1. Complaint resolved, locking and archiving.
2. These people exist, it happens and it is easily in the realm of possibility for such character to exist among crewmembers who are part of what are considered terrorist groups, a species who bullies its own members because of birth, space racists and fungus which sucks your blood when too small. YET and a big yet. This server is PG13 and creating your character on the basis of being a sexual predator is very innapropriate for the kind of play we want to create here, while yes plenty of engineering staff seem to have seen the other, better, side of the coin most people see only one and that is the uncomfortable/sexual side. The player in question has been spoken to about his innapropriate behaviour and warned to tone down it down and be more tasteful rather than acting like Chad Thundercock. Complaint will be closed after 24 hours, until then it's open to additional comments.
3. That was never in question, but as you said this complaint about Yahir Jones and the player Kyres1 who'd I'd like to respond first and explain everything before judging. And regarding the canonity thing, I'll be frank I'm not sure myself and while I phrased it as a fact it was completely my own personal opinion on how it should work. But I assume you should be the only factual editor of your own character and his interaction, otherwise we get people who'll claim your own character is dead because they killed him on extended once.
4. I'm sure it's purely up to the person to declare something regarding his own character non-canon.
5. I'll be taking over this complaint and judging it's validity from now on. First off yes, Yahir as a character has been quite the blister on the crew manifest and while I hold no personal grudge against them as I've had barebones interactions, all those barebones interactions were either negative or creepy. (Personal experience) BUT When I interacted with the player in question outside of Yahir, either in deadchat, being a merc or playing a wizard he's actually been an acceptible individual and his RP and overall playstyle seems to spike in quality. (Again all of this is personal experience.) While I think this whole thing could have just been an IR because all IR's are uncomfortable I still see why this could be a legit problem for someone. Aurora is a SFW server and while an innuendo here or there is funny and we've had quite a few "trap" character they've all had enough restraint in them to make one or two jokes per month. On the other hand playing a walking innuendo is on the brink of acceptible, I'll withold my judgement until kyres1 responds. And *spoilered for posterity This has nothing to do with the complaint and I'd ask people to avoid attempting character assasination and instead focus on the players in-game behaviour. And if I remember it correctly hive you used a sprite of a naked baby in a diaper as your profile picture for a good few weeks and now switched to a caricature of a drug dealer. I know friends are involved but if you have nothing to add, don't. No, that's the Aurora shipping manifest made by a certain player to keep an easier track of all relationships characters have with each other, anyone can add their own character to it if they wish so it's completely voluntery.
6. You should prepare for quite a shift, Magic and General throw a giant curveball into the strategy of the game as Hammer&Anvil don't really work when a single well aimed spell can simply stop your cavalry or decimate your whole line. But sniping generals is much harder since a single general can take on a whole unit easily and it actually forces you to be a bit more imaginative and pay a lot more attention to macro since even units in safe distance can be suddenly targeted. Monstrous units are strong but their size makes them susceptible to ranged, some factions don't even HAVE cavalry, some don't have artillery, some have extremely weak and useless range and so on and so forth. It certainly feels less like a single faction with different skins and actually like multiple very different factions with different types of gampeplay. I like it but it's a big turn from the usual Total War titles and a lot of people don't like it. But the memes are great.
7. I'm afraid I'll be taking those Elector Counts Tylaaaar But for real yes, Shogun 2 appears to be the fan favorite and I have to say while I love Warhammer Fantasy, Shogun 2 holds a special place in my heart, the aesthetics and general feel of the game are amazing and as TW titles go it was damn near perfect.
8. Hey Zundy my man, making an app? Great! Because I seriously support you dude! Allowing Zundy to be a human loredev would seriously be a good idea as I've already had chance to interact with him. I'd say he's instant to recognize and utilize great ideas and is a great listener no matter who they are or what they're talking about. Like I said once before human lore is behind both on the wiki and current affairs, nothing really explores the different colonies. During the events humans were used sure, but not really as their own species but mostly as some kind of a background setting. On the other hand they got a lot of negative light thanks to this as they were used as the "bad guys" while IPCs were the good guys. My opinion is that humans particularly Solians are used way too much as antagonists of space. I'd like to see them in different ways, not only good of course I'm no hail humanity guy but new and refreshing takes on humanity. Now my main concern is the shifting focus on Vaurca and hopes that this wouldn't become Starship Troopers. In short, I seriously recommend Zundy as a human loredev due to his ideas, creativity and abillity to take a project and finish it. Also I'd recommend reading the first letter of every sentence. ;^) +1
9. Application accepted, don't forget to change your sub-species to shell.
10. So far eggcellent in my opinion, I liked the inclusion of secret messages in ALA articles and cracking the code of them (Two weeks late but whatever), the reinforcement of Tajara as their own species instead of 1920's Russia in space with the addition of Fauna/Sidestories/Family relations/Culture/Religion of their own. But not everything is peachy, NKA felt like the favorite child of a parent that says he doesn't have favorite children. I understand you're attempting to tell a story and essentially you need to "Prepare the ground before landing" sorta thing but honestly the other few factions felt a bit neglected with nothing really sight-catching happening to them unlike NKA who got the largest coverage of new articles, events and actions. Recently your sight seems to have shifted to ALA a bit more which is good because they seemed less like a faction and more like a plotpoint. More like a slap on the lore-horses ass to get him going than anything else. PRA was frankly boring, nothing refreshing happened to that faction besides playing tug-o-war about territory most Tajara players on station don't seem to care about since they don't live there, atleast it seemed so from my perspective I might be completely wrong. But there is clear cut improvement actually attempting to make something else out of these factions than a bunch of stereotypes just laid down on each other in hopes nobody notices and that there is actual effort to progress and shape the lore in a very flexible and acceptible way without intruding too much into the lore itself, slowly sliding ideas and changes into the lore instead of just slapping your lore writer cock on the wiki and going GUYIZ X WORKS LIKE Y NOW DON'T ASK WHY IT JUST DOES no there is actual subtle effort in there and I'm glad for it since I got into playing Tajara for the lore and I'm only glad it's actually moving somewhere instead of keeping up a status quo. You accept whitelist within reasonable time, give a heads up before a review and you apologize when an app is left laying around for a bit too long, SOMETHING OTHERS COULD TAKE NOTE OF But there is one thing I wanted to address, backstory quality. There were and probably always will be issues with people trying to make Tajara off-station, but recently i've noticed a (short) spike of very simple dumb Zhan who are from some backwater town and get to space. While I'm not against "Dumb cheap workers" since this is what NT is about I feel like these are being used in the same vain as the off-station Tajara, to avoid lore and get a through with a very simple and bland whitelist, again my own personal thing.
11. I'd advise to fix your formatting first, simply move all the text outside the 's so it's easier to read
12. Now hold on I know a lot of you stopped reading at the word fanfiction but hear me out first. The thing is as far as we're concerned we only have three subforums regarding writing Character Stories - Intended for character stories NanoTrasen Public Network - An IC internet sort of thing Personal Query Terminal - An IC tumblr sorta "Ask this character" deal This doesn't offer a lot of options does it? What if I want to write a story about a character I never actually played? What if I wanted to tell a story about a certain place at a certain time where my character couldn't possibly be? What if I want to write about two lovers that were denied fate by a stray bombing run? What if I wanted to write about a detective who saved the world from a cult but died in the process? What if I want to write a short fantasy flick about Dragons and Magic and flying goblins with daggers for nipples? I bet plenty of people have a story they want to tell and share with us, all of us but there are so many things that stop them. "It's unrelated nobody will care." "I don't want to spam discord and even if I did not that many people would read it." "I don't want to send it to individuals, it feels to personal and I don't have any real friends/buddies/buckos/pals." Plus I think even our lorewriters have stories they'd like to write that just aren't specificaly canon or perhaps aren't really supposed to influence the lore just give a more realistic feeling or give a story about something that they can never replicate on-station. Also props to Zundy for telling me to make a suggestion.
13. I've had plenty of interactions with Lily Hawkins and observed a few other of their characters while ghosting, thus I'm not concerned about your roleplaying capabillity. As always my biggest concerns regarding Head players stems from an out-of-game problem, salt. And I can say that in your case I'm not afraid, all the interaction I saw with you in OOC was either completely calm or none and for someone who's played for quite a while this is pleasing to see. The story is meh, mild nothing too spicy but that is expected from whitelist applications since people don't want to take unnecessary risks. So reagarding your head application, I'd say you're, worthy.
14. I never did so I can't post any feedback my dude. But Shalashaska "Revolver" Sakaei is a prude as any unathi with a clan name is but sometimes I notice you take it a bit too far, and while I do appreciate and like an actually confronting force in my roleplay to stirr other people into action and keep them on their toes instead of constant glomp/hugging, you just take it too damn far. Not always mind you, but it's still there, often I can see you getting physical with people and humans to the point where it goes past harassment and enters assault territory. It's acceptable from someone who's been on the station for a few weeks but your lizard has been quite active and for quite a time to the point where this kind of behaviour should have been whipped out of him at this point. The one incident that comes into mind was basically smacking an officer on the table, cuffing them and taunting them over and over after they gave you a half-witty insult. (This was a few weeks back) Otherwise there is the ever so rare "memeoff" with other characters which I'm not a fan of where you basically flash jokes and one-up each other until one of you gives up and while I'm no prude memeing in that volume stops being fun and starts being annoying. Otherwise I have no other issue with the character. The player is another story.
15. Yeah sure might help a bit, people are still going to be upset over not getting the gamemode they wanted but that can't be solved really. Or maybe people could vote the fucking round they want instead of picking secret like the centrists fucks they are.
16. Teleports behind u nothing head of personell, kid...... unsheats katana and exectues amaterasu pssh pathetic.....
17. The issue isn't Aurora lore, the issue is the lore of said species you're applying for which you have none of. When you're applying for a species there is one thing lore overseer looks for, your understanding of said species, as it goes Ru'rek could be a human, skrell, unathi or a sentient corgi yet this background would still fit him. And that's wrong, he's a Tajara not a human, his backstory shouldn't be identical with the backstory of Steve Bingus two streets over, it should be a completely different experience. It's the reason off-planet Tajara have not been accepted as a valid whitelist since last year.
18. Well you'll find that you most likely won't get accepted unless you change this application. The reason we have a whitelist is for people to read the wiki, understand the lore and try to make a character fit the lore. And if you read the lore you'll discover we're COMPLETELY different from Baystation Tajara lore. From reading your app it's easy to tell that you either didn't read the lore or made a character specifically so you could avoid the lore, both are unacceptable so I recommend you do a complete rework. I understand the nostalgia you can feel towards old characters But As it stands now I cannot support this application.
19. I've had a few pleasant interactions with Tedrow and the fact she actually uses her mouth for something else than breathing and eating is a pleasant thing to see. Now for the application part: No seriously this is well done, a young Tajara who's affected by the drums of war through her close friends and family, discovering that other planets and species live much much more educated and rich lives than anything she could find on her own planet. This essentially takes her spirit into wanderlust hoping to find much brighter and better future somewhere that isn't Adhomai. So yes I fully endorce this application, it's apperant you actually read not only the main parts of the wiki but actually the more hidden parts that feature the native flora and fauna along with the religion of Adhomai.
20. Well first off you might want to edit your post there, your 's seem to have slipped off. Second, while the idea of a cave dwelling Tajara tribe discovering society after living in a cave for countless years sound extremely appealing as a story with an interesting character it's a bad idea for a whitelist. Whitelist are here to show lore overseers that you understand the species and their culture, by creating a tribe of cave dwelling primitive Tajara you've essentially completely isolated them from the exact culture Mofo and others before him were trying to enforce with there being a single mention of an actual political party and the mention being completely out of context? It kinda looks like you put The People's Republic of Adhomai there just because it was a requirement. Plus you have so many questions that there are simply no answers to besides "Just because it happened that way" like What were these other tribes? Tajara are technologically advanced, they live in villages like normal people. Did nobody experience something as a culture or technological shock? These are what I assume cave dwelling primitives and they somehow had no issue adapting to the technological level? Where did they get houses? Why was he accepted into school. Why would NanoTrasen hire him instead of actually technologically skilled Tajara? To add insult to injury your application is very poorly worded to the point where I actually cannot read certain parts of it. Seriously, sit down, read the wiki, read the other accepted Tajara applications, get inspired and write, it might take more than a month but quality > quantity. So far -1
21. I, Patrick Huey, Head of Personell, would be interested in attending this meeting.
22. I agree with what OP says. Antagonists are here to do exactly that, antagonize. An antagonist doesn't have to shoot fireballs around and fight the crew, there are many ways to be an antagonist and plenty of those are peaceful antags. But antags who intentionally turn themselves in essentially neglect their role, it's akin to picking your job to be a Janitor and simply refusing the clean the floors with which we take actual issue, ICly. We can't do the same thing for antags since they're a non-canon thing, thus it requires us to step in and set things right. So yes, I support this policy, although it should be worded better and "For no reason" replaced with more specific description.
23. Yes I read that later I should have edited it but I forgot to do that. Anyways And yes I agree that the addition of Phoron fuel cells (or something i dunno) into Mechs would be one of the good ways to start off a "Phoron update" to include more mechanical changes within the game itself. It has the added bonus of forcing out more interaction. Since phoron includes bluespace generations it also wouldn't be far fetched to use phoron as a fuel for Teleporter and Hand teleporter or even dare I say, fuel for gateway, although that's most likely out of the question as it's an arrivals tool and not actually something used in-game in any other way.
24. Fuck you Fuck the playerbase, you don't deserve us or the server. You think cunty faces.
