  1. just pick the satchel instead lmao
  2. Actually, I would argue that having such precise numbers for military will continue to breed suggestions and complaints of this kind infinitely. No matter how we change these values, they will always be "not grounded in reality", because space military doesn't exist in reality, and as such, there is no way to land these numbers in a way that will make everyone happy. Instead, I suggest we do away with exact numerical specifics of size and crew, and instead focus on nailing the flavor of each faction's military by using descriptions, rather than focusing on realism and numbers. These don't really add anything to lore.
  3. Alternatively, add an emergency internal Manual Eject button to sleepers which allows you to leave if the exosuit pilot is unconscious, and also makes Oddies an actual medical mech rather than a weapon.
  4. Again, because admins may refuse to allow you to see some of your notes, or allow you to see them under specific conditions. Introducing invisible/hidden notes would only complicate matters for staff themselves, while being of almost no use to the players other than satisfying your curiousity.
  5. Well, do as you please, then. Though admins can just take a screenshot.
  6. You can always ask an admin to show you your notes. I haven't been met with refusal so far.
  7. Just noticed a typo with the arrest for sedation lmao Anyway, I totally support the idea. In first proposals of the expedition stuff, some particular CCIA definitely made paperwork appear a means to deter too many people from going to an expedition, which I consider really unjust. Why deter people from having fun in the round? This fixes quite a majority of the issue. So, +1 from me.
  8. Am I still allowed to run my own holiday events without delegating it to CCIA?
  9. Appealing Personnel: Robert Bretscher Specific Incident: Action taken as a result: A note on my own record. Action contested: Overall handling of the IR. Reasoning for contest: Only one witness was interrogated while I listed three in-person. Also, I fail to see how AIMMO's maintenance is above standard if its chassis is improperly repaired, and its movement is clearly and obviously lagging behind. I wish a different agent to be assigned to this case.
  10. As a loredev, I beg you - PLEASE don't be cheeky. This just makes processing your whitelist more inconvenient.
  11. These are all excellent and thought-out answers. Accepted.
  12. Right. Considering the overall "genericness" of this application, as you admit it, the clear signs that you didn't really put effort into this application, and the feedback and what I personally know about your history, I will be denying this. You may re-apply as soon as right now, but I expect a more complex character to be presented. Archiving.
  13. All Skrell were sterilized in the Glorsh era. Did you mean fertility treatments? :/ Why?
  14. What I see here is just clarification for the reasons you are silencing the community's opinion, which so far has been mostly negative. I will provide feedback on the aviator sprites specifically, though. I don't personally care for differences in functionality. They make character eyes look really, really dopey. This is not as much of an issue with prescription glasses, which are often almost invisible on white-skinned characters. Aviator glasses, however, are extremely clearly visible on the character in all of their states. To demonstrate: This is what aviator glasses look like on a real-life person. Here we can see that the eyes are in the center of the glass. This is how they look on a spessman, illustrated: Because the size restrictions don't allow the eyes to be placed in the center, they have to be placed in a manner that makes the character visually appear cross-eyed. Current sechuds and secsunglasses, however, don't have the actual eyes visible, and therefore don't have this problem. I can't believe I wasted any time of my life on writing a reply that will be dismissed by developers anyway
  15. Hello. I will be handling this application. Delightful to read. A few followup questions, though: Is Quiplsh a listener or a receiver, and how, if ever, have psionic influences of others affected her life? Does she feel confident using telepathy and projecting herself in the Srom? Quiplsh has worked with Nanotrasen in the past. What kind of projects has she worked on to receive an outright offer to become Captain rather than a Chief Engineer like her expertise would suggest?
  16. I do agree that the aviators's sprite is worse than default sechud glasses.
  17. Hello. I will be handling this application. Please format it so that it isn't entirely bold; it's hard to read.
  18. You can expect the lore updates regarding a particular race to be in the lore diary of that particular species' server. I log every single update for Skrell I do, but on the Skrell server so as to not clog the lore diary up with things people may not even be interested in. I won't argue that a consistent guideline wouldn't be useful, though, because it would.
  19. It appears in the lore diary on the skrell server. I didn't consider it to be of paramount importance because it was simply repeating stuff which I was already running off when making decisions. Regarding the bigger picture, it does not really matter because Jargon uses galactic credit to trade with other galactic powers anyway. The unathi transgenderism thing is also a fine thing to just post on an unathi server's lore diary. It does not really impact all people on station, and it is not a massive lore change that can affect your whitelist, nor is it a huge update. I don't recall if we actually have an unathi server, though.
  20. Do you understand that Aurorastation is an open source project, and that your sprites, if included, may be edited to become departmental security uniforms?
  21. Reporting Personnel: Robert Bretscher Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Scientist Game ID: N/A Personnel Involved: AIMMO, Shaft Miner - Offender Time of Incident: N/A Real Time: N/A Location of Incident: N/A Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [X] - Other: Malfunctioning unit Overview of the Incident: This is a formal disassembly/reset/decommission request regarding AIMMO, a baseline IPC. I have reasons to believe the positronic brain of this unit is malfunctioning due to physical damage. Although I lack information on whether or not the machine is a free synthetic, I believe it matters little while it is in Nanotrasen's employ, as these kinds of broken-down units tend to be dangerous overall, even outside of work. No scans of the positronic brain itself have been made because Aurora unfortunately lacks equipment to conduct diagnostics such as these, so what follows is a collection of my personal observations. Although it is able to perform its ordinary mining routine just fine, even if not exceptionally, the unit very clearly lacks any respect or regard for its organic masters. It appears as if the synthetic has been previously damaged in the head, as a brief look shows, causing its processor to malfunction and its personality module routines to override practically everything else, especially regarding basic morality and propriety, understanding of orders and requests, and long-term memory. While having seemingly undamaged servos, movement routines also seem to be slightly lagging behind, further supporting my theory. The personality module appears to provide a basic "sassy" behavior, which is, while not really my personal preference, generally fine. However, the degree AIMMO goes with this leads me to believe it is in a clear need of reset and intricate repair that NSS Aurora is unable to provide. The synthetic is incredibly needy and loud over Common comms, particularly when dealing with research personnel. It does not seem to acknowledge that producing Kinetic Accelerators is not Research's mandatory responsibility, and due to apparent numerous corrupted sectors in memory, it cannot remember this even when told so on multiple occasions. Another piece of evidence for corrupted memory sectors is the unit's disregard for basic grammar and punctuation while typing on PDA. If the unit's demands are not immediately satisfied, it becomes incredibly verbally hostile. On one occasion, I recall the unit standing around the R&D lab for a good 10 minutes, discussing its dissatisfaction towards me with an another unit whose designation I do not recall. In general, it enjoys thinking that it is superior to organic beings, even if those organic beings clearly possess higher mental capabilities and qualifications. It does not ever refrain from stating such in person and on radio channels, even after attempts on my part to reconcile with the synthetic by offering to make it the implement it wants, which it did not seem to understand, continuing to presume I am going to refuse to provide it service as usual. With all of the above considered, I think that the unit is simply not fit for work on NSS Aurora as of now. I suggest the unit is, again, disassembled, reset or decommissioned. Considering that its work was nothing particularly notable, it should not be difficult to replace. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Yes, various research directors across multiple different shifts. Actions taken: None.
