  1. I hadn’t seen this earlier. One of my big concerns is your tendency to breach protocol as psychologist and go do triage and even, I think, surgery. A big part of cmo is just delegating. You have to assume people will do their jobs and let them do it, at least until they make a big error. I generally don’t recommend people who exceed their departmental role for command. I understand some of this disagreement may be ic, so I would like to hear your ooc thoughts on what limitations you believe command staff should have.
  2. Yep, altered my entire playstyle and became Best CMO of 2018 after it. Haven’t been warned since. Also I think we are confusing ic shittery and ooc shittery here. Perfect characters are boring.
  3. I wonder who you’re talking about. Ahelp when you see issues. This is a game full of social interaction and motivations and story that can develop, even in round, on one side of the station and you’ll never see it if you’re not around. For example, I’m 99% sure the cmo getting excused for something by a metafriend captain thing you’ve mentioned is when butterobbers captain didn’t charge my cmo for neglect of duty for saying he wouldn’t do his job while in pain crit. Because people say dumb shit while they’re in pain and actions speak louder than words. Butterrobber and I are not friends. Our first discord interaction ever was after that round. You’re just assuming we are meta friends instead of assuming we had a conversation in round. Which, honestly, is the same thing with the medical metaclique. Medical is a revolving door of players and characters. And we are, in my experience, pretty absurdly friendly OOC and welcome new characters, teach, and include them. I see LOOC invites go out for the medical discord and the private discords pretty much daily, and everyone in MY rounds is given assignments regardless of their time on the server. So, ahelp. You’re not around for most of the ic and ooc interactions in a round for any given character but your own, so you have no way to know what’s going on. Bitching in a vague essay post doesn’t accomplish anything. If you ahelp, admins can investigate and determine whether there is sufficient IC motivation or not. And I’ll echo Alb when he says just because YOU don’t see punishment doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

    Cultural Trends

I talk pretty much nonstop about biesel’s next top model and unathi wives, the equivalent of trash tv in 2461. Tajaran electroswing is growing in popularity in Mendell. Clubs like The Cats Meow cater to humans who want in on this trend.
  5. Reporting Personnel:Fernando Gonzales Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Chief Medical Officer Game ID: bZB-aeRn Personnel Involved: Ian Bauer- Head of security (offender) Seth Ramos- Chief Engineer (witness) Qrqil Qrrzix- Captain (witness) Nicola Penna- Biochemist (witness) Nick Volvalaad- Warden (witness) Tatyanna Atkinson- Engineer? (witness) Time of Incident: ~0600 Real Time: 20:00, pacific standard Location of Incident: NSS Aurora Nature of Incident: [ x] - Workplace Hazard [ x] - Accident/Injury [ x] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [ x] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: HoS Ian Bauer assumed control of a bound warform, Peacekeeper, sent by Central Command. I was initially alarmed by its use, being paraded around station, especially in light of the Lii'dra attack late last year. Bauer filed an injunction to prevent the crew from speaking about the warform. As I am exempt from an HoS's injunction without a majority command vote to back the injunction, I kept speaking. After the warform seriously injured Nick Volvalaad, warden, who accidentally ran into it, the crew began to feel especially uneasy. I felt that the warform was unsafe, however, my insistence that it was not safe was largely ignored by Bauer. I suggested to the crew that we might sit in at the bar, since it is a large public access area. Around ten crew members joined me to silently and peacefully protest what the believed to be the misuse as a dangerous weapon. At this time, it was reported that the warform was breaking windows and equipment in medical, however, I was not there for this. The sit in moved to another bar, created by CE Seth Ramos just south of medical in an abandoned part of maintenance. It was here that Bauer approached to arrest me for sedition. I insisted that sedition did not apply- his injunction did not legally apply to me and I was acting peacefully, in the interest of the health and safety of the crew. He claimed he had orders to detain me, but later I was handed Central's faxes on the shuttle and read that he was ordered to detain me if the situation escalated, which it had not, and I also read that he was arresting me for breaking the injunction, which he could not legally apply to me without a command vote. Rather than cuffing me or asking me to accompany him to security, he ordered the warform to detain me. It shattered the glass of the bar and knocked almost everyone nearby over, rendering one crew member, Tatyanna Atkinson, permanently deaf without medical intervention (which I later cured). The warform grabbed me by my throat. My natural response was to struggle, as I couldn't breathe. Bauer declared this was resisting arrest and stun batoned me. After being brigged I insisted Command vote to relieve Bauer of duty. Bauer and I, naturally, abstained. The vote passed between the CE and RD, and was later supported by the Captain who arrived shortly after. I was released from the brig. I believe Bauer should be held accountable for his misuse of Peacekeeper, his destruction of station property, and for my unlawful assault and arrest. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: The CE and RD voted in response to my case. Actions taken: Bauer was brigged, he cryo'd shortly after. Additional Notes: N/A
  6. After we talked privately, I'll point to this as solid evidence in your favor. Keep trying hard to make things fun for everyone, but try not to take it personally when it doesn't work. It's always hit or miss in command with this sort of thing.
  7. I have some concerns with how you handled a recent extended round. You tried to host events for the crew, which is awesome, but you got OOCly angry when people chose to do other things instead. We can't enforce fun in command, and while I appreciate what you tried to do, the way you reacted to your plans not working has me seriously concerned- It's just extended. Everyone salts in OOC. I salt in OOC more than most, but these are worrisome to me, especially where you are yelling at a player for 'taking your slot'. We don't have slots. I am, by far, the most played CMO character but if I don't roll CMO I don't yell at whoever did (except occasionally in jest, if it's chirp, fuck that guy).
  8. I second pancakes and hugs. Until then, I will continue to really press your buttons.
  9. I also want to include my favorite screenshot of B-4 for evidence in favor, because this synth rp is great.
  10. It’s about time. +1
  11. When I moved Ellie shoshanna to HoP her background as a scientist was largely unhelpful, so I retconned a little and put her in academic administration. I’m sure you can figure something out to work in thea’s favor. Large career shifts are generally okay, from what I’ve seen, as long as they’re treated like a big and permanent deal.
  12. I worked at a research facility irl. We had a mouse named Bernard the Brave. Lucas stepped on him and killed him. Its realistic enough rp.
  13. I am so hyped for decent coffee sprites.
  14. At the beginning of the round, remains are randomly stowed somewhere on the station. As they level, they become more corporal and can be reduced to 0 hp, at which point they respawn at the remains. If the remains are found and destroyed, they are defeated. Bonus points to people who use this all to make cool stories about deaths around the station and come up with win conditions like 'unite this ring with my body', etc.
  15. I agree that it was a tense situation, that ninja was terrifying, which is why it blows my mind anyone could pretend picking a fight with armed security over "he made me put the mindbreaker he's addicted to and recovering from in security instead of chemistry" and "he demoted someone I like who broke into an operating room and nearly killed a patient, also brought a wizzo who assaulted the CMO" is in any way, at all, even a shred realistic and justifiable.
  16. Copypasted from Arrow's post, because I'm hella lazy. "Hm, how about Poltergeist? People like spoopy events, afterall. You'd begin with basic ghost abilities- write in blood, flicker lights. You'd be able to blow out candles and turn off lamps. You would have a drain lifeforce feature, where if you hovered over someone and activated it, they would get a bit of text saying something like 'a chill goes down your spine', which would slowly give them pain damage but no actual physical damage. However, drain life should only work in low lighting. As you gain more lifeforce you unlock more abilities- the ability to be visible for a short amount of time, the ability to pick up and move objects, the ability to possess people, etc. Ideally most of these would be flavory, used to set a tone more than anything- spraying blood on the floors, knocking out lights, etc. You would not be able to enter the chapel. Holywater would immediately cure possession."
  17. If you thought the HoS would pepperspray you, why are you claiming suddenly it's not bad fearRP because you could also just trust them to not fire on the shuttle? Willow Harper does not fear lethals, she does not fear pain. You didn't fear a stun baton here. I don't buy this excuse.

  19. I think you should also hear from marietti’s player, for the sake of fairness.
  20. What if just a basic sucking (ha) turns you into a fraction of a regular vamp. Like, it takes awhile, you get sick, you end up able to drink blood but not to spread from there and not able to do special abilities beyond, idunno, glare. And then we leave in the ability to make a full vampire with a lot of effort.
  21. BYOND Key: ResilynnGame ID: bZe-aqzlPlayer Byond Key: RosetangoStaff involved: AlberykReason for complaint: It's the same issue as always, really. Threatening command, refusing to follow orders, and just generally being hugely problematic as a character that would actually be employed. I won't assume she waits for rounds that are heavily wrapped in antaggery to act like this to avoid IC consequences, but I suspect it. I'll post the most recent situation, which I ahelped about and was told to make a player complaint on by Alb. Here the HoS, Qux, is attempting to arrest Thea for breaking into the OR with a wizard earlier. At this point, Harper walks up and drags a perfectly compliant Thea away while the HoS is talking to her, through the crowd at the shuttle. Here she is once again failing to follow orders. Despite, by the way, the HoS holding up a stunbaton. This is bad fear RP and bad pain RP. Here, a cargo robot inserts itself between Harper and the HoS. Despite her character having no reason to think all of this will be wiped away as noncanon, she tells an armed Head of Security to leave and that they're not appreciated here. She should fear being fired. Again, bad fear RP. Here, she literally just. Refuses to be arrested. We're already on the shuttle, there's nothing the HoS can do ICly with the short amount of time left. I suspect rosetango intentionally abuses situations like these where she knows this will be written off as noncanon. Here, she ignores threats of lethal weapons and threatens security. In what world would you talk to your employers like this? I play a generally unpleasant character, but I still am mostly respectful in command and I still follow orders, because I'm playing a man who doesn't want to get fired. Moreover, IC actions have actually developed my character and led him to improve. Meanwhile, you have Harper, still doing the same unrealistic nonsense over and over again for literal YEARS. The HoS was not able to arrest her because of the near mutiny from cargo, which had nothing to do with the antags and only to do with Harper not wanting her friend arrested (who was wanted for antag related things but was not an antag herself). By all means, that situation was removed enough from the antag action that it SHOULD be canon, except that the station was so chaotic it really couldn't be. We have a character who has lead mutinies on canon events, who has assaulted several heads of staff, and who still, years later, still acts like this. I find it completely ridiculous. It disrupts rounds, it's bad fear RP, half the time it's bad pain RP, it exploits the rules, and she's been asked to stop this plural times. She improves for a few months and then we just end up here again. As a note, I was not this HoS, the HoS was Yonni, and I felt horrible for him having to deal with a player acting like this ICly and OOCly. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes, I was told to make this complaint.Approximate Date/Time: 3/11/2019, ~9:30 pacific time.
  22. Kyres' application could literally just say "it's me" and I'd give it a +1 after everything he's already done for this lore. He's smart about it, he's passionate about it, he's experienced. I couldn't think of another community member who could even be a quarter as qualified.
  23. This would enable us to have other things to do, so we wouldn't be so tempted to alt tab and do other stuff. We are punished for leaving the desk, ever.
