really solid actually you've covered all the fronts and actually gave a reason how an ALA supporter like him would make it onto a human space station. Few things, most people that go through college don't come out the same as they spend most of their time away from their parents and he was basically surrounded by PRA supporters 24/7, wouldn't this influence and shake his views on the world at-least a bit? Did he try to promote ALA? For example he could have used the school news, or just simply talked to his friends about the possibilites without revealing himself? And, why is he on Exodus anyways? Couldn't he just try and sign up with one of the ships that PRA has? Couldn't he just go back to fighting for ALA? These are all pretty critical questions. Also change the name or I'll go into full assblast mode random gen is shit, SHIIIIIIT -
I think I worded it poorly when I said you have over 14 warnings, I simply pressed CTRL+F and checked the number of times word "Warning" was used, which was retarded from me since the word warning shows up twice in every warning given, that was my mistake. But even then you have an unusual collection of notes, bans(some only due to your own request I admit that) and warnings of all kinds and I couldn't overlook such a 'phonebook' of notes on your name. Honestly the last nail in the coffin was one thing you said to me and it went along the lines of, "So what's it going to be Coalf? Another warning, people are waiting for another round", I don't know the exact wording, if admins provide the logs you'll probably find it there. That pretty much told me that you don't really care about having warnings or the fact you even recognized that you made a mistake. There really was a lack of escalation in that situation and although I regret giving you this ban I think it's needed for someone like you to realize what he did and think about it. Again, nothing personal and I'm glad you didn't put this in the Staff Complaint section of the forum, bust I must stand behind my decision and thus behind the ban I gave out.
-
Please just let him have this, the orange beret with the CE RIG makes me want to stab my fashion loving eyes with a screwdriver, this might actually look good. But in all seriousness Ikrad is a nice well rounded and developed character and I think something like this could only enhance the interactions with him.

Just a single questions, don't magnets fuck with nonelectrical and data devices? Sounds like putting a magnet right next to a posi would be dangerous.

[ACCEPTED] Coalf's Moderator application
Coalf replied to Coalf's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Actually that's a very good point. I don't think I would outright OOCly tell others to release someone, after all this is an IC issue and the security player in question might be doing this because he's playing a corrupt cop or a hothead. I'd simply ask him IF this is how the situation has to play out, this might be an important turning point in his characters development but to me denying someone else fun because of your own fun is a dick move. If it went too far and the player would outright refuse to at-least give some roleplaying freedom to the brigged player I could ask for a "random" inspection from one of our CCIA's, this way the IC experience of both the offender and the offended would be enhanced instead of me saying "Let him go or I ban u". I'm sorry if this answer seems confusing, I had a lot of internal conflict over this thing and had to re-write it a few times since I changed opinions on it. -
[Accepted] Tajara Whitelist Application - Synnono
Coalf replied to Synnono's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Finally, it is time for the judge to be judged. Almost no issues with the backstory, it's compact and filled with information we want to know, her reasoning, personality, strengths, weaknesses and motivations, still question. The job, how did Hadassah join NanoTrasen? Was NT her first choice or a last resort? Or was NT simply the only mega-corporation willing to accept an NKA supporter into their ranks? I'd like to know that. And you as a player? Honestly, I'd be delighted to see you play a Tajara, your characters are fun and cheerful and I'm curious to see how you'll tackle a character that is somewhat a lot more tragic in her backstory. -

Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: I used to be a mentor on now deceased Unbound Travels Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Well way back I was banned on Paradise for pulling the classic WGW over comms. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I used to play it for the greentext and mechanical complexity, but now I've realized that role-play is just as if not better than combat and constant science tweaking, honestly it is one of the few games that has kept my attention for more than two years. Why do you play on Aurora?: Mostly the community, I've met great people here that are not only excellent role-players but are generally friendly even in out of game, of course can't avoid an asshole here and there but that is inevitable. And after my experience with other older servers I can safely say that I enjoy the role-play here the most. What do moderators do?: Moderators are here to provide help and assistance to new players and enforce rules and regulations on everyone even each other. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Almost the same as above, with the exception that a moderator is expected to keep up the level of role-play that is expected of a HRP server and us such go as an example. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Like I said, I enjoy the community and would like to help in any way I can to keep the server fresh and up to snuff. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I think of myself as a patient and un-salted man and I try to settle conflicts peacefully instead of pushing for action. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Pretty well, I have never really insulted someone back or yelled at them for insulting me but every person has a breaking point, luckily so far I have not reached mine. Anything Else You Want to Add: Thanks for reading this I guess, don't want to sound too pushy with this.
