Can I just interject, as someone who isn't important and doesn't want to start shit? If I have a complaint with admins or other players, I don't want a entire peanut gallery present with the ability to comment their stance however and as often as they please. I'm talking about people who have absolute no say or witnessed nothing, they just want people to know how they feel because their thoughts are important, even though the person in question had absolutely nothing to do with the situation in question. Complaints threads have been filled to the brim with shit like this lately, with people who weren't even involved in the damn incident arguing in circles around the people who actually have an issue they want solved.

The suggestion is simple. Make science goggles do things again. Nothing fancy, just what they did before. You know - like protecting your eyes from plasma and other such concoctions.

Because these people need to justify themselves publicly. This is a heavy roleplay server. Rules regarding roleplay were not adhered to, and very few of the operatives actions made sense, as if they had never planned at all. Considering how the majority of them conducted themselves, I'm quite convinced that they didn't. Civilians and security were reportedly shot on sight with very little interaction, with operatives charging forth even when under fire. They broke into high security areas, sabotaged communications and the medical bay, and generally did very little outside of the generic nuke round formula. If I didn't know better, I'd have thought I was playing on Hippie Station.

And what is at least half of the things in-game. The vast majority of SS13 is based on scifi and pop culture references.

Came to tell you that you're wrong. It's relatively easy to be a frightening character ICly. All it takes is a little knowhow about fears, phobias, and little squicks that drive the human mind nuts. Sure, you can focus on the player, but the fun would be over. There's no challenge in it.
