  1. Congats, you've found the right outline balance that'll be actually visible in-game. Now it'd be nice to give all other sprites the same treatment.
  2. There is a happy balance. What you've presented will essentially look like a monotonous blob with 0 outline in-game, especially in dim lighting which is ever-present on station. I really suggest you test these.

  4. They'll look like monocolored slush in-game. Make darker tones more pronounced, especially outlines, or else it'll look REALLY bad. Mining is very bland and I don't see a reason for them to start wearing a black uniform all of a sudden. Not entirely sure what's going on with that leg and why it's the only armored bodypart, as well as why miners need armor at all? I don't really see a reason why current uniforms need revamping aside from "change is good". Especially in cases like Engineering where you essentially sprite the same thing but with slight modifications, and, well, worse. These pockets look really iffy, too.
  5. This analogy is pretty false. When you apply for a whitelist, you know what you're getting into. New players who just logged onto the server don't know that the setting is discriminatory towards humans, but people applying to play an alien aren't first time players. Not to mention, this is actually completely irrelevant to your proposal. If you don't like xenophobia so much, maybe just remove racism from the setting entirely? What would discriminated humans change? Wouldn't Skrell mistreat Vaurca or Tajara all the same?
  6. They can't, humans are the default race. Imagine being pushed and shoved around as a new player. Why would you go through the effort of applying for a whitelist if you can just leave and go to another server because you were mistreated? Is this how we want new people to view us? As elitists and assholes who don't like new players? Something more interesting could arise if we make a subspecies of non-Jargon Skrell, who have no psionics, and make them unwhitelisted.
  7. Or not apply for a whitelist in the first place. I don't see the point you're making with this post.
  8. It can be a positive factor, but not for everyone. The people that enjoy it opt into it, the people that don't - don't. I don't see anything inconsistent about this argument.
  9. clock ticks down, the bossman shouts "let's get down to work"; crack the head that dares to doubt and mock the weary soldier

  10. Skrell have all the reasons in the world to look upon other races as if they're beneath them, especially humans who stole their AI algorithms and continue to utilize them without realizing the obvious dangers of such. In fact, this kind of relationship is already shown in some lore, e.g. there is a racist Skrell university that really doesn't want to accept xenos in it. I think it would be interesting to explore, and I agree it would be cool as a temporary event.

Was it reported? Actions taken? i went to sleep after having surgery and then the shuttle with the command staff left so no
  12. I don't have any particular issues with the backstory, but the "what makes this species different in roleplay" is extremely generic and vague, with more general information on the Skrell race than actual roleplay differences. Also, it makes it seem as if Skrell are not emotional. Please re-write it after re-reading the article on Skrell.
  13. Using the teleporter for areas you have actual access to is ridiculous.
  14. The rewrites of the messages are very welcome. As for everything else, it is pretty apparent that the author of the PR does not play cargo or a lot of other departments. A lot of bounties are now basically worthless to complete, especially mech bounties. I get lowering the bonus for food and the like, but it should have been done on a more selective basis rather than a blanket lowering of everything to absurdly low values because it's "realistic". If you don't like bounties and don't play cargo because of it, that's fine. A lot of people enjoy doing them, though. I enjoy doing them as non-cargo, even. With this PR, there will be essentially no incentive for me or others to do so. As for removed bounties: monkey cubes, earmuffs, night vision goggles and appendices are all possible to obtain on station and make for sensible bounties with cross-departmental RP. I especially don't get the removal of the appendix from bounties since it was mostly done using cubed monkeys and nobody had any ethical qualms. It's for a delicacy, after all. The toolbox message doesn't make sense because sent toolboxes can be empty. Singularity engines are still used in-universe and can even be set up on the station, so I don't see a problem with mentions of it appearing in cargo bounties. Instead of removing slime jelly because it's poison, I'd rather change the message so that the jelly is sent to Upsilon. It's a pretty experimental reagent.
  15. Ironically, "nobody died but security can't handle anything" and "the events have caused psychological distress" can qualify as this extremely easily. Or, for example, science being out of power and there being no engineers would also then qualify as a valid reason to call an evac. Or literally any structural damage caused to science without engineering crew present. Bomb range is destroyed? Call evac, we can't do research! Or all of the scientists being dead/otherwise unable to work (all scientists are drunk in the bar -> they can't do research -> call evac ). Etc. etc. Evac shuttles are a means to end the round on red alert. If the round should end, then by God's name, let it end. If an evac is called, chances are that everyone is very tired of the round and wants a new one. It's not an extremely common occurrence.
  16. I've been busy with deputies, give me another day or two to process this.
  17. With the behavior shown by the applicant here, a strong -1, actually. I don't think someone with a mindset of "oh there were way worse things so let me do this bad thing" would be a good command player.
  18. Research directors also should have Telecomms access, so don't lock it behind engineering
  19. Sterben is an extremely over-the-top character, and I also don't see any real improvement from your previous application. -1
  20. It is good as long it is optional and not the default - if people want it, they can opt into it. You're suggesting to make it the default experience. You are not opting in to play humans - it is the default experience you get on the server. By the way, humans have the highest stamina (longest sprinting time), high alcohol tolerance (which speeds you up), can be Captains, and have no particular weaknesses. A lack of unique mechanics is not necessarily a disadvantage - in fact, having mechanics can be a disadvantage like Vaurca only sustaining on k'ois.
  21. The corporation would literally stop existing and be assimilated into Jargon Federation's direct assets if it is overtaken by Jargon. Jargon Federation has no corporations, everything is government-owned. Thus, no CEOs and major executives. Openly assaulting others is an administrative issue. The current on-server racism is fine by a lot of players. Vaurca, for example, have to jump through bueracracy hoops to get approved for non-assistant positions - that is good racism enforcement (although it is undermined by existence of C'thur). I don't see how making humans discriminated fixes literally anything. Aut'akh were assaulted and dismembered by Sinta on day one, and you saw it as a good thing - is it not satisfactory? Being needlessly unintuitive is not good. This is pretty much needless unintuitiveness. If people want to roleplay a discriminated character, they can apply for a discriminated species whitelist and play a character of that race - why should the default experience of a person on the server be being pushed around, mistreated and denied service? Don't you think that would chase players away?
  22. 1. I don't know how you're going to change the most dominant species into the most discriminated species within a week. 2. I don't know how you're going to enforce this sort of behavior in humans, considering they have no whitelists. 3. If Jargon overtakes NT, it would not be Nanotrasen anymore. Jargon has no corporations for a reason - it would become just a Jargon Federation station rather than a Nanotrasen station, which would screw with the setting tremendously. It'd require some remaps and a lot of wiki rewrites, and also rebranding of CCIA and Central Command in general. ERT, too. And the Foreign Legion... And removing the AI from the station... And outlawing IPCs... And a lot, lot, lot of other things... 4. A lot of people don't support racism already. Most people in the racism thread, in fact, voiced their disagreement with the thread's claims and calls to action. 5. It would somewhat screw with players' general expectations when newly coming to the server. On most other servers, humans are the dominant race, and I don't see a particular reason to go against this trope. 6. Actually, I don't know how you're going to enforce this behavior in whitelistees either. Vaurca essentially have a shtick of being discriminated - wouldn't that undermine it? Same with, say, Tajara. I don't see it as a bad event, and a Skrellian map would be cool, but definitely not something to launch permanently - and especially in the manner you've described.
  23. While the backstory may beg the question "why not play a human instead", I believe that you've outlined the answer to that adequately in the "differences in roleplay" section. Accepted, archiving.
