1. Senpai Jackboot If a patient is outside of a character's experience range, i.e, a nurse is the only medical staff and someone is dying of internal bleeding - are they SAFE from being charged with neglect of duty for not trying to treat these severe injuries? Basically, are characters that don't specialize in advanced treatment (chemist, nurse, paramedic, EMT) absolved of any guilt of malpractice if a patient dies because they're not overqualified enough to treat? I could see Security trying to press this.
2. Hasn't this been resolved? Lock it up.
3. Internal Affairs The Guide to Investigations, Your Relationship with Command, and Other What is Internal Affairs? Who are Internal Affairs Agents? The Relationship Between Internal Affairs and Station Command Getting Started Investigations -WIP So it's time to start your first investigation! This is the meat and potatoes of Internal Affairs.
4. Ok I'll consent.
5. The idea here is to remove the title 'scientist', and have 'Researcher' replace it, as well as add the follow alt-titles: Bluespace Topographer -Man's the teleport lab Research Chemist - Focuses on the research and grenades aspect of chemistry, helps supply science with much needed acid and shit.
6. Then perhaps disable the auto-swiper to call them and require a staff member to approve ERT calls through fax or emergency message?
7. Simple. Crew can't call ERT until hour and a half in, admins can send early if a message is sent IF its for power or something. Have mercs show up thirty minutes in, just for an ERT to be called immediately, is dumb - you never actually get to face security, just a full ERT team that has way better gear.
8. I think with Forgotten's clarification on IAA's role, and their authority - I am comfortable with this suggestion being closed. I encourage those with the suggestion about Operations to make new threads, as that sounds cool. I think Internal Affairs can be useful now, if players will take up the mantle. Arrow768 can this be binerino'd?
9. Thank you for outlining this - So a Head of Staff that does not implement the reasonable suggestions of Internal Affairs could be construed as not following the order of someone that represents Central? As well - While I knew MOST of this in theory, I am hardly a reputable source and I prefer to have solid documentation to show to people, if they try to stop me from working.
10. Went SSD this round as Warden after being reprimanded for being rude to fellow sec personnel too.
11. Can we please get a defined version of this 'authority' , because CC announcements say Internal Affairs have no authority, as do staff, as do Station Command. If I am IAA and I see a crew member doing something wrong, I cannot speak to them directly, I must instead hope they have a head of staff, or bother the captain, and if the Head of Staff agrees with their crew member, then i am expected to fax central over something that might be as simple as being out of uniform.
12. Luckily, it's not illegal if you sign a personal release form <3 ALSO RON THANK YOU FOR ACCEPTING MY SUGGESTION. If I have anymore ideas, I'll share.

On Captainship

Because racism. We haven't know taj/unathi/dionae/vaurca long enough to trust them with a nuclear bomb.
14. I can confirm he did the LI as a thrall thing. Also, while Warden, he goes into the armoury and implants himself and says he 'always has an implant'
15. I, Mr. Klaus Eliade, Head of Security Level One, Command, would like to register my interest in this gathering.
16. We already had protospecies for Unathi, Tajara and Skrell, the farwa, naera and stok.
17. A Head of Personnel should never be a Warden, that's a giant leap down in paygrade (sec is near bottom) and has a lot more information clearance than a Warden.
18. Xenobiology could be made better by giving xenobiologists something to do aside from working with the same slimes they've been working with for five years. The idea is this, a Xenobiological RED , or Reverse Engineering Device. Most creatures (Cave dwellers, xenomorphs, mimics, some slimes, giant spiders, tindalos, diynaab, etc) would have some sort of biological data in them, or a few pieces of it, that can be reverse engineered by this stationary, large device. So, the idea would be you kill a spider, drag it down to xenobiology, the xenobiologist hooks it up to this machine, which then would analyze the creature, say some fluff texts like 'Extracting DNA' 'Probing Atoms' 'Testing Elasticity', and then ping, the creature, if it was alive when hooked to the machine, dies, and a data disk pops out. You can take this disk and RnD would be able to plug it into their computer, this would allow them to produce things based on the reverse engineered data. So... Scan a spider? Maybe RnD's protolathe can now make an ingredient necessary for anti-venom, aka anti-toxin but works better on spider venom. Or, scan a Cave Dweller, and you can upgrade security's tasers by plugging them into the protolathe to have a better stun/recharge rate. yeah, that's my final suggestion for today.
19. From the rules: He was clearly asking you questions, you weren't at much of a risk of being discovered but you didn't respond to them.
20. I disagree. If you WANT to play bartender - MAKE A BARTENDER. Why are 'you' taking up the Bartender slot as your professionally educated character, instead of letting an actual Bartender character take it? I like the idea that another presented of having a day-time limit of being able to jobhop until you lock in.
21. hi, this thread is not about AIs. thanks
22. No. The reason they are restricted is because it's far too much power. A ling captain can issue many orders, which security CANNOT refuse to follow, without being guilty of mutiny. Could also suspend/demote all of security, etc etc,. Just no.
23. Simple. Restrict characters to a single department, so admins can easier see when people job-hop. If you want to change your character's department (just like if you wanted to change their name), you must contact an Administrator. It's tiring seeing MDs who 'bartenders on their time off from medical' or 'Roboticists who also warden' or the many other mixes we see.
24. I know, we have a policy of fixing things, not removing them. But hear me out, really, hear me. Internal Affairs have seen their access increase to include command, and the command channel, meanwhile, they have seen no supplemental job-duty increase, or additional responsibilities. They are not the scary corporate eyes they once were, because CCIA tells them to file incident reports after the shift after every fax, making in game investigations pointless. CCIA have, at every turn, refused to devolve responsibility to IAA, or assign them tasks, and Admins have also neglected to give them any TLC (not that it's their responsibility anymore, with CCIA existing) Hell - Internal Affairs aren't even allowed to know what incident reports are open or not, because of the classified rule. So, Internal Affairs sits exactly where Genetics did, unusable in a sad state, and should be removed until it can be revamped, or should be revamped now.
