1. The only thing Scheveningen hit on the head was the fact that I talk too much to defend my own reasoning when I wasn't the one giving out the ban in the first place. At this point we're arguing Plausible/impossible, I recognize you think it's retarded but I don't think it's THAT retarded, people are very very very stupid even "basically not even helping but just doing things because they think they're right" kind of thing. I'll refrain from posting now since I said my piece of mind and I don't have much else to say.
2. I seriously do not see where the cluck is the OOC issue, we can have stupid characters, we can have people who act like assholes, we can have these people in emergency situations they are not usually trained for. I don't think NT has a special "What to do when your co-worker is assaulted by a gigantic spider" course. The person in question is a unathi, a Cargo unathi who's resolution to a giant spider assaulting his co-worker was banging it to death with tools instead of calling the appropriate department, again something worthy of a low-RP server except this is fine because? Because perhaps he's a person who might feel more like taking things into his own hands is more reliable than calling other departments because he feels like he can solve them himself? This is a textbook Incident Report, a character was being stupid ergo a character should be punished for being stupid. Security officers sometimes give wrong sentences, chemists don't get prescription papers filled out, robotics don't fill out borging papers, medical insults you, cargo refuses to give service, a bartender charges aliens an extra tax. All of these are people making dumb decisions and I do not see a reason why we shouldn't warn the person in question through a system we implemented specifically for these types of situations.
3. Hello I'm here because I was in the round in question and I supported Ezio's decision. Let me explain my own reasoning in this issue as it's somewhat different from Ezuo's reasoning of why he let it go. We have two characters in our play, Lizard and Human. Now Lizard isn't a doctor, all he knows is killing spiders and eating spiders while the Human knows how to fix toasters. The human is wounded got bit by something venomous (poison is ingested, venom is injected), so he grabs some band-aids and puts them over the bites, yet there is a second issue the venom. Now this is the only part I'd judge as Powergaming because Tea from vendors by default cures toxin damage which I'm curious to how this character would know outside of the player knowing. But aside from that he knows that tea helps against venom, so he starts feeding the Human tea. But the human keeps vommiting this tea out even though it's helpful and the only way to prevent death, so the lizard tries again and again to feed this ungrateful human the anti-venom even though he refuses to take it. You see the reasoning behind it? The character isn't a medical expert but he most likely knows that if Drug = outside, it isn't going to work so he tries his hardest to get it inside you, he could have most likely done this gently, he could have been nicer but he slaughtered a spider with basic tools and ate it as a 6 something lizard. That character doesn't seem the type of character to nuzzle you gently and offer your character respite in time of need. We have a way of dealing with this, the Internal Reports your character could have used to raise a complaint against that character for acting so stupidly and brashly.
4. Let me actually address the argument itself instead of how it was worded or the person who posted it. In short, yes. As you've said this server has a large playerbase now, a very large playerbase, in fact we have such a large playerbase that we've already passed Paradise multiple times on the hub and the increase seems to not be stopping. That's why we have to be more strict, that's why we can't let people get away with the small things, that's why it seems we're taking our volunteer work more seriously, because we are. Times change dude, this community has over 250 people on discord and while this is nowhere near accurate to how many people play we often have over 70 people on livehour and 30 people on deadhour! Deadhour used to be like 15 people and 1 staff! Before we could count on people they would behave, before staff could play favorites, before staff could afford giving out leeway because they knew most of those people atleast as an aquintance and the few rare baldies that acted like idiots were swiftly booted. Now you're the minority and they're the majority, that's why we need to measure everyone with an equal ruler. tl;dr
5. Say no more fam
6. swirlies is how my dad died stop makin light of the tragic situation reportdd ;(((((((((((((((((((
7. You thought they were about to murder you, so you decided for the smart option and stuff yourself into a trashcan that functions by pushing trashed using super-pressurized air at the speed of a car down a few hundred feet of steel piping with sharp turns ending at a 20 feet drop into a crusher. Instead of just stopping and saying "I'll cooperate" None as of now or in the future, we don't care about an odd accident here or there, that happens (Unless of course it's major to the point of killing half the crew because you literally cannot stop insulting the rescue team.) What we care about are offences with malicious intent or repeated offenses which show us you haven't learned from your past mistakes or just don't care. This is somewhat dumb, yes, I would have warned you regardless if you called security or not falling down disposals. Person A wants item X using person B Person A can get X without using person B Person A doesn't know this and thinks they require person B so they need to keep him alive, person B knows they don't need him but can use their stupidity to his advantage. Thus person B decides to kill himself. ??? >I was resisting >I had been cooperating Pick one. My choice was to die quickly, cooperate or kill myself in one of the most painful ways. It's simple, YOU as a player knew you had a bigger chance at surviving and that basically getting rid of their hostage, which was their only ace, you'd efficently checkmate them into getting shot down by security since they lack a hostage, a leverage. Trouble is their disposals are a very large tube about the size and width of a generic main hero that leads down a somewhat steep slip&slide. Our disposals are a tiny box in which you can squat that accelerates you to the point of a speeding car as super-pressurized air forces you through thing, metallic pipes and sharp bends for several hundred feet until you fall 20 feet onto a steel floor into a crusher. (As I said before)
8. A man who admits to not playing the game complains about a game he does not play, players and experts baffled. inb4 "I played yesterday for 15 minutes as a janitor before ghosting and complaining in ghostchat so I do play the game"
9. Acceptible and we recognized that. Columbo has two functions, standing in place and attacking. You knew full well that Columbo wouldn't help the situation besides being a weapon. Glad you recognize why your whitelist was stripped, you escalated a situation to the point of ERT having to open fire on you, the Emergency Response Team had to open fire in self defense against the people they're helping. Additionaly the reason you whitelist wasn't stripped on the spot was because myself and Sharp were asleep and Alberyk himself was directly involved in the matter, thus biased. You could have had this under control, yet you failed, we all fail sometimes and failures have consequences this consequence is having your whitelist revoked. Additonally we expect Heads of Staff to act as Heads of Staff in ALL situations, even those extremely stressful and extremely improbable. Anyone can lead a well oiled department, your job is to keep that department from descending into their primal state and anarchy, you failed. Player was dealt with by staff, you were dealt with by staff. The point is you. A: Escalated a situation, doing the exact opposite of what a head should be doing. B: You threatened multiple times to have the J-ERT thrown out of the airlock and called the new ERT which was not shooting doctors and not doing anything out of the norm of the usual ERT, to quote, "MENTALLY RETARDED MANCHILDREN" C: You attacked an Emergency Response Team member with a baton
10. I support this suggestion and to answer why I support this I shall respond to Maskedman2 here. It's simple, because we don't want disabilities to be a "Pay attention to me" button. We don't want all other RP to stop because someone decided to eat a banana because he was bored, or give them a button triggered heart attack so medical has to suddenly pay attention to them and they're shitters and bad players if they don't, no. What this seeks is to make character more believable, more flavorful. These things ultimately aren't supposed to matter, they're supposed to be something that can simply be ignored in a high-stress situation so it doesn't slow down gameplay but also something that can be impeding in a lot of less critical situations or when the round is slower.
11. Application accepted. Locking and archiving.
12. I hate borgs. Thus I don't like O-O-S as a borg. But would I be fine with OOS as an IPC? Most likely. OOS seems like an acceptible and understanding unit, actually following orders instead of misinterpreting them for the sake of """""comedy""""", they're responsible although sometimes the synth-RP slips out of their hand in stressful situations and they start freaking out akin to a normal human, the recent SM cascade comes to mind regarding that. Urthem himself is a good person, he took the denial of his Head App with a suprising positive stride and I don't hear anything bad about them in OOC or LOOC either. But, your roleplay IS lacking in some aspects which again, I'll blame the fact you play borgs and thus you aren't that used to using /me's, responding to conversations and actually stopping to talk to someone instead of doing your job. I approve, I really want to see this player more off station-bounds and more in actual real human beans.
13. What grief? If you had literally just taken a few moments to talk to the guy like I asked you to, you'd know that he was okay with how that situation panned out. No one incurred any grief at all. I have an issue with this. If I ERP on the server with someone and they're okay with it, does that mean rules weren't broken?
14. Week up and zero feedback. I'd recommend putting your application out there a bit more next time. Application denied.
15. It's sat around a week and while it has a lot of read almost zero feedback. I'd recommend playing on the actual server for much longer and advertising your application more. Denied, locked and archived.
16. He's a big guy. But I fail to see how exactly this conveys "Security cyborg" Seems less of a "Secure and protect" and more of a "Hate and penetrate" While I agree yes, this would be perfect for a syndicate cyborg, malfunctioning borg or perhaps a combat module this should have no place as a standart borg sprite.
17. Changelings are outdated, pure and simple, SS13 was never intended as a HRP platform and changeling doesn't work with it. (But uh had a good interactions!!!!! - Yeah no, for every good interaction you have to endure 20 parasting instasucks) And importantly. TAKE YOUR TIME You have TWO HOURS, TWO HOURS of gameplay where you can Pick a target, interact with a target, isolate the target, kill the target and dispose of the target. As an antag your responsibility is to provide fun, it's your choice who is having fun we WANT for as many people as possible to have fun but we know that CAN'T happen simply from how many people play. Focus on one target, one very very good murder can feel much better than a lot of badly done murders. The monologue thing is bullshit, don't do it. Nobody cares why you're killing them when the bullet is halfway to their spine. It's all about preparations! As a ling you're supposed to assume a targets identity, find a target, know how they act and what they do, observe their behaviour and quirks. Same with traitors, vampires and all other silent antagonists, your job is to provide fun to yourself and to the victim and POSSIBLY to everyone else on the station, sometimes that won't happen it's simply not possible, you have to accept that. Futhermore you have to accept, people are people and some people don't like losing. For every gank complaint we have two complaints of an antag complaining he got validated because his victim dared to defend himself.
18. Locking and archiving.
19. I am the banning staff member. You forgot to include your Ckey but this is a fresh appeal and I still remember your ckey. You entered the round, about half an hour into it you decide to drag pun pun into the bathrooms, hit him with a cane and choke him to death. Next when an officer discovered this, he proceeded to make an arrest where you accidentally discharged your shotgun aimed at his head, twice. After this immediatly when arrested you attempt to chew off your hand, this is when I noticed you and I thought "well maybe it was an accident" until you decided to do it again. This is your own explanation to everything that happened. Now if this was your first infraction I wouldn't have cared, but. TWO warnings regarding this lowRP behaviour, excluding the other notes which show how you basically didn't even bother skimming the rules. If you want to improve, read the rules and understand them, you have a whole week now.
20. The feedback here was well done and meaningful and the application itself wasn't bad itself. But, well done criticism can also be negative and while I firmly believe nothing above was done out of malicious intent, head whitelist players are held to higher scrutiny than normal players and thus can't make the same mistakes as regular players, thus I will have to deny this application Don't get dissuaded though, work on yourself and I suggest making an application at a later date. Application denied, locking and archiving.
21. This application is half-finished and you're completely new to the server, try again later. Locking and archiving.

Conspiir I don't see what's dickish about it exactly? This is a format that is done in Podcasts because it works the best in podcasts, I didn't say it is badly writen, I didn't say the author is a poo poo head, I said the format doesn't fit which in MY OPINION is true. And comparing it to reddit/discord/4chan stories isn't negative either, I STARTED playing the game because of these stories and I legitimately think someone could enjoy this and join the game, I just don't find the way it was writen appealing, more of frustrating to read, FOR ME Scripts are a part of a movie a very important part of a movie because with a bad script a good actor won't do much, but they're a PART, it is a good part don't get me wrong but it seems TO ME like a part of the whole. I'm not telling the OP to stop writing, I'm encouraging the OP in trying out a new format. Addendum: I have not listened to Welcome to Night Vale so my opinion is completely unbiased regarding the actual way it is writen, I just don't like the format.
